  1. Ryan Seacrest on his return from Europe was asked his opinion on the news that Clay is going to be a father. Here is the link Seacrest response to babydaddy story
  2. Is that also known as the Cinnamon Trail?
  3. luckiest Yeah!! This was the first concert of Clay's I'd seen and the only one of last summer's tour. I am anticipating an excellent montage of the concert. How could it be otherwise with the collaboration of you and goldarngirl. I'll be sending off a copy to my mother so she can further understand my love of Clay. liney23 I went to listen to and rate Clay on the Rolling Stone site and got this message. Pooh!! Clayzoraback I care, I care. Thanks for the info ldyjocelyn Thanks for this link ...I picked up a number of new emoticons for my collection. And also thanks for bringing over the wallpapers...very nice. Emoticon Heaven at FCA
  4. Thank you cha cha. I'm not leaving home tomorrow morning until 930 Pacific time so if there are any more suggestions? more verses to cha cha's poem?
  5. Weelll....lets just say that Dan Savage give sex advice and the PJ changes the taste so that it is easy to swallow. You can see why I need help here. I think that, as a 65 yr old grandmother of 5, I would feel better giving this advice to my 30 something yr old niece if I could do it with humour.
  6. Channel surfing tonight I came across 2 things of note. On PBS I saw Orleans singing "Still the One", a song I'd never heard until I saw Clay's Hometown performance and a song I love listen to. There are now many songs which I consider to be Clay songs in that if I hear them on the radio and he's not the one singing them I feel disappointed. I really am not interested in hearing anyone else sing them. And then I caught some of KG on LKL. I'm glad I missed her remarks on Clay...I suppose they were a logical follow up to her whole wedding dress number at the music awards. One thing about her tho, is that no celebrity is safe from her "humour". BBQ mmm there's a restaurant on the Drive called the Memphis Blues Barbeque House which serves a platter for 2 called The Memphis Feast which has all meat plus all the fixins'. I've never been faced with so much meat on one platter before and all of it delicious. Chicken and sausage and pulled pork and spareribs and brisket. The two of us were stuffed and took more than half of it home. I'm going to a wedding shower tomorrow and all the guests have been asked for advice for the bride which will be put into a scrap book. My daughter suggested that my advice be that, which I did use when my DH was alive,to both of our satisfaction, given by Dan Savage on feeding your man a glass of pineapple juice every day. Those of you who are still awake do you have any suggestions on how I can phrase this so that it is funny?
  7. Thanks FearofH2O. I really needed that laugh and yes one of the lines that I really enjoyed is luckiest1 OMG 38 C yikes that's 100F...When the temp gets that high I still need to convert to Farenheit....I hope it cools down this evening. Not weed pulling weather.
  8. I found this this morning in an article in The Daily Mail "Cannes of worms: The ugly truth about the world's most famous film festival". The press reaction to Clay is all part of this ugly celebrity gossip culture justified because it sells papers, it keeps people watching the celebrity gossip television shows and because "we're just giving people what they want". Bread and circuses...while millions around the world are starving, while the cost of oil is rocketing up to $200.00 a barrel...bread and circuses. As long as Clay is a celebrity this crap will continue. Does anyone out there have a joke? I'm feeling blue, the weather here is terrible, rain and 50F and a long range forecast for most of June being like this. ps thanks for all the recipes for sexy cakes.
  9. Iseeme Thanks for the recipe. That certainly looks like a tasty rich dessert but better than sex?...mmm..don't think so. For me if a cake is going to be a substitute for sex (notice I didn't say better than) it would have to have chocolate in it. Right..I can stroll down memory lane all summer...organize my Clack. goldarngirl and after that Sterling Heights?
  10. I wish there some other news of Clay out there to squee about and watch Clack about and discuss. I'm tired of what this baby stuff is doing to my head. Today at the end of exercise class, lying there on my mat when I could have been listening to the instructor's voice as she talks us into relaxation, what's going thru my mind? A possible Clay and Jaymes baby and I wonder if this means no tour and if it means the start of another drought. How did you all get through the drought of 2006? I wasn't around until mid June of that year and was spending my time vacuuming up as much historic Clack as I could find. I had not yet become accustomed to the kind of wealth of Clack which we have had since September of 2006. It feels crazy that I'm going through withdrawal already. Wow! There's a Better than Sex cake? Does anyone have the recipe? Now I can get excited about that. Does it have chocolate in it? Is it anything like the Sex in a Pan cake?
  11. from JustJared, next to a photo of Clay and Mary is Wonder if that gave TC a chuckle? Please don't throw tomatoes at me but I'm not thrilled at those photos. I don't know if it is the angle of the shots or what but it looks like OBF is putting on the pounds again. He looked slimmer in those street shots taken of Quiana, Jaimie and him.
  12. Hee, I love all these clips you are bringing back, reminding me of. Just watched the Standard interview again, that was a great one. And I do believe that yes, he was staying at Jaymes' house that time. Now I need to go dig out that JBT footage! It was early in my fandom that I read a blog of his concerning time spent in B.C. It might have been at the time of the interview or at the time of the Foster Gala and it was at Jaymes house. I remember being ticked off in my rain forest west coast chauvinism when he made mention of the view and the desolate islands...desolate? what? Thanks for mentioning this interview which I just watched for the first time in a long while. It really is one of the best and longest interviews with him. It is interesting to note how different Clay's definition of success is from some of his fans. He says Failure is putting out an album that is not true to him. Success is putting out an album that represents him in a good and honest way.
  13. I was awakened by my daughter calling me on her way to work. "So is it true Mum. Is Clay going to be a daddy?" So I got on the board here and read her one of the latest sensible posts and said I won't know unless one of them confirms the story. After scanning a couple of other boards, I felt relief that all the talk about what is perceived to be poor CD sales is off the agenda, for today at least. What's that Bonnie Rait song "Let's give them something to talk about"?
  14. I have been in Vancouver all day and have just been back long enough to read todays posts here. So it's very interesting to find myself going from "what??? TMZ says Clay's going to be a daddy? TMZ? Oh yeah that reliable news source " to starting to believe that it might actually be true and getting pissed off that the artificial insemination part was getting emphasis, and wondering how many thousands of hand made baby booties would be sent to Jaymes by Clay fans and wondering if Clay would be sending them to Afghanistan.. to now...well I wonder what the heck is true. All the sources quoted other than the Province are gossip sites...People is a gossip magazine. And the Province is known for its sensational news treatment. Good lesson in all this. Wait to hear it from the the people involved. ETA And once I started to think that this might be true my next thought was "Oh Hell's Teeth, no fall tour!"
  15. clayzedover I think that Clay took a few days out of his tour last summer...was it for the wedding of a friend (I'm having a senior moment and cannot remember the reason) and wasn't it almost a week so he could still tour and do the Gala. I am so glad that I haven't been spending hours on the boards today. I cannot stand all the worry going on about this CD which has been out for just 22 days. I wish these same people could put their energies into something constructive and that the anxious mummies out there could just stop worrying about something they can do very little about except to not act in such a way that even more people are put off by the obnoxious behaviour of some Clay fans. I love the AOL sessions and went back to view again the sessions from MOAM where I note that he didn't move around either. Oh dear, poor Scarlett, why did she make this CD?
  16. me too..and every morning I wake up to Clay singing another song in my mind. This morning it was "Falling" Today I worked in the garden listening to Clay on my IPod. I just press All. There are around 70 of his songs on the menu, the time passes so pleasantly and then into the kitchen where it is good that I live alone so no one can hear me singing IWCY off key, loudly while chopping veggies for a stir fry. A lot of the songs bring a video of a performance, often more than one, to mind. I really hope Clay tours this year, I want to have videos of OMWH songs to play in my head along with the music. I enjoy all the songs except GOG. Just wish it were a different phrase than "grace of God" such as "twist of fate". WORD
  17. keepingfaith Thanks for the links to some of the songs from The Last Waltz. I remember coming out of the theatre after seeing this movie with my girlfriend and both of us swooning over Robbie. Oh to have been there in Winterland for that concert which came complete with Thanksgiving dinner. 3 or 4 years ago I bought the DVD of the concert. I think it's time to watch it again. Oh yes.
  18. Thank you all. And, luckiest1 it was also good for me to be reminded because I do know a few people who have changed later in life.
  19. For three quarters of my life I have lived away from cities so have attended very few concerts but I have been to many folk music festivals where I have seen many of the folk music legends. In 1965, 1966 and sometime in the 70's I went to Bob Dylan concerts, was there in 1966 when he was being booed for changing from acoustic to electric and in 1967 saw the Jefferson Airplane. I was pregnant at the time and the music was so loud I had to stuff tissue in my ears. I don't remember much of the concert other than the venue was not very big and that Disney's hookah smoking caterpillar was projected behind the band as they sang " go ask Alice when she's 10 feet tall". Recently I subscribed to Google alerts for 'Spamalot Clay Aiken' but canceled it this morning after reading yet another spiteful swipe at Clay. I find it too hurtful to read this crap. I need some advice, some tips on how to respond to a friend who tells me that Clay is gay. Now, I do not think that there is anything wrong in being gay, in fact my daughter is gay but yes I would be disappointed if somewhere down the line Clay said he is. The reason I would be is that he sets great store in being truthful and he would have been lying to us. Okay I'll get to the point. When I hear this my brain seems to switch off and I become less than articulate. All I usually come up with is that Clay has stated a number of times that he isn't and I believe him. So I need some good arguments, some tips , some talking points. Maybe i just need to smile and say "well that's just your opinion"? Suggestions? Anyone?
  20. Yikes...I just lost the post I have been composing for the last half hour. bottlecap Thanks for you for your perspective on Clay's silence. As well as this the guy does need a rest before going once more into the fray. Welcome Tijala (darn I can't get the emoticons to show all..so imagine a bouncy happy smiley here) Thanks luckiest1 for the free ringtone info. I am pretty clueless when it comes to my cell phone. I think I might have taken a handful of pix on it since I got it over a year ago and that included one of the Schubert Theatre. An usher came pretty quickly to inform me that was not allowed... and even tho' I can always use another pretty picture of Clay it was 10 minutes to curtain time and I just wanted a picture of the pretty theatre. ldyjocelyn Me too....no one close to me. I had the pleasure of having lunch with KarenEh in Houston last spring and babbled away for the whole time. I had never had that pleasure of talking about my Clay obsession to someone who completely understood. It was a great feeling. Which reminds me I hope that when I visit Houston at the end of October can I meet the posse. Pleeease? (imagine a pleading smiley here) goldarngirl can vouch for me...goldarngirl was generous enough to respond to a post of a Clay concert newbie asking about Sterling Heights which resulted in my visiting her and travelling to the concert with her. It was my very first Clay concert. It was all very exciting and a little overwhelming. There I met a fan from Winnipeg whom I had met on LBFCA and had been e-mailing and in December joined her in Minneapolis and again in New York in April. Even tho' I have always thought that it would be wonderful to visit New York, I never thought that I actually would. Love of Clay and having 3 enthusiastic Clay fans to join up with made it possible for me. A year and a half ago it would never have occurred to me that I could form a friendship with someone halfway across this country, stay with her and her family and then join the cavalcade of fans going to a concert in Michigan. A year ago, the idea that I would go see the same musical 4 times in the space of 5 days would seem totally improbable and tho' I did enjoy The Lion King, I wish I had seen Spamalot for the fifth time. If I lived in Ontario, I would go to New York every spring and stay in a hostel just so that I could explore the museums, having got a taste of that in April. Becoming an obsessive fan of Clay Aiken has opened up a an exciting new world to me.
  21. Thanks for the reviews of last nights AI "reality show". Thank Heavens they didn't. I am so glad that he is finished with them. Now if the media could just stop with the constant association of Clay with them. For a real reality show here is a link to an eagle cam. There are 2 fuzzy eagle chicks in the nest. A few minutes ago I saw one of the parents feeding the chicks.Eagle Nest Live
  22. laughn thanks for the link to the AP interview. Yes, Clay sound so self assured, so confident. It would be great if more of his fans would recognize this and just give his CD time...after all it's only been 15 days since it went on sale. In case anyone wants to stream from the AP podcast page here is the link AP Broadway podcast . cotton Thanks for my morning laugh. Once again I am impressed by your talent and that of so many of Clay's fans. And when you do get an optimistic thread started at OFC please let us know where to find it. How long did it take last time for Clay mini concert to appear on the Pontiac Garage?
  23. I love this album and don't see the point in agonizing about its promotion or sales. There really is not much more that I, as a fan with no skill at making montages and no access to local AC stations that take requests, can do other than enjoy the music and think positively. I will continue to read here and scan elsewhere to pick up what ever precious little nuggets of information about Clay that I can find. Now that OBF is taking a well deserved rest and hanging out with friends, family and dogs, I am hoping that this is the time when I can at last get away from my computer and the compulsive checking up several times a day of various Clay fan boards that has become an obsessive habit. A few months ago I found a wonderful site called www.ted.com which has some fascinating talks on a wide variety of subjects. This morning I watched one on the intelligence of crows and another on 6 ways that mushrooms can save the world. Well worth checking out during times of Clack drought.
