  1. Thanks for the info bottlecap. I couldn't remember what I'd heard any more (and my source for it *g*). Yes, union rules for symphonies may be in effect then. Hee. I was thinking that maybe the symphony will get a smoke break while Clay sings a doo-wop song (uptempo of course) that would be all about his contract with RCA -- "Working on the Chain Gang." :medium-smiley-070:
  2. Yes, I'd move things around, at least. I still believe that RHW will be the opening song (see: David Foster gala). And while I really like the idea of BYLM as the encore, I can actually see that being the "final" song (before the encore). BTW, I'd add that song....as well as EIH (because I really want to hear him sing this live) and WISYS (that song has really grown on me, with repeated listenings). I'm also thinking that IWKWLI would be the song that he'd feature Angela on. As for what I think the encore will be....if I go with past history of Clay Aiken, I honestly think WY will be that song. He tends to like ending shows with some, for lack of a better term, bombast. Solitaire and AIW fit into that mold, IMO. OK, so Good News doesn't. *shrug* Almost forgot -- yeah, there will be an upbeat song or two there. That may be where he throws in the CCM stuff. I just don't any songs in that genre at the moment. Maybe I should check the top 20 CCM songs and take a listen to see if anything would work. Those are good questions, but I'm kinda like luckiest1 in that I have no imagination for that sort of thing. I'm very willing to have Clay surprise me with this. Ok would Clay sing that and how would he re-write that first verse..heee. Well, shoot -- that first verse combines Touch with Here You Come Again ("looking better than a body has a right to"). I'd say he'd leave it just as it was -- and we'd all die. But yeah, I'd love to hear him do this song -- I think he'd be outstanding. Well, I guess it would be nice If I could shake your hand You know not everybody Can shake it like I can... ? No? Back to the drawing board. BWAH! BWAH again! Hee, stump the orchestra? This is "funny day" at the CH. I think this idea is hysterical! Can I marry you for this paragraph? IMO, Clay's ALWAYS given good ISY -- that Dayton performance is still burned into my brain. That would be great, but based on how the Christmas Tour went, there may be time constraints and union rules on how long the orchestra members can perform. I wonder, though, if the show will be in halves - the orchestra being featured in one section and Clay's band in the other. That would allow them to have more flexibility in how the songs get presented. Has one of the announcements said that the orchestra was a local one or not? Because if he has his own "touring" orchestra, the union thing might be moot. As far as the halves go, it might work, but I think the orchestra will be around for the entire show. JMO. THAT'S WHO THAT WAS? I had that survey too. Blech. It really was pretty bad. He needs to stick to "Soldier of Love," or rapping with Weird Al. *g* Yeah but if he did sing it to me he would be saying he survived the crazy ass fans..and a few other crazy ass people that have nothing to do with record lables. Hee. I had that thought too.
  3. 1. Here You Come Again 2. Right Here Waiting 3. Lonely No More 4. Because You Loved Me 5. Everything I Do (I Do It For You) 6. Why Don't We Do It In the Road? 7. Everytime you go away 8. Run to me 9. Broken Wings 10. A Thousand Days 11. Alone And I think it's time to slow it down again... 12. I Will Carry You (the Oprah arrangement, with added strings) Actually, thinking about this....I'm getting excited about the possibility of hearing a few of the MOAM songs with the orchestra behind him. IWCY (if he does as I've asked in this post, which of course he'll do, because he reads this board and likes me a LOT) will slay me. I think hearing ISY with a powerful orchestra behind it could be phenomenal. And MOAM itself, a song I've never been that fond of, could turn into an incredibly moving experience. BTW, this set list is not turning out the way I imagined it at all. But it's fun to speculate, anyway. *g*
  4. 1. Here You Come Again 2. Right Here Waiting (Get it? Here you come again and here I am, right here waiting...heh...) And then, of course, we're... 3. Lonely No More couchie hope you feel better soon, and Ansa -- don't get sick! I like muski's word of "pragmatic," I think that's how I feel more about this than anything else. But I think my feelings for this extend beyond the concerts. I remember very distinctly waking up on the morning of the "Ed" TV appearance, thinking that some fans would be massively upset after that show. I was a major fan of the show (still am, waiting patiently for the DVD's), and knew full well that we'd probably not see Clay sing all that much. Well, I was right -- people were screaming bloody murder that he didn't sing the full song. Now, that's not that I didn't want to hear the entire song, because I did. But the screaming overlooked the fact that it was a very cute appearance, he seemed to have a fun time, etc.
  5. I will keep hoping that Clay comes to see you in Georgia some time soon. However, I've just gotta say that I've put up with a LOT of crap when I've gone to see Clay in concert -- traffic jams, airline delays, large amounts of people. Was it worth it to me? Hell yeah. I'd do practically anything (short of risking my life on snow and ice covered roads *g*) to see Clay live. *shudder* I've known more than a few in my work life as well. The unfortunate thing seems to be that these people, for some reason, end up in service positions where they are supposed to be nice to the public. What I've experienced in the fandom is about the same thing. My new motto: Claytime is Pure Joy. I loved this entire paragraph, but especially that phrase. ITA (and it seems that I'm not the only one who feels that way -- flove this place. *g*) Theory number 1, "insecurity": I was pretty much sold on that one when the Yahoo sessions interview came out, and he was reluctant to say what song on the album he cowrote (meaning LNM). The way he was flustered, and it seemed to me more than a bit scared to admit about which song he wrote, told me quite a bit about the way he feels about his song writing ability. Theory number 2, "too personal": as much as I don't want it to be that personal of a song for him, I think this theory makes some sense too. It's incredibly vulnerable, heart wrenchingly so, and he may just not be ready to show that yet through his songwriting. Claygasm -- I'm totally evil too, because I've imagined that same scenario with Clive and LAA as well. I guess I just like the idea of heads exploding. Congrats muski on the new title. So, does this mean that when we have the FCA get-together, you can use your new title as some leverage to get us a good rate on hotel/food/spirits? *g* I've learned to do this with practically everything Clay Aiken related. It always sounds kind of sad to say "I keep expectations low," but there have been just too many times when high expectations brought disappointment in this fandom. I'd rather have my happiness at the end, thank you very much.
  6. Claygasm, I know what you mean...but then I think about the first time I saw those pictures of Daniel Radcliffe (aka Harry Potter) in that play in England, and I don't feel NEARLY as bad about lusting over Clay. *g* I think a caption for the picture of Clay with SCC's kids could be "the many hairstyles of Clay Aiken, all in one picture."
  7. {{{{{{{{{{{Mr. Muski}}}}}}}}}}}}} {{{{{{{{{{{{the entire Muski clan}}}}}}}}}}}}} You'll be in my thoughts.... Diva -- I like what your psychic had to say. He really does give off a glow, doesn't he? And I'm with the psychic on Clay being an ENTERTAINER. IMO, he's an old soul -- he likes being a person who can touch people of all ages with his music. (Note: this does NOT mean he'll NEVER rock out ever again. IMO, it just means that he'll balance out the rock star with the balladeer and the comedian and the hot sexy guy.) I love my balanced guy. Question: can we do the 6 degrees thing and have it also count for FCA-MAD? I've heard the answer is no.
  8. I think that's what bugs me more than anything else -- the poddies have their world defined in black and white. There are NO shades of gray. And anyone who doesn't see things "their way" are kicked to the curb. I'm trying to figure out which song on ATDW he will NOT sing (because there's usually one per album). And you know what? I want to hear him sing every song off the album, even the ones I don't care for all that much. "Feelings". With a 42-piece orchestra. And lots of strings. BWAH! I think I'll post that over at the OFC. Anyone want to lend me some kevlar armor? Shoot...I guess that DOOL appearance, when HE SANG A FREAKIN' SONG FROM THE ALBUM, doesn't count as promotion. Ah, but that was filmed in November too, so it doesn't count for December publicity. Also, there's that pesky Mike & Juliet show, where obviously he was forced to NOT talk about the album, but instead made to play a game with a fan, and make crafty type things. (Clive wants him to sell glue sticks, that's gotta be it!) Meanwhile, muski just killed me with those pictures. Hot damn, that man is fine. YAY Jenna! Glad to see you around! I think you list is spot on...unfortunately. And as CG said, it's already started.
  9. OOOOH! So he WILL whip it out after all? :medium-smiley-070: *sets up a shrine to the "whipping it out" gods*
  10. For me....it's waking up at 4:00 a.m., thinking of all the things that need to be done at work, and not being able to get back to sleep after that point. Yes, I'm whining. One of the things that hit me last night is that the ticket sales for the two shows announced so far are April 2. Gulp....possible bad day for me, as I'm running a conference the next day. I may have to rely on the "kindness of strangers" to get tickets. (Well, you guys aren't strangers, per se....but you know what I mean).... I'm just looking forward to the shows, I cannot wait to see Clay be all cute and funny and stuff.
  11. txflwrgrl, I'm working on this, but sure can't see anything either....but it seems like I've seen this before. I'll keep working on it....
  12. Well, Kentucky sure didn't play as well this time. That's OK. I still liked them....ah well. I'm bummed Mirna/Schmirna are still in the race though. Love Teri at the moment -- "falling in made it exciting." Can't believe the Beauty Queen's made it through so quickly, even with their mistake. I think they should have gotten a time penalty for what they did. Next week: everyone will be talking! Huh. That should be interesting.
  13. Go Teri and Ian! Stand up to the Mirna/Schmirna combo! And Team Guido was showing their old traits. Heh. I can imagine that Joyce felt terrible for not being able to help the other two teams. It's good to try to help people this early in the race, IMO. Besides, I think Joyce is just a NICE person. Am I the only one here? Wah!! Oh no, Team Cha Cha doesn't look too good at the moment. I just hope Mirna/Schmirna fall apart. Good job Uchenna! GREAT job Dave! Eric? Just shut up OK? My husband says "don't talk about your girlfriend's body like that. It's just wrong."
  14. I always forget something.... couchie, hope you're feeling better. And diva, hope your husband makes it home safe and sound. "Birds of Iraq," eh? What song will Clay open with? I think he'll start with RHW (YAY for luckiest1 and atinal, sorry to muski and CG). I think the final show of the actual show will be ATD. Two options for the finale: if he wants to do a quiet, contemplative ending, I think that's when he'll pull out LAA. If he wants to do the big ending (a la Solitaire during the NAT), I think WY will be the final song. Just my speculations. I like speculations too...but I also don't tie all my horses to them either. Hair? He'll have some. Pants? He'll wear some. (DAMN....) *g* ITA...I've always said that the Christmas tours recharge his batteries, spirituality-wise. Everyone make note of the time, playbiller just smutted.
  15. Since it is Sunday and such, I'll add my "Amen!!" to Ansa's post as well. Cue the Gospel Choir!!!! :28: :28: :28: :28: :28: I've wondered her question as well....if this tour turns out to be heavily ATDW based, then what? How will some reconcile that fact? I also simply hate the notion that if I believe that the tour will be ATDW, that I'm simply delusional. OK....let's just suppose that it will be a rockin' tour, with very little from ATDW in the show. My reaction? Cool. Can't wait. I'll be there with bells and whistles on. (Or maybe that should be deelyboppers....) If the tour IS ATDW heavy, my reaction will be... Cool. Can't wait. I'll be there with bells and whistles on. I just want to hear the man sing, and see him be the charming man that he is. I've been thinking that the Christmas tour this past year was a "trial run" for the upcoming tour. It gave Clay a real feel for working with different orchestras, what the logistics would be like, etc. He also worked up his "comedy routine" during the tour as well. I guess I just see this tour as an extension of the Christmas tour, except the music will be different (and in most cases, stuff we've never heard live before, probably). Clay will still be charming, witty, and cute as a bug in a rug. Just because he's not doing Christmas music though, that seems to change everything. Finally, my last ponderance. There are some saying "I don't like this album, I think I'll skip this tour." That's all well and good. But...when the clack comes in, will they be able to stay away? Clack's sold tickets in the past, I think it will again. JMO, YMMV, yadda, yadda, yadda....
  16. From toni7babe at the CH: I personally think that one is funny! Well, shoot...I've got one piece of the merchandise already! Haven't you seen this yet? It's for the tour this year! And Clay tested it personally! *waves at cindilu2, photoshopper master*
  17. So, is everybody in recovery mode from the party last night? Oh, you are funny. Heh heh heh. I think it's funny tooo...although I suppose he could be doing a "Christmas in July" tour. *g* Don't hit me... With Clay Aiken, there's ALWAYS fun times! Damn it, I want more news. Now. Maybe Clay will call me with the news.... DO NOT POST THIS IMAGE ON THE OFC. PLEASE. FOR THE LOVE OF GOD.
  18. You mean like this? Yeah, so am I. *g* Thanks for the montage link dreamlarge. He's so freakin' adorable during that song. Love it. I'm still bouncing in my chair from knowing that I'll be seeing Clay this summer. EEEEEEEEEEEEEE!
  19. I'm actually with you on this....it would be INCREDIBLY helpful if I had the dates, and could start planning. Like you, I have a limited number of vacation days, and also several family commitments in July. And I can't even THINK about taking time off from the middle of August onward (not when school starts -- I had to finagle to get time off for the JBT 2 years ago, considering I had just started my job). The first show and last shows would be cool to attend, but I'll wait and see where they are at. One of those might be my "fly to it" show (as compared to "drive to it"). At this point, I'm hoping that Texas gets something. They deserve it. :F_05BL17blowkiss: to CG. I've been there....lost my job just as the dates for the IT came through. But I decided that I was worth it to go to two of the shows, and I'm glad I did. I think you deserve it too..... But what it is about all this uncertainty? At my workplace, 3 people have resigned this week. Sheesh. I seem to remember reading about a few recording artists who had their fully completed albums "sit on the shelf" at some record companies. What did the artists do? Make a big stink about it to the media. Clay hasn't done that, which suggests to me personally that this was not the case. It seems to me that if the album was truly "scrapped" (as in "shelved to make a cover album, but totally recorded nonetheless"), there would have been some major press about it....not just a little blurb in EW. And if you want to call me delusional -- hey, that's fine. Anyway, ITA with you luckiest1! BWAH! Bolding mine. This actually brings up an interesting speculation...if bottlecap's theory that LAA just wasn't finished in time, but the song didn't make it to the fans until the NEXT album....would there have been unrest because the song is so good and should have been out sooner? Or would that unrest be unwarranted, because it would be part of an "originals" album? (Assuming, of course, that the next album is mostly orignials...) But I agree -- I think Clay gave us a gift by releasing the song on iTunes. It could be that we'd all be sitting around, LAA-less. *g*
  20. I honestly think Clay gets a kick out of the new fans he gets....no matter how he gets them, or what age they are. In a way, I think he's still just floored that there are people who are willing to see him. It's that "humble" thing that he's got down cold, and I don't think he'll ever shake. (I honestly think that this is something that some fans want him to get rid of too, his humbleness. Not me.) Anyway, he seems to enjoy any and all of his fans when he's in concert. So am I. He's said more than a few times that he likes singing songs with good melodies, and I believe that does tend to take him more toward ballads (not all the time, of course). I think his phrasing is outstanding when he sings, and that, along with THAT VOICE, makes him a song stylist for this generation. BTW, this doesn't mean he can't be a "pop star" too. In my mind, it's not an "either/or" situation. JMO. But that requires PATIENCE Ansa, and IMO the fandom has blessed little of that. I'll freely admit that I'm one who doesn't like to wait either, but I've discovered over the past few years that patience does pay off. Buying tickets immediately to the "first" show, only to find out later that there is one much more convenient to me, has burned me a few times. I also feel that if I can just take a deep breath and wait, I don't get nearly as frustrated later when things change (which frequently do). It still amazes me that people are scrambling to get tickets to these first two shows when they are no where near them location wise (my definition is a 6 hour drive or less) when we haven't even heard the complete tour schedule, or even just simply other dates. Speaking of which.... Yes, I've noticed that too. My fingers are crossed as well. But then, I'm also hoping for a new blog soon too. Not demanding Clay do that, just hoping.
  21. ITA with this assessment, because it IS a good way to broaden his fan base. And by "fan base," I mean "someone who will buy CD's and enjoy him in concert and on TV...no matter their age." I could be wrong, but aren't a lot of the people who have subscriptions to these kinds of things, shall we say, of an older generation? But yet, their money is still good, IMO. Or, if they are not of the "older generation," they are of "the "moneyed generation." Again, I'd like it if Clay got their money somehow. A fan is a fan is a fan. But...but...but....these new fans are going to be expecting crooner Clay, and that's just not fitting his cool and suave image." Tough noogies. Personally, I think he's going to be "song-stylist Clay." I really like that description, and find it quite apt for Clay. I beleive that many people will enjoy him for being a song-stylist. If it's not cool...so be it. I'm as happy as a kitten chasing a leaky cow at the moment with the thought of tour plans. EEEEEEEEEEEE!
  22. Count me in for the FCA get together. If it's Bay Area....my husband may want to come along. That would be cool, but put a bit of a crimp in MY style. *g* East coast would work for me as well, since I'm in the center of the country. At this point, I'm either for Casa de muski or one of her earlier suggestions -- New Orleans. EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE! for the concert dates appearing. I'm looking forward to seeing and hearing Clay on the stage again.
