  1. I know you all will think I am crazy, but it was beautiful today and about 70 degrees, so I put up my Christmas lights. They will not be turned on, but it sure beats putting them up when the temp is in the 20's, blowing snow, and my hand are freezing. As usuall I ended up throwing away 4 sets because they would not all light. I get so impatient when dealing with burntout bulbs. I really enjoyed watching the Broadway.com interview. He is so cute, and love the faces he makes.
  2. My husband and I walked up this morning to vote. It is a beautiful day here. When we got there we walked right up to vote. No wait at all. With it being so nice today we at least got to walk 4 miles this am. It is one of those lazy days. I started packing for this weekend so I do not do it at the last minute. I have to leave at 3am on Friday for the airport. I am hoping with our standby tickets to get on the early morning flight. If not we still have three more flights we can catch, we may be really late getting into NY that night. I think the last arrival time is 1050pm and we still have to take the train in from LI. Pray for us that we get out early.
  3. I use to read at least two books a week, and that was when I had three little ones. Now if I read one a month I am lucky. I have the new Robin Cook book sitting on my table that I got out of the library that is a short term check out non renewable and it is due on the 4th and I have not even started it. I think I will be a little late returning it and take it on the plane this weekend. Our library system does not fine unless you get a second notice which does not go out to three weeks after it is due. Clay looks like he throws all his socks in one drawer and just grabs any two. We will probably be surprised if he matches them up again. He will not take the time unless someone who does his laundry does.
  4. Starting to slow down here. I have had about 100 kids so far. Some very good costumes. I think they were so creative because it is actually warm and they do not have to have on layers of clothes. Saw the ET clip, he really is articulate and comes across very caring. Does help that he looks really good, only wish is that his hair was longer.
  5. You just want to kill all of us with those pictures and gifs. He is one gorgeous guy but at times he can make the most adorable faces.
  6. I also picked up a Trojan Horse at CB, my antivirus picked it up and informed me it stopped it. I enjoy going over there but I am not wanting to cause any problems with my computer. The problem seems to have started when all the advertising started. My computer scanned last night and all is well. Makes me nervous. I was going to go for a walk this morning and realized it is below 32 outside. Think I will wait till this afternoon. Taking my youngest son out for lunch today, it is his 24th birthday. I usually call my children at the exact time they were born, but he wa born at 1232pm so I guess we will be eating at that time. Everyone have a great day. Sorry Cindilu that I missed your birthday, hope you had a wonderful day. Getting nervous about our trip to NY in less than 2 weeks, my friends daughter has asthma and has had some problems, we are hoping all is well by that time. Her husband is funny, he has never been left alone with her daughter for a long period of time. We remind him she is now 10 and can pretty much take care of herself. Just make sure he feeds her. Also their dog is suppose to have a litter of puppies later that week. He keeps saying she needs to be there for that. We keep joking that if that happens there is nothing we can do.
  7. Love the lighting on the last picture, the blue effect makes him look gorgeous. Glad to see he is on tonight. I wonder if he is only going to do one show tonight and again tomorrow night so not to put added stress on his ankle. I am really just relaxing tonight. Our friends group at the library put on a pumpkin carving party today. We had 115 kids carving at one time. Nothing like slimy pumpkin insides. Alot of the kids took the seeds home so their mom's could roast them. Thank goodness we had the High School National Honor Society to help us
  8. Well, I live in Michigan, and the economy in our area sucks. Everything at one time was auto related. My husband is being forced to take a early buyout. He is only 56 with 38 years in. He is working on his resume but knows the job market here is bad. I have no problems because we still have a great nurses shortage. I think the average age for nurses is like 48. Young people have a hard time getting into what programs are out there, plus some do not want to do what I call floor nursing. They only want to be managers and make more money. I have always enjoyed taken care of people so manage work does not even appeal to me. I do not want to go full time when my husband is done. The only time I would have to consider is if they drop our health insurance. I have been in the role I am in for 28 of the 36 years I have worked at the hospital. With being occassional with no benefits, because my husband carried them, I have been able to tell them when I want to work. My contract calls for two weekdays a month, one weekend day every three months, and one holiday a year. Every month I give them the days I want to work. It has been nice, and I do not want to go back to full time, working every third weekend, every other holiday, and not much vacation time. Now back to Clay! I hope he is feeling better. Sometimes the injury is worse the next couple of days then starts feeling better. I feel for those who have plans for this weekend. I know when my time comes,if it was iffy if he was going to be able to be there, I would be really concerned with the money I have out. I do understand that this is the risk that is taken when airfare, hotel, and tickets are purchased. But it is really important that he does not injure himself more.
  9. Couchie I hope your Mom will be well soon. I know how caregiven can be. It seems everytime I have something planned, my Mom gets sick or ends up in ER. The night before the last Clay concert I went to my Mom ended up in ER, it was running through my mind what do I do now. Do I call my friend and cancel or do I wait it out and see what happens. Luckily she ended up back home and with the help of my sister who was there to check on her I was able to go. I am glad to hear the nurses were good to you and your Mom, sometimes we do get a bad rap. Most of us try very hard to take care of our patients to the best of our ability.
  10. Must be a day of doing the jobs we could no longer put off. I am on my last load of laundry, worked and got all my cpr paperwork done and copies made to mail in tomorrow, and cleaned the dummies with bleach water. If you would of pulled into my driveway it looked like body parts all over a blanket in the backyard. Would of been great if it was Halloween. My husband got home and we went for a three mile walk, but even with a fleece jacket on that wind was cold, I think the thermometer said it was 46 out. Now I think I will chill this evening and just work on my crosstitch project.
  11. This morning I got called off of work, so I called my friend who goes to concerts with me and is going to see Spam with me, to come over and see a few things I had downloaded from the Gala. She was really upset a couple of weeks ago about the news but was slowly coming to terms with it. The last thing I showed her was RHW. I sat there watching it not paying any attention to her. At the end I looked over at her and the tears were falling down her face. She looked at me and said "I really do still love him". She says that she feels so much better and is looking forward to Spam and hopefully a tour.
  12. Home after a long weekend of Ski Patrol classes. Finally caught up on everything. All i can say he is one gorgeous man. He looked and sounded just wonderful. After watching the clack I for one can not wait for a tour. I just want to be in the same room with him. To bed have to work tomorrow. Catch up later.
  13. Got back from my class and thought I would check and see whats going on. I am really sad that Spam is closing. At least I will get to see it. I also wonder if he will extend his time for the last two weeks. It is really quiet here, everyone at the Gala. I know I am not suppose to be jealous. Look forward to the recaps even though I probably will not be able to read them to Sunday night.
  14. I do not think we would ever see Clay in those black pants. Even though we would love it. On my way to teach CPR for my helpers for tomorrow big group of about 120 people. At least tonight we only have 15 people. I will have a big headache at the end of the day tomorrow. Nothing like watching the video several times. I hope when I get to my sons birthday party tomorrow night he has a stiff drink for me. I am not driving. I hope everyone is having a good time partying in Raleigh. Maybe one of these days my turn will come to go.(I can dream at least).
  15. The bicep thing was why I said the angle of the camera. There is a picture posted at CB that actually looks like he had a big bicep. Of course we all know that there was no physical activity to make this happen. I sure (in my opinion) that Clay does not know what a weight is or how to use it. It does amaze me when he looks very thin in some pictures, then the next day looks like he has a pouch. I could care less, my three boys in their 20's no longer have totally flat stomachs. We do tease them once in a while. It seems once they hit around 24 they put on some weight.
  16. I kinda like the sweater vest. What I did notice was how big his biceps are in some photos. Do not know if it is just the angle that it was taken. I doubt that he has been working out, but that is what it looks like. I can not believe how furry his arms are. His smile is so infectious that I could care less what he wears. Someone did find the site that had the vest advertised for $228. Got to love him!!!!
  17. Sounds like E News wanted some more recent video for their story. Glad he did not cooperate and Jerome got him back inside. I am sad for the fans who did not get to see him.
  18. Hey, Merrieeee I am also asking myself why am I not going to the Gala. I just hope we get a lot of pictures, recaps, and clack. I have to teach CPR to 120 people on Saturday then go to a birthday party for my son at his new home. Probably will not be back till really late, and have to be up by 6:30am to be to an all day refresher class for ski patrol. It will be Sunday evening before I get a chance to read anything.
  19. I am sorry to say I did not purchase MOAM till the following April. RL was hitting hard, in Sept. my mother had a stroke and after being in the hospital for a period of time was then sent to rehab. She left there in mid Oct. I have to laugh because she continued even during her recovery to find anytime he was on tv. Once she was home from rehab she would tape every show he was on. Again I had so much going on with work, and taking classes for ski patrol I just did not pay attention. I did notice that our local paper every week would print the list of best selling cd's and I did see the weeks it was in the top 10. My sister got my mother the cd for Christmas and she was so excited. I would go to her house once a week and she would alsways have some show for me to watch. Finally in April I bought the cd, went to the library and got on the computer, because I did not have one, and the ride has not stopped since. I have had such a wonderful time and my mother who is now 87 still is a big fan. My only regret is that because I did not know anybody to go with me to Clio for the NAT I stayed home. My mom did not think she could sit through a concert. For the next few years my Mom was able to go to JNT 2004, JBT, JNT 2006. Now it is hard for her, but she enjoys my recaps and the little items I bring back for her.
  20. Just because I am so excited, my friend and I just finished firming up our plans. We are going to Spamalot.!!!!!!!!! I did not get to go the first round, and did not think it would happen. Both our husband have been great about it, last winter they would not even consider it, and I think we have everything worked out. It going to be a long travel day for us because we are flying Southwest into Long Island and taken the train in on Fri. November 7th. We will be flying standby all day so pray we do not get hung up somewhere and can get out of Detroit. We fly into Baltimore, then on into Long Island. My neice was able to get airline tickets for us, so that was one cost we did not have. We will be attending both shows on November 8th.
  21. I can also anticipate the reports but cannot wait to read them. I am sure someone will say his hair sucks. Iam use to thank so it does not bother me. I hope those that go are able to take some pictures for us, and of course I am hoping for clack when he sings. Those pictures are cute with the boys he took. I am loving how his eyes just sparkle. I just got back from the store and I am sitting here eating my honeycrisp apple. They were $1.99/lb today. So I had to get a couple.
  22. We made a commitment with the kids that we would match any scholarships that they got, plus we would pay half of the tuition, housing, and food cost. Both my husband and I paid all of our college cost. I had no choice my father passed away when I was a senior in high school and it left my mother with four daughters under 17. So I worked and paid my way through. My husband father had no means to pay for him. He did a co-op program that helped with tuition. I always wanted my boys to know we were supportive but they needed to help with their share. I was most disappointed with my oldest when he quit. He keeps telling me he will go back, but he never plans on working for someone. I tease my youngest who graduated from the same college his brother attended that now that he works for his brother he needs to put the diploma up in his office. The boss need to see it, so it reminds him he promised me he will go back. I am not holding my breath.
  23. College funding, boy I remember worrying when all three of my boys went. My first went to a private college, small amount of scholarships, and we told him we would pay half of everyting. He quit in his senior year, but thank goodness did not owe anything. He has been successful running his own business which he actually started in High School. He thought college was interferring. My middle child opted for a state university, made it through in four years, and did not owe anything. We paid half and he worked the whole time and took classes a lot a community college during the spring and summer to cut the cost down. My youngest did graduate in four years, went to a private college, we paid half but he ended up with $25,000 in student loans. It is scarey because even though we started saving when they were born the cost has gone up so much money does not go far.
  24. Clay looks really great in the photos from last night. How can he look so thin again. That face is gorgeous and the cheeck bones are to die for. I am so glad he looks so happy. I think it is great he is taking pictures with his fans. On call for work again, our census is low. Just know when winter hits my phone will ring every morning at 5am asking if I can come in. We are busting at the seams come December through April. Once the weather breaks we slow down again. Darn those kids who get sick in the winter. Did not comment before on Parker's surgery. We do see our fair share of babies with Pyloric Stenosis. They come in usually after projectile vomiting all day and some are really dehydrated and very sick. After diagnosis and taken to OR recovery time varies. Some Doctors take feeding very slow, like maybe 15cc of pedialyte every 2-3 hours to start out at and then gradual increase. I always feel bad when the little ones are crying because of hunger and pain. We do give small amounts of morphine the first day to take the edge off, then once they tolerate feeding we switch of tylenol. Usual stay is about three days. Once they tolerate feeding they can go home. Since I am on call all day I may as well head to my Mom and do her grocery shopping and fill her prescriptions. Check in tonight.
  25. I promise that my comment of the individuals on the OFC are also my last. I want to rejoice in one Clay Aiken. I guess I better get dressed and off to the bonfire.
