  1. HeidiHo My immediate reaction was to switch channels! Couldn't help myself! playbiller Are you referring to the woman on the right? Isn't that Hannah? Presuming that it gets on the Pontiac Garage site, when someone finds the video clip of Clay can you post its location? I went there tonite and I don't know how you'd find a particular video among all of them.
  2. i was just checking in before heading off to bed and read: Thank you claytonic Really enjoyed this and loved the expressions on the judges faces when the second dancer came on with the broom. What a wealth of beautiful photographs today of OBF...I am overcome and having difficulty expressing myself. He looks so delicious I would just love to eat him up....mmmm...that may be the wine talking.
  3. EEEEE...Here are a lot more of those gorgeous photos. Hot Celebrity Photos Good to see that his hotness is recognized.
  4. Just saw this 2 Nice photos on Just Jared I wish they could get it right but then Clay doesn't ever emphasize that he did write one of the songs.
  5. Iseeme I find the whole discussion of ballad versus "up tempo" songs interesting. Simon stated many times that what he was looking for on AI was a pop singer. He never said we're looking for someone who sings ballads beautifully and Paula congratulated Clay, when in her terms, he finally demonstrated that he was "the pop singer". Perhaps this is one of the reasons why it was better for Clay to have come in second. When I look at the old video of Clay singing YTO with his band...he is having such fun just as he seems to have fun performing "up tempo" songs during his tours. Now some people I recall are annoyed by the tern "up tempo" but it is one which OMC himself uses during AI2R when talking about THAI when he refers to people having the mistaken impression that all he sings are ballads. No matter....thanks to ATDW, Clay is now type cast and perhaps he is just accepting the niche into which he has now been slotted. I just wish that the climate of the music industry was such that he could be accepted for singing ballads and pop/rock.
  6. Ansamcw I for one am glad that WINY was included as a bonus track because I love it. You know how some of the extended notes Clay sings can just grab your heart? That's how the last "eyes" of "When I need love I just close my eyes" affects me. Maybe WINY was included for those who do love an old fashioned song. So when was it recorded? Back in 2003?
  7. It's still early out here on the left coast but I am glad to hear that OMC looked so fiiiine on Leno. I have a question for you accomplished buyers of CD's with xtra songs. I just downloaded OMWH from Itunes and there was no extra song. Does this mean I am doomed to not hearing it? evah? And what about WalMart....is the xtra song available on CD's sold in Canada. And how many xtra's were there? I was away from home while all this info was being posted and I don't know where to find it.
  8. I'm sorry that I missed the Listening Party but my own party was pretty wonderful. My kids did a wonderful job and although I had asked them to tell people no gifts they decided that I should have a cruise for a birthday gift...I was so stunned that I was almost speechless. I'll read the Listening Party tomorrow meanwhile I am really enjoying listening to the CD and yes I want to support it so can someone tell me...if I buy OMWH on Itunes in Canada will it count towards his sales? I just downloaded and watched ABC World News Now Play List and dammit I get so pissed off at the way these 2 newscasters refer to Clay. What is their problem that they have act, as Clay put it "too cool for school"? What... if they don't act really amused at the mention of his name someone might think that they are uncool? :glare: :glare: Guess I haven't been a fan long enough to get used to this crap.
  9. I would love to join the CD discussion this evening and tomorrow but...it's my birthday and Mother's Day on Sunday, party for the 65th tomorrow, family arriving late this afternoon, so cannot. But would you please repost the link to the discussion and I can read it later tonite when all are in bed. Thanks.
  10. Radio interview...good one. K103 Portland's Soft Rock Station
  11. You all sure posted a lot today. I've just finished reading it all. OOlsee you and I have something in common today. I was at the dentist this morning but having a root canal. It went really well. My dentist is young, sweet and gentle and I had the most relaxed hour and a half in the chair because I was listening to the new CD on headphones. It's funny how technology, a discman, from just 5 years ago can seem so outdated and clunky now. Clay's voice relaxes me, makes me feel happy and I really love all the songs, some more than others but all are good. I've got to get this onto my Ipod. claytonic...thanks for the glossary...it will be a good brain exercise for me to memorize the acronyms. cha cha trusty...thanks for the caps from TITN DVD. Photo #4 has always been a favourite of mine. and ldyjocelyn..that link to tsunamimommy's GMA photos had me d/ling so many of them that I wish there was a download them all button. I enjoyed seeing Clay on the View so much more than the brief appearance on GMA yesterday. Clay looked so good and relaxed and there was no shirt tail hanging out...there's something about a shirt tail hanging out under a sweater that bugs me. I first heard OMWH when I was in NY in early April and I wasn't that impressed but now it has definitely grown on me. I melt every time I hear "I melt every time we kiss" from WIDTL. cindilu2 (Italics mine) YEP
  12. It's been hard reading all the negativity about the CD sales numbers. This morning, I was feeling very happy about the CD, had enjoyed seeing Clay on GMA even tho' that appearance was shorter than I expected and was eagerly anticipating his upcoming television appearances. Then...I started reading the boards and I felt heartsick and then angry at myself for letting my joy be affected by so much negativity. But dammit, I am still pissed off at all the moaning and gnashing of teeth that has gone on. And good for Clay to blog and try to set things straight...interesting that the blog is no longer there. Probably a very wise move. ETA Okay so I scurry over to OFC and if you're not a member of OFC you can read the blog...strange.
  13. Oh I hope not. When I read of over over protective mommy fans reacting this way I just cringe and I have to work hard to prevent it from upsetting me and taking away some of the joy of being a Clay Aiken fan. Last night I happened across a blog written for gays and the blogger said something fairly innocuous about Clay and there were a number of comments by supposed fans who jumped all over him for these comments. It was so OTT. Damn when will they learn that this response is just alienating? I can't listen to ONMH on my computer...something to do with Active-X but I'll be with fans on Wednesday in New York (eeeeeee!!!) and someone is bound to be able to get it.
  14. Just read this over at CH and don't remember seeing it here. When Clay bent down nice and low to look up the skirt of the young woman in Camelot he stuck out his tongue and waved it up and down. mmmmm
  15. bottlecap Thanks for the link to the young Clay photos at CB. I found a number that I hadn't seen before. It will be interesting to hear how this works...how many people does the theatre hold? As for him not coming out to the SD, I thought it had been already reported that Clay now sleeps after the Saturday and Sunday matinées and doesn't come out for that reason. I was feeling a little gloomy today but that puts a smile on my face.
  16. I had forgotten that Clay would be on that AI whatever show tonight. Thank you for posting about it. I just have to say how fine he looks even with his straight hair (I really do prefer the tousled look, the fingers just run through it look...as in that first perfectly delicious sexy photo Irishbookgirl took...see Post #344...Lotus slips into a sweet fantasy....now how would that feel? my fingers, his hair) and how fine he sounds and what a good feeling I have after seeing this clip. Yes I'm babbling. What can I say? He makes me happy.
  17. I decided to check in here before going to bed after not reading the boards for a few hours so I'm late to the discussion. I really enjoy FCA. It is now the first board I read in the morning and the last I read at night. I also enjoy reading other boards, mainly CV, CH and LBFCA...I rarely read OFC and I find CB confusing. There are aspects of all the boards which I enjoy but today I have found all the angsting I read on some boards very tiring and it made me feel sad. I ended up scanning to find the happy postings which started appearing after the initial flurry of concerned and worried posts..I knew they would appear eventually, they always do. I was feeling over the moon at the prospect of a tour promoting the album this year and was even happier that it might be this fall. Of course, Clay and his team are going to do what they want and what they think is the best course of action. It is not necessarily what I might want but I do think that it is alright for me to express my own disappointment. I just wish that there had been no mention of a tour this July in the first place. I do hope that things have settled down by the morning. I'm off to bed....goodnite.
  18. As Gladys Knight said "There's something magical about your look." There surely is. And his look is still magical through all the many changes in his appearance over these 5 years. I wonder if there is any other singer who has had so many photographs taken by fans. I wonder if there is any other singer whose fans have access to thousands of photographs of the person they so love and admire.
  19. Yeah! All of us who are regularly reading and posting on fan board/s and saving Clack and spending multi bucks on travelling to concerts and some of us putting up with crap from family have a big investment of time, money and emotion in Clay. And not just in Clay when you take into account all the friendships that have evolved out of this sisterhood of Clay. I think it is only natural to want his career to go on a path that will allow me to continue to enjoy being his fan. I'm not saying that is a good thing, I'm just saying that can be part of being a fan for some people. I have no idea how I am going to react to his new CD until I hear it a few times. I wasn't that thrilled with ATDW at first but I love most of the songs on it now. I remember vividly being at the concert at Massey Hall in Toronto in 1965 (OMG that is 42 years ago!) when Bob Dylan played the first half acoustically and the second half electric with The Hawks who eventually became The Band. Wow..the amount of booing that took place. These were fans who knew every song and had spent hours discussing and figuring out what exactly he meant by his lyrics. They said he had "sold out". The booing went on from the US to Canada to the UK but Dylan never lacked for fans. The ones I knew who booed remained fans once they got over the shock. Submitted after much thought and some trepidation.
  20. Sure aren't many around here tonight. I read this over at CV and felt so good reading it....Clay is winning people over all the time. Goodnight all eleven of you.
  21. keeping faith I hope you can get a good sleep tonight, falling asleep to the sound of ATDW's Clay. I'm beginning to think that I need an intervention. I have to prepare for a trip to Vancouver tomorrow and I'm leaving for New York in just 11 days and will be visiting my mum in Ontario and won't be back until may 6th. So what do I do today, before and after having a long lunch with a couple of friends? I download and burn to DVD the Clay segments of AI2Rewind up to Top 8 and then this afternoon sit and watch them on my tv, cause of course it's an even better experience on a large screen. I still cannot get enough of watching his AI2 performances. I would have thought that after 1 3/4 yrs of fandom I would not get so totally sucked in. I went to the Amazon UK site and saw 2 books there with the Clay Aiken stuff that I had not seen before. Can anyone tell me about. 1) The Underdog's Guide to Life by Clay Aiken (Hardcover - 15 Sep 2004) 2)Clay Aiken: Second-Place Star of American Idol (Blue Banner Biography) (Hardcover) by John Torres
  22. I have just finished watching a video of DHP on the View on YouTube. Warning it is terrible video quality. When asked How do you do that all that dancing he replies "Two words, physical therapy" He also mentions that occasionally his pelvis gets stuck. Also he tells of a family in the front row who was passing a bag of potato chips back and forth..so distracting, cell phones ringing and one time a lady who threw up on the person in front of her and didn't even apologize. Something to keep in mind when we see or read of audience behaviour we don't like.
  23. Thank you all of you who post recaps here. I cannot get enough of reading about how good Clay performances are and I just feel so privileged that I will be seeing him in just over 2 weeks. I just finished watching the following amzing 18 minute talk by Jill Bolt Taylor who is a neuroanatomist. She is describing what it felt like to be having a stroke caused by a cerebral hemorrhage. It is a fascinating insight from someone who studies the brain and brain disorders and I was so impressed by it that I just have to post the link for any of you who may be interested. I hope you don't mind my interjecting this in the midst of all the celebration of Clay's beauty. ETA ooooo Clay strutting, tight pants...love the image. And...wow I just noticed I'm a body guard now...does this position come with any privileges?
  24. I love the cover portrait of Clay but part of me was wondering what is it that is bothering me about it? He does look so beautiful but it is an idealized portrait just as the ones for AIW and ATDW are. Flawless skin, no line on his forehead and such a sharp jaw line and really when was the last time he had a jaw line like that...when he was a thin gawky 23 yr old boy and now he is a well built man who is in good shape, having lost weight. How many pounds did he say he put on with the meds 20 or 30? I doubt he will ever have such a jawline again. And if he did, we would all know that something was wrong because he would have lost so much weight. And yet...I love this cover. And now I'm off to bed..........Easter egg hunt early this morning.
  25. oH my GAWD!!!!! What was she thinking? And now for something completely different.... This is a video of a Finnish group playing before an enthusiastic crowd in Moscow and backed by the Red Army Chorus. It's a hoot and another good laugh would be nice about now.
