  1. [[[claygasm}}} Hi all! I'm baaaack! :F_05BL17blowkiss: and getting vv excited about Spamalot sometime in April. Travel agent is booking our tickets but I don't know if he knows the absolute URGENCY and IMPORTANCE of doing this asap! Or I might combust or explode!!! Anyway we have now paid for all airfares so it really is happening! EEEEEEE. That is all. Now back to catching up.
  2. I would like to join the 5 foot tall club! jmh my mum told me when I was 5 yrs old and crying because the kids were calling me names for being so small to tell them " I am not shrimpy , I am petite! and thats a good thing for a lady!" I get a laugh now about how funny I must have looked, arching my eyebrows, saying my piece, and walking off with my head held high! {{{luckiest}}} :F_05BL17blowkiss: I hope you and your son get the results you need. I have had a few talks with my younger son lately about the kids teasing him for being so short. Even though being short doesn't worry me I know it is different for boys. It just breaks my heart to see my happy go lucky sweet little boy realise that sometimes people are just nasty for the sake of it, or jealousy or whatever. I do feel like smacking a few of them but since that is frowned upon we have been working out comebacks for him to say. The best is "How long did it take you to think that one up? Ages ,I bet" It might not help the situation but it gives him some power. I hope there is a big growth spurt in store for him but since I am 5' and his Dad is 5'9" ( and the giant of his family) I don't think he will end up a six footer!
  3. Hey Luckiest I have had the opposite problem with my little stint in OZs tropical north! It was 30-35 degrees (celsius) I don"t know how to convert to farenheit but suffice to say that , when added to high humidity, it was damn hot! Also our apartment was on the top of a very steep hill which was lovely for views and breezes but punishing for that last bit of the walk home. I arrived back home yesterday and it's still hot here but not quite so bad. So now I will have to put myself on a strict " going to America must get fit and lose 10 kilos (20+ pounds)" regime. We leave here in early April so there is not much time! The batteries in my scale have gone flat while I was away so I will remedy that today. I am scared what it will say.......
  4. Welll, what an "interesting" couple of days!!! Hard to believe but some OTT and what the? posts (on other boards of course) now make a bit more sense. And I will pass on all your best wishes to Clay when I am staying with him in his NY apartment next year. He invited me by secret email. Shhh don't tell anyone!!! I will not be posting for some weeks as I am leaving tomorrow to join my husband for the school holidays. I may be able to read at the library(I hope) but will not have access to my own computer. So Merry Christmas to all at FCA,hope you and yours have a safe and happy time. :F_05BL17blowkiss:
  5. BWAH Actually, EvilClive Mandated that bunny ears be worn by ALL persons attending M&Gs and by Clay every time he appears on TV doing publicity for his new rabbit-themed CD. Good thoughts coming your way {{{CG}}}
  6. Just curious, what are panties called in Australia? Bloomers? Drawers? Undies usually, or knickers or pants. Oh and thongs are what you might call flip flops. We refer to those instruments of torture as g-strings.
  7. Anyone want to caption this picture??? " Ouch, these dangling participles are givin me hell tonight. wonder if some big-girl panties would help?" Yes, I am now a postho. (got the lingo down and everything)
  8. I just want to add that I will now will make my solemn vow to use the phrase "big-girl panties" as many times as possible each day, even though the word "panties" is not in common use in Aust. seriously the original quote should be a thread title.
  9. Anyone want to caption this picture??? " Oooh-wooh I love me some of them gals in big girl panties!!"
  10. Hey Play usually when I lose my sunglasses they're on top of my head....
  11. RE: stone throwing, I thought that CG was just saying "this might be unpopular" and I have not noticed any serious stone throwing around here ( I do work at being a bit thick skinned though.. I find it helps with life in general!) I do agree though that the review seemed balanced. Not a good one but at least the guy seemed to have thought about it, researched him , saw the show and then decided that it was just not his cup of tea. He didn't belittle the fans or drag in any tabloid gossip or childish innuendo. IMO this is what I expect from a professional reviewer although unquestioning adoration would be nice.... ETA: You people are Christmas dynamos!! I am heading north to join my husband this year so will not be doing any prep until about the 20th. eeek
  12. Interesting discussion about clack and so many valid points made both for and against. My 2c worth? If it were not for clack I most likely would not be here. When I first caught Clay on Martha Stewart and then on Larry King I thought " Great Voice, cute accent, think I'll get the CD" Of course it wasn't in the shops. I don't know if any of his cds have been released in Australia. That then sent me to the internet and so I discovered message boards and clack. The clack is what made me stay. His personality as an entertainer is not apparent on a cd and it is this that the clack conveys so well. The clack does not dissuade me from seeing a concert, it does exactly the opposite, and I am sure I'm not alone in this . I would imagine that many of his foreign fans feel the same. I have zero opportunity of seeing a concert normally and very little chance of seeing any of his TV appearances so the clack is what keeps me a fan and hoping to buy cds. When we decided to go to the USA next year I crossed my fingers that there would be a concert I could attend but I didn't hold much hope because the Christmas concerts would not be long finished and he would likely be working on the cd . I posted here my excitment about Spamalot!! (saw the travel agent yesterday,we're looking at first half of April, 6 nights in NY!!!!) If it were not for the clack I would not know about this since I would have drifted away when I did not know what you all were excited about. I like to see and decide for myself and make up my own mind.Yes ,I agree its hard to tell from clack ( and thats why I don't often post opinions about concerts etc) but it entertains me enough that I still wanna hang around and see what happens next!! What I really want to say with this long winded post is :F_05BL17blowkiss: to the clack gatherers! :F_05BL17blowkiss: to Clack Unlimited!
  13. Hey Wanda Still, a little freaky can be fun......What!....just sayin!! Yay for Couchie !! You go you 'put up with no messin' good thing!!
  14. nnnnoooo!!! I just typed up a post and lost it!! I am now running really late so I will just paraphrase what I wrote before (in such an eloquent way tooo ) 1. I won't leave ansa hangin' 2. I don't know much about those other boards , I love FCA! 3. I have enjoyed all the opinions and opinions on opinions of the last few days. 4. I love the openmindedness I find here whether it be about Clay and his personal or work business, or other posters, or the concerts or the CD etc etc 5. I love the grown up FCA ladies and hearing about their thoughts, their familes and their lives. 6. Who ever said a couple pages back that Clay wasn't CUTE should wash their mouth out! In fact, call the really mean admin with the purple ink / stilletoes!! ( hot and studly was mentioned but that's no excuse) !
  15. {{{ jumpingjacks}}} {{{Zena}}} I thought you sounded sad a few pages back. Hope your FIL is OK Sheiladownunder you CMU!! I have to ask what exactly you were cleaning with toothpicks!!?? Liney I have read a little of the " circle the wagons" post but can you tell me about Clays' reaction which you mentioned?
  16. :F_05BL17blowkiss: {{{ Muski}}} Better Days ( and conferences) ahead .....
  17. :F_05BL17blowkiss: Thank you FCA ladies for all your kind suggestions on spyware/virus blockers! Great to hear all your Christmas memories. I am in the group that has no great stories to tell. The last ten years or so has seen me preparing a cold buffet for 15-20 family and in laws and trying to keep the peace. It's good if the hostess doesn't suffer a meltdown. Then the day after (boxing day), is the day I get to relax. My sister and her DH and 2DS and us get together to blimp out around the pool , eat leftovers, make cocktails and watch our boys run wild! This year will be a bit different coz my DH has taken a temp position up north ( in the tropics) for six months and as soon as the kids start their six week summer holidays we will be joining him. So this will be the first year it has just been the four of us for Christmas day.I think Imight check out the hotels or restaurants and get waited on myself.
  18. {{{soulsistah}}} One saying I always repeat to myself when I am down is: " Never mind, better days ahead" Somehow this has stuck with me over the years and I always find it comforting to know that it is true. :F_05BL17blowkiss: ETA: I'm off now to buy a Spyware Doctor program. Suddenly a couple of days ago I started getting some "weird" pages and adds come up whenever I tried to log in to FCA or CU! I have to get it sorted out before my kids discover these and get some extra "education"!!
  19. clayslaugh What ever name you use you're welcome here!
  20. Hey wandacleo, I noticed only two of us also . Of course I keep forgetting to log out so it might look like I am living here...... ETA: These clips are all new to me and all I can say is the voice was always there....even if the clothes weren't. ETA: You know what I meant!!!!
  21. ldsmom1!! Hope you like it here.
  22. Hey I'll be here! :clay: Unless I win lotto and can convince my husband that 30 plus hours in transit and half a years salary is perfectly reasonable for a Christmas concert or two........
