  1. Sorry to "drop and run" but ETOnline has picked up the QVC blurb for the album.
  2. The latest via the RCA Marketing Guy, from the CH: I'm very intrigued by the Craig Ferguson appearance. And I think I read somewhere lately that CF recently beat Conan's ratings. Heh.
  3. Clay said: That number is amazing...and a good one for him.
  4. prnewswire.com Multi-Platinum Artist Clay Aiken to Make QVC® Debut
  5. EEEEEE! Adding a new post: prnewswire.com Multi-Platinum Artist Clay Aiken to Make QVC® Debut
  6. Hey Canadians! Good job! From lindylo at the CH: I've also heard that Clay is now number 5 on the American side of iTunes (not sure which chart though, and I don't have iTunes on my work computer for some silly reason).
  7. Just a reminder...today is the last day for the Broadway Cares Spamalot auction on ebay. Link is here. This should be fun to watch during the day. Even without all the frenzy of last minute bidding, they've raised almost $22,000. Not to mention the photos, on-stage auctions, collection buckets, and signed items for sale. They are certainly going to raise a pretty penny, and that makes me glad for the power of the pocketbooks of part of the Clay Nation. OTOH...this latest article on the Carmen story just makes me shake my head. I know it's done in the spirit of "protecting" Clay, but sheesh. The man is almost 30 years old. He may have had a lot of possible questionable things happen in his life. BUT -- we all do. He does NOT need my protection. And yes, I know it hurts to read things that seem to "attack" someone I care about a lot. But golly gee, I think a certain singer has managed to find a lyric to help me with that... And I think that sums it up quite well for me.
  8. More recaps from last night... from stripedshirts (CV) from Austenfan at the CB via CV: part 2 From RockysMom at the CH: Awww. Love that very last paragraph.
  9. cha cha, I'm trying to find a good source for this, but I always thought the second verse was the story of David and Bathsheba from the Bible. David saw Bathsheba bathing, and fell into "lust" with her. But most of the online Bibles I'm finding don't mention the haircut, and I don't think that's part of the story.
  10. laljeterfan, first of all, I'm sure you're not alone with your feelings. There are several on this board who would much rather have WAMLAW. For me, personally -- well, I've said before that I'm not a lyric person, so my fascination with the song Hallelujah is not from the lyrics (although I do like the first verse, talking about the actual construction of the song, "the fourth, the fifth, the minor chord, the major lift"). IMO, though, the melody of the song is simply beautiful. I also think it is very much a SINGER'S song -- in many ways deceptively simple, and yet incredibly hard to sing. JMO. BTW, I don't think us Hallelujah lovers have much hope *sob*. Karma4Clay at the CH wrote: Congrats CG and happy birthday lurkerfriend!
  11. realitytvmagazine.com Sleepy But Smooth: A Review Clay Aiken's New CD, On My Way Here...
  12. muski, just speaking for myself, I'll be including all the reviews in the Fast Forward News section. Plus, they will be part of the "Clay Articles" section of FCA proper. ...which means I'd better take that one over there PDQ!
  13. Isn't that the outfit he wore at the Golfing For Inclusion Dinner? *that's it, I officially have no life* cha cha, I think we ought to use that banner for Monday only! Hee. Wheeeee! I'm on top!
  14. AHA! KAndre can cry via a recording from Clay. I knew it! ___ jmh, what happens when you try to text that registration activation # on your cell phone? I was surprised mine actually worked!
  15. I love that man. You know why? Because it still cracks me up, to this day, to hear him say "Hi! I'm Clay Aiken!" Such a cutie. I would truly love to get some green-eyed soul from Clay, via WAMLAW. However, I really NEEEEEEEEEEED for him to sing Hallelujah. NEEEEEEEEEEEEED!
  16. Depends on the definition of "subtle." Clay's frying pan of talent might work.
  17. Crap! I'm on a conference call, and can't read my boyfriend's text.
  18. I think this album will be successful if KAndre cries after first listen. :F_05BL17blowkiss:
  19. {{{{CG}}}} I hope iTunes will allow everyone to download sometime EARLY on May 6. Consider this your "Save the Date" -- preplanning for an OMWH listening party are set for Friday May 9 and Saturday May 10. For those who are fairly new around here, we create a thread in our "Clay Parties" section. Then, we all start with the first song on the album, and play it over and over for approximately 15 minutes, making comments in the thread as we all "jointly" listen. After 15 minutes, we start with the second song on the album. And so on, and so on, and scooby dooby dooby. It takes 2 nights to do this, and it's really a lot of fun, what with all kinds of varying opinions, and lots of "gahing." Anyway, set aside May 9 and May 10 if you can join us. More details to follow....
  20. My take on "emotionally threadbare" was a bit tainted by reading about it here first -- with the "???" Which, of course, made me curious as hell, so I could make up my own mind. The phrase may be a bit odd, but I think the overall gist of the write up is really cool, and so I'm accepting of it. Besides, to me, there was a lot of really good things in that write up besides that one phrase, so I can overlook that one thing. I agree that the Kimmel possible non-performance seems weird. I wonder if a lot of it has to do with getting a band together. Is it certain that he's going to be performing on Leno? Is it certain that he won't be performing with just a backing track on QVC? There's still lots of unanswered questions regarding his performance....and I'm willing to wait patiently. Pre-order is finished! I just waited for everyone on the boards to figure it out first, and then swooped in to stake my claim. Heh. Just curious -- how many working people have asked for May 6 off? I have.
  21. people.com Cheek to Cheek It's also featured for now on people.com's home page, with the title "Clay Aiken gets Cheeky." BWAH!
  22. WOOHOO!!!!! Can't wait to get your ENTIRE recap. No pressure, though. *g*
  23. Very cool aikim -- much of the hard word is now done. liney, I'd love to take credit for that question, but that was the beautiful laughn who suggested that. From TV Guide this week:
  24. From the RCA Marketing guy, via the CH: The WalMart thing, to me, sounds as if it will be a hard copy CD. Thinking about that "price difference" that CG asked about -- my guess is that they know that most of the die-hard fans will want the extra track, and so aren't lowering the price on that one. But the regular CD? That $9.98 is definitely a sale price. As for this whole money question -- well, I find that I'm pretty much a "throw money at Clay Aiken" and "throw money at things he asks me too" kind of person. Sadly. My husband will ask me to throw money his way, and I blow him off. Clay asks me to throw money, and I'm like "how much dude?" I will say that I haven't done anything for the Broadway Cares thing yet -- but I'm also hoping to be getting an autographed playbill any time now. *g* ETA: austin360.com Chattin' with Clay Aiken This is the second "interview" in 24 hours that has asked for fan questions (I think gather.com is also asking for questions). While I'm not crazy about that idea, I'm beginning to think I understand a reason WHY someone might ask for fan questions rather than come up with their own. It takes the responsibility off the reporters -- because you just know that if they ask a really stupid question, some of the fans will be ALL over them. (Of course, if a FAN asks a question that isn't well liked by the rest of the fandom...well, that's another story for another time). I also remember back to my days of reading the teeny magazines, such as 16 and Tiger Beat. They featured questions from fans all.the.time. In a way, the more things change, the more things stay the same.
