  1. But couchie -- it sounds like you get earthquakes! Did you feel it? Everyone OK?
  2. With apologies to aikim... SNOW DAY TODAY!!! Woohoo! Colleges do tend to close around here when it's snowy. I think we've gotten about 4 inches of new snow overnight, and then the wind is supposed to begin to blow (which means drifting). Anyway, it means I can sit around, drink coffee, and pet my cats. LOL. Thanks for the compliment Fear. I try my best to keep both the articles section here, and the articles and timelines sections on FCA up to date. However, I will admit that I don't read around that much any more, so if people find things, go ahead and post them! I need to get into the habit of reading CV, as they seem to get news first anymore.
  3. Please take care liney! I hope everything goes well for you. claycherie, good luck to you as well....
  4. I'm out of practice couchie! Hopefully, I'll have more chances to get in touch with you on this!
  5. From CV: Chris Walden Hmmm...conducting. Sounds like there's an orchestra involved...sounds good to me! He also does big band arrangements, and has worked with the last few seasons of American Idol.
  6. Full time Gleek here! I love so many of the characters, and I really liked how they pulled everything somewhat together at the end of the fall. Can't wait to see where it goes next. I still watch Community as well, and John Olilver did show up for another episode or two this past fall.
  7. From what I was watching this morning on several of the parade pre-shows, the floats all have to be of "natural" ingredients, not necessarily "edible" ingredients. Most the floats seems to be made of flowers, bark (from trees), seeds (such as lettuce and mustard seeds), and ground spices. I'll have to double check on this, but I think there's not a lot of edible food used in the floats. Wasted food makes me totally upset too. I tend to support places that can reuse food (safely, of course). It's hard to find these places, but they are out there.
  8. kim, that poem is great. If I can do half of what it says.... Anyone watching the Rose Parade? I LOVED the snowboarding dogs! And I have to admit that the blind marching band moved me to tears. Talk about inclusion... *envisions Clay making notes for the 2010 Gala*
  9. In this case, stealing is good ya'll! My wish for everyone here is health, happiness and hope. My wish for Clay is the same -- health, happiness, and hope. I love him, want the best for him, but also wants what HE wants. May he have that for the rest of his life...
  10. Oh, this makes me a bit sad, for I never got to eat there... NY's Tavern on the Green Bites the Dust Topic: Clay appeared there last year to accept an award. Hope he enjoyed the food that night.
  11. Caro -- I don't think there's any general place for SN vs RL names around here. There's a few that would rather not have the two connected, if possible. I think your best bet for that is to look at shared friends at Facebook, contact one of those friends, say "who the heck is ____?", and then make the connection if you can. (I've done that more than a few times, especially with Clay fan friends!) As for Farmville stuff (IMO -- YUCK! PTOOEY! I prefer to waste my time on Clay boards, hee!), you can "hide" applications. As requests come in, you can either accept them, or ignore them. When you ignore, I think they also give you to option to "always" ignore either the poster or the application. On your wall, there's also a way to hide things as well. It's hard to explain without pictures -- maybe this site will help?
  12. Clay's Huffington Post blog has now been put in UNICEF's Field Notes, with this picture. The Hawt Humanitarian strikes again!
  13. When I went home this past weekend, my brother's entire family said "you gotta see 'The Blind Side,'" which usually means to me "avoid like the plague" as he is as conservative as can be. OTOH, I've seen the ads and previews, and I do like Sandra Bullock. It may be meant for Netflix for me. More from the Huffington Post -- Clay's bio: You can also sign up with Huffington Post to become of "a fan" and receive email notifications when he blogs again.

  16. Made it home yesterday, but it was pretty dicey. We ended up driving into a snowstorm with an eventual 7 inches of snow. My husband drove the entire time (3+ hours), so he's sleeping it off this morning. It's also still snowing this morning! My whole "leave it to the experts" thing is pretty much anything baked. Don't do pie crusts; barely make cookies, unless they are the all-in-one pan variety. I have made pizza crust, though -- just don't do it very often. It's nice to look forward to a week with nothing really planned at all. Love it! I hope Clay and Parker are having a killer time together this holiday season. I can just imagine those two playing with toys -- and probably the empty boxes as well!
  17. Just got back home from church about an hour ago. I played a handbell solo, which was fun. Then, hubby and I opened presents -- I got lots of DVD sets, which is great, plus accessories for my bicycle. Now, it's time for the umpteenth viewing of "A Christmas Story." Tomorrow hubby and I are going to my brother's for a day or two. I'll be taking the laptop, and we're staying at a hotel, so I should be able to check in. I just wanted to come here and wish all my friends here Merry Christmas! I love this place, and I love hanging with all of you!

  19. Can someone tell me why exactly I'm at work today? We've had NO one come in, and only one phone call. But yet, there's 6 staff members and 5 student workers here. Of course, none of us feel like doing anything. So...why am I here? 'Cause they won't let us off without taking vacation time!
  20. My sympathies to the family and friends of Claysmelody.... Happy birthday to georgiesmybaby!
  21. spikesmom!!! Hope you have a great day... Two more days of work, two more days of work...
  22. aikim, I too love to hear those stories. They don't bore me at all! It makes me glad to hear stories like these, for that helps me know that the Project can make a difference! luckiest1, I hope you get an early Christmas present with notification that you got the job! annabear, Shubert is ADORABLE! My handbell choir played for the final time in 2009 this morning. Now we've got a three week break before we start again. In the meantime, I have to get a bell solo ready for Christmas Eve!
  23. Am I the only one who has no idea what this means?? I still don't understand how these work. Is this from/to Clay? or people talking about Clay? No, you aren't. I haven't the foggiest who is writing who, or why. The way I understand it is that "big4bones" found Clay's account on Twitter (which is really run by Decca, I believe), and asked that "Clay" reply to them. So "he" did -- with the quote "Happy Thursday." The "@" sign is how people tag each other -- so that you can know if someone is writing about you or not. This is how the Decca people know that Clay's being mentioned in tweets. I don't quite follow this all that much...but I do find it cool to get tweets from "Clay" every so often! It's that "fake personal connection" that so many fans dream about! (Except I guess, that not all of them want the "fake" part of it...LOL). Here's a video on how Twitter works. Here's a good page that explains the "@" feature. Sorry to hear about your daughter preden, but I'm glad she's OK!
