  1. I agree with you Playbiller about the language and the porno type video that is played. I too may be a prude but I think it is so not necessary to sell music. I work in a pediatric unit and can not believe the parents that let their children watch BET. These kids are only about 8 or 9 and can sing every song and their parents see no problem with them watching what I consider porn. The nurses that work the night shift say when they go into the rooms at night and it is on it is even worse. My boys did no even watch mtv when they were young and we only had cable for a short time and pulled it. I find the words to the Lollipop sound really offensive and can not believe they can play it on the radio.
  2. Been off line since last Wednesday and came back to alot of pages to read. Love the pictures of him. He just has become so handsome. I love how all the children are always smiling around him. Had a great 5 day bike trip. We did a total of 240 miles, and only got sprinkled on one day. They were calling for a major storm and it missed us, the lower part of Mi. had alot of rain, but we did not. The only problem with the thumb area of Mi. is it is always windy. The last day we had 30 miles per hour wind in our face. Hard to keep the tandem straight on the rode. The wind is unpredicable because at the top the thumb you have winds from Lak e Huron and winds from the Saginaw Bay swirling around. Voting between WDC or DLTSGD was hard but had to go with DLTSGD because it was the first time I heard him and was so suprised. I missed the Atlanta auditon and the Open Arms song because of teaching a class. I did not go to the IT because no one I knew at the time would go with me. I really enjoyed WDC more at the JBT.
  3. I have a hard time stating that he can not tour on this CD because it did not sell. There are artist in concerts all over who are not superstars and have a loyal fanbase who enjoy listening to them. They fill smaller venues. I personaly hate huge venues. The sound half the time is poor and you can not see very well. If Clay does not tour until spring so be it. I for one hopes he tours this Christmas. He sings Christmas music beautifully and everytime I have seen him the place has been sold out. Everyone of his Christmas tours have been different and I have enjoyed those I went to. Sure I like everyone else wanted better sells for this CD, but I love it. Some artist would of loved to have the numbers that he has. In my opinion we are so bent on the fact that he does not sell like other AI people that we have lost some of the joy that use to be around.
  4. I ride a tandem and the back seat gets all the jolts from the wheel, so we have a shock post on the sit which helps a little. I train all summer because on Labor Day weekend I have another 5 day ride which has more miles in a day about 65/day from Lansing, Michigan to Mackinaw, Mi. I think it is a total of 340 miles. We ride with about 500 people on our route, but totally all routes with 2200 people converge on Mackinaw on Sunday of Labor Day weekend. It is a lot of fun but work especially in the hills!!!
  5. It has been a very busy week. Went to Chicago for three days, then returned late Thurs. night, rode 35 miles on my bike on Fri., then today again rode 40 miles this morning. Have to ride another 40 tomorrow then a few days off before I do a five day bike ride in the upper thumb area of Michigan. Getting on that seat this am for the second day in a row was very hurtfull the first couple of miles till I got use to it. I am at this point trying to find all of our camping stuff for the long ride. It is going to be cooler. They are calling for daytime temps to be 68-71. That is better than last year. On our long day of 65 miles it was 95 and with the rode blacktop heat, and me and my hot flashes, I thought I was not going to make it. The cooler temps this time should help. I really love how in ALAWH the song builds in the middle. It is one of those songs I always repeat when it comes on.
  6. I was in the Wilmington area in April and thought it was beautiful. My SIL lives in Kure Beach which is not to far away. So we went into Wilmington and had some drinks outside at a waterfront bar. Weather was wonderful that day, sunny, and in the 70's. My SIL is a flight attendant for Southwest and flies out of Raliegh/Durheam(SP). Back in 2004 my hubby was in chat with her and mentioned I was seeing Clay in Detroit. She stated she had no idea who he was. His comment was you live in NC have you been living under a rock. That video on u-tube by Dreamlarge is really good. I really do like that song.
  7. As I said sewing is not my thing. I can do some repairs and hem pants, which I have to do alot since I am only 5' tall. My mother was a beautiful seamtress. She had four girls in dance lessons, and made all the costumes, plus many more for other people. When I was in high school she tried to teach me. I could not stand sitting at the machine. I was a lost cause. I used to knit alot but not anymore. I have made several sweaters at one time. I still love to cross stitch, have made several table runners for Christmas, and really have some more to work on but have not felt like it. My son who was bit is not really afraid of dogs. He has two that are really cute and even tempered. I am turn am a little afraid of those I do not know. When I was about 25 I was still living at home and was one day addressing my wedding invitations, our dog at that time was very protective of our mother. She was under my mom's bed when my mother was doing her checkbook on the top. I went into the room and even announced that I was entering, when I heard the scampering on the hardwood floor. Before I knew it the dog was on me, bit me several times and tore my jeans apart. Went to work that night, put me on antibiotics, and when I woke up the next day(I was working midnight shift)my mother had taken the dog and had him put to sleep. My Grandfather who was in his mid 80's was also living with us, and she was afraid that the dog would do the same to him. I really felt bad, but since then I am a little leary of dogs. When we are riding our bikes and a dog comes charging out, my husband says it is the only time we really move, because I really start pushing the pedals fast. I am really missing Clay, just remembering preparing to go to a concert last year in July. Had so much fun, especially taken my friend who had never seen him before, and now is just hooked.
  8. I can not believe how gorgeous all the quilts are. I can not sew, and running a machine is taboo. Yesterday my oldest son called me to tell me he was at one of his rental homes and apparently they skipped out. When he went into the back yard a dog came at him and bit him. I told him he had to go to ER to get it checked out and he needed a tentanous shot. He went and when it was reported to the police they decided that the dog had no collar on so they had no idea whether he has had his shots, so now my son has to go through the rabies shots. Got his first one yesterday and will have to have several more. I love the way he sings the words round, round, round in WOTW. I really enjoy this song. Come to think about it, there is not one song I do not like on the CD. I usually do not skip any.
  9. It is going to be another hot one today. Yesterday it got up to 91, today mid 80's but the humidity is very high. Got up this morning and did a repair on a tent bag that my son had borrowed, went out and rode my single bike to test the new shifters my husband put on, then did some more weeding. I am ready for a nap and I need to go to the golf course shortly. My husband got home from his week long business trip late last night so I guess our vacation officially starts today. I do not work again till the 14th of July. Clay content- Can not wait for his blog on UNICEF site, and hope they add a picture. I want to see him. I really enjoy reading the comments on SL, this is one of my favorite songs.
  10. I probably are one of the few people who do not have cable, so I will have to wait till it is posted to see it. Clay is always so articulate when he talks so it should be a good piece. When I saw Nicole's name I questioned why, glad someone cleared that one up. I hope the UNICEF site has a blog from him before this show.
  11. Yes, summer is here. It is going to be very hot and humid today. Went out this am and pulled some weeds then ran over to our DMV for my renewal of my liscened tabs(could not renew on line because they needed to see my proof of insurance). I could not believe it took only 8 minutes there, usually the line is really long. Trying to decide if I want to start any major thing before I take off for the Open. Traffic in town is getting busy, getting out of my subdivision onto the main road with a left turn is tricky. I really want to see a picture of Clay even if we do not see video, miss the dude. A little story. Remember when Clay was on Rachel Ray show and he mentioned a parent who would point to their young child around 7 and try to tell them who he was and he stated they did not know because they were only 2 when he was on Idol. Sunday my mom had her neice over (my mom sister their mom had passed away the day before) and they were looking for a particular song of Clay's to play at the funeral since their mom was a fan. The neices daughter is now 8, when she was around 3 she would get into the car and always say play Clay. Sunday she was at my Mom's and saw all the tapes my mom had, so my mom sent some home with her. The one thing that made her day was my mom gave her the poster I got with the K-Mart CD. She was so excited, she could not wait to put it up in her room. So, there Clay there are young people who remember you.
  12. I do not know how to describe it but SL just hits me. I love the way he sings it. It is probably one of my favorites on the CD. Yes, there is people not happy with his statements yesterday. I do not know one celebrity that has to take as much criticism for things he talks about as he does, especially from his fans. No wonder blogs become so infrequent. Everything he says is analized over and over.
  13. Company just left a little while ago and after taking motrin for my aches and pain from doing garbage pickup at the Buick Open I am just relaxing. Saw Kid Rock at about 4 holes today. His dress sure did not meet Golf Club etiquette, he was dressed in bib overalls and a t-shirt,by the third hole he had beer in hand. He had about four state police officers following him. He brought in the crowd and I guess that what they wanted. I am so proud of Clay and that I hope he is either home or on his way and is safe. Hope we get to see some pictures or video footage. I really like seeing him interact with children.
  14. Thanks everyone. Should be a interesting day working the Buick Open tomorrow, reported that Kid Rock will be playing with John Daly, I wonder what his fans will be like. They are playing in the afternoon when I am working.
  15. I want to thank everyone for their good thoughts for me. It worked! My MRI came back normal, and I do not have to have another mammagram for a year. Now I can get back to enjoying the next two weeks off from work. First week we are going the Chicago for three days, and then the second week we are riding about 300 miles in 5 days on our bikes in the thumb area of Michigan. (Think of Michigan like a mitten and that is where the thumb area is). The Real Me: I now love it, the first time I heard it I was not sure, but now I love the way he sounds. It really almost wants to make me cry when he sings it.
  16. Got to leave you guys tonight, 12 hour shift tomorrow so I need my beauty sleep. At least I can listen to my CD on my hour drive to work and on the return.
  17. Couchie - No news yet, they told me it would be around 5 business days, which is tomorrow. If I do not here on my answering maching when I get home from work tomorrow, I will call them Wednesday morning. I am trying to stay positive.
  18. Welcome all the newbies. I do not post much but enjoy reading everyones thoughts. Hope to see alot from you.
  19. I agree that some fans are not happy that he will not change to be the singer that they want. I am happy with him and his choices. That voice is beautiful, and I do not need to hear him sing rock songs with a much of screaming, that will not do his voice justice. I like the deversity of this album. The uptemp songs fit just right, and he can sing them well. I can not wait to hear them live, even if this is not to next spring I will be there. Sure I would like a Fall concert but it might not happen and I will survive just listen to what we were gifted with.
  20. I was reading in another place that several people stated that the reason he has lost 3/4 of his fan base is because he has not progressed as a artist. What the hell do they want. I love this CD, maybe I am easy, but his voice is the best I have ever heard him. I like uptempo sounds but I do not need rocker Clay. I just need him to sing great songs and well, which he does. Another reason they stated is that he changed since A1 and has become rude and a big diva. My thought is that he is five years older, and some change will occur. He stills has the same values he had then, and I am sorry but I do not see the Diva. His behavior as far as I see is always appropriate to the event. If he gets testy once in awhile maybe there is a reason. If people want to leave that is their option, but to continue to spout over and over how he has disappointed them gets very tiring. End of my Rant.
  21. Will be in and out all day. Was sceduled to work 12 hours today, but got called at 5am and our censes was down and to many RN's sceduled so I am at home and on call for the next 10 hours. I am going to try and finish my laundry, clean a few bathrooms, and thinking I may treat myself to a french pedicure. I usually do it myself but feel like being pampered. Husband left for a week out of town for work, so I think some shopping is in order. I really am not a shopper, I usually know what I want and run in. I need to find some kind of PJ's that can be worn at night at the campsite, that do not look like pj's when I am running to the restroom in the middle of the night. Working the Buick Open this week should be interesting. Tiger not coming, and this am the local news reported that on Pro-Am day on Wednesday that Kid Rock is playing. I wonder how many of his fans will come out and watch him?
  22. Love all of your pictures of your precious kitties. I think cats are adorable but I am unable to own or go by them. My allergy is so severe that if I enter a home and do not know there is a cat my roof of my mouth starts itching within 5 minutes, then my eyes start itching, and soon my asthma starts in full force. If I go to a meeting or dinner at a home with a cat I can take an antihistamine and last almost two hours. This year I went and visited my SIL and knew she had a cat. Made it through short visits in the house but had to sleep in another house. This allergy is a real pain because several of my friends have cats. My allergy did not start till I was around 24. We had a cat during my senior year in HS and when I was in college.
  23. LAA - One of my favorites on the CD. I just love the way he sings this and the way the cello and his voice blend. I did not have the I-Tunes version, so could not wait to hear it in concert. I am very glad they put it on this CD. This weekend has been a whirl wind. Yesterday we set up the Buick Open, then came home at 12noon, showered, drove four hours to Cincinnati, to my nephew Grad. party, stayed a couple of hours, drove back, got home at 1230am, got up at 630am, rode our bikes 40 miles this am, then came home and started laundry while my hubby cut the grass. I think I need a nap. Clouds are coming in, the wind has picked up alot, and I am just waiting for the thunder and lightening. May have to shut down shortly.
  24. Have been listening to our local news in the last week and they have reported that Clio Amp. is going to be open this summer with 5 tribute shows. They are looking for sponsors and volunteers. The shows are free and want to get people excited and hopefully support them again. I am going to try and go a couple of times since it is a great venue. They are hoping in the future to support bigger acts again. I know those that went there had great memories.
  25. Thanks everyone for your good thoughts, I will continue to be postive. I have always been very good at getting my mammagram every year. When I had my first one at age 35 it came back with questionable areas and they did a ultrasound. Just showed fibrocystic disease, so I hope that this is just a big cyst. I think at times why I miss Clay so much right now is because I did not get the chance to see him in Spamolot. So I just keep going over and watching the AOL Sessions to make me feel better. When I talked about my husband listening to the album last night I memtioned he liked LAA, but he did say to me he liked it for the instructmentation and not the lyrics. He said that Clay was not a good writer. I did not want to argue with him, since I disagree, but just let it go and mentioned how I like the way the cello and Clay's voice blend. He always says that Clay has a good voice but does not get him. I was suprise that at the beginning of 2005 he made a burn CD of his favorites sounds of 2004. When we were on a trip he had it in the car, and two of Clay's songs came up. They were Mary Did You Know and Touch. Suprise me. I know that he does think that Mary Did YOu Know is one of the most beautiful Christmas songs and that Clay should be remembered as having the best rendition of it. He loves the guitar in this song. Suprising to me is that he hates Fallen, he does not like the reverb that is used.
