  1. Merry Christmas Everyone!!!!! I am up early starting the food for today. I have both my sons, who live within a hour away, and their wives here this afternoon. My middle son who lives in Florida could not come home because of work but we have talked to him last night and he is going to be with some friends today. I decided to have non traditional food today. I am sick of ham and turkey. My one DIL does not eat red meat, so I am having a chicken casserole, brocolli and cauliflower salad, fruit salad, bean soup, beer bread, and assorted desserts. Also assorted drinks. Got the soup going in the crockpot this minute, about ready to start the veg salad, made the fruit salad last night, and then I can cook the chicken for the casserole. Everyone will be here about 2. To Clay: You have made me enjoy myself this year with one of my dear friends who did at first have a hard time with the news but has resolved that feeling. We both never dreamed that we could talk our husbands into seeing you in New York, especially with the lost of my husband job, but we did and we will never forget the great time we had seeing you. I am so looking forward to a great year. Enjoy your Christmas with your family. You deserve it.
  2. It snowed a couple of inches last night and has been raining all day. The pretty white snow is now dark and dirty by the roads. Does not make good pictures. I hope everyone has a great Holiday time this year. I am looking forward to a better 2009. Personally it was a rough year with the death of my grandson and MIL, and the loss of my husband's job. I think with Clay the best is yet to come. Those pictures from yesterday are to die for. He looks gorgeous.
  3. He is just adorable in those pictures. I guess I am use to his idea of style and the sweather combination does not bother me. I just love how his happiness is obvious in the photos. This is such an honor.
  4. My husband went and did ski patrol so after he left I put in my dvd of the Kalamazoo concert. I really miss that voice. It just brings me back to being there, and the fun I had. I want a concert so bad. It stopped snowing but it is really windy. I do have ski patrol tomorrow and it is going to be really cold. I love skiing but hate being cold.
  5. My husband just went out to snowblow the driveway. We have about a foot of snow and he is afraid if it gets any deeper the blower will not work. It is blowing and snowing still very heavy. Suppose to keep going to about 7pm. My jacuzzi is almost burried, a foot on top of the cover and big drifts all around it. Where is that Florida room when I need it!
  6. Well, it is snowing really hard right now. My work woke me up at 5am and told me I could stay home but be on call. I think they are crazy if they think they can call me in later on. The weather is going to get worse all day. It normally takes almost an hour to get to work, can you imagine how long it will take me since there is spinouts all over the expressway according to the news. Then I no sooner get back to sleep and around 6am the school system called me on their phone fan system to tell me there is no school. I finally just gave up and got up and had coffee. I am sitting here thinking what I want to do. Couchie I hope you can work it out, I know I just go to my mom's once a week and do her things, but you have alot more responsibility. Hopefully you can find someone to help you. I know how much my trip ment to me, and I can imagine how you are feeling.
  7. Left for awhile. Our necomers club here in town had a toy drive for Toys for Tots, and I had to go to a local restraunt whose owner was sleeping outside all night to collect toys, and drop them off. I hope he is ready for a really cold night and lots of snow. He has his warm sleeping bag but says he probably will not sleep at all. I went into the store that they were putting the toys and it looked like they were doing well. I love the pictures from last night. Clay is really looking fine. I did not think the sweater looked as fugly as it was first described. I kinda like it.
  8. The weather here is going to be bad. We are looking up to 10 inches of snow into tomorrow. My husband said he would sub for someone at ski patrol tomorrow. I just keep laughing and telling him that it is going to be cold, windy, and snowing. I did not sign up so I do not need to go. He keeps saying a good wife would go and keep him company. I am not that crazy, maybe if he agreed to take me out to dinner first I would think about it. I beginning to hate cooking every night. I think after 31 years of marriage I can not get creative with recipes anymore.
  9. I can not believe how young he looks in those pictures. You would not know he is 30. That crooked smile just gets to me. I watched the you-tube segments of the E show last night. Not as bad as I thought it was going to be, they did not show the JP part. I may change my mind once I see that. I have to rely on it showing up on you-tube or CU because I do not have cable. Went to my Christmas Party for work last night. They were playing Christmas music, all of a sudden I heard that voice for OHN. The organizer said she purposely put the album on just for me. They only played the first two songs before they had a game and turned it off, but it was a surprise.
  10. My sister is a real Bo Bice fan. She has seen him more than I have seen Clay and had a meet and greet. The picture is in a big collage when you go down her basement. He husband teases her alot and tells me her photo albums of Bo are done to perfection and her albums of her three children are not finished. They are 21,18 and 12. I have never had a meet and greet but my husband I think would give me a real hard time if I put mine and Clay's picture up on the wall. He does not know I got my picture taken at Spam with Clay. I just do not go there. He is tolerant to a point. Got to love him. He just does not understand, must be a guy thing.
  11. Hey, Muskifest i so enjoy you smutting! When I have a bad day I just read your post and have to laugh. You write what some of us are thinking. I have no problems with the post with Clay and Reed IIT but some people that I have read elsewhere are a little OTT and I for one have not gone over to Reed's myspace, that in my opinion is OTT.
  12. Count me in on not having any connection and noing what is going on. I read statement from people that read as if what they are writing as fact and that everyone should know what they are talking about. I sometimes think I really am not part of this fanthom. I sometimes feel like an outsider looking in. I like reading everything about Clay but know no back channels and I am surpised at times when comments are made. Sure I like reading about Clay's personal life until it gets to invasive. I feel bad for him at times that he has to put up with some real OTT fans. I just hope that he never decides that he does not what to deal with it and chuck it all in. I want to hear that voice for a long time.
  13. We have had a mix this week in weather. I did ski patrol on Saturday and it was really cold and snowed all day. When we got home we had about 4 inches in our driveway. Then when I patrolled on Monday it was cloudy all day and cold. Monday night into Tuesday came the nightmare. First snow then freezing rain then plain rain back to snow with the roads freezing up. This morning it was a ice rink. Of course it was just snowing on Monday night when I decided to go out into the jacuzzi, I was out there less than 5 minutes when the freezing rain started. I stayed for 20 minutes with my hair very wet and freezing. We always say in Michigan if you do not like the weather it will change in 5 minutes.
  14. Smittenwithclay I enjoy reading your post over at the CB and OFC. You are able to reply and reason topics out so your point comes across very well. I also was at Kalamazoo and thought your story was great. I do like the pictures of Clay and Reed. Did not like how the Star mag wrote up their story. I can not believe that Jaymes would just leave. She went through a lot to have her dream and would not give up Parker that easily. I will not be buying that mag.
  15. Did not get to read the Q&A till after 8pm tonight and new some heads would explode. As much as I love original songs and especiall OMWH I do still love ATDW. I just want him to tour. I can deal with the next CD when the time comes. I am just glad that he is still recording. It does not sound like he was dropped as people were speculating. It would of been great to be there, it sounded as if everyone enjoyed it. Those fans who keep saying his career is over can leave if they are not happy. Why stay if nothing makes you happy. They do nothing but criticize his every move.
  16. Been lurking the last couple of days but have to say I enjoyed both of Clay's appearances this week. I could care less about the hair, clothes, makeup. Just glad to see him on my tv. Got a little scare when I tried to get CBS parade. Our local channel carried the Detroit parade and not NY. I then remembered with our digital converter I get some really off stations and I did find it. He interviews so well, he just makes me smile. Still feell like I ate to much yesterday. I do not know if I mentioned it, but my DIL who lost the baby in February had an ultrasound last week and everything looks good. She is having another boy. I just praying all goes well this time. Those pictures from the afterparty that I saw are really good. I like the one with the partial costume on and the wig. His shoulders are huge. Maybe we will get ET afterall.
  17. I was surprised this am when I was reading the paper and got to the people in the know section and there was a picture of Clay as Sir Robin and the article talked about the closing of Spamalot. We do not get alot of articles Clay related so it was unusual. Another cute things was I was watching the late night local news and they had a segment on Spam and showed the factory and how people are buying more. Then the newscaster said that they need to show Monty Python and the newscaster tried to sing Spam lovely Spam. I am trying to get ambitious this am. Ski Patrol yesterday I am surpised that I am not sore. They are calling for up to 4 inches of snow starting late tonight. I hate winter driving.
  18. I also have ordered a calender for my mother. She still has the 2004 calender up, but after looking at the pictures for each month I do not think it will make it to her. Just have to think of something else to get her at Christmas time. Besides money it is hard to get her anything because she really does not need anything specific. I join the ranks who have started their baking for Christmas. Made three kinds of cookies this am. I also, after dealing with my tendonitis in my arm for three months and my bowling average dropping by 10 pins, decided I needed to go the the doctor. I had tried everything I could think of to make it feel better and it still is killing me. Placed on a drug and sent to PT. Today was my evaluation in PT. Will start Monday for two weeks if it does not get better I will have to have it injected. Sounds like fun. We have had very cold weather with some snow. The ski hill has made snow and guess what I have patrol tomorrow. I was so hoping not to start till after Thanksgiving.
  19. I am so excited that Clay will be on Rosie's show. I was at my 87 year old mother house yesterday and she said she misses seeing Clay on TV. I told her about the possibility of ET on Friday and the Parade next week. She will be really glad that she will be able to see him also on Wed. night. I hope we get a detailed report of the Q&A with Clay. I would of loved to be there.
  20. I agree with you Muskifest I saw Quatum of Solace yesterday and found it meh. I like the old James Bond movies. Even the last ones with Pierce Bronson were good. Now instead of tongue and cheek they are dark and more violent. I am surprised they get a PG-13 rating. Again looking forward to Clay on ET. I know he will probably get pushed back for some other crazy story. They also put him on the same show as David Cook. While I was hoping he would win I listened to a stream of his album and was not impressed. He sounds like every other Pop/Rock group out there. I also have read some reviews of David A album and I am so tired of the comparisons to Clay. Some were not complimentary to Clay. David A voice is not even close to the quality of Clay's and I guess I hate the put downs. I do think both Davids will do well and I wish them luck. I am one who has a hard time on a Clay message board that Clay's fan just praise and praise these two people but will be the first to criticize anything Clay does. All of this is just by opionion. I should just learn to scroll.
  21. I am so glad to hear that he performed last night. I just hope he did not come back to soon. It is hard to believe that it has been one week since I saw the show. We had been afraid that he would not do the show because he was out on the Tues. before. I know that I would have been disapointed because it took so much for us to get there. I really felt bad for those who missed him this week. As disappointed as I would of been I would of understood. Illness happens and I for one would not want him singing if it would hurt his voice. Got to get some work done today. I got up later than normal, usually I am up at 6:30 but today I slept till 8. It is cold and rainy here and they are saying we will have snow tonight. I just got done washing my kitchen floor now I need to start another project. Also I should go out and do some Christmas shopping. My boys are so hard to buy for. They get everything they want so when it comes to Birthdays and Christmas it is hard to find the perfect gift. Last Christmas we got my son and his wife a video camera to film their new arrival due in May. That was never used because of the death of the baby in February, but she if pregnant and due in April. Next week we find out the sex. They have been kinda quiet this time, I am sure they are really scared. Once this baby is born ok the excitement will be there. Ok now to find the energy to be productive.
  22. We were concerned about the cost of food in NY because we had heard it was terrible. We went to a Chinese place called Ollie's Noodle on Friday night. It is on 42nd between 9th and 10th. My dinner with tip was only $16. On Saturday we went over to the WTC and grabbed breakfast at McDonalds for $6, then Saturday night ate at Juniors. My cost there with tip was again only $16. So except for a couple of diet cokes along the way I ate for around $40 for the days we were there. We had snacks we packed for the train and airport. For some reason I was not hungry inbetween to grab anything else. I thought the picture taken yesterday of Clay, Jaymes, and Parker was adorable. They really look like a family. Clay has a great smile on his face. I can not believe that already tomorrow will be one week since I first saw Spam. I would go back in a second if I could.
  23. Bottlecap I can not answer about the Playbill. I guess I am really in that Clay fog. I remember the talk on stage but I do not remember if just Clay signed it or the entire cast. Sorry.
  24. Got called off work this am and the first thing I did was try to come on here. I kept saying it must be my computer, then I too read at Ch that Corabeth was looking for a number. Made me feel better, than I saw the message on the front page. Withdrawal systems are not nice. I went about noon and took a nap, it is so gloomy and cold here. Originally they said sunny and 46. Have not seen the sun and the temp is in the 30's. Laundry and cleanning is boring.
  25. This is not really a recap of the show but of our travels to get there. The show was unbelievable and I think I am still in the Aiken fog. Yes, I did get my picture taken with Clay, Tom, and Rick on Saturday afternoon. Remember I had not gone to the first run, so everything was seen for the first time. We started on Friday morning getting up at 2am to leave at 3am. Took about 1 1/2 hours to get to Detroit, nasty raining weather when we left. Was flying standby so was afraid we would not get on the first flight but we made it and flew into Baltimore. Had to get on the list again there but made it and then flew into Long Island. Took a shuttle to the LIRR and proceeded to spend another 1 1/4 hours on the train to we got into Penn Station. Then took a taxi to our Hotel. When we arrived at about 2pm we had already been up 12 hours. But made it with no glitches. We did it all Auto,Plane, Train. Sounds like a backward movie. Because we got in early we started exploring. Of course we had to check out the Schubert. Walked and found it easily, we were staying about .5 miles away. We checked out another show but could not get SRO because they had not sold out so we headed back to the Shubert and got SRO. So Friday night we SRO, Sat. afternoon from the Orchestra section, and Sat. night from the balcony. Each show was a little different and I loved them all. I did miss Tom on Saturday night. Two couples were sitting in front of us on Saturday night, and at intermission the girls both said they did not get the humor and were not sure that they liked it. By the second half they all were laughing so hard and I noticed that the one couple did go up and get their picture taken with Clay. We went to Juniors inbetween shows on Saturday then proceeded back to our Hotel. Got up at 4:45 to get a cab back to Penn Station and our journey started in reverse. Would I do this again, you betcha. I loved the show. I just wish that I could of stayed longer and took in todays matinee. But looking at it our choice of flights were not looking good. I am not going to recap the show, other people have said everything so much better than I could of. I am just so happy to be a fan of a very talented man.
