  1. Hello, FCA! I gave up basketball today -- quite a biggie for me -- to watch the inaugural activities and write a blog about them. I led with the "Something About Us" montage; so, fortunately, Google is catching the Clay Aiken link. There's another montage, based on fact, that will make you laugh: No One As Irish as Barack Obama. Hope you enjoy: Carolina On My Mind. I agree, Lotus, this is a very exciting and momentous time. There were people interviewed on the mall from just about every state, as well as several foreign countries. I am enjoying the hoopla from my den. WORD, merryclay! Have a great evening, all! Caro
  2. Thank you, liney23. Glad you enjoyed it. :clay: I wish I had saved all the typos that somehow made it into the newspapers where I worked. One I remember was a poor bride whose name was unusual, something like "Shirla." It came out in the Lubbock Avalanche-Journal as "Shitla." We ran the wedding story a second time with the corrected name. Don't worry this is the tune that never ends! You'll read it over and over again. It is seriously like a merrie-go-round! Some of us decided to jump off and have never regreted it. Yeah for FCA and couchie! WORD!!! Awesome news about the SAU montage and the GFI sponsorship here! Have a great weekend, all! Caro
  3. Happy TGIF, FCA! LOL, sounds like a bunch of English teachers reside here. As a former journalist, I also read the boards with a "mental" proofreader's pencil in hand. No pet peeves, but they do register. When we were dating, my husband said he was intimidated every time he wrote me a letter. I have enjoyed your ongoing discussion about Clay's career. I believe our guy has an astute business sense to go along with his incredible voice and entertainment skills, so I don't worry. I'm sure we will be told his next career move in time ... and hear him singing new songs SOON! Many thnx for the hits and the comments in the MLK blog. According to the Google searches in the "Clay-less" Carolina "live feed," I have provided both lesson plans for teachers and homework for (their) students. Mr. Caro is as snarky as one Clay Aiken, and I highly recommend the segment -- Harsh Lesson in Discrimination -- about his experiences as a white drummer in an otherwise all-black band in the 1960's. The Fayetteville Country Club will never be the same. HEAT WAVE -- The temp has risen from 16 to 18 degrees while I was writing this post. Have a great weekend, all! Caro
  4. Good Afternoon, FCA! If there is one theme I have seen over and over on the boards today (besides Clay, of course), it's about the cold temps. Of course, you took it to another level, cha cha! Today is the anniversary of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.'s 80th birthday. I reworked a blog from two years ago to commemorate the occasion. Interestingly, the second most searched topic in my blog after Clay is MLK, many from foreign countries. Here's the link: Obama Presidency Fulfills King's Dream. Sending lots of hugs and good vibes to you and your mom, Couch Tomato. Have a great day, all! Stay warm! :clay: Caro
  5. Hello, FCA! My new blog, which features a player with Suz's "My Favorite Things 2008," also includes the 12 photo grids for the montage. They are clickable at Carolina On My Mind and 400-pixels in the OFC entry. For some reason, Google hasn't picked up the blog. Hope y'all enjoy! :clay: Have a great evening, all! Caro
  6. Caro - What what do you mean by "The golf balls are still coming" to your blog? Am I the only one in the dark. I went there and I can't figure it out! Sorry to be so dense!! Cha Cha, you have to look at the blog's Live Feed, which shows the visitor's location and the site from which he/she linked. For example, you can see when someone links from FCA. The golf site visits are now down to a trickle; but at one point yesterday, there were 50 "golf balls" (the insignia of the golf site) in a row on the "feed." Btw, did you finish the project at your site? I remember you were in the middle when you went to see SPAMALOT. Caro
  7. Good Morning, FCA! Farewell to SPAMALOT! It's been a great run -- even from afar! UPDATE: The golf balls are still coming into the Carolina blog. I think it's so cool that a whole new segment of the population is reading about Clay Aiken, Golfing for Inclusion, and The Bubel/Aiken Foundation. Have a great day, all! Caro
  8. I hope it's Monday January 26 or I'm going to miss it. Wow, do I ever need you for a proofreader! I thought I had gotten that from TBAF, but I'm the one who added Saturday. It's fixed now though. Yikes, I'm slipping!!! Great pix! Caro
  9. Hello, FCA! I thoroughly enjoyed sharing some of your posts about our incoming president with my liberal Tar Heel friend. She was most appreciative. Now for some great news (I think): While I was busy converting the Carolina blog to the OFC codes, the Golfing for Inclusion entry was discovered by the Best Golf Empire site. Therefore, the "Golfing for Inclusion" blog is receiving multiple hits from Best Golf Empire. Here is what they posted at their site: LOL, when you come over, look at all the golf balls in the Carolina's Live Feed! Perhaps some are hearing about TBAF for the first time. Kewl, huh?!?!?:! Thnx to all who visit, comment, support the blogs. Chardonnay has a new one up, too! Check out the SPOTLIGHT BLOGS in the Carolina sidebar. Have a great day, all! Caro
  10. Thank you!! luckiest, I do remember Clay throwing his shoe - maybe he learned that on one of his field trips! And now that you've told me, ldyj, (and jamar) I do remember seeing something about that on The Daily Show (I stopped watching the news a long time ago - I know, bad me). It was driving me crazy!!! Just knew it had to be a topical thing. Rick is so damn funny! LOL, I was all prepared to supply the answers to your questions, cindilu2, deftly handled by Idyj. Kudos on our gorgeous new banner. cindilu! I was just talking with Sally and scrolled back so I could quote one of Wandacleo's latest gems: Ditto for the two of us from "conservative" Georgia and Carolina. The campaign signs on my street were a great indicator of how things have changed in NC. I kept score every time I left the house, and President-Elect Obama never trailed. The Couch Tomato All-Girl Band is coming right along. I'm working on a new blog, so check out the Carolina site in a bit. This week marked a momentous occasion as the 100th country, Turkey, dropped by on Tuesday. Have a super day, all! Caro
  11. So when do we start rehearsals? Piano/keyboards are already taken, but I can play a mean sax (other woodwinds, too). Sounds as if we have quite a percussion section. Scarlett, we definitely need a video of all this! Happy Weekend, all! Caro ETA: Heinz, do you play bagpipes? I can add oboe, which can sound like the pipes.
  12. Hello, FCA! I have truly enjoyed all of your recaps, photos, videos, etc., from SPAMALOT. Although I never saw the show, I feel as if I did. With the wonderful reports, I have been able to write several Carolina blogs about Clay's run on Broadway. The last one has an interesting addendum, which I just added and will print here: My sympathies to Cha Cha, Aikim, and anyone else suffering from the virus business. Hope you find a cure SOON! Have a great week, all! Caro
  13. I checked the new military blog and, counting the original one by SGM Falardea , there have been four written about SPAMALOT. Not all mention Clay, but all talk about their red carpet treatment at the show. Apparently, their departure for Iraq was delayed and they were able to celebrate New Year's in the US. The first and last include Clay's name. Here are the links: The Long (looong) Good-bye (1/4/09) New York City, Baby (1/1/09) Thank You Sergeant Major (1/1/09) New York City Loves Military )12/31/08) The original NYC Loves Military blog now has 24 comments. Thnx for your visits/comments at the current Carolina On My Mind entry, which includes links to the original military/Spamalot blog Clack has been awesome this weekend. Looking forward to the recaps and photos from this afternoon's finale! Have an awesome afternoon! :clay: Caro
  14. Too funny, Wanda! Loving all the reports and pix! Thnx for sharing, promptly or after the party. Have a great day, all! Caro
  15. Good Morning, FCA! :clay: Loving all the SPAM and stage door recaps from this final weekend! In fact, I borrowed a couple of lines from Scarlett, SueReu, and Zippy to lead into the current blog about Clay's last SPAMALOT shows. Many thnx to cindilu2, whose calendar with and without dates is part of the photo feature. Thank you to those who visit, right-click, and take time to comment at the Carolina On My Mind blogs. For the past two weeks, it's been fun putting together entries without the interruption of music lessons. That all ends Monday when the normal here-and-there routine resumes. I wholeheartedly second liney23's "thank you" list! to ClazyBlonde10 with belated greetings to Iseeme! Have an awesome weekend, FCA! Caro
  16. Happy New Year's Eve, FCA! Beautiful calendar, cindilu2! With appreciation for all that has gone before, here's to "the best is yet to come"! Have an awesome trip, SPAMMERS! Caro
  17. Thnx, keepingfaith! I posted on three boards and sent emails to three graphic artists, including cindilu2. I am rolling in pictures! This one is the wrong song, but I'm going to try to tie in the Clay-Faye dance for the OFC version. Again, many thnx! Caro
  18. Oops, sorry about that! Double post in case you didn't see it the first time. Caro
  19. Hello, FCA! It's so exciting reading everyone's plans for Clay's final Spamalot performances. Looking forward to the recaps and pix! Speaking of which, the last few batches from Dancerdad and Butterflyshine have been awesome. A little late, but greetings to tribeca! This is a twin celebration day in our family; so I have read here, written a blog, and helped commemorate the sixth birthday of my grand-niece and grand-nephew. The "What Are You Doing New Year's Eve" montage by LovesClaysVoice leads my latest Carolina On My Mind blog. I hope you enjoy this final entry of 2008, literally a "virtual tour" of the past 12 months which can be taken in 10 minutes or less. Meanwhile, I need some help with the OFC version. The temporary clickable below is where LCV's montage stops in the middle. Does anyone have the photo or another one of Clay dancing while singing "What Are You Doing New Year's Eve"? ... i.e., didn't he dance with Faye in Virginia on this song? I could use either pix. In fact, it seems I have seen that one somewhere, just not in my P/B ... because I have searched for the past hour. Many thnx! Clickable for HELP! Safe travels and lots of fun to all heading to New York City! for all who need one. Caro
  20. Hello, FCA! Beeyouteeful "Spamalot farewell" banner, cindilu2! Honestly, I need something like that for a blog. I'm also looking for current New Year's graphics. My new Carolina blog is about "The Waiting List" and Broadway World's "11 Stars A-Shining." From the "live feed," I can tell you that lots of people have arrived at the site by searching for "Clay Aiken The Waiting List." After I read fan concerns about TBAF not being named per se, I typed in "Clay Aiken's Foundation." TBAF comes right up. It is also linked in the blog. Have no fear; I think everything is covered. I've enjoyed reading the travelog from Japan. Think I'll keep the western version of the toilet though. Have a fantastic final week of 2008! Caro
  21. The wonderful graphic artists that I feature in my blog are helping me wish you and yours the best this Christmas Day! Included in this holiday greeting are graphics by AmazingCA, above and, in the clickables, #1, photo by ClayIzzaQT, and #5; cindilu2, #2; ABeautifulMind, photo by fivegoldens, #3; and Ashes, photo by five goldens, #4. Thank you for this very special board that is all about supporting Clay Aiken and the friends we have made through him. Merry Christmas, FCA! Caro
  22. Greetings, FCA! The People interview has also been picked up at Huffington Post. Some good comments there, too. Gerwhisp has posted a new at YouTube link and in her OFC blog. I love how she treated the "faith has conquered fear" line. This afternoon I sent all my holiday cards. Here is one for everyone at FCA: Season's Greetings, FCA! Happy Hanukkah and Christmas Week! :thbighug-1: Caro P.S. Adding the latest on Kai, who has really discovered Christmas this year. Below is one of his latest pictures, and here is the link to a five-second video from a ToysRUs shopping trip. I understand he was carrying the bear to a little girl on the other side of the boxes: Kai on a Mission. Clickable Kai ETA: Sending good vibes your way for you and your mom, Couch Tomato.
  23. I think we could have rounded up a floor pillow, and you would have been most welcome. Caro
  24. Good Evening and Happy Weekend, FCA! Couch Tomato, sending hugs and good vibes for you and your mother. I sent that to my daughter this week, and my grandson (all of 15 months) is having a blast with it. Awesome banner, cindilu2! I love that picture by Cloopy, and your treatment is extra special. Y'all check out the Carolina blog. You will get to hear Clay sing the MCWL greeting ... and see some snowflakes, too. This has been recital week, and I gave the students top billing. Scarlett, I wish you had been here to capture a certain piece of clack. There's plenty of Clay stuff, too. The snowflakes are new as of about 30 minutes ago, and the MCWL is in the previous blog. Guess that means Clay will be singing all the way down the page! Have a great weekend, all, and stay safe! Caro
