  1. Whoa everyone was so shocked they left. I'm here! I'm here! heee You're no longer last. Don't you just hate when all conversation stops after you post. Any other newbies, lurkers, infrequent posters want to check in? You know you wanna. We don't bite..really we don't. ETA: waves to Thankful! OOh and she has 50 posts..kiss your dogs goodbye hee.
  2. No games Scarlett. I did quite a bit of nagging though.
  3. And just think, if you post at least once a month, you'll be at post #15 this time next year. I think you will be dog walker longer than anyone in the history of FCA heee. Rocknrollmom and merrieeee and everyone else going through loss... :F_05BL17blowkiss: Yay merchandise for Clay for Spamalot. I'll order mine in a couple weeks as well as start planning. Trying to wait to see if they'll come up with a gala date but I'm getting antsy and will start planning my trip to NYC by the end of the month. The gala would just be an extra special treat I would enjoy while in NYC but maybe it's not meant to be. My dad used to make hot water cornbread...anybody ever have that? Oh well time to go back to work. I wish I could win the lotto..... I'm not greedy..I don't need 20 million. One will do
  4. Honey, you think YOU'VE had a bad year? Don't let me get started. I figure, the last two years have been so bad that I'm bound to win the lottery this year as compensation. Join me in thinking positive!!! When things are really shitty, there's really only one way to go. Yep... I'm looking forward to 2008 and have a few goals that I will work hard towards. You can't prevent all bad things from happening but I just plan to work on the things I can fix that will make my life better. Well today is family day...off to Stockton to see relatives. Have a good day everybody.
  5. and there goes the fireworks Happy New Year from the west coast!! I'm so looking forward to 2008. I actually have a resolution and that's to be debt free like Play by the end of the year. That's probably more doable than this new gym thing LOL. May everyone's 2008 be full of love, suprises, and fun.
  6. ahhhh I see New Years has struck on the east coast. Happy New Year everyone. My sister and her family just left...we've been marathoning our favorite new show of this year, Cane, such a show of family togtherness and solidarity Everybody stay safe. I'm already hearing gun shots and new years is over an hour away. Why do people shoot guns.
  7. I chuckled at the first paragraph..so true. But you are so wise Play, in more ways than one!!
  8. They have links to recipes here. I just took the ham bone left over from Xmas ham...threw it in a pot with the peas and chopped onions and cooked for 1 1/2 hours. Wonder how long my brother in law will last tonight... After the Warriors kicked Houston's butt --sorry posse -- another important sport came on -- the Hooters pageant
  9. But is your niece happy Cotton...or is she as unhappy as the mother. Sometimes parents want for their kids what they don't want for themseves. I'm a perfectly happy single person but still get those looks of concern every now and then. Or maybe they finally stoppoed since its a lost cause God can you guys believe it's been 5 years already. And in this fickle business our guy is still going strong. I really love that he loves to tour and that he can do it in nice comfy places. I'm thrilled that he's doing something as prestigious as a broadway show. And I love that it's a comedy and something so different for him. I can't wait to hear this accent. We just saw him on national TV and he's still working with a major lable on an album. (I know how people feel about RCA but I would NEVER NEVER NEVER want him to be dropped from a label but could care less if he ever moved on by his own design). And last but not least..he's still making a difference in all kinds of ways. I look forward to 2008. It's kinda nice to know where he'll be the fist half of the year.
  10. bwah..but take heart Muski (and Jamar ) I have no idea how much you are editing. bwah...what? Jesse just committed the crime of the century!!
  11. Yay I'm so glad he's going to make it. I've been scrounging my couch for loose change..and I'm only half joking. I think it was also 100K last time as well. OK off to make black eye peas for good luck. Do we have a rolling eyes emoticon..but my mom will nag me until they are made. Any other New Years Traditions out there.
  12. You can go into MY CONTROLS and then EDIT MY PROFILE... and put ... or perhaps something funny instead. But FYI, nobody can see that information but you and the admins. We only require them because it helps ldyj weed out spambots during registration. Welcome!!
  13. Well I'm ringing in the new year thus far babysitting. And one of the kids is sick. How do I know? Because it's been two hours and I haven't once said, stop jumping on the furniture, stop that Tyler, put that colander back in the kitchen, and my favorite, leave your sister alone. Not only did he not want to fix his own eggs, but he didn't even eat the yummy breakfast I put in front of him. He asked for juice and yogurt. Call the paramedics. The biggest clue was his normal torturer, his sister, said, Poor Ty Ty. I'll probably ring in the new year asleep or right here. I've never been a partier and the prices of everything goes way up on New Years Eve. And I don't like countdown shows. heee how boring am I. For everyone going out, have a great time and be careful. Yay for the little red line goign up. I'm sure he'll go over the top. wandacleo, thanks for the joke. LdyJ I think I laughed the most with you dawning a mask before you gave Kareneh a hug. I'm also a Moulin Rouge lover. My sister and I started watching it one day and after ten minutes she made me turn it off. I think I agreed with her. But after she left I watched the whole thing and just loved it. Have never been able to convince her to watch it though. First season of Heroes was so good. I'm on the last disk and then I'll watch this season online. Then we're moving on to House. I've never seen any of those.
  14. Muski finally was able to read your storyette..... scratch that one off my to do list..such a chore it was Two more days off before real life takes over again. KAndre loved your post earlier today. I'm finding everyone's "stories" so interesting. Thanks for sharing. Keeping Faith... did you go get your stitches? And Kareneh! I can literally feel your pain. Poor baby. Go crawl into bed and take care of yourself.
  15. Of course it doesn't.... But Play you're not alone cuz I don't think I ever watched The Sound of Music. I do like musicals a lot though and old movies. ..or should I call them classics. I love Easter Parade. Raise your hand if you don't have a cousin or uncle bubba LOL. KF that is a book waiting to happen. Hey you're never more out of step than me when a new Harry Potter book or movie comes out...oh wait...KAndre's with me on that one right?
  16. 29??!!!! Are you serious? How the hell did that happen? I must be a baaaaaaaad fan. Please don't make me turn in my SuperSpecial ClayFan membership card. You're OK. You only have to turn in your card if you make him older than he really is. Yep, anything that keeps Clay AND me older younger is ok in my book.
  17. That's all kinds of cute. Where is it from. I need to watch some clack! RIFan.don't tempt me..I might add flap clipper.... that might be more important than stylist.
  18. ok two days with my membership restored and I've 1. found my old card 2. looked at the class schedule one of these days real soon I might even make it to the actual gym
  19. Exactly. While everyone is affected by their childhood in some way or the other - most of us aren't stuck there for the rest of our lives. We grow. We experience new things. We get over it. None of us would even be the same people if we were raised entirely different. Oh lord I can even laugh at some things now that I couldn't have back then. For instance when my brother was 16 he ran away from home. Well he didn't really run away becaue my mom and me drove him to the bus station and put him on a bus. We knew where he was and where he was going. My dad was the only one in the dark. That's some of the fire that makes you closer. Now I can see people saying. OMG how could she do that - make a 14 year old keep that secret.....whatever. It worked for us. But I'm a firm believer in the genes aspect because my dad never grew up with his dad at all. Yet they are the same person as my brother came to discover LOL. Families... you can't pick 'em. heee. ETA: I agree Play. And that's probably one of our few rules here..that the family/friends get the same respect as Clay. I think it's probably easier for him to see stuff written about himself rather than the people he loves.
  20. I always remember that we have Clay's side in LTS and it's not a complete recollection of his growing up. I grew up similarly to Clay and I have to say that thought that well meaning people might have ripped me away from my family for my own good is scary. The walking a mile in other's shoes is so apt here. I think we had mostly good days as a family. And then we'd have some not so good days here and there. My mom is the closest person in the world to me and yeah maybe that bond was partly born and honed and polished and strengthened in fire. It doesn't make it any less special than people who had no dysfunctions. I love the relationship I see between Clay and Faye and there is no denying how tight they are. And frankly I think many of the traits I see in Clay came directly from Faye. Of course I don't know either one and it's all just speculation. I trust that this Xmas, although different, was a very special one for the entire family. everyone has a designation based on number of posts...keep on posting and you will soon be able to guard Clay's body. As a newbie you get to walk Raleigh and Durham. heee. ETA: and when I say side it's not for the purpose of laying blame. Each person in the family just experiences things totally differently. For instance, my sister is the baby and I felt she got away with murder and didn't have to deal with any of the stuff my brother and I did growing up. She was the favorite etc. OK, to hear her tell it, she felt left out sometimes because she was five years younger than me and 7 years younger than my brother. And all this exploded one day as we sat around reminiscing about what sort of hostess bakery item was everybody's favorite. heee. I couldn't remember hers and she lit into me like there was no tomorrow. Shocked doesn't begin to describe it. heee.
  21. Love the pins Cindilu. Yep, despite the absense of purple I immediately thought of the broads when I saw the original A. I also prefer Aa. A couple of things to remember... due to the lateness in the day, there's no way a pin will be ready before opening night. So right now I figure.. maybe by 2nd or 3rd, figure out what we want. It looks like a race between some variation of A and C BUT we'll see where we stand in a few days and give people time to chime in. I don't mind doing two pins if we can meet the minimum order. We did fine with the CITH pins. They usually turn around a mock up of the pin in a few hours. If we approve we can take orders and I'll order around the 15th or so. It takes 10 days to get to me and then I can turn them around in a few days...so probably early February you'd have your pin.
  22. My dad is from Little Rock so have that Arkansas connection. But had to LOL at your first paragraph. In Living Color did a skit on this but just substitute hick for the "black" witneses that the news stations always seem to find. It was hysterical. I used to love the hell out of that show.
