  1. Beautiful new site mods! I thought I had to log in and got "incorrect" on my password. So I asked for a new one, which I see was totally unnecessary! Chach, gorgeous wallpapers. I go see Hicks tomorrow. Have a blast. YSRN, guh. Just guh. He looks like one of those old movie matinee idols facially. YOu just wanna squish him at the same time, he's so cute. I wrote a short Clangela story a coupla years back after being inspired by the JBT- I think it's still at CV somewhere called "Sailing" and "Melody Unchained". And talking about writing, I submitted a song to the AI song contest today. My hubby really helped so much as I am technically "challenged". We figured out how to record on a PC and make an mp3. file. I wrote the song last week, so it was a challenge to play piano, sing and get it fairly right in about 12 takes. No wonder they record line by line these days and sound so perfect. I don't have that know how. But it was like a weekend seminar for us and now I can catalog my other songs and compose with my keyboard all the New Age-y stuff with multi tracking that I love. Planet Earth on tonight at 8 on Discovery! This is one amazing show, my friends.
  2. YSRN, my darling, thanks! :F_05BL17blowkiss: I found myself whimpering over those lashes , lips, freckles.......etc. As Lewis Carroll said in "The Jabberwocky", Caloo, callay Oh frabjous day! It is indeed a frabjous day for UNICEF, the fandom and our teacherman!
  3. Wonderful day! So proud of our Clay! And all those Afghani kids. Empower the girls and world will be a better place. And in other news, this from DeepSouthGurrl at the CH: "I have several friends who are Harry Connick, Jr. fans. They are pretty much like we are...travel all over to see multiple concerts, etc. One of them sent me this...thought I would like it for obvious reasons. Quote: Harry was going on this long rant about AI, specifically the Tony Bennett episode and he talked about how Seacrest made some comment like "when one legend met another" referring to Sanjaya meeting Tony. And Harry was all "the hell? how is Sanjaya legendary? he's been singing for like 5 weeks... i've been busting my butt for 18 years" something like that... he's going on and on... and then he says , "if you're going to throw around the 'legend' label... at least go with Clay Aiken" I think I'm liking Harry a little more today." Love it!
  4. Hey, play, I'm embarrassed by what goes on at the OFC and I think the same things you do, so I'm never on the boards there. I hope and pray that Clay doesn't think that that is the sole representation of the fandom. eta: I do know there are some mighty wonderful folks over there too, but the overwhelming negative tone is just too much for me.
  5. Oh, jeez, Y :medium-smiley-070: , my tired eyes saw "get clit Clay" or something like that. I guess Sanjaya got to me tonite!
  6. I wanna see our boy win over the Pizza Hut redneck crowd with his joking around, snark, some major eyefucking and a long , lean lazy "Git 'er done, boys". They'll love 'em. He grew up around NASCAR after all. He knows that culture well. It will probably be one of the more memorable shows. Oh, what a night! And JOey Fatone was hot! Er... back to Clay. A regular goatscrew that scheduling is. Dreamy, you're the top! Who was that gorgeous music by? Bearded boy looks like one of those counts from "War and Peace". Clay's got to do a photo spread dressed in multiple period costumes. He just cuts such a fine figure . I want to see him on the cover of a Harlequin romance, the heroine (Tyra) arched backward, breasts half-bared and heaving as caped Count Aikenov poises over her ready to plunge! I'll go back in my cage now.
  7. I don't know how to do the quote thingy, so the lovely YSRN said ever so succinctly: "OF COURSE, in real life I can understand that he didn’t do it for me. And really, I’m not that selfish of a human being that I’d want him to be unhappy to please me. Seriously. And I don’t understand the accusations of such a thing either from some people who rush to make sure I understand how selfish I’m being by telling me it's about him and his happiness. Circle back to “we’re all fans for, and of, different things”. I don’t “love” Clay. I love him though. I love him like ice cream. And baseball. I love how he affects ME. Which is totally different than I love him, therefore I sacrifice anything for his happiness. I don’t. I think some fans expect that of other fans though. I adore him and I want him to be happy, of course, but I want that for every human on this earth. In the fandom experience though, I don’t need everyone to be the same. Or like the same things. And I most definitely don’t need them to be quiet if they don’t have anything positive to say! *shudder* I want to hear what real people think, otherwise I could just talk to myself and hear what I wanna hear all day. The "true fan" thing drives me insane!" Thankyou, YSRN, I couldn't agree more. Just because you may like or not like something doesnt' mean you don't want his happiness or that you're all shallow and shit. I am a high visual type as well. Some of the most erotic pictures of Clay I've ever seen are the ones where he's singing, mouth open and you don't see any teeth. It's like that mouth is a sexual organ all it's own. I expect to catch flack for this one. Now I see a game show host's mouth or something and he's still fabulous and all, but it's a different thing. Over time, I probably won't even notice it . I look forward to sitting with you under the pergola covered with flowers and vines and sipping tea and having a good laugh . Prayers and hugs for everyone caught in the Texas angst. Jeez, Louise, who's in charge here?
  8. I just posted this at the CH regarding the twists and turns of events of our "hero"! Curiouser and curiouser. eta: Clay: "Meep! Meep!" Yes, he's the Roadrunner and it seems like everyone else is Wile E. Coyote trying to make sense of this tour!!!!!! Or he's the Rabbit in Alice in Wonderland who just dropped down the hole! Savonnette- he's a Fool archetype, too! The Rabbit- maybe that explains the new choppers! I told you I was goofy and definitely a Fool! (any Tarot enthusiasts around here?) :TourExcite:
  9. Muski, I think you are way too hard on yourself. When life gets bumpy and rough, I use the "boards" as a pacer, a way of down shifting. Doesn't mean I'm on them all the time, actually even less now. But it's a way of taking a breath, allowing myself to put things on the back burner and let stuff just process itself. I try to achieve balance in my life- still learning as a matter of fact. I am grateful to Clay and the fandom for one thing for sure. When it all began, I was a very ill camper going through family strife, deaths and my own medical trauma. I had no energy, I was becoming reclusive. "Clayworld" helped to pull me out of it. It got me up and going and getting on planes like my big trip to "Broadfest" in St. Louis for the IT Tour with my dearly departed brave friend, Kathleen( Mother Superior). She was dealing with her first round of breast cancer and together we flew. And what a fantastic time we had with the Broads rockin' and rollin' it up at the Hard Rock Cafe. Musk, you would've been proud of me- there are pictures on the internet of me dancing on top of a table with a huge blown-up microphone. So all in all, it's been a wonderful thing except for the black negativity of The Mess times. Now I am stronger and more engaged in my life , although I am going through another "not knowing" time which can be scary. But that's about believing in my self, my way, my timing for my own unfolding. I'm thankful for THIS board because I can be my goofy self around nice people who also get a bang out of Clay.
  10. Interesting question, musk. I have been feeling the "intensity" waning over the months. I see it as a natural and healthy change for me. I'm getting more involved with my artistic growth, I think. Like couch, I like spending less time on the boards, yeah, I'll do that quick breeze through at the CH, but it's pretty much the same ol' same ol' these days. I can get in the car, turn on my shuffle deck and still sa-woon when I hear a certain Clay song. And I listen to a lot of others too. Love my Sting greatest hits album, for example- what a songwriter/singer. He inspires me since I do the same thing. A countertenor named Thomas Otten sends me. Can't wait to see Bo in May. I have the same reaction to Clay's teeth you do. It's not really just about the teeth. They're bigger, longer, beefier. God bless him, the man has a right to do whatever he wants and who cares what I think, but they signal something to me, like a kind of facade. Like "I'll never ever look or do vulnerable again". The remark about not singing LAL, the new Paxil enhanced uberconfidence. Gosh, that just sounds so judgmental and I don't mean it to be. I just sense something I can't really put into words or maybe don't feel quite safe putting into words just yet. I'm still a fan, he is still occasionally a sex object to me and when he's not oversinging like he did at the Gala, he can slay me. I'm obviously still here. I'm watching with less angst and intensity and getting ready for some future performances of my own coming up soon, so that's good too. I do get pre-performance anxiety which isn't fun though. Still feel the need to be connected to those in the fandom that I care for. Does any of this make sense?
  11. Yes, lying - and I saw a bit of confusion because methinks she is used to getting treated waaaaaay better because of her "cuteness". Yeah, I think it's called "reckless eyeballs" when they're lying like that. I'm listening to roseviolet's wonderful station today. Does Bo have a new album out? It's way better than "The Real Thing" and I get to see him here in May! I loves me some Bo Bice. Here's the man looking gorgeous and singing "Blades of Glory" from the movie. The blue tux is hilarious. I forgot how to do the hot link thing- would someone PM me with the formula? Here's Bo on YOuTube: . The stuff with Will Ferrell and the other guy as a skating pair is funny, too. Hi sweet K'andre. Did you say we're indistinguishable? Well, I'm complimented and that is all. Mother did have one hell of a long wait for you to make your entrance after me. Like 10 years. Let it be said no one tells you when to get up and move! To me you are a cross between Maya Angelou and May West- not bad! Hub says howdy. :F_05BL17blowkiss: Kimmel: I've always found him to be attractive. All this cat talk is making me want to get up and adopt soon. Clay and cats: I almost dumped BF in the beginning for that remark. Now I feel for the guy. There are specialists who can eliminate phobias by guiding your eyeball movement. It's like unlocking a short circuit in the brain. He was traumatized by the dead kitty incident and who knows what Big Daddy Ray did to him after that.
  12. Excellent , tell it like it posts and assessments, folks. And Muski, I really here ya on the "sorority" atmosphere that can sometimes prevail. Just for laughs, where I went to school, UCSC, there were no fraternities or sororities so just for shits and grins we made up some silly ones like: Delta Ki (my personal favorite) Phelta Thi Pigma Sty Our intramural dorm ball teams had silly names like "The Cunning Linguists" ( hence my descriptive at CH) and my favorite "The Nads". The best part was the cheer, of course. "Go, Nads, go!" And yes, the fandom should be fun, fun, fun! "Life is a banquet and most poor sons of bitches are starving to death!"- the late, great Mame Dennis. I wonder what Tony Bennett would've thougt of BF singing Mack the Knife or anything.
  13. I must agree with Ms. Muski. What was the "horrendous" act she committed in the past? I am so clueless when it comes to fan matters. I am thrilled that Clay is finally being recognized for his good works as well as his talent. I wish I was walking with you two , couch and musk !!! I did walk around the Tidal Basin yesterday to admire the cherry blossoms. Come to DC anytime, FCA'ers! Does Clay have a body double who is gonna take on the Tulsa and the Dallas dates simultaneously with Clay? Will he lip sync? Will this be a case of Milla Clanilli- or more to the point- just plain Claymydia? That's what I call my fandom at any rate.
  14. ROSEVIOLET! I love your station, but everytime I click on the link, I get the push to join window and no music. I can't find anyway to just get to the music. Helllpp! I love your setlists! :F_05BL17blowkiss:
  15. Ok, Couch, I just read he was Quincy Jones' protegee and even worked with him on the Color Purple. Clay could not be in better company.
  16. Couch, David wrote stuff for Earth Wind and Fire and Chakha Khan as well as hundreds of great songs for many others . Just google him, it's staggering. He played in Chuck Berry's band at age 15. He wrote "After the Love Has Gone"(EWF), "Through the Fire" (Chakha), "Can't Slow Down" for Lionel Richie for example. Tons of megahits for many artists. I once found a song list site that was perfect. Can't get it today. But yes, he could write soul for Clay. He also played keyboards and piano for The Wiz!
  17. If only he understood how enriching and healing his voice AND his personally written songs can be.
  18. A night with Clay? Or are they auctioning off time spent nestled in Clay's Love Sac?
  19. Turn off your mind Relax and float downstream.... :F_05BL17blowkiss:
  20. I had this great dream last night, girls. I was at a gathering of juicy, succulent women when the guest of honor arrived- not Clay, but Bette Midler! (Her birthday is December 1, BTW) She immediately took off her clothes and was sporting little green flowerettes on her nipples. She looked like a goddess. Musk, your bathroom disaster is a recurring nightmare of mine (in dreams). Hope the rest of your day goes better. Nice work , chach- create away! In rehearsal today with a Celtic harpist for an upcoming performance at the local park. Big nite tonite! What will the teeth sing? The world awaits.
  21. Totally OT, but Clayzorback, or should I say "Backy" , I just took a closer gander at your avi and it is gorgeous. I must be really blind because for the longest time I thought it was a pizza. Yeah, it must have stung for Clay to hear all the negative reactions to his album. I want so badly for him to be proud of it. He did a wonderful job indeed. Re nicknames: I'm just an incurable cunning linguist who loves wordplay and I make like the Brits when it comes to names. They shorten everything up. Someone once said that if Niagara Falls was in England , it would be called "Niffles" by now! Hugs cute little Gazzy :F_05BL17blowkiss: And for the record ldy, I never did get one of those medieval names when I joined the Dreamers of Perilous Visions in the Shire of Monterey! I need one! !
  22. Thanks, Gazzy, I found a quick link over at CH and really dl'd them. I wish I could WATCH him speak. I love the way he enunciates and yet has that definite Carolina accent. Like "I wuddn't", for example. He sounds so goofy and vulnerable at times- not the sexy swagger of the NaCT06 guy. So many personae has he. Fascinating. I'm thrilled that he is not only a fabulous lyricist but a talented arranger as well. Damn , I'd love to work with him! I'm just gonna have to write that one great song! I bet he's got entire songs or parts of songs just lying around on tape that he wrote.
  23. Okay, I dl'd those interviews yesterday and now they are nowhere to be found !! Can someone help me refind the interviews? I hit "Your Idols" and all I get is Daughtry's ass. I thought that once you dl'd the interviews they would be yours for keeps??? Help, please...... And in other news, it's a stunningly beautiful springday here in Virginnny. Plums, Bradford pears, cherry blossoms. Y'all come1 Love seeing couchie in ecstasy!
  24. Well, I learned a lot here today. Great posts. I just finished reading "You'll Never Nanny in this Town Again" by Suzanne Hansen. She was a nanny to CAA giant Michael Ovitz' family. What a frickin' nightmare! It's a must read. It also honors the real hard work of everyday moms- unlike the celebs who appear to be masters of discipline and time management. In actuality they have loads of staff to do everything for them. There are some who don't who are cool like Debra Winger and Danny deVito and Rhea Perlman. There are many magnificent animal rescue groups and proponents of humane treatment of animals. It doesn't mean that one is automatically a supporter of PETA when one honors these groups. Can't wait to meet you too , Claygasm :F_05BL17blowkiss: .
