  1. I went to Australia during their winter, close to spring. It was summer here. The weather was nice. Did not see any hot guys Kandre, and I was there for a month. Loved Sydney, and Melbourne. They are so different. Went to Uluru and Alice Springs, was dissapointed that I did not see a dingo. We did learn a lot about the Aborigines who inhabit Alice Springs. We went into the outback, but did not see any kangaroos or wallabies except in the reserves. We saw Koalas in the preserves also. We rode a camel through the desert and also did a hot air balloon ride hoping to see Kangaroos and the like, but did not see anything except brush and desert. Went to Cairns for a week, and from there took a train to the Great Barrier Reef. We had been told that Cairns was like our Miami Beach. NOT! The train stopped at a place called Korunda,, up in the mountains. where the aborigines live. It was very beautiful. There was a colony of artists there, and we decided that if we ever came that way again, that was where we would stay instead of Cairns. Port Douglas was on the way to the reef and it looked beautiful too! Another place that we would have preferred to Cairns. We went to Tasmania for a week. We rented a car and drove through Tasmania. It is gorgeous. We saw rain forests in all their splendor. We went to a resort high in the mountains and covered with snow, where their brochure says that the wild animals come up to the door of the resort kitchen for left over scraps that are thrown to them. Every evening guests would gather for this event. We saw no animals. Once returning to our cabin there was a wild animal hanging on a branch over our doorway. It scared the hell out of me. It was big and I thought that I had finally seen a Tasmanian Devil. My friend said, "I can't believe you are scared of a possum." I live in Houston and had to go all the way to Tasmania to see a possum. They are all over Houston, but I had never seen one. That is the only animal in the wild that I saw in my month in Australia. Kandre, I did see a lot of hot guys in Italy though and I was only there one week!
  2. I love that Clay looks so happy with Reed in those photos. I do think that the photos do not do justice to his gorgeous self. They make him look old. In person, he looks really young and yummy. Hot, Hot, Hot!
  3. Yes, it is at great cost, not only in money but in human lives. All for a war that never should have been.
  4. Was just catching up and read posts of virus problems. I use Spybot Search and Destroy also, and there is another program that works in conjunction with Spybot. It is called SpywareBlaster. This program does not search for stuff, but prevents it from downloading into your computer. There is a free version that one has to update on a regular basis to cover all the crap that the idiots are putting out there. There is a paid version that automatically updates. I have been using the free version for a few years, and it keeps my computer safe. It works! I found out about this program from the guys at Spybot. You can check it out and download it at Cnet.com. That is where I got it, on their Download.com site. The icon is a guy with dark hair, dark glasses, and a shield. I also use Norton's Internet Security and Ad-Aware, free version, which Cnet ranks higher than Spybot to remove stuff. I have not had to remove anything since I started using the SpywareBlaster.
  5. I think that if the Ohio votes had been counted correctly, Bush would not have "won". I do not think there is any such thing as "us" the American people, really! You do have a point. I guess the same thing applies to the Florida election the first time. If the Florida votes had been counted correctly Bush would have not been appointed. Good thing is that now finally we are rid of him.
  6. And he served two terms? Once appointed by the supreme court, but then people actually voted for him for a second term? What does that say about us the American people?
  7. What is funny to me is that a lot of the fans who criticize Clay's wardrobe do not look all that great themselves. I am sure that is not lost on Clay. He said that sometimes he finds someone with a booger in their nose to laugh at during Spamalot. If the booger person is close enough for Clay to spot, it is probably one of his fans, just saying. Changing the subject for a moment, is Clay going to release another single from OMWH or has he totally given up on this CD? Now that he is not on Spamalot what do you all think about the chances of another single. I hope that he does release another single! Which single do you think would do well?
  8. Somebody had to say it! I totally agree. I did not think that Juniors was all that great, but most of the Claynation loved it, so I though that it was just me and my friends. I went there on my first Spamalot trip with three other fans. None of us really liked it, so on my next two Spam trips, I did not go back. There are so many tastier places to eat in NY. I love the delis.
  9. I can attest to the fact that both KAndre and Keeping are charming. I can't believe that I got on from my new laptop. EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE Had to try several times though because I kept getting message that either my UN or my PW were wrong. NOT
  10. LdJ, My friend and I decided to try Jean Georges where Tyra brags about going to dinner and lunch with Clay. It was an experience. We went to lunch like Tyra suggested because dinner is too expensive. Everything we had was full of flavor and beautifully presented. The service was impeccable. It is very classy, but not snooty. We were worried that we would feel out of place, but they made us feel at home. Everyone was very welcoming and gracious. We loved it! The menu is different, but our server, a very cute young man, encouraged us to ask questions. It is a French restaurant. For lunch you are required to order two items for $28 for both. You can add another item for an additional $12. Believe me, the two items are more than enough. The menu starts with the lighter items on the top and the heavier items towards the bottom. If one is smart, one orders one item from the top and one from the bottom, as it is very rich and tasty food. I decided to ignore that and got the pecan crusted red fish and the glazed beef short rib. After I ate the red fish, which comes in a delicious broth, I was afraid that I was not going to be able to eat my rib. Wrong, the rib was so delicious, it melted in your mouth. I ate it all! My friend did it the right way (boring). Before they bring your meal, they bring each of you what we considered a small appetizer, courtesy of the house. We had ice tea, delicious also, and dessert. We did not have any wine or mixed drinks. After eating all this rich food, I asked for sweet and low, but the server suggested I have their syrup for the tea which was just warm water and sugar. While we were eating our desert, they brought us three different trays, one with four dark chocolate squares with different fillings, one with flavored fluffy marshmallows, and one with some other sweets that we really did not know what they were. They were crispy. This was also complimentary from the house. When we got these our first thought was that we did not need to order dessert. Everybody gets these complimentary items. Lunch for the two of us including tea and desert was $88, and they did not mind splitting the check to put on two separate credit cards. I know that this seems expensive, but Junior's is not cheap for sandwiches, and we went to Ellen's Stardust Cafe, and a grilled cheese sandwich was $12.95. This was our most expensive meal, but well worth it. Like I said before, we were intimidated to go there, but had a great time and found out that the couple at the table next to us also did not know what the heck to order, when they started to ask us for advice as to what we had ordered. We felt like pros then. We will definitely go back there again. It is in the Trump International Tower on Central Park West on Columbus Circle. We walked there from the Edison Hotel which is near the Schubert There is a deli next to the Edison Hotel where the food is good and inexpensive. We ate there alot. This deli is real close to the Schubert. Someone recommended The Chart House which is across the river in New Jersey. They said that it is on the water and has beautiful view of NY. We wanted to eat at Carmine's, but the portions are too big for only two people. They serve family style. Writing this "menu" has made me hungry. No, we did not see Tyra or Clay. The place was full, and if there were any celebrities, we would not have noticed because we were too involved with our food.
  11. Clay's Thanksgiving Parade on CBS did not air in Houston. They had the nerve to show the local parade instead. Rats! If anybody captured it and can share, I would appreciate it. I hope it appears on CU soon. Thanks.
  12. I am a big Rosie fan and was really looking forward to watching it. I did not find it very funny, and I agree that most of the jokes fell flat. The best part for me, other than when Clay made his appearance, was Conan getting a pie thrust in his face. Can only wish the same thing had happened to KG. Rosie seemed nervous and IMO was trying too hard to be funny. It did not work for me. Clay appeared to be very comfortable and natural on the stage. He definitely held his own in his little chat with Rosie. Somehow, I do not think that the little gay joke between him and Rosie was necessary. It was not funny to me. The main thing that both have in common is that they are both very talented, caring people, JMO. I do wish that he had gotten to sing. IMO there was too much going on to fit into a one hour show, and it seemed too hectic and rushed. I hope that she gets another chance and that the show improves. If it does continue, I think that Clay will be a frequent guest. Calurker, What is going on in Rosie's world right now? What have I missed?
  13. Talking about ignorance. My friend who works in a chemical plant told me that the day after the election, he heard the stupidest conversations he had ever heard in his life from the guys at work. These guys, who are all blue collar, vote Republican. They were all upset that Obama had won because he was going to take their guns from them. Some were worried that Obama was only going to allow them one round of ammunition. They were all going out to stock up on guns and ammunition. I thought this was hilarious until that evening, on the local evening news, they announced that there was a run on guns and ammunition in Houston and that supplies were starting to run low. The next day, a call was placed to Obama where he issued a statement that this crap was not true. He stated that he had been endorsed by various hunting groups and that what he had talked about doing was enforcing gun registration and finding ways to keep guns out of the hands of terrorists. IMO, this was unbelievable, with the state of the economy, the stock market dropping every day, these same guys being laid off their jobs, one after the other, and this is what they are panicking about? Only in Texas! (I hope)
  14. That's right, "when push came to shove this Hilary supporter could not bear to vote Republican." I was so upset when Hilary lost the nomination. I ended up voting for the Party because I could not fathom 4 more years of damage. But now I am so happy that it is finally true that "any American" can grow up to be president if they so aspire. We were always taught that in school, and so far it had just been a fairy tale. I am glad that it happened in my lifetime, and I got to experience it. With a Democratic Congress, Obama should be able to do a good job. He has a natural talent for inspiring people. With the mess we have now, it will not be easy. So I hope that he gets really good people in his cabinet, and surprises the heck of all the disbelievers. Do I still want Hilary to be president some day? Heck yes! I am not getting any younger, so I hope I get to see her become the first female president before I croak. We were the last to get the right to vote, so what else is new? For now, I am fully supporting our President elect Obama.
  15. Why would anyone think that the content of that letter, that Faye supposedly forwarded, would influence anybody with half a brain? The letter said nothing but someone's personal opinion. which sounds ignorant to begin with. I disengaged after Hilary lost, but I still voted for the person and party that most represents my issues, which is Obama and the Democratic party. I respect McCain and the sacrifices that he made for our country. But I definitely do not agree with his politics. I am not too impressed with Obama, but I want to trust that he will follow through on what he has been so articulate about. At least I hope so. He is young, and hopefully he will be idealistic. With a Democratic congress, he should be able to do a lot of good for all of the people who have been forgotten during the Republican Reign. I so understand KAndre's points. They are certainly valid. We do need a lot of change so that America is returned to the people, and taken away from the big corporations and the war mongers. JMO
  16. Ooops I did not see where it said only the first vote would count. I did not read, just started voting because I was too busy voting over and over Hee Hee. Sorry, but I voted so much that I started to think I was voting for Clay on Idol again. Hee Hee
  17. Went to PBS site and voted and found out that one can vote as many times as one wants. It does not limit the vote to one vote.
  18. Liney, That sounds like intimidation, and in a way, a veiled threat to get their employees to vote Republican. I would even consider it coercion. Isn't that illegal? If someone working in that company wanted to make trouble for the owner, I think that person would have a good case. The company could also be using an Obama win as an excuse to lower wages and less benefits. Sorry, Liney, but IMO you are working for an idiot or a bunch of idiots. Good luck. I sure hope that they do not follow through because it looks like Obama is going to win. IMO, they are violating your right to vote for who ever you want, without fear of reprisal. Is this America?
  19. djs111, You said it all. I especially agree with your "wealth is privatized, losses are socialized." I do not understand why most people do not see that. I have friends that are on social security and medicare and still vote Republican. Explain that? Another friend has a theory that people that are not really wealthy, and do not stand to benefit from trickle down Republican economic policy, but still vote and claim to be Republicans, are just trying to be better than the rest of us. Sad, that they would vote against the party that actually represents their interests. I have already voted, and you can guess what party I voted for. I like donkey's. Remember Clay rode on one. (mule, but still part donkey)
  20. I just went to Savannah, Georgia on Air Tran. They had really good fares. I was apprehensive because I had never heard of Air Tran before. It was very reliable. The planes were old and some of the seats were torn. They held up the return flight because one of the tray tables would not stay up. They fixed it with duct tape. I thought that was funny because the maintenance guy told me that it was not duct tape, but a special tape that was a very strong adhesive, and would not come loose. It came loose a few minutes after we took off! LOL Even so I would fly Air Tran again because of the price, and they did get us there on time. I was happily surprised that they served free soft drinks and pretzels. For the price of the flights, I thought we would get served NADA! Go for it Couchie!
  21. Is j4clay the woman who does Clay's Daily Double? I know that this woman is very religious and is from Houston. Just wondering?
  22. Here is a poem that Achin4Aiken wrote as to how she thinks that Clay may be feeling. She said it could travel. I thought it was sweet. There is a post script from her on the bottom. As I sit here and struggle with this inside me I wonder how things will now be Will I be accepted for who I really am? Or will they feel like it was all a scam? Everyone has something they feel they must hide Maybe from fear or for a loss of pride. Who is to say what one must do When the world has a certain image of you. I tried to decide when to let the real me Be who I knew myself to be. There was no good time to reveal The way I knew myself to feel. So I want to rectify it or try To those who feel they were told a lie I didn’t mean to do hurt any of my fans Believe me that was not in my plans. I hope you will all stand behind me For it is because of you, you see Maybe one day you will all understand This is not what I had planned. Lately my life is a little darker Even though I did this for little Parker I hope each one of you plans to stay Because no matter what, I am still Clay. I wonder if Clay might be feeling kind of like this. It is how I imagine things are for him not knowing how his fans feel. I hope he knows his real fans are here for him….always!
  23. I watched this. OMG poor Sarah, she is dense and inarticulate. Now I am beginning to understand why men, who did not like Hillary like Sarah. They are not threatened by her intelligence. Ooops, I promised myself that I was not going to thrash her. It is getting hard not to though. I also watched the Utube on her comments on foreign policy. WOW Unbelievable!
  24. Wise words for everyone. I wonder if Clay confided in her awhile ago and if she offered him any advise..... I am a big fan of Rosie. When she defended Clay against Ripa, the words she used upset a lot of Clay fans because they felt that she had misspoken and called Clay gay. Afterwords, she said on the View that she and Clay spoke often, that they had been talking and that he understood what she was trying to say. I got the feeling that she was giving him advise, not necessarily about being gay, but just being supportive of him. Now, that Clay has the same publicist that Rosie does, I wonder if he confided in her and if Rosie had anything to do with him getting that publicist or if he had that publicist before. I thought I had read somewhere that his publicist was male. IMO Rosie is supportive of Clay, and I am glad that they are friends. Rosie, even with her abandonment issues, is a good person.
  25. Clay was very wise to allow the venting on the OFC. As for those who are abusing his generosity, IMO they need to get a life. I get the feeling that this is their moment in the sun, and they are filled with a self importance about their opinions that most people don't give a a flying fig about. IMO, they need to let it go and get the hell out of this fandom. It seems like for them, it was never about Clay, just about them. For the fans that are genuinely hurting, Clay gave them the opportunity to talk about and express how they really felt. How many people would do that? From these fans, Clay will become even stronger than he already is when he reads how they are processing through their own filters. IMO Clay will use this input for his own personal growth. He has always seemed to me to thrive from adversity IMO.
