  1. I have a confession to make - I am totally in love with this kid......30 second commercial, no singing or dancing involved! kid with truck This cracks me up every single time!
  2. I just went to youtube and replayed that. Damn, he's good. I would like a CD and a concert, please.
  3. I am sick of reading Lam bert shit. Won't click on any link that might mention him. Had to cancel my Google alert for Clay. Maybe a vacation from Clay boards is in order. Used to not care about him one way or the other, like the rest of this year's AI crop, but am now pissed that he is keeping this thing going. And HE is saying the words, not publicists or media. Clay sure has long coattails.

Sigh. I guess I got what I asked for - no blowout. Congratulations!

yup. phase two. There are about 2700 or 2800 books, I think. I miss looking at all the Peabody stuff. I love how the "radiomates" keep pictures of old radio stations, and treasure old business cards and passes. Makes me nervous when all the sportscasters keep saying The Magic need to do this or that. I still remember how awful it was when the Rockets fans all brought brooms to the fourth (and final) game! Yikes - .6 of a second left, and tied.

13 hours and 10 minutes. Part was after midnight last night, before I went to sleep. I must say, I do not think I would enjoy having a beer with anyone who works or reviews or whatever at wall street journal. Their politics and views are opposite of mine. Close game so far - hoping no more blowouts.
  7. Heeeee........I saw that trailer a few times and figured it was remake of My Big Fat Greek Wedding. Neener-neener - we saw Land of the Lost - perfectly predictable Will Ferrell humor, my grandson loved it.

Staggers into basketball thread.......just put 13 hours on the clock today......I'm here!!!!! BUT - I think you are gonna enjoy these finals a LOT more than I am!!!!! Practices good sportsmanship (not learned at the LeBron James School of Whininess), mumbles : "It's not whether you win or lose, it's how you uh, oh hell, skip that one." "It is an honor just to be here!" "Really! " "No, really, dammit!!!" "Just look at the gas money we saved by not having to play 7 games!!!!!!!" "Want to buy some Amway stuff?" (owner joke) "We have better half-time shows, so there!!!" "If we make it this far again can we have a puppet too?????" Dang I missed Jimmy Kimmel's Clay joke.

The game is not over, but I can safely say that the Lakers will not be swept........

Jimmy Kimmel is on right now, he mentioned LeBron's reasoning too, I had not heard that. Jimmy says as long as LeBron never touches hands with any of the Magic, he has not officially lost. I saw him walk off, I had not heard the real explanation, just read sportswriter twaddle. They are still kissing LeBron's butt. Kimmel did a funny tribute to Cleveland.

Well, Couchie, good luck to both teams tonight - Lakers are favored in 6. I will be watching the new Burn Notice and just peeking at the score from time to time. I just don't want to get swept. And I want to see stars on the sidelines. I'm setting the bar real low. In other news, I read that LeBron walked off the Magic court without shaking hands or anything because he was sending a message to the Cavs - he wanted to win, and the Cavs didn't get him any help - it had nothing to do with being a poor sport. Um-hum. Uh-huh.
  12. Claylove - the attempted trashing of Clay's foundation was started years ago by some very dedicated haters. This is just the latest volley. We are still standing :-O I have the feeling that the suppurating hopper may have been given some help here.
  13. No, he is not gay - just British. There is a show I like called Peter Perfect, a guy named Peter Ishkhans, who has his own upscale hair salon, goes to struggling small businesses and redesigns everything. Shop, employees' hair and clothing, everything. He does a good job, but he is dreadful at picking out clothes, IMO. Once, one of the employees at the business of the week asked him if he was gay, and he said no, I'm British! Beautiful banner - it reminds me of wonderful old faded exotic travel posters or something.

I was not relaxing until there were only 10 seconds left. Reggie Miller or the Heat could score 16 points against the Magic in the last few seconds, using fouls and voodoo charms or something. Heeeee on the LeBron puppet - I think the hype worked against him, it just pissed the Magic off and gave them a focus. Yes, LeBron was great in that game, but no one can win all by themselves. Man, Rich DeVos (owns Amway, owns the Magic) got old. And yay! for Van Gundy! I was afraid the team was gonna do that down by 20 points at halftime thing again, and somehow he fixed that. Van Gundy looked like a happy little kid. With a mustache. Also gotta say that Phil Jackson looks old, too, I did not recognise him. Well, I'm happy! If I am doing better next season, and have a better vehicle, maybe I can take Jacob to a game or two on the weekend. Driving back from Orlando at night is a bummer. Thanks for rooting for my guys, and let the games begin! Next week!

I can't bear to watch the game, so I am working and just checking the SI.com live feed once in a while. The comments are hilarious. Turned on the TV - the Cavs are losing by 12 to 18 points, third quarter, and the announcers are acting as if they are on the verge of winning. Favorite SI.com comment - "In order for Cavs to win Magic need to Cooperate and stop scoring". It is felt that the Lakers will demolish either team.
  16. Thanks a million for those pictures, they are wonderful!!!!
  17. memememe!!!!!!! And Depp is my grandson's favorite actor, he is looking forward to the movie even more than I am. Robert Downey Jr's Sherlock Holmes looks really good too - I hope it is as good as Restoration - I adore that movie! Since we have started our $5 morning movie experience again, we don't even try to be anything but impulsive and eclectic - next week we are quite looking forward to Land of the Lost - unless something looks better.
  18. We saw The Battle of the Smithsonian today; it was a nicely mindless funny movie. Theater was packed at the 9:45 am show, which meant that I had to turn around and glare at a little tyke who was kicking the back of my seat. Hank Azaria was hilarious, he does insane pomposity so very very well. And I like Ben Stiller, although he will never be as funny to me as when he made fun of Puff Daddy's various names - to Puff Daddy - when he and Combs were presenting an MTV award. Stiller gets this perfectly serious look on his face that is such a great contrast to the humour or sarcasm. Ricky Gervais did not do well. I have loved him in the original Office for years, I know all about his throw-away straight-faced shtick, but it didn't work for some reason. Amelia Earhart Girl was annoying. Napoleon and Ivan the Terrible were pretty funny. Christopher Guest is Ivan the Terrible; I had just watched the entire A Mighty Wind last week, and Guest really is funny in any movie I have seen him in. I would love to see him parody his wife's Activia commercials. Or show up in them. The original Night at the Museum was on TV last night. I remember it correctly, it was funnier. Perhaps there were just too many characters in this new one. The movie made me want to take my grandson to the Smithsonian. And the animated artwork was great - Jeff Koons' balloon dog bouncing around, stuff like that. Previews were all G-rated cartoony or tween things and we do not wish to see any of them. Bah humbug.
  19. I was watching The F Word yesterday, and one of Gordon's guests cooked up okonomiyaki - savory Japanese pancakes - right at the table. Gordon was appalled. Heeeee. Yum. I had them over there a couple of times, once at a restaurant where they give you bowls of all the ingredients and you sit at a table with a griddle in the middle, you cook your own. And once at someone's house. There is no entirely healthy way to make a traditional one - pancake batter, shredded cabbage and/or other veggies, an egg. Plonk a big spoonful on the griddle, on top of a couple of strips of bacon sometimes, letting the bacon cook into the pancake. Brown both sides, plate it, and........drizzle with what tastes like thick sweet worcestershire sauce and then drizzle with mayonnaise. Mayonnaise is served like ketchup in a squeezey bottle, it is also put on pizza. Great comfort food. Sort of kitchen-y tip, dunno if I have mentioned this over here - I have those wire shelves in my pantry, and I always sorta hated them. A couple of years ago I went to Lowe's and had a guy cut plexiglass to my shelf measurements. They do the cutting for free, just like they cut glass and wood for free. Awesome!!!!! And I can properly Windex them!
  20. Yes, Larry King reminds me of a lizard, can't watch him. Flipping through channels the other night, King was on The Daily Show, and Jon Stewart held up a picture of King kissing a baby, and asked him if he was sucking the life out of it. Love the owls, love Japanese TV, thanks!!!!!!!!
  21. Maybe Couchie is just a visionary or has some inside info - Jefferson Airplane -> Jefferson Starship -> Starship
  22. Which has already been suggested on another board... Dang, I thought I was first with an esoteric reference! Tbftttttt!!!!! That was me - and for a while I was afraid no one knew what I was talking about! How the heck can we have a "fan war"? I only liked Anoop, and Allison, and had been expecting to not think about any of the other idolisteroonies ever again. Can I "not" buy Adam's CD more than once? I wasn't going to buy his CD even if he had kept his yap zipped. Oh, and note to treenuts, regarding my posts here, there, and everywhere - you don't need to wonder if I am being sarcastic snarky. I almost always am. (I am not copying, my new drink is clementine vodka and pineapple juice. You guys are drinking Margaritas or something else too complicated. So there.) Waving to clayzedover........great to hear from you!!!!!
  23. Except I don't see Adam as anything but a piffle next to Clay, and don't want to give him any more notice if at all possible, on a Clay fan board. His latest charge that Clay is riding on his coattails sealed the deal for me, as far as Adam is concerned. I don't wish him harm, but do wish him out of my world. Adam is not worth getting out a tape measure for, really. Feh.

Congrats to the Lakers!!!!!! Cruising through the net, looks like a lot of people are upset about the Kobe/James stuff, and questioning the calls. An Orlando columnist says LeBron tripped over a shoelace while leaving the Orlando arena, and Dwight Howard got the foul and LeBron gets to shoot the free throws at the beginning of the next game. :-O Feeling seems to be that Kobe is great and has good teammates, while poor LeBron is surrounded by dreck and so the refs are evening that up with bad calls at Stern's request. I think Clive is behind the whole thing because he signed LeBron and Kobe to do a covers album.
