  1. I don't know why everybody is trying to clarify their posting style. Just post what you want and read what you want, give your fellow posters the benefit of the doubt and short termy memory work too. LOL. It's Monday already. I guess I should drag myself up and out of here. Happy Monday. We have a lot of members going to the show so if any of you would just like to call up another one of us to report your impressions at any time during the evening that would be cool. Not a formal thing cuz you enjoying your self comes first.
  2. can somebody tell me the free secuirty computer programs and where to get them? My free subscription has run out.
  3. HOnestly, there will ALWAYS be differences of opinions about what's good. There is no right answer whether you are in the minority or majority opinion. I certainly never mind having a minority opinion ever. THat's just life. I didn't like any of the open arms with Kelly and Clay but being in the audience when he came out to join her was always electric. I didn't like Clay's new version of MGUCL this year so was thrilled as hell on the final show when I noticed on the first line of the song that he was going to sing it differently and I went bonkers when it turned into a trio. It wasn't perfection but it was special because it was different and it was something they pulled together. I really wish they had time to fine tune it over the course of the tour. I guess I should go to work. I just have to keep remembering NYC NYC NYC.
  4. don't believe that line about you not needing your own laptop if you're with the ehp. They aren't going to let theirs out of their site..they sleep with them!! heee kived the blog...so quiana wouldn't come home from work and play with him heee.
  5. KAndre I match what you said. I grew up listening to mostly gospel music and soul music. The only other time I was really into music was 80s pop. Then I dropped out. So I can really relate to the style that Fanny and JHud and Ang and Quiana sing. I know Fantasia is really an acquired taste, either you love or hate her. I love her and think she has so much talent - the person in the past that she reminds me most of is old time Tina Turner. Talk about a screecher. LOL. Well I think Fanny is that good and she gets better each year as she learns to control that emotion and passion on stage - all that comes right from the church. Clay totally is my anomaly -- well I can put him into my 80s foray category. Funny I think he's better suited for every other musical era but I'm so glad he's hear right here and now. He's just so special and it's been so fun to follow his career. heeee
  6. We watched The Kingdom tonight and I thought it was a pretty tense movie with a likeable cast. I've always loved Jason Bateman...glad to see him still working. I loved him on Arrested Development.
  7. Thanks for the pictures. Yay for Quiana. Remember like a month ago when I asked for volunteers to help out with FCA, the main website and the media site? Well I had some volunteers and now I've gone back to my email to try to find you all And I'm pretty sure one person didn't email but just said they would help out in the thread--Liney? Anyway, if you're not named LdyJocelyn, Ansa, Lucky, Cindilu, FromClaygary, Merrieeee, or Cha Cha and you'd like to help please PM me again. Even if you just want to know more. We need help with everything from posting Clay new items, to listening and classifying audio clack, to just helping us brainstorm and come up with new ideas. And it's not time consuming..let's see I've worked on it exactly 0 hours this week so even if you have only 1, it would be helpful.
  8. ...and she didn't see the rejection and disloyalty coming. Very few of us do. So grow up, grow a spine and above all .... don't beg. *gag* Oh couchie...where's my issue list? Hee. bwah..I'm working on it!!
  9. I thought Ruben was great too..in fact he started out the competition very well. I thought his version was really spot on to Luther's version even if a bit slower and if IIRC I didn't like that LOL. I totally agree that Ruben's flaws weren't pointed out during the run of the competition but I think his compliments were deserved there. I think going first hurt Clay but that wasn't one of his more memorable performances. I'm glad Clay got to go see Quiana. Wonder why the run is so short. Yeah AIKim I loved her vocally but can't judge the acting. Jennifer was truly phenomenal in the role and really blew me and the audience in the theater with me. She made that movie..her and Eddie Murphey I thought.
  10. yay thanks for sharing that. I'm not sure she outdid Jennifer - and with her I was just as impressed with her acting - but damn that was good vocally. You go Quiana. I wanted to comment earlier that Clay may have recommended her but I'm sure she had to win the part. That girl has true talent.
  11. I just think it's pretty easy to sit in a chair no where near the action and say what Clay should have done. I'm a really good NBA coach too in my own mind but probably wouldn't last an hour in the job for real. I think the bigesst problem people would have is with Clay himself - he is not a yes man and probably has ignored advice from people way more qualified. Yeah people can take his words any way they want and that's fine. But I don't think most people analyze this kind of thing too much (or they analyze it and promptly forget it) --well other than the people who love him and those that don't. Somebody on TWoP mentioned chickengate..and I"m like WTF what the hell is chickengate and I realized that came from 2003. LOL...they know more about Clay than I do. It's quite funny actually. PIN ALERT. I'm placing the order on Monday. Looks like we have about 20 or so left to sale of each. PM me if you haven't ordered and can't order by Monday but you want me to hold for you.
  12. Please, please please have that be a typo and not a prediction! bwah lilyshine!! double bwah.. Regarding politics - Unfortunately I've become very cynical and apathetic over time and believe that while there is differences between the parties during election season, they all want one thing once they get in, to stay in power and will do anything towards that end. No one in this campaign has sparked me out of that mindset as of yet.
  13. I knew that CNN owned TMZ... and TMZ is like their go to experts for Larry King and even other news show which is rather sickening. I still watch CNN but not as much as I used to because of their pre occupation with Anna Nicole, Brittany and the rest. Unfortunately I think there are probably 7 companies out there that own everything media wise. In my local area I think Gannett bought up every local paper and now what used to be 6 or 7 local papers all now have the same content. I especially hate that the Oakland Tribune has been sucked up. I rarely click on my google alerts cuz all the good stuff is on the boards or I can read enough to know I don't want to see it. But I will click now and then and yep pick up a rag to scan in the grocery store line. In the light of day I still really love the whole thing and wonder what more they have. Due to the interest maybe we'll see it.
  14. LOL..already seeing google alerts with clay storming out of an interview. Controversy King lives. I hope everybody who talks about it actually links to the article. And popdirt of all blogs, had his quote from the airplane incident. I loved that one as well. If I recall correctly he had a little jab at the meda on that one as well.
  15. Did PETA run the ad? I don't think they did. I used to worry about Clay too ..made myself sick with worry over stuff. Remember when the teacher of the year said he starved the kids and then didn't pay them? Innocent times now but I was sooo worried. OMG, they're saying CLay was mean to the children...UNICEF will fire him. So yeah I understand that mindset. But there just came a time when I had to put things into perspective. And everybody's perspective is different. For me, my sanity? I had to learn to sympathize but I couldn't feel every arrow. And I also learned to trust Clay. He has good and experienced peopel around him to help him legally and close friends and supportive family to help him emotionally. And he's got Jerome to keep the nutbars away. And Clay's a pretty strong dude with his head on straight.
  16. BW, to me Clay was having fun until the questions started about the "Trashy" stuff. Clay may have thought..oh cool, Newsweek, I'll do that one and yet he's stuck answering questions that Star and Equirer would ask. It also makes me wonder how much press does Clay turn down, if any, since he seems really sick of talking about certain things. There's a whole level of media that deals with nothing but that sorta thing. As a person forced to watch PBS Kids, then Nickledian and now Disney - Hannah Montanna is someone I can actually watch without cringing. I think she's cute and spirted. The Ravens, and Naked Brothers et al you can keep.
  17. Sorry for posthoing but I feel so deprived hee Anyway..yep.. did the guy even bother to google to see what's up with Clay in the last few weeks? Doesn't seem so. The ink is still wet on the UNICEF stuff but who cares, he touched Kelly Ripa a year go. And I think this has rubbed off on society and the media is just going where the people seem to want to go. My mailman, who is an idol fan, said Clay needs to do something to get back in the public eye because to him it's either or. He's not successful if he can't see him I explained that Clay was just finishing up his 8th tour, will be on television on Christmas day, will be joining a broadway play in January and is in Mexico for Xmas in his role as Unicef Ambassador. Not good enough. Very weird. And I'm not going to buy into that mindset. It's ridiculous. I'm sure some more high profile people than Clay would prefer to actually you know, be doing something creative.
  18. I think fear is behind a lot of things...fear that Clay will disappear, still after all this time. So maybe people look at each thing as the last opportunity to impress somebody. But I'd rather have Clay as he is and not following some script written by people I have no interest in. Clay's unpredictable and fun to follow cuz you never know what he will say. I'm happy to see him grabbing control of that interview rather than kissing ass. Will the guy one day get back at him for it? Well he seemed impressed - still calling him witty. Probably enjoyed doing "battle." My boyfriend is up for that challenge. Thanks Thankful... We've all been in this fandom long enough to know everything Clay does and says will have a variety of opinion. I actually like that..makes things interesting.
  19. thread title? I can hear his voice in my head. Speaking of voices in my head...guess what I listened to today for the first time although it's been sitting in my ipod forever...the ugly ducking. FANTASTIC heee. I can cross that off the list.hee
  20. ooooh I love my boyfriend. He's HAWT Sean is the Spamalot drummer? Sean? Is that hsi name hee. Thanks for the update Claygasm! :F_05BL17blowkiss: Education: California schools must be among the worst in the country and now they are cutting funding even more. My neice and nephew go to private school and they really have a good foundation. My sister was hoping to move them to public school for junior high but that seems doubtful if they continue to cut the budget like this. Message boards: No one loves Clay more than me but the hightened emotional response to everything Clay is a little scarey to me now. It's just not where I am and I was at one time. Had my mom not been extremely sick at the time ATDW came out who knows how I would have reacted or gotten caught up in or believed. But with everything going on in my own life I needed my Clay life to be a relief from that. And it was and I find I much prefer it that way and so I think I'll stay. I've had one other online community/fan experience and it's pretty much the same. It lasted about 2 years and I've stayed in touch with about 4 people although we no longer have that in common. Really the only difference is how the seedier/seemier side of the internet is so prevalent. I'll never understand why the UGLY is around this great guy - from bloggers to even his own fans - all wanting a peice. Anyway, you tell him Clay. He brings up Ripa ..how long ago was that? And didn't Newsweek pull the teacher of the year story off the blogs and report it in their mag? Reputable? I dont' think so. It's Friday! Yay. And I"m going to do all these little things I keep forgetting about...oh like sending Liney her pin and kinda organizing the FCA volunteers. Oh you thought you were all safe?
  21. Wow is sure has gotten crowded in here. good luck everybody.
  22. Jenna, I'm shocked! heee Ya'll know that's practically smut hee. Nobody cares about a popular or unpopular opinion. Watch this. Still not used to that hair LOL. You stated yours respectfully and so did everyone else I think. It's just that the 2nd rush of refugees are here because the ATDW became a trigger word for evil Clive and RCA. We've discussed this plenty and no one here that I can remember has ever wrote I love Clive on a napkin and no one here would be devastated if Clay left RCA tomorrow. I just for one don't want him dropped because I'm sure everyone's opinion about it will be like mine about Taylor..uh huh sure it's mutual. And as AIKim said we probably agree more than disagree about the promo for ATDW but the whys and wherefores might diverge. But isn't that life in the fandom. bwah Thanks, I'll listen for it. Any particular version? this is the ATDW version... next I will move on to every concert version looking for more heee. Damn I want to talk about Clay's 2008 and exxtrapolate the hell out of what's coming, thanks Jenna for some topic ideas, but I have to go to the wasteland called work and when I get home ya'll will have moved on heee. At least I can laugh and not cry about it anymore. Happy Thursday. And tonight I will watch clack and get inundated with the blond hair. I think it will do the trick.
