  1. Just got back from the Hospital and my DIL just had her baby today. It was so wonderful to have such a joyful time since last year was a very hard time for our family when she lost her baby. Our new "little moose"(that is what the Doctor called him) weighed in at 9#8oz and was 21 inches long. Mom and Dad are doing great. Can't wait for reports to come in about the GLAAD awards tomorrow night. I hope we get some great pictures.
  2. I can not wait for this episode. I do not get a chance to watch the show much because of my schedule but I will be sure to throw a tape in. I also really like the pictures from the party that were posted. That left side of his face does look sore. It looks like he had more work done. Can't wait for reports from this weekend to arrive. I am so proud of him.
  3. Happy Birthday GIBBY, 50 is not bad. It did not bother me one bit. Now 60 maybe a different story. I do not feel like I am in my 50's. I am more active than most of the 20-30 year old people I work with. Whenever I mention that I am going to do a bike tour for several days they all groan, they say that they problably can only bike a couple of miles. I think some of them have not exercised since they left High School. I have been working crazy amount of time for me lately, so I have been lurking more than posting. Today I got to sleepin, got my house cleaned, did laundry, and just made 2 loaves of Irish Soda Bread for a Irish dinner we are going to tomorrow. Now I can catch up on everything.
  4. I watched the first Kill Bill with my hubby. I am not much into blood and guts. When he rented the second one I started watching and could not tolerate it and left the room. It did not help that we have a 100 inch screen and everything is just right there. I am really proud of Clay for the chance to give Tyra her award. They have really hit it off as friends. I so enjoyed watching them on her show a couple of years ago. They had such great chemistry.
  5. There is always a problem with the ebay sellers and the local used book stores. We try very hard on the first night of the sale to limit anyone to 100 books. We do really well because in a five day period for our sale we usually sell about 10,000 to 15,000 books. For the last thirty years we have sold all books for $.25 and for the first time this May we are going up to $.50. We may regret this but we are going to try.
  6. I am president of our Friends of the Library and we put on the book sales. We get a lot of new books that we sale. The library may occassionally add some to their shelves but mostly we get them. The money we generate helps us but on our childrens parties and we buy needed supplies for the library. We have bought in the last year paperback book towers to display them, a beautiful large floor model globe, new sorting carts, a lap top people can use in their meetings, large print books, audio books, children and young adult books, and in looking into putting outside an area to read in. We appreciate all donated books. The only ones we discard are usually old textbooks, magazines, or encylopedias that people do not want. If we can we also give the left over books to womens shelters, senior citizens centers, and salvation army who distribute them. I also do not worry about Clay, he will do just fine.
  7. I am easy. I tried at first to get the cheaper membership, did not think I needed the extras. It would not let me in, so I went into the ultimate. No problem with this one, so I continued. I will use the coffee mug, and I know my hubby will not steal it.
  8. I like the CD cover and I am sure once the playlist comes out I will purchase it. It just amazes me all the press Clay gets. Many other idols including Rueben and Taylor were let go and I would not of known except for reading on the message boards. Clay leaves and it is everywhere. I hope whoever he signs with just works for him. He is so talented and should of been promoted more. I think the biggest problem all along is that he and RCA just did not click. I will not go into all the angst that has been reported. I just want to hear and see him.
  9. I really like that picture. If I saw him alone without Jerome I would not recognize him.
  10. I am one who can understand if you are still struggling a little bit, but stopped reminding us. Take time, rethink what bothers you, and stay away from the boards for awhile. I do think Clay is perfect, nobody is, but the constant negativity drives me nuts. I have a total of 6 posts at the OFC. In the Spam thread back in late October I reacted to someone who said that the second time he was doing Spam he was overacting to the point he needed professional help to staighten up the part. Then a few people started being critical and agreeing with her. I came on and stated I am tired of the negativity and bashing of Clay. When I see the show I will give my own opinion. Before I knew it the said person was writing that I had no right to say that to her, that she can voice her opinion. I wrote back I was not aiming my thought just on her alone. Before I new it my statement about negativity was edited out by the moderators. I came back and said this is why I only have so few post and would not be back to comment further and would remain a lurker. I have to say the person who started it all did PM me and apologize for being so strong on her reaction to what I said. I told her that she believed what she said about his acting and I would form my own opinion once I saw the show. That we all want him to succeed and it is hard to hear criticism all the time.
  11. Thanks everyone for your support. It means alot. My DIL is 32 weeks along in her pregnancy and was told she could go anytime. I hoping she holds off for another 2 weeks. This is further than she got last year. She lost her other baby at 31 weeks. The DR. says the baby is over 5# and about 17 inches long. They have given her two shots to help the babies lungs, so if she goes early this will help. I could use a little less drama lately.
  12. To make up finacially I am going to try to pick up extra days. I have also worked at my place of employment for 37 years. I do not want to go full time because even though it would only be one day a week more, it would mean going back to every third weekend, every other holiday, and because I have been occassional for 30 years and not full time not much vacation. With the way my schedule is now, I give them the days I want to work, and I am placed on the schedule. My contract calls for one weekend day every three months, and one holiday a year. When we want to go on vacation I just do not place myself on the schedule. I have not taken benefits for all those years because we had my husbands. I talked to my manager and she is going to try to add a few days, those would be what we call "E" days. If we are busy they will call me to work, otherwise I will be on call. My husband is looking for another job, most are out of state. It sucks to have a Masters degree and not be wanted because the state you live in has one of the highest unemployment rates!
  13. I am another one who had no computer experiences. My children would go on our computer at home and mess things up and my husband would spend hours fixing. I vowed to never go ont it. When Clay was on AI I was teaching an Outdoor Emergency Care class every Tues. I would tape Idol and by the time I got home and watched it, voting was finished. The last two weeks I actually got home with one hour to spare so I started voting right away. I never did get through either week. When Clay lost I just gave up and because I was not on the computer I did not realize what was going on. I did notice when the single came out that our paper list the top selling singles and albums every week. I did notice that it was #1 in sells for several weeks. At the time the CD came out I was dealing with my mothers stroke and did not even think about it. Once she was home I went to her house one day and she had taped several of his performances. I watched but that was it. I had not bought a CD in years. My husband had always bought many CD's and I just listened what was in the car. I got wrapped up in many things and one day after the IT I was watching Clay at my mom's and asked her if I could take her CD and listened to it. That was it, I was hooked. I went out and bought it, started watching everything he was on. I still was not on the computer so I decided I would go to the library and see what I could find. Well that started it all. When the NAT came I did not know anybody to go with me, I asked my mom but she was not sure she could handle it. I regret to this day not going. Clio is 20 minutes from my house. I read the recaps and felt terrible when I did not go. I decided from then on if I could not find someone to go with me I would go by myself. I did not get to JNT2005 because it was not near me, but have at least gone to all others. I also got to go to Spam and I will always remember that. I love me some Clay Aiken and I will not miss another concert as long as it is feasible to go. For all the kidding my hubby gives me he has been great. He actuall when online from work to get my JBT2004 tickets, and went to the library when Clio 2005 went on sale, so he could have high speed when the tickets when on sale. Since then we now have high speed and he went and ordered me my laptop two years ago so I could have by own computer and would not have to use his desktop that he used alot for work use. My hubby is one of those who lost their job in December. He was forced to take eary retirement after 38 years and this week it was announce that we lost all of our benefits. I am trying to pick up more time at work so I can afford the added $1200 per month added cost to cover healthcare, dental, and eye.
  14. That pregnant lady dancing was a little to much. I was praying she would not go into labor on stage, and that outfit was horrible. I also do not get Radiohead. Not my kind of music. If Jennifer Hudson and Suagarland, who sang not rocking sounds can be on the Grammies, then Clay could be. His voice can outshine all of them.
  15. I guess I am getting old, but the Jonas Brothers, Taylor Swift, and Mylee Cyrus, and I include now Katy Perry all suck. None of these people can sing live!
  16. I like to cook. When my children were little I cooked big meals everynight. I still cook alot. we are not ones to go out to eat much. I belong to a women's group that has a Gourmet lucheon four times a year. Last week it was at my house. I am in charge so I have to come up with the menu for everyone . Next month we are going to Greece. Normally I am not a picky eater, but there are two things that are in a lot of Greek recipes. Eggplant and grapeleaves I can not do. So I came up with recipes that these are not in. They let me pick the recipes, so I had my choice. I also love to bake, but for the life of me I can not make a good pie crust. Thank goodness they sell it in the refrig or frozen section. I just love watching the video for Proud of Your Boy. He at times melts my heart. He sure did look good the other night.
  17. I would love to go to Australia. My husband was there on and off for a couple of years. Whenever he would go he would come home from work on a Thurs. and tell me he was leaving on Sunday. When my work schedule comes out, about a month ahead of time, I could not swing going with him. We then decided the next time I would try to change, I went and got my passport. He teased me he would be in business class and I would be crounched in couch. I was already and he stopped going. I have seen alot of his pictures, and they had some awesome scenery. Once I was out skiing, when he was out on one of his trips, and they called me into the patrol building because he was on the phone from Australia. It was like 0 degrees that night, and he was calling from the beach. Sometimes it is not fair. In my dreams I will get there someday.
  18. I enjoyed everyone of the songs last night. I am one who care less what he sings as long as he does it well. I actually got teary eyed at the end of Proud of Your Boy. He sure has made us proud.
  19. I really enjoyed looking at the pictures, but it reminds me that Clay will probably never have real privacy. I will be honest, I was not sure what I would feel when I first saw the pictures with Clay and Reed together. I looked at them and realized that they looked so happy that I did not care. I love goofy Clay and Reed seems to fit right in. I had read somewhere that they could not believe that anyone would act this way. It was a private party and it sure looked like it was fun. I remember when I go to a function we sometimes do not always act discreet. My last party for work one girl was going around taking pictures down people shirts to see if we could guess whose boobs we were looking at. I forgot about this and when I was at work yesterday and saw some pictures that were taken at the party, I remembered this happened. The girl whose camera was used was working and she said she went home and deleated them because she found them to invasive. Thanks God those will not get out, but we were just being crazy and having fun. A few of my coworkers teased me that night they would surely know when my picture came up since I wear an I cup bra and it would be obvious. Sometimes at parties things are done just for fun.
  20. It is getting nasty out there. I could care less how often he blogs. Some people are really making a big deal out of this. If 10 people were present at the dinner, we probably would get 10 different versions on what he said. This way with the conversation not being discussed, they only have their interpretations and people will not be able to speculate on the meaning of every word that came out of his mouth. I do not get the reasoning that he will loose his fans if he does not communicate. I enjoy other artist, buy their CD's when they come out, but do not go to their fan club sites to check out every word they express or how often. The internet fans only make up a small portion of his fans. If they are that shallow that because he does not blog on a regular basis they are out of here, that is their problem not his. I remember reading when he did blog about something casual he was critized because it was not an indepth subject but something just for fun. Do not get me wrong I enjoy when he does blog but it does not make or break my love for him
  21. I also have always heard Well, Well. When it was mentioned it could be Well, Now I kept relistening and could not hear that. I thought my hearing was bad. I sitting here debating whether I missed anything. I have 14 women coming to my house for a Gourmet Luncheon that we hold four times a year. Table set, punch made, coffee pot ready to go, will preheat the oven for one of the appetizers in a little while, I just keep on thinking I am missing something. The menu was sent out a week ago with the assignments for what people were suppose to make. They bring it and the cost to make. Then it is all added up, divided by the number of people, and some people may owe, some will get money back. Suprisingly we have the whole menu. Drinks, appetizers, salads, vegetables, bread, two main entrees, desserts, and it usually runs about $12-$14 dollars a person. Not bad for a complete meal.
  22. I am one of those who have no expectations from the fan club. I joined because I wanted to support Clay. I can not wait to log on when I see he has blogged. My fingers can not move fast enough, but it does not upset me that he does not blog alot. When he does I enjoy reading, but I just think when he does not blog he has nothing to say at the time or he is not able to give out some information. IMO some people just like to complain or see themselves in print. Sorry for the small rant.
  23. Yes, and people wonder why we love him so much. He goes out of his way to make everyone feel special. I can not wait to hear more about tonight.
  24. You guys make me laugh when you talk about going outside for an activity and it being cold. The schools here cancelled today because of the wind chill. I am on the school fan call system and my phone rang at 5:30. I bet many of those same kids will be at the ski hill since we live 7 miles from it. Tomorrow I have ski patrol for 8 hours, so I better be prepared to dress really warm. I think that face mask will come in handy. By the way put away those red marker for my post. English was my not my favorite subject, and I went to a private school that made us diagram sentences alot. Give me math and science anyday. I hated it when my children wanted me to proof read their essays!
