  1. muskifest I feel for you. I had a badly swollen knee last summer and dealt with it by wearing a knee brace and using a cane..it was the only way I could safely walk along the trails around the cottage where I was holidaying. That and rest often. A recent x-ray of that knee shows some degenerative arthritis and when I moaned to my doctor that I'm going to New York in 3 weeks and I want to do a lot of sight seeing that was his advice. Use a cane and sit often and take breaks to rest your knee. bottlecap I just finished watching that performance and he did look sooo cute mmm and all those freckles. Randy says you are definitely one of the best in America and then Simon does his whole you aren't what we're looking for but as a Broadway artist you will make a fortune on the back of this. He did say that it was a compliment because "you have a great talent". Then the following week with Clay's performance of Solitaire, Simon says "you're one of the few people who can take criticism like a grown up and you did a grownup fantastic performance." Simon never saw Clay as fitting the role of what he, Simon, saw as a pop recording artist who could make him a bundle of money but he recognized Clay's talent. ETA Because of too many interruptions it took forever to compose this post and now I see that KAndre did a great resume of the whole show, tho' a little repetition on my part doesn't hurt.
  2. KarenEh I just finished reading the latest 2 entries to your blog. It is a fascinating look into a world so very different in many ways. I watched part of the dance performance but I gotta say after 2 minutes of watching those dancers landing on their shins I had to stop cause I was wincing so much. I hope you get a 4 ringed working kitchen stove soon. What a hassle making meals with just one burner. How wonderfully exciting...can it be true? A tour in July. I wonder how long it will be before the announcements of venues start. I wonder if he will ever have a tour with all the dates announced at once. I wonder if he will have a band this time. I suppose that might depend partly on the response to the new CD. I'm just babbling here. EEEEEEEEE!!!! More photos of the audience. Spamalot Anniversary in 3D
  3. That's because the hair in sideburns and beards are a different texture. I don't know what the scientific explanation is, maybe cause it's growing on the face not the scalp or maybe because it is short . My son who has soft reddish blond hair has sideburns that are red and wiry and those few times he has had a beard it's been the same. I wonder what's the texture of Clay's chest hair is. mmmm
  4. The humidifier will produce steam so I think that hot water would be just fine, cold ok too but will take longer to produce the steam. Hope you feel better soon...this cold/flu/whateverthehellitis bug going around is just naaaasty. I'm just recovering from a cold which as usual went down into my chest and it's been just over 3 weeks. Ah the media and the distortions they put over on the public. It has been forever thus except it is even worse now than during the Vietnam war. In Clayland one of the big lessons I would hope we have learned by now is always question the source of what you see, hear or read before believing it to be true. 4 weeks from today I'll be arriving in New York....such an adventure. It's hard for me to believe that I will actually be in New York(!!!) aaand possibly be just a couple of feet away from OBF when he signs a Playbill.
  5. Those of you who have seen the show a few times, have you noticed changes made by the other actors aside from the Knights of Ni?
  6. KarenEh Thanks for this link Karen, I hadn't seen it before and enjoyed such a wealth of clutches, tugs and yanks and those hips...mmmm...made my heart go pitter pat. Also enjoyed your blog and I hope to read more there of your new life in Baku.
  7. I have this fantasy. Hannah and Clay have discussed the "enthusiasm" of his fans and the fact that we notice every little detail about him. This information then spreads faster than wild fire through the message boards. Not only do the message boards find out about it within minutes of its occurrence but this detail then creates pages and pages of discussion. They decide to play around with us, hence the butt pinch.
  8. liney23 Thanks for clearing that up....so to be blogged is to be upset, disgusted, infuriated, sickened etc. etc. by some idiots' postings on the internet. Welcome gloch...I'm curious how did you come by your board name? It is fun to ship but isn't it a possibility that Hannah pinched OBF's sweet ass, knowing that his fans would see it, just to see what kind of a stir it would make among us?
  9. liney23 HUH? I think I missed something here...would you enlighten me, please?
  10. Welcome calclay liney23 I posted this in the Meet and Greet when I first posted here last December. I must admit that I have forgotten to check over there for quite a while. I have been totally addicted to everything Clay since June of 06 much to the detriment of my garden and housekeeping but oh what joy he has brought into my life. Still grieving for my DH of over 30 years, a sweet loving man, and waiting for the results of the investigation of a medical situation which, in it worst case scenario, would leave me totally disabled, both mentally and physically, I was spending my evenings surfing the net. I would fall into bed exhausted but then able to sleep, my brain too tired to go thru all the what if's. So one night I happened to come across a video of Clay singing...one of the AI2 videos..and I wish I could remember which one it was and that was it. Who is this beautiful young man with the wonderful voice? There followed hours of video watching, blog reading (some of which made me heart sick) and I staggered off to bed at 4:00am, dazed and amazed. There followed more investigation and a growing feeling which I found puzzling. Never had I felt this way about a singer and here I was, a grandmother of 5, feeling like a teenager, a randy teenager at that. After days of downloading videos, magazine articles and pretty well anything else I could find, I discovered fan boards and found a place for myself at the LBFCA, a place which understood this mixture of lust and maternal feelings. For the following three months I would fall asleep at night with his voice in my ears, when I gardened, he was with me, when I woke in the morning his voice was singing in my heart. He got me through a rough patch. My children think my fandom is cute and are glad that I am enjoying life again. I have told a few friends and they too see what a difference there is in my attitude toward life but....there are those to whom I will not speak of Clay because of what I know will be their judgment of him and me. That's their loss. I must add ...maternal feelings? not so much any more..lustful..definitely. The lightness in my heart has come not only from enjoying everything Clay but from becoming part of this remarkable Sisterhood of Clayfandom. Oh and the medical condition after weeks of investigation turned out to be nothing really serious.
  11. Well darn I just lost my whole post with nice links and all. It is so hard to decide but two pieces which always get me are 1) Jimmy Kimmel ATD especially when his profile is to the camera and Clay is singing "I would do anything, just believe me" I saw this show less that 3 months after I had discovered Clay on YouTube and become hopelessly besotted with him. This felt so hot. 2)BMUB again in profile as he is singing "I'll be beside the phone waiting for you, you hoo, you hoo" Then there are the various hilarious bits of banter and 2 I always enjoy are, the starting at 8:15 "No but you're hot though" the look on Clay's face and the "I'll take that" The SRHP Tampa Have you taken your medicine?
  12. Easiest answer to the question: Clay says it himself. A lot. Anytime someone says to him "you can dance," he says "no way." I honestly think he'll never change with that either. Personally, I'm with luckiest in that I think he moves pretty well, and I think with training (such as what he's getting via Spamalot), he'll get better. But I sincerely think he'll NEVER EVER fully admit to "being a dancer," or even "I can kinda sorta dance on occasion." I think much of that is his way of playing down things -- his self-deprecating humor. It does sound as tho those big turning out feet of his gave him problems in sports and probably do with dancing. I can't say that I saw anything in that Christmas clip that would indicate that he can do anything more than the bare basics of the shag, dance that is. With lots of practice Clay has learned the simple, tho in the case of the bottle dance physically difficult, dance steps required of him for Spamalot. I hope that it will give him the confidence to try to dance a bit more in the future but it will mean that he will have to really work at it and maybe he just doesn't see being able to do a choreographed dance at his concerts as important. Remember in one of those WRAL clips about Spamalot he said that he just mouthed the words of the chorus because he can't breathe. Anyway it has become part of Clay's schtick that he can't dance and he loves to play up on it as he did this summer. He gets such a roar of delighted approval from his audience when he does manage a simple dance move. As long as he continues to move about the stage with joyous exuberance and occasional sexiness, I'll be happy to drink it in.
  13. Permaswooned Your photo of Clay from Tampa is one of only two which I have at my computer desk. One can launch dreams from that beautiful lower lip...sigh. I don't post often but FCA is the first board I read in the morning and I always check it before going to bed. Summer heat and amphitheatres not a happy combination for someone like me who starts to wilt and slip into neutral when the temperature hits over 80F. I hope his summer tour, and there really has to be one, yeah I know I'm not supposed to tell him what to do, but it would be so unwise not to have a tour to support an album he's seems to be so happy about, takes him closer to the Pacific North West. I given up hope of his ever coming to Vancouver. I'd rather not have to travel so far to see him. I can justify flying to New York from Vancouver as an early very special birthday present. On the other hand I have noted how much easier it is for me to contemplate hopping on a plane and flying off for 3 or 4 days than it was in pre-Clay days.
  14. KarenEh I see your name down at the bottom of the page in Italics...don't know the significance of that but if you are reading here I hope your flight was good. I have no idea how long it takes to fly to your new home and whether you are there or still in transit. I'm so glad that through the wonders of technology we can still hear from you and you from us.
  15. I have been reading 3 boards and I felt really sad, very upset by it all. Such a waste of energy when we could be enjoying the joyous sexiness of OBF. So my contribution to getting rid of the bad taste all this haranguing has brought is to bring you a link to a video I have watched many times but still really enjoy. Make sure you watch it to the very end after the credits. Satisfy Me
  16. If you don't have a flash player you can download one from here and it does work well. http://www.download.com/FLV-Player/3000-2139_4-10467081.html
  17. I am so excited and can hardly wait until tomorrow. Sooo...when do you think the WRAL piece was taped? I am hoping that, hairstylewise, it was a while ago and that by now he has taken into consideration how much his fans prefer the mussed, tousled just finished the performance look to what he is wearing in those clips. Poor Clay, he must be really ill to not be performing tonite and poor fans who are attending tonite. I suppose it was inevitiable that he would get sick at some time during his run in Spamalot during flu and cold season. I do hope he has someone making sure that he is eating good, nutritious food.
  18. It's sunny? You're going for a walk on the beach with your bears? Is it nice and warm where you live? Sigh...I am sick of winter. Hope you have a fun time at your SPAMSLAM. OOlsee No problelm. I always hoped that at least one of the 2 who bought the grand pianos would do as David Foster suggested and have a concert and recoup some of the money they spent, which is a hell of a lot even with tax deductions.
  19. In Sept 06, at David Foster's Star Search Gala both the owner of the River Rock Casino and the owner of Mission Hill Winery paid $500,000.00 each for a special grand piano with Clay to sing 3 songs and David Foster to play for him. Could these recitals already have happened and no one in Claydom heard about them? Is such a thing possible?
  20. cindilu2 I just downloaded their Canandaigua SRHP montages, loved them and look forward to the time when goldarngirl and luckiest1's have done Sterling Heights since that was the one concert of the SRHP tour I was able to attend. I've been musing about the progression of my fanhood. I went to Star Search in Vancouver but didn't consider going to the Gala because of the expense. Then last summer, since I was back east anyway, I went the Sterling Heights concert, didn't consider going to Los Vegas cause I'd already bought tickets to the Minneapolis concerts. (I now shake my head over missing that opportunity). In April, I'm off to NY for 5 days to 2 probably 3 performances and touring NY with 3 Winnipeg fan friends and who knows what will happen this summer. It just gets easier and easier. Two years ago I'd have never believed that it was possible for me. Cotton Those are such cute teddy bears. And cindilu2 Thanks.
  21. OOlsee a footnote to luckiest1's suggestions. Aflack's Independence Tour series is lots of fun as well as being an excellent Best of. It seems that she has not done any new montages for a while, which is a pity, all are good and a couple I'd recommend are The One and Only and I Survived Asshat. These are available at CU. In 2006 she put out Block Party....I wasn't around for that party where all the boards got together to celebrate Clay and she made a montage of people's favourite photos and video clips. I looked around for it but it isn't available any more.
