Glad you like my avie, strummer6! Don't you just love the way his hair moves??? My theory on the long lost Kimmel videos is they are waiting until after the show airs again - isn't that October 27th - to put them up. Hey, its as good an excuse as any! Is the Walmart Soundcheck online over? I haven't checked lately, but if it is, did some technological genius capture them and if so I WANT THEM!!!!!! PROMOTION, SHOMOTION! Damn, I bet each and every teeny little bit of promotion Taylor, Daughtry etc. get will be used as yet another bit of PROOF that RCA was trying to destroy Clay's career. Phffffft! I think Clay is doing just fine. Its not traditional promotion, but every time his gorgeous mug turns up on TV he wins fans. It may not result in immediate album sales, but it may result on a gradually increasing fan base which will bode well for his future. Besides, when Clay is on a TV show it is much more of an event. He takes over even if there are other guests. There is a part of me that thinks the promotion for ATDW wasn't just aimed at selling ATDW but at selling CLAY. He had been out of the public eye for a long time. He had been the subject of nasty crap in the tabloids. And TPTB know that Clay can sell himself just by being himself. So stick him on TV and let him work his magic. You want to spread it out over a period of time because you don't want people to become sick of him (I mean normal people, not "us"!). So even if people are not intrigued by this particular album, they remember (or learn) that he can sing purdy. They find he looks hot. And they see what a personality he is. Clay is more than just a singer. He is an entertainer, a true entertainment personality. Maybe that is what he's promoting this time out - and if he happens to sell a few albums along the way, great. But I think he's promoting for the future. JMO and all that, but as far as I'm concerned, seeing his gorgeous face on my TV often works for me! ETA: After lurking on some other boards, I have to say I am so glad I found this lovely little happy corner of the Clay world!! FCA put the FUN back into being a Clay Aiken fan! {{{FCA}}}

Muski, glad you made it home safe and sound, albeit luggageless! I love Ruben too. He is just such a great guy - a real class act - like someone else we know! And I love that they seem to have formed a friendship that will last. That was something I saw in AI2 that I have never seen again - chemistry and a real sense of friendship among some of the contestents. And Kelly seems to be Clay's true blue friend too. And that makes me all warm and fuzzy inside! (Of course, I am one who kind of wishes Clay was making Kelly feel all warm and fuzzy inside....) Speaking of Ruben, he's singing on the Today show in the last hour. I guess this is to make up for when he got pre-empted by the prez last week. Off to work. Oh joy! (I shouldn't say that. At least I still have a job....)

Hee! I know I have had many a religious experience when I have been in Clay's presence! Funny about "the flu". I met canfly172 at the EAYOR party. There was also another girl there from Little Rock. When we were standing in line not getting into Kimmel, they had cameras going up and down the line and asking us to yell Clay's name etc. She hid behind me (she's short - I'm tall). I asked her why. She said she had told her mother she was going to some business thing in Memphis and she didn't want her to see her on TV or have one of the neighbors see her on TV! Now this is a woman, I would say in her 30's - with a kid! Unbelievable what people will say and do to go see Clay!

Have we seen these pictures from Kimmel posted at iIota?? They are quite yummy (well, except for the ones of the audience....). Now, if only they would get their asses in gear and get that video up! Hee! Muski was in rare form last night! She's quite amusing when she's had a few alcoholic beverages. I remember a pre-Musikfest party in 2004. She was VERY entertaining - VERY - and I have the video to prove it!! :00000462:

ouch...maybe if you render it to another type of file it will fit? did you use mpeg or avi? I think they were all mostly large wmv files. I think. I cut out almost an hour of it and its still too large! I need to find out just how much iDVD can burn. Its so frustrating! But that will have to wait until tomorrow. I have to get up extra early tomorrow to take my car to be inspected before work so I must get to bed. I have spent too much time on this already! Oh well, once I figure it out at least I will know for the next time! I just wish they gave you that information BEFORE you started!

Damn, damn, damn! I just found out iDVD won't burn 2 hours worth of material! So now I have to edit my brilliant (**cough cough**) 2 hour clack movie I made and cut it down to no more than 90 minutes. So much brilliance will end up on the cutting room floor!

BWAH!!! But has she asked Clay to sign an autograph to "Claygasm" yet? You know, when I was out for Kimmel and found out people were getting Clay to sign their CDs with their board names, I thought about that. It might be worth it just to see the look on his face! I wonder if he would ask me what it meant and why I decided on that name??

If not, you at least need to go stand in the parking lot or on the street with a sign and scream youself silly at the limo as it goes by, Claygasm. Somebody needs to make sure that the craz- I mean "enthusiatic" response to each and every announced appearance is kept up. Hee! Maybe I will get a tiara with blinking lights so he'll be sure to see me! In all seriousness, IF this happens, I sure hope they give him a whole hour like they did with Elton John last week and (I hate to say this.....) Barry Manilow this week, and not just the usual 12 minutes or so they usually give the vendors. Both Elton John and Barry Manilow were and are being done remotely so its also possible Clay's will be from one of the Christmas concerts venues. Wonder who the lucky bitch is who will host him??? :glare: God I hope its one of the women and not one of the boring males hosts. (Ok so I have watched it from time to time. Not all their stuff is tacky!) And if this is true my somewhat snarky question carries more importance. Would any sales resulting from QVC be reported to HDD or Soundscan?

Hey, talk about your promotion! Did we know Clay might be on QVC? I mean, I know Elton John just was, but isn't that a little like having an infomercial for your album? And, perhaps more importantly, does QVC report to HDD?? Of course, if he were on QVC and if he were in their studios, he would only be about 15 minutes from my house (ok, so its more like 20 because I never make all the lights going in that direction....)! Maybe they'll have a studio audience. They do that sometimes. Just in case, maybe I should think about who I may know who may have QVC connections..... Hey, Clay is Clay no matter where he is! And clack is clack! Anyway, from Rainlover at the CH: Heard a rumor that Clay was postponed till December and that ATDW would be packaged with MCWL. We shall see......

Actually, CG I'd prefer to enjoy riding Clay and would consider that a wonderful way to manage OUR affair! Made it to Colorado Springs! Am now ducking out of a 'workshop' to find the free wireless in the lobby of this amazingly beautiful place. The speaker and topic originally planned (which actually had relevance) was canceled at the last minute because the speaker fell ill. They got a man to fill in (heh) but his area of expertise "Story Telling to Sell" or some such just ain't my cuppa. :glare: So I'm going to do work while they tell stories. Course, I had to stop in here first... Interesting how so many fans daily drool and bow to the manliness of Clay and then when the going gets bumpy they react as though he were a helpless, pitiful child who couldn't possibly take care of himself in the big bad world. PUH LEEZE. IMO, Mr. Aiken is quite capable of dealing with the various flavors of BS and nastiness that the music business has to offer. In fact, I happen to believe that the very man that he IS invites such adversity because he doesn't back down. If we believe him (and I do), that is how he has always faced life---with his integrity and faith and character intact, thank you---before he entered this particular bacteria-laden pool of asshats. That type of man won't find an easy path...he doesn't choose one. Methinks Mr. Aiken actually gets off on a good face-off. (hee! I said 'gets off' )...I come back to that wonderful Yogi Berra quote---"Wherever you go, there you are." If Clay wants to avoid unpleasantness, he could become Marvin Milktoast and just go along with the flow, you know? But Clay is Clay (thank all the gods) and so will always fight the good fight. And while I'm not tha-rilled that this cd is schmoopy covers for the most part, every time I listen to these songs, I hear something new in Clay's voice, interpretation, breathing, delivery, purity of tone... Dayum, he can sang. Yes he can! I was listening over the weekend for the first time in awhile and even though there is much I don't like on this album, his voice is just so...... divine. Oh and Muski my dear. In regard to the gloating phone message you left me this morning, all I can say is you're a little shit! But I am glad you have a chance to go to some place wonderful and I am glad you have found some free time to enjoy it. You deserve it.

You could download the quicktime player...just google quicktime...its free oh yes please post it on as many clay boards...we really hope the Clay nation can start focusing on more fun things other than just the problems. And won't it be refreshing to focus on the more fun things! With all the upcoming "Idol" releases happening - Ruben, Fantasia, Kelli P., Daughtry, Taylor, Katharine McPhee.... I am sure the boards will be dominated by even more "RCA did Clay wrong" posts and "Clive is evil incarnate" posts yada, yada, yada. May I just say I AM SO SICK OF ALL THAT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! And speaking of things that will set everyone off, Katharine McPhee is getting her own primetime Christmas special! Imagine - and she doesn't even have an album out yet! Obviously its all part of the evil plot to destroy Clay's career! If anyone is interested, Ruben is on The View today. Is it wrong of me to want Ruben's album to do really well? When the first line of his biography on his official site is about how he was overshadowed by Clay, how can I not want him to do really well? Here is what it says: Ruben deserves so much better. See, Clive isn't only out to get Clay. He's out to get Ruben too!

Oh I have loooooooong way to go to be able to compete against some of the masters in this fandom! But I'll keep playing and see if I get any better! The contests sound like fun, though.

Oh Muski!! I am so glad you got your new/used laptop before you left! Whatever would you have done stuck in an airport without it???? Enjoy your little junket and try and find some time to relax. Get a massage or something. You deserve it! I have spent almost my whole weekend sitting in front of my computer playing with iMovie! I started playing with it during the week, but this weekend I have become obsessed with figuring out how to do things. I can now put text over video and/or pictures, attach audio to clips, edit said audio and/or video clips, do transitions etc. I sort of played with making a montage - made a mini one - and have new found respect for the master montage makers! At the end of the day, I have a created a 2 hour clack movie! Now if I can just figure out how to export it to iDVD, I can burn it! Oh the things we learn to feed of obsession!

I am answering my own question. How pathetic is that? My friend who was at the Tyra taping just IMed me. It took a REALLY long time. They kept adding segments! He sang ATD and MDYK! I guess its going to air closer to the holidays? He was sitting about 15 feet away from him! He wore 2 jackets and one was velvet or something soft like that. She'll call me with more details. She had good seats for Kimmel too. And Leno. I am jealous. :glare: ETA: Ok, its 4am. I know no one is here but I just got off the phone with my friend who was at Tyra. Here is the scoop told as briefly as possible because I havebeen up for almost 22 hours and I getting a bit tired. She was in the 2nd row, directly in front of the mic. Tiny studio, so they were only maybe 15 feet away. The front row was filled with young girls. They taped the songs first. He came out for ATD. Hair looked BAD. She likened it to Middlesex pictures - parted and pushesd back so he looked like he had a receding hairline. She was shocked! Couldn't believe after all the recent hotness he would look like that! Was wearing drak suit - I think she said black, with gray shirt and tie. Sang ATD. Looked VERY uncomfortable. She kept thinking that the room was so small he was having panic attack. Kept looking at A and Q. Left to change his clothes. About 10 minutes later he came out wearing some kind of soft looking jacket and jeans. Seemed now totally and completely at ease. AND the hair was different! Still not like on Martha, but she likened it to the KTLA hair. A HUGE improvement. Meanwhile, the set had been decorated with Christmas lights and the like. He sat n the stool and sang MDYK. Audience was loud during glory note. They retaped it and asked the audience to be quiet until the end. So he sang it again, both times sitting on a stool. He left again to change. T he took down the Christmas decoration. Next was couch time. She knows he was wearing teh jacket he was wearing during ATD, unsure about the pants, but fiures he almost had to be in the whole suit since the singing segments will be shown on TV after couch time. How they will explain the constantly changing hair I don't know! Anyway, HE F UCKING KISSED TYRA ON THE LIPS!!!! Ok, not like a passionate kiss, but still. AND THE BITCH COULDN'T KEEP HER HANDS OFF CLAY!! She siad they were all getting annoyed (and I suspect jealous) of that. They did 5 - that FIVE - couch time tapings! Not sure what we'll see. She didn't hear a lot because they didn't have speakers in the audience! They did talk about his house, ad the usual stuff. Nothing about the crap or the panic attacks. I already forget what else she said they talked about. It took a really long time. The tapings started around 4pm (or a bit later) and she didn't get out of there until after 8pm! She said he was cute and funny and she loved it and was very surprised. They were told to check Tyra's website for when the show would air. Oh, one of the tatoo girls from Kimmel was there and he saw her and had her come up on stage (I don't thik this was taped) and he gave her a big hug. And get this. She is married with 3 kids! My friend asked her what her husband thought of her having Clay's name tatooed on hr back and she said he didn't care! I thought it was weird they had it done to begin with, but learning she is married with 3 kids to me makes it weirder. Anyway, bottom line is, for the couch time and for MDYK his hair looked ok - more like KTLA hair but for ATD it looked awful! But he was very cute and she loves him. So that's your Tyra report for the night. I think I will go to bed now. After all, its now ust 4:20am. I think I will be sleeping in. And if there are any typos -s orry, but I ain't proofreading!

OK I know the story of how it came to be used in the fandom...but is this a common euphemism or very clay specific. I can do you one better. I know what it means - I'm not that stupid - but I have no idea how this euphemism came to be, whether its Clay specific or not. I had never heard it before! How did it come to be used in the fandom??? How did it come to be - period? I am so woefully naive.........

Gorsh... This must be what Clay was talking about when he said how he felt if something got broken at his house and his folks asked him if he had done it. They already had decided he had, so why ask the question, you know? (prostrated before you) "I confess! I confess! It is I who broke the smut lamp!" wasn't it? Was there ever any doubt???

What a perfect analogy - after all what you are picking up in both cases is the same thing!! Only your dog's probably smells better..... :glare: I was thinking the same thing. This place does "rawk"!!

oh yes had a bit of a twinge too...specially when he said that one of the things he loves about the fans is they support what HE wants to BE...but ya know the vocal gripers have a way of looking at Clay;s words and demeanour and putting their own spin on it...so i dount too many of them wer chastened. :glare: Problem is, many of the fans think they KNOW what Clay wants to be, even if it contradicts what Clay has said. Many times, I think they think they know better than Clay knows Clay. Reminds me of my father who insists he knows me better than I know myself - and he has no clue. :glare:

I can't watch the video again here at work, but I did google a website for Eman Kiriakou. Does it look like the same guy? Based on Eman's pictures, he has pretty distinctive eyebrows... I DOES look like the same guy but I also can't watch the video from work, so I will check more closely when I get home. I'll tell you one thing: If Clay and Eman's collaborations result in songs like BW and LAA, I hope they collaborate a whole lot more in the future! Vampire expedition?????????????? :o
