  1. With perhaps one exception...although I can't be sure about all wealthy business owners.... Music Industry Execs consume more recreational drugs, alcohol and sexual partners than in any other industry. But the perks are beyond belief and difficult to give up or learn to live without (I'm ashamed to say) Oooooooo I can't wait to hear what he's adding this evening!! Please let it be IYDKMBN PLEASE
  2. Thanks for the review, luckiest. But where's the second half? And why in the hell were there NO SO's during the first half?! (insert foot tapping emote here)
  3. Looks up and sees self on top of her. Yikes, I hope someone else posts between now and the time I finalize and post this one. Otherwise it makes me look really pathetic. So, who gives a rats ass anyway.....onward... Yep. I was quite pleased with this review. Unfortunately (sadly) because there are so few folks who aren't afraid to write up a deservingly decent or great review of Clay. This reads like a guy who is trying hard to remain distant yet respectful. I'm not sure, but he may just "really" have liked the show. All of which is just my o.p.i.n.i.o.n of course. Hmmm...interesting.... And that little shit! Changing the show when he KNOWS I can't attend another one. Harumph. *g* EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE Yeah for scarlett and her intrepid spirit. I loved the clack but honestly Clay, would it kill ya to eat a salad now and then? Huh?! I'm worried about your cholesteral baby :F_05BL17blowkiss: Okie dokie throw your tomatoes peeps!! (ducking)
  4. keepingfaith, WORD. BFM was formulaic, front loaded with "hooks". Clay I'm sure knew/felt this. I believe he didn't "feel it" with this song because it was common. I can't tell you how many songs I've heard since, both on radio and my daughters MY Space, that sound so much like BFM. meh And yes ITA WY is a fantastic choice to showcase his vocals. It worked for me. It was what got me into the store to purchase the CD. Then ATD, which I also loved got me in to purchase a second one for my car. Then LAA and IYDKMBN........geez, I hope my DH never reads this! ------ couchie, I think the reason Clay loves the TV theme songs medely so much is becasue it "means something" to him. Unlike many (not all) of the covers on ATDW. He has a personal history with those songs/shows apparantly and loves telling the story. He really is a story teller extraordinaire. Look at LAA. It's obviously a meaningful story for him. I think he is a complex person/talent and I hope to god he never changes. I really like/love that guy!! ------ Can't remember who I'm quoting here so please forgive me (make note to self to get to bed much earlier from now on) Quote: "Finally, we don't even know how much Clive Davis is involved in albums, except to maybe sit somewhere and have to OK something. The man is the head of BMG North America, with albums coming out every week and business to deal with, I find it hard to believe the involvement that both Clay and Kelly have alluded to him having. Most likely, he is just reflecting the advice from his A&R and other staff people, so why does not one ever curse them?" I have a very distantly related professional opinion on this one statement/question. At one time in my other life I was a peon in the music industry and from what I knew about, observed, witnessed or heard of back then I would sumize that Clive most definitely is hands on in your face involved to the bitter end of the process. Except for the marketing and such....post release portion of it anyway. Guys like him do not get to where they are in the industry by standing by and allowing others to take over the process at a certain point. Nor do they rely on feedback or suggestions from others who are paid to provide exactly that. N.O.! My best guess is that he (Clive) is a major control freak with the ego of another planet entirely. I have never met, worked with or dated anyone in the industry who was anything less. With maybe one or two minor exceptions like the salesmen/reps. He had to be the first, second, third and final word throughout. I'm willing to bet he even subliminally or otherwise made possible future promises (also known as subtle career death threats with a smile and "I love you like a son" attached) in the quise of a career counselor at one time. They are cutthroat and would throw their own mother under the bus if needed! Do not doubt it. And Clay has had to make some serious adjustments I am sure in order to just live with the "rotting souls" for which he so aptly named them. Hehe, can you tell I have issues with this business? He has, in my opinion, done very well given the so called politics he must work through in order to just survive. He has done exceptionally well to maintain his integrity throughout. Believe me, it is incredibly difficult if not next to impossible to do. I really admire his titanium balls. ETA it was play I was quoting above.
  5. Interesting thought whether or not BFM was on the or one of the albums he and Jaymes put together before the chiefy pulled a wonka on him. We may never know what was on that/those CDs. As for taking advice from Kelly, I doubt it. He doesn't seem to react to others actions or situations. At least not from what I've seen. And as for speculation....No way! I know what I heard him say on Kimmel and they were his words not a blogger or poster or a MB somewhere. He definitly said he was going to be doing something different and fresh and was excited about that. I'm only hoping that based upon tonights comments he made in NY(both in the M&G and on stage) that chiefy hasn't suddenly gone back on whatever understanding they had. And hopefully he's not gunshy about letting Clay have his own way with the next CD due to the issues with Kelly's most recent one and her going against his so called better judgement. As for ATD, I believe he had changed the tune up a few times on it before recording it. I actually like that song....like lots. I'm still holding out hope that he is going to add IYDKMBN by the time they get to Cali. Simply because they know we are special and of course he has heard I so desparately want to hear him sing this live. drinkkkk much, Sally?
  6. Oh I would love to attend the show at the Pala while I'm down there, but funds aren't gonna allow it. I hope you find some takers, muski. Good luck to your daughter's team. I hope they make it all worth the while for ya!
  7. --------- ITA about BFM sounding just like another song from MOAM. And he did not have anything to do with choosing those songs either. I can't wait to "hear" what HE wants! I want to know what else he can write about too. I am a bit worried as to what happened regarding his next CD. I get the uncomfortable feeling (probably just indigestion from my burger) that the cryptkeeper is starting to back paddle on his supposed promise to let Clay make the CD he wanted. I'm sure speculation will abound after tonights comments from Clay. I'll stick my hand out there and see if anybody bites - Wondering if the KC issue plays into it in some way. Perhaps now Clive is thinking/saying "See, I need to maintain total and ultimate control over you kids". Or....maybe not. ------ Oooooo I'm Lovin' the "horizontal cha cha" pic and the "lip bite" does anybody ever read my posts? she ponders to herself.....
  8. Finally went to see the last of the "Pirates" trilogy (love me some swaggering capt. Jack or anythng Johnny). At Worlds End was better than I had expected it to be from what I had heard from friends and family. But not as good as the first. None of them were. The ending was a surprise though and I liked that. Although there were moments, one scene in particular, where I felt I had fallen into the middle of a Salvador Dali live action painting. (?) And DH and I had an actual date (it's been so long I'm not sure that is the correct term anymore ) Anyway, we went to see Oceans 13 and it was pretty good. Very funny, though at times sophmoric but they all have been so no surprise there. My only complaint is that the jokes have a tendancy to be a little "too inside", but still good overall. I especially found the scene where Clooney is made up to look like Freddie Mercury hilarious. Don't blink though 'cause you'll miss it!
  9. BOING Good god, I can not take my eyes off the new banner over at CH. My mind does not compute.... How can one man be so damn beautiful and manly all at once. God bless the wood nymphs and their camera genius, one and all!! I bow to you :F_05BL17blowkiss:
  10. Well, I am trying to stay on top of the clack but it's hard ya'll and it's only gonna get harder 'cause in less than 24 hours he's BACK! EEEEEEEEEEE I've enjoyed the "Best Of" so far and it makes it easy but still can't warm up to the TV Show Themes medely. Eh, oh well. I agree it would be nice to replace or reduce this medely to add LNM or possibly add an encore of something really powerful like Invisible, Solitaire or IYDKMBN. I'd love to see Clay with a BIG finish. But it's always easy to be an armchair quarterback muski, I often think when my teenage daughter IS sweet and helpful, especially without my asking (500,000 times) I believe aliens have invaded her body. It's only when the mothership calls them back that she returns to us her usual, surly, languid self. I've often considered making said aliens a proposition. But then hubby steps in a spoils the plot!! OMG I'm going to actually see HIM in just a few weeks ya'll and I am beginning to get nervous. Do you think he'll notice me or look my way or scold me (I love me some "dom" clay) or sing to meeeeeeeee??? hehe can you tell I'm excited :Tour3:
  11. Great job, laughn! I love these stories. Only......no licky fingers yet? Wahhhh j/k
  12. It will be good to have it there for easy reference. Just click on the link above to take you to the skit. Ansa
  13. keepingfaith, I so admire your ability to "perform under pressure of pulsating perfection"! Your recap is EXCELLENT and I would never guess that you were under the aiken fog given the clarity of your detailed description of that moment - Quote: "I hear the voice, and then he strolls in front of us from the left and it’s again not easy to effectively describe what that vision is at that moment but I’m thinking about the 7 Faces of Dr. Lao in that I see all the beautific, sexy, alluring, beguiling, innocent, precious, naïve, worldly expressions within a single beautiful face, simultaneously. Forevermore I’ll never again think Clay Aiken has a chameleon like appearance. It’s all there all the time and sometimes a picture can capture and isolate one facet over others, but he’s always all there and I know it now --- the kid who auditioned for American Idol, the cute guy on the cover of Rolling Stone, my forever-idol of AI5, Snowflake Clay, Gala Clay, the Clay pictured with David Foster in Canada last month – and he denied me nothing." I am so afraid I shall never be able to utter anything other than a single syllable such as huh, uhm, gah, gulp....when my time comes. AND IT'S COMING... I shall be deflowered soooooon. I hope to live up to the standard you have set here for virginal recaps and if I do not, please take pity and just nod your heads politely.
  14. What We Don't Know So I had a thought..... (shut-up, it could happen) We know Clay has said he had to take some time off from the tour for his friend's wedding. We know most weddings don't go for ten days. Most. We also know that he will need some travel time in that space as well. Aaannd we know he mentioned he was a little nervous as to whether the "classics" medley would be a success or a failure. So....I can't help but think perhaps he took the opportunity of the timeframe for the wedding to allow a few extra days for retuning the show if needed. For instance if the medely was, as he put it, a colossal failure, then he might have to rework or replace it. Now from what I have read or heard it seems it was more of a success than a failure thus far. I personally love it and hope he doesn't change one bit of it. Nada! But I'm curious if anyone here thinks he may come back with some changes of any kind. Anyone? He may even take the luke warm response to the TV show themes medely and make some changes there. Or he may shorten one or both of the medleys to include more songs from either of the CDs that folks have been asking for. Or maybe he had scheduled his annual colonoscopy like the diligent individual that he is. Wait, too young. Perchance being fitted with some new more "riveting" jeans? Any other ideas... Hmmmmmmm? Is it Tuesday yet ETA {{{{{{{muski}}}}}}}
  15. couchie, I am beginning to think that the inmates are now running the assylum or else I have entered an alternate universe where good is now evil and right is now wrong. I can't believe that TOAD get's air time now. WTF
  16. Oh abso-tively! My trusty iPOD and Clay were never far from my side, erm.....ear. Gibby, I hope your parents are doing better. I also hope your homefront survived your being away as well. There's nothing worse than having to come home from taking care of someone elses house and then clean your own and do the laundry and so on. But then we have Clack to take our minds off of everything even if only for a little while. BTW.....I experienced something this week that I honestly never felt before and was surprised by it to say the least. My mom and I stopped by the local winery so I could pick up a couple of bottles and mom happen to mention to the very nice young women behind the bar that we were going to see Clay Aiken in a few weeks. She looked at my mother and said "Oh Clay Aiken huh? Is he still around? Huh!" Well at first I felt hurt. Then I found myself glaring at her and thinking little does she know and of course I went immediately into protect/defend mode. Is that weird or what! I absolutely did not jump into the dialogue, but I so wanted to. She began asking my mom more questions and mom then looked to me and I said "well, actually I'm the fan, but yes he is touring this summer and we are seeing him at the Greek in LA". I wanted to share our enthusiasm with her but she was having none of it. I did my best to seem unruffled but I swear I heard my voice strain at some point. Could have been my imagination I suppose. I tried to tell her a litttle more about him but then sensed she wasn't all that interested so I let it go. Heh! Still around indeed! So I only purchased ONE bottle and we left. Take that, clueless one!! Unfortunately our plans for getting bombed became a small buzz....but it was all in the name of Clay Again, just 'cause it's so cute EEEEEEEEEE......thank you for making my original point for me! I'm sure nobody will recall that far back but I do and this makes me feel better (Please, no more saggy ass Tulsa jeans, Clay) OMFG The Eyes have it! I nearly swallowed my tongue when I saw this one...... breathe, honey, breathe BWAH!! Sounds to me like The Breakfast Club Meets Bye Bye Birdie?! Keepingfaith said: "I MISS HIM SINGING LIKE A VIRGIN. I thought it was hot. I thought he was so sexy being campy and slithery ... " and I strongly concur!! Karen Eh, loved loved loved your pics!
  17. I will be out of town caring for my mom for a few days and won't have any internet access. WAAHHH! So you'll have to carry on the smut fest without me. I will leave you with this little ditty. Hope it wasn't already posted. If so.......oops. "Sleeping on A Jet Plane" by The Ditzy Chicks http://clayaikennews.net/Sleepin-On-A-Jet-Plane213.mp3 :F_05BL17blowkiss:
  18. This is a different director again isn't it? Is the plan to use a different one on each film? I wonder why, although it is interesting to see the different styles don't have all that much of an impact on the films. And I see where Chris Columbus is no longer appearing in the "production" credits. just thinking out loud carry on
  19. Well, I have stated my deepest innermost intimate thoughts regarding Clay's appearance on tour thus far and what do I get for it? A great big thwacking! Way to be sensitive, ya'll. Did you ever consider how much angst I put into that post? Huh? Did you not once think I might be desparately reaching out to the man, pleading with him to stop wearing said saggy ass jeans becuase they were causing me distress?! I NEED TO SEE CUTE TIGHT BUNS AS WELL AS THE PACKAGE, LADIES!! NEED I tell ya. j/k So anyway, I woke up this morning with a sudden NEED to hear HYCA. Not sure why. But DH is out of state again and I got lonesome.... or something So I sat at my puter w/my cuppa and whoa. It hit me. Yah, that's why. Alrighty then. So now my thoughts on HYCA..... and hopefully ya'll will be a little nicer seein' as how I'm so horny vulnerable and all. He starts off softly, slowly caressing You anticipate him building towards the climax of the song His vocals take so many detours on the way there He is up and then down and all over you with this song His voice is high and then low all within seconds as he plunges deeper towards the end and then Aahhh...yes yes yes I love this arrangement madly!! I know why I love this man's vocals. He makes love like no other with his timbre and style and he isn't even trying.
  20. Sorry for post-hoing, apparantly, but I wanted to add that I was watching spot's Tulsa Banter & ATD as well as WISYS and THE MAN was in fine voice! Mighty fine voice. I really loved this ATD. But I also gotta to say the boy needs to get himself a stylist! pronto! Please, Clay!! You cannot come to Calif. with that hair or those saggy ass jeans. Now get on it buster. Are you listening, Clay? I Love you :F_05BL17blowkiss:
  21. Ooooo... Are we measuring now? And I just did a long double take on this from Scarlett: "I've sent the files to Ivana but for those who can do XViDs, the first batch of Houston files" I thought (hoped, dreamed, prayed, promised my second born...) that this was meant as X as in X-rated So whose got the measuring tape?
  22. Nah. A Claynadian just won one for one of the NY shows. I thinks it's just the odds are greater since more locals than non would be in attendance anyway. GOOD LUCK though!!
  23. Oh what the hell... ETA just to put in quotes and title it/couchie
  24. If you have not yet read spotlighlovers Tulsa tome (recap) you need to do so stat. I laughed so hard the tears are still streaming down my face. I would bring it over but figured it's pretty long. Well, not Clay long, but pretty long still. It's on page 42 @ the CH.
