I'm loving all the videos today! And I gotta say...him talking about Parker just warms the cockles of my heart. He really does have so much to be thankful for this year. And I'm thankful for Clay being in my life... OT HELP!!!! Is there anyone out there who can take a Word document (either Word 2003 or 2007) and save it into a jpg file? PWEEZE?!?!?!?

CG, thanks for your report on your latest trip, and I'm glad you had fun. *tackles keepingfaith* Well, my job continues to keep on sucking. The hiring committee (of which I am part) decided on a new person today, as our final hire. By the first of the year, we will be at full staff! OTOH, the decision was terribly hard, but in the end, we went with the "unknown quantity" rather than "someone who has worked for us before, did a great job...except for that one incident." Oh, and the person who wasn't hired is good friends with another person on the hiring committee (also one of my co-workers). It's just crazy. And I want to bury myself in the covers and hide for the next two days. Man, I need a Clay fix. Just over 30 days until I get to see him live!

annabear, I'm glad you've moved into your new place, and that Clay accompanied you. That's a good feeling, isn't it? wandacleo, so very thankful that Gracie has returned! I'm sure she'll never leave again... Glad you checked back in with us! Am I the only one who remembers the original "find" of that imdb clip? Well, other than jmh, heh. I simply adore that clip -- he's so funny in it, and he looked very handsome to boot! Hope you feel better Gibby! And glad your clack is saved luckiest1!!!!!

I actually happened to watch Survivor the other night (as I don't normally do), and Randy is the last person to have been voted out. Supposedly he and Charlie (another Survivor cast member, I believe voted out the previous week) went to see Clay in Spamalot last night. I love reading about Clay's schtick for Broadway Cares. He's so funny and charming and disarming all at the same time. I truly wish someone would give him his own TV show....

Well, I had my calendar made before I knew about this other one. I was using wallpapers made by Betty897X based on each song on OMWH. It works out to 12 months even (not counting the bonus tracks). But I usually make one calendar for work and another for home, so I could buy one of the BAF benefit calendars for one or the other!

Wait a minute...back up the truck a second...it's Cotton's birthday?!?!?! How did we not know this? Happy birthday, you wild woman! (And I hope you are feeling better from your snus infection...) I make my own calendars generally (via snapfish) but I may have to purchase a second one...LOL.

WOOHOO!!!!! That's very cool...can't wait to see Clay on my TV!!!!

Heh...I've always heard it as "shadows of shattered dreams." And I personally think my interpretation makes more sense...that the shadows are following him... And just as I've always heard "well, well." But then, I've been known to talk out of my butt more than a few times... Man, would I love to be in NYC next week for that ebay chat. I hope someone goes who has a photographic/audio memory!

Total random observation for the day... WARNING: POSSIBLE SPECULATION MAY FOLLOW!!! I was rereading some old posts from here (as I tend to do when I'm bored and putting off work *g*), and found this link to the original lyrics of TRM (written by Natalie Grant). This was the song that I believe Clay said he asked to have some lyrics rewritten. Sure enough, the bridge (between the second and last chorus) is way different. Natalie's original version: Clay's version: I wonder why Clay felt the first lyrics didn't fit him, and the second set did. I also wonder if Clay had a hand in the new lyrics. I find Clay's version a bit more haunting, and a bit more sad. I know, Clay said not to put the meaning of the lyrics on "him," but I can't help it. Sometimes I wonder.... Back to oggling my new avatar.

calurker, the ET thing was supposed to be earlier (I think November 6), but was canceled for some reason. This Thursday is supposed to be the true date, we'll just have to see. Anyone got any good ideas for my "sign" to give Scarlett for Friday? I like her idea about it being something from the person who asked him a question that he answered, but I can't come up with anything creative. Also...Scarlett, does it have to be a jpg? Done! January in NYC?? Shoot, I wish. I'll be in NYC December 27-30, with hubby, so I'm going to miss the main FCA party for the last weekend of Clay's appearances. Someday, though...we'll be together.... Oh man, I LOVE me some "You're a Good Man, Charlie Brown!" My high school did that production, and I fell in love with that show. I can totally see Tom as Snoopy. Hubby and I are trying to decide what other shows to see when we are in NYC -- we only have one night's tickets for Spam, and I'm not sure if I can convince him that a second showing is in order. LOL. My office mate strongly suggests I take in the Rockettes, and their last show is the Sunday we are there. I was also thinking of Avenue Q, though -- love me some raunchy puppets.

I just received my latest BAF Newsletter in my email, and it had this link in it: A Day to Remember: Champions of Change 2008 The mention of "used clothes salesman" cracked me up!

I had totally forgotten that Wanda Sykes was on Clay's first Tonight Show appearance! I loved Clay being "afraid" of Wanda's reaction to his turning his feet around...and then her true reaction was priceless! That was so much fun! Good for Wanda -- more power to her. CG, I hear ya on the "covers" thing. There have been more than a few instances (not just Clay related) where I didn't like the original song, but liked it when someone "reimagined" the song. And if I did like the original, many times a new version will make me even more impressed. For me, BW and HYCA were the two on ATDW that did that for me -- the arrangements knocked my socks off, and having Clay sing them were amazing. I'll have to look for the James Taylor album, and that Seal album as well. That picture?
