  1. Scarlett - first, so glad you are doing well!!!!!!!!! Second - the oily chests and the costumes on everybody made me laugh too much, so I just couldn't watch. But John Derek was nice to watch. Is he still married to Bo Derek, or has he moved on to the next young blonde wife? Heeee....I guess he can be referred to as a recycled husband, so he is a Green Day participant :-) Going to drive me crazy trying to think of the name of that Easter show we watched - the boy gets bitten by a scorpion or a spider, and speaks with Jesus on the cross. The boy dies at the end and we all cried, every year.
  2. That is one killer banner!!!!!!!!!!! Thank you!!!!!!!! When I was a kid, we always used to watch a thoroughly depressing Easter movie that had a little Mexican (I think) boy who gets stung by a scorpion or something. Watching Charlton Heston act in any costume movie cracks me up too much to really get into the movie. We saw Fast and Furious yesterday. I still lurve Vin Diesel, but in one shot, his wee little just-out-of-the-box, awkwardly placed desert boots made me giggle, but then seeing Paul Walker and Sung Kang (yum!) put me back in the proper frame of appreciation for hot guys.
  3. I am thinking he just made it up without getting all thoughty about it! People usually just say la - like Creme de la creme, or whatever. Unless they are French or something like that.
  4. I cheerfully confess that if someone made Hollandaise Sauce ice cream I would buy it and put hot Hollandaise sauce on it. And sprinkle it liberally with cayenne pepper. I have never craved or gone out of my way to buy any sort of sweet whatsoever, never bought into that dessert-always-follows-dinner thing. And I dislike breaded and fried stuff. When I am living by myself the only carb I buy is fresh French bread, and I put olive oil and herbs on that and make lovely tomato sandwiches, every once in a while. BUT I have always felt that there are very few foods that are not greatly enhanced by the sauce, and I sometimes have looked at certain foods as Hollandaise Sauce Delivery Systems :-O Hollandaise - homemade with only butter, egg yolks, lemon juice, and cayenne pepper, really really easy! - is great for Atkins, no carbs. Last time I had my cholesterol checked, it was actually low, too! I think genetics does play a role in cholesterol problems. I love that engineering recipe site. All the pros and cons about whether to use hands or a plastic bag to coat the asparagus with olive oil (less mess, more waste, good for skin, there is a spray, etc.) - sort of like sitting in a meeting with other engineers and deciding how to program something. I may buy one of their RTFM tank tops.
  5. Okay, if you are deeply into eating healthy, step away from this post....... I just roasted baby asparagus (anointed with olive oil, salt, pepper, garlic). And made my own Hollandaise sauce to dip it in. Yumyumyumyumyumyum. Got the recipe from here - cooking for engineers - heeeee.... Wonderful!!!!!
  6. Clay looks adorable!!!!!!!!!! I know we are talking about TV shows we like, but....I would like to mention that free creditreport.com will charge your credit card 14.95 a MONTH for their service, that company is making huge amounts of money from this. And I really really wanted to like that Ruby person who is trying to lose weight on the Style network or somewhere like that. But I can't.
  7. Watching AbFab on Saturday afternoons used to be quite a ritual at my house. Also loved BBC's Chef, but that had only one season. :-( And Are You Being Served. Sopranos, Yep!!!! Boston Legal, too. And Bandstand, I grew up in South Philly and never missed it when it was broadcast from there. I would love to see all the wonderful Judy Garland, Frank Sinatra, and Dean Martin shows broadcast regularly - what amazing talent, week after week! Last night I spilled Sally Hansen Diamond Strength Instant Nail Hardener on my keyboard - just one little group of keys is stuck together, though, so it is just funny to see '[; when I just want an apostrophe. Reminds me of using an American keyboard with a Japanese operating system, all the punctuation is off by one key or so, so I never used contractions in my nightly status reports :-O - (Now there is something Australia has that I can't get here - Faberge Ceramic Glaze - they don't sell it here becoss it has formaldehyde in it. It works wonders on nails, though!) True, about having discussions - but I now skip over the angst, and quit reading altogether when discussion turns into certainty and he is pronounced stubborn or ill advised. That stuff has nothing to do with my own brand of fanship.
  8. Oh, I LURVE 2 1/2 Men!!!!! and Big Bang!!!!! And Sports Night!!!!! I like the BBC Office better. Three shows is not enuff - The Riches!!! Just watched that new show Kings - I quite like it, I have liked Ian McShane ever since he whisked Sue Ellen off to England. McShane was a hoot on The Daily Show the other night.
  9. Hmmmmm too many shows to pick from: Falcon Crest A Wire in the Blood (BBCA) Hotel Babylon (BBCA) I loved Moonlight (vampires) but oddly enough have no interest in the re-runs on SciFi channel, maybe because the story arcs are not going to go anywhere. Read somewhere that Clay's sister Amy was at Wicked, who knows?
  10. Oh, no offense taken!!!!! Just saying that Scott had fans! Bwah! That's how I still feel about Constantine! I guess that's why they have 10 or whatever finalists - something for everyone!!!!!!
  11. He was my favorite that year!!!!!!!! His "Against All Odds" is still one of the best I have heard.
  12. I really really like Anoop, now.
  13. Well, amongst you and I it's just you! Have you ever known a car place that didn't?? Re: that info. I just saw the original note and it says the exact colour and model of BMW that he was buying, so that's what was removed and likely a good idea. Heeeee.......50 per cent of us still thinks it is pretty funny!!! :-O I think perhaps a quite a few people might be thinking about, if not carrying, basketballs in Chapel Hill right now - 13th time to be named #1 seed - a record! and third year in a row, too. (March Madness has begun).
  14. Maybe it's just me, but saying BMW place and then not saying what kind of car for safety's sake seems kinda funny! Unless they sell other makes.
  15. All-time favorite - The Arnold's unhappy wife has just chucked a cake at him because she resents his time-consuming job - "You should not drink and bake." That is enduringly good advice!
  16. I don't consider using "site" instead of "cite" a typo, it always looks to me like someone is pretending to speak officially and trying to imitate official verbiage and it really just seems a bit clumsy. I just shrug and dismiss, though, no biggie. For me, the believing or not stuff is because of all the utter agenda-oozing crap that has been shovelled on to the boards over the years. Not in the least bit defensive about it, just matter-of-fact. Plus I hatessss the way speculation turns to fact and then people take that fact and run with it. Clay left RCA because they wanted him to do covers. OHNO!!!!! Evil RCA!!!!!!! Evil Clive!!!! Evil Jaymes!!!!!!!! Bad (some-frickin-how) Faye!!!!!!!! Clay is stubborn!!!!!!!!!!!! Clay has bad management!!!!!!!!! Clay should listen to meeeeeee!!!!!! Clay is going to do covers on his own label, becoss he likes 'em. OHNO!!!!!!!! That is not on the How To Be a Popstar List!!!!! Evil you-know-the-players!!!!!!!!!!! Then there are sweeping declarations of how some are just going to buy whatever , blah blah blah. All over some unconfirmed stuff. But really, no sensitivity involved, just refusal to get engaged. Heheheheheh.........I took my grandson to the movies this morning, and - I have beheld Dr. Manhattan's glowing blue penis!!!!!! At least 13 times, according to my grandson, who says he is now seriously disturbed. Bwahahaha! I am working on one of my reviews. I do want to mention that Billy Crudup and Patrick Wilson (or their stand-ins or generated whatevers, who cares!) have really nice asses.
  17. Sure! But burning it to a CD and selling it is quite frowned upon.
  18. I don't feel there is a big connection except for the parody that some make of Clay's accent, and the way some people believe Clay is clueless, but the way Kenneth acts like a dumb goober and then gets away with being really really snarky reminds me of Clay. I love that show. It is on at a weird time for me, because the only other Thursday show I watch is Dragon's Den on BBCA which is on at the same time. But Dragon's Den is in reruns, so I don't even have to switch back and forth now! Heee.....actually last night DD was replaced by a show wherein two nice older ladies toured brothels of the world. There are so many strong personalities on 30 Rock that it sometimes struggles to be an ensemble cast, and of course IMO Alec Baldwin is brilliant. I always love to see Rip Torn, too.
  19. Whenever someone uses "site" instead of "cite" I immediately discount the whole thing. Can't help it.
  20. crudup non hulu This is from the actual daily show website - if it doesn't work for you, I guess look in youtube????? It is a funny interview, Crudup does very good snark.
  21. Billy Crudup plays the doctor - he was on Jon Stewart the other night, and he was intelligent and funny (and good-looking!)......he refuses to say how much of the character's "endowment" is him, and how much is C.G.I. generated. I love Joaquin Pheonix, and Crudup reminds me of him a lot, only Crudup is 4000% more talkative. He is really witty, IMO. Crudup on Daily Show
  22. I am NOT cheating coss I don't read romantic books. Romantic songs - Since I Fell for You - Lenny Welch (a bit of a downer lyrics, but I love it) Blue Spanish Sky - Chris Izaak Spanish is a Loving Tongue - Ian and Sylvia Would You Like to Learn to Dance - Steve Goodman (Mary Travers does a great version, too) Gorgeous words. Lay Lady Lay - Bob Dylan Dance Me to the End of Love - Leonard Cohen - my favorite dance me video Dance me to your beauty with a burning violin Dance me through the panic 'til I'm gathered safely in Lift me like an olive branch and be my homeward dove Dance me to the end of love Dance me to the end of love Oh let me see your beauty when the witnesses are gone Let me feel you moving like they do in Babylon Show me slowly what I only know the limits of Dance me to the end of love Dance me to the end of love Dance me to the wedding now, dance me on and on Dance me very tenderly and dance me very long We're both of us beneath our love, we're both of us above Dance me to the end of love Dance me to the end of love Dance me to the children who are asking to be born Dance me through the curtains that our kisses have outworn Raise a tent of shelter now, though every thread is torn Dance me to the end of love Dance me to your beauty with a burning violin Dance me through the panic till I'm gathered safely in Touch me with your naked hand or touch me with your glove Dance me to the end of love Dance me to the end of love Dance me to the end of love (Looks around carefully) - sneaking in She by Marianne Faithfull.
  23. And I do believe that most of the molestation is a man molesting a boy.
  24. Fear, are they going to start going door-to-door, like a census? Anyway, I am all for churches believing anything they want, as long as they don't try and enforce their beliefs on others. Kinda ironic that this is more what our Founding Fathers had in mind, rather than the bullshit that gets blared about what this country stands for. Anyway, I am starting to think that perhaps we should do away with ALL of the hundreds of legal benefits and civil rights that come from marriage - I am sick and tired of people claiming that a civil union is the same thing, they are either stupid or deliberately venal - and let marriage just be a nice little ceremony bestowed by a church. Let's see how those people feel then. Howl like the hyenas they are, prolly.
