  1. Uh... ..I mean....how did you KNOW? Lots of practice and experience. Whew! For a minute there I was afraid you were looking in our window last night!
  2. I've spent a lovely Valentine's Day (and night) with hubby and so just got on here and read through a few pages, and may I say that I'm a bit squicked out to read ncgurrl's post: Uh... ..I mean....how did you KNOW?
  3. Is that Kelly? I thought she was performing somewhere else and wasn't going to be there?
  4. I'm with you here, Couchie. Good Lord...enough! Call me heartless, but at this point I think most of the public "I'm still struggling, so give me break" posts are just to keep attention on them. BWAH! I was thinking the same thing! Yeah, I'm having some 'struggles' with some of these lyrics, too. Maybe I'm slow, but.... Today my hubby and I are going to see "The Reader". We both are in love with Kate Winslett. My younger daughter is going to a friend's Valentine party tonight. The instructions were to dress "Funky Formal"...heh...So she's wearing her sister's last year's prom dress---a really pretty sleeveless red above-the-knee flowing dress with accordion pleats. She looks disturbingly beautiful in it. I said, "So where's the 'funky' part, Carrie?" Her answer? "Oh, you're going to take me shopping 'cuz I need some high-top Converse shoes." So she's wearing this gorgeous dress...and some cool high-top Converses, white with all kinds of black swirly writing on them, that have blue and white ribbon laces! I hope Clay's jaw pain isn't going to prevent him from doing some Valentine Day kissing and whatnot...
  5. oooh liney! I know! I know who that woman was! :pickme: It was totallyinluv! Heh! She was MY first in-person Clay friend meeting, too! (heh...she's such a slut...she really gets around, doesn't she? )
  6. I love it when Clay talks about being swollen.
  7. Ah, yes, keepingfaith...indeed. The man was not only 'dirty' , but quite prophetic as well, hmmmmm?
  8. Oooh! Oooh! :pickme:? Can I choose which part I touch (Scarlett...I wasn't sure about your post re: my joke comment? I was snarking on someone's comment on OFC when Clay came out that she was okay that Clay was gay as long as he didn't actually have sex with another man.)
  9. Ok that's it, that's the straw...I am outta here. I just can't take it any more!!!! Well, I don't mind that he tells dirty jokes...just so he doesn't tell them GAY dirty jokes. You know...jokes that talk about guys actually.... ..... having sex with each other!
  10. :pickme: But wait! I'm flying home from Atlanta TOMORROW! That's not the weekend, is it? Crap. That means no stopover in Houston. Crap. Well, hell. Have a for me! :me0:
  11. OMG...you know this conference I go to every year? It's in Atlanta now, but has been in New Orleans amd Houston and Charlotte... Well, guess where it's going to be NEXT year? :o OMG... CANCUN! I have to lose mucho pound-ohs!
  12. liney, although I THINK I've thought this all alone, I know this is the first time somebody's put it in words in a simple and thorough way that just.makes.sense! And I had to laugh at someone's post at CH that said something like, "Just once I want Justin Timberlake to be introduced as 'the former Mousekateer'.. BWAH! :lmaosmiley-1:
  13. Damned straight! (heh)....but I imagine the price of titanium would...er...rise since every male would rush to coat their own pitiful balls with 'Eau d' Aiken'.....
  14. ausdon, I'm ashamed to say that I haven't even seen the news and didn't know about the Austrailia's fires! OMG..they sound tragic! I hope they're under control soon without further deaths...
  15. I certainly agree in theory...and at the same time, I think it's either going to take a MAJOR re-do of Clay's 'image' in the general population into someone who is 'cool' and/or a kick-ass song that makes it impossible for the idiotic powers that be to ignore THE VOX and its unique ability to reach into your soul and transport it....
  16. Couchie, I'm in HOTlanta! At my annual professional association conference...Had a full day of workshops, then went to an English pub (waves to merrieee) and came back to the hotel room to check out the internet and catch the Grammies. Coldplay is fine...sort of blah for me, but not objectionable. My younger daughter LOVES The Jonas Brothers and I've seen them before when they sounded better to my ears, but I just didn't think they sounded as good tonight. Okay...who's the very pregnant woman rapping as an intro to Kanye West? And what the HELL is she wearing? Wait, I guess she's not just an intro...she's still there...and now Lil Wayne has joined the crew...? Well, obviously, if Clay WERE to be a part of this show, he'd be right after this act. WAIT! It's not Clay! It's Sir Paul singing "And I Saw Her Standing There"...he shore looks good for an old man. Heh...that long-haired drummer doesn't look a thing like Ringo!
  17. bottle...yep...I suffered through Kid Rock....and then through Taylor Swift and Miley Cyrus...(Holy crap. Why are we supposed to think these two girls can sing?)...And just watched Jennifer Hudson make it through her song. Not my favorite song of hers but she looks amazing (unfortunately, grief is probably the main reason she's slimmed down)...and she held it together until the very last line. When they showed the audience, Nicole Kidman was starting to lose it, I think. And Carrie Underwood? You know, I've always liked Carrie. I think she can sing the schiznitz out of a song...but the one she sang tonight sounded so much like so many other songs...it's as if each performer is trying to out SHOUT the previous one and have the loudest band.... :italianflick: Oh...and I gotta tell ya...I'm at a professional conference (as an attendee this time) and one of the presenters showed up on stage, wearing a yellow bowtie and matching silk handkerchief in his suit pocket. ETA: Oh god. Now...the freakin' JONAS Brothers trying to share the stage with Stevie WOnder? I need to go to bed. Oy...
  18. Good grief. I don't like the Claymate term. So freaking sue me. I guess I'm just in some sort of arrested development and will feel differently when I've 'found myself'. For me, "Claymate" is to "Clay Fan" as "Fat" is to "Voluptuous"... I'd rather be seen as voluptuous than fat. Even though the weight is the same. Good night.
  19. akim, I used the word "majority" in the context that I believe that we Clay fans (including Claymates) are indeed NOT the majority of the people in the world! I believe that in the grand scheme of things in life, the number of Clay's fans is quite small....yet I also believe that the media has made the word "Claymate" conjure up a certain TYPE of Clay fan to those who do not follow him closely or know much about him or his music---again, 'those' being a majority of the population of the world! Maybe "negative" is the wrong adjective. Maybe I mean "heard or spoken with an eyeroll or snicker or smile of patronization"...or any other reaction along those lines that I don't particular enjoy. As for "Deadheads"...I wasn't/am not particularly a fan of the Grateful Dead (don't hate 'em, don't love 'em) so I can't speak for how a casual fan of theirs feel about possibly being assumed to be a Deadhead! and cindilu...I agree that 'rude' doesn't necessarily equal "Clay fan". There are other adjectives, however, that I wouldn't be so quick to dismiss as being quickly identified with Claymates. Luckily for us, I can't get into those, though....since my kids are giving me dirty looks, evidently expecting me to provide dinner or something. KIDS these days!
  20. I LOVED Bruce....blast from the past and he's still the Boss, IMO. Wish I had his energy...must've been cool for the E Street Band to reunite and do that....(but Van Zandt is definitely showing his age! ) I'm no Claymate because to the majority of the world (translated: all the people who are not the online fandom) the term has a negative connotation and is associated with that faction of Clay's fans that I believe are at the end of the bell-curve. Sure, I guess that's true of many labels...I just choose not to identify or appreciate being immediately associated with that faction when I say I'm a fan of the man. (It's really neither here nor there, though---ain't voting on a poll or suing anybody over the word) Re-up? Eh. Whatever. The blogs are the only thing I've ever enjoyed about 'membership'...I'm not rushing to check when my membership expires as I don't particularly believe that my $30-$35 is a crucial show of support for him that will make or break his success; nor do I think Team Clay thinks so, either. (Of course, I can't presume to know what TC really thinks...I'm just expressing what I think it thinks! ) My 'fandom' is my friends, the message boards (unless we're in that time in our cycle where we eat our own), the traveling to concerts, buying his cds and then enjoying his voice on my iPod and in my car, and having fun watching and listening to him talk. I can do that without the OFC, so I'm not really feeling a need right now to 'join'. Now when "HE BLOGGED!" appears and I run over to find that my $30 has run out, I'll pull out my mother's debit card and run the numbers! spikesmom, so glad you're reading Tara Janzen....Don't you just LOVE the men she creates?
  21. Well, cindilu I certainly respect and appreciate your banner and wallpaper, et al, talents...but I'll have to just uh bypass this particular banner when logging in....So many beautiful shots of Clay I enjoy looking at more. I'm happy that he's happy and having a good time with a honey, but oy...I'm just not lovin' the Orville Popcorn King look... So hubby's off to Seattle for a few days, older daughter's at a friend's b-day party and younger daughter just woke up from a 4 hour nap after playing a double header softball game! Dinner? well...uh...I pointed Carrie to the Bagel Bites in the freezer and I'm having some ice cream.
  22. muski watches while some Clay fans get out their PDA's, Day-Timers and whatnot in order to evaluate the chances of making a trip to Paris, Milan and Athens in the upcoming calendar year. checks maps to make sure that none of those places are near own upcoming travel destinations...
  23. oooh! Can we please add this little ditty to our emoticon repertoire? I call it "huh-bwah"
