Hi all, Back from lunch with Jazzgirl and Momo3boys (whom some of you know)' yeah we kind of lost track of time but it was a great visit and it is always fun to spend a few hours talking about Clay among other things. She also made us DVD's of Sterling Heights along with some add-ons, so new clack to watch! Great news about 5th grader, I figured if it wasn't on this week, it would be on eventually. Kim

Switching back and forth between AI Rewind and the Bears/Packers game...Clay sounds wonderful...those auditioning...no so much. The Bears are losing...not a good week-end for Chicago teams. Kim

What now? Anyone know? Not sure I want t know because frankly JP is off my radar. He would have to have some importance to be on my radar and he doesn't. But since she brought it up, now I am curious. Just the is he or isn't he crap again...supposedly he was in possession of a letter from the pastor of the Church in Wichita demanding that Clay prove he isn't gay (so who wants to be first to help Clay prove it?)...as usual no truth to the accusation...the venue is selling very well and the church is very happy that Clay is going to be singing there. LOL I really love this and this is me. I like soul music and I like Clay AIken. For me it's not even about the songs, it's about Clay. Weird. But my involvement in this entire Clay fandom is weird. heee. Not weird at all...I feel the same way. Kim

Talking about recorded songs versus live performances...I Survived You. Love the song on the CD, but really did not like Clay's live performance of it...I thought at times his interpretation was a little over the top and too dramatic...I know a lot of fans love "pissy" Clay, but that one was not one of my favorites. Kim

I have an interesting little tidbit to share (well, it was interesting to me.) I had bought hubby the first season DVD of WKRP In Cincinnati (I blame Clay, couldn't get the song out of my head and then I was ordering DVD's at work one day and saw it and had to have it!) Anyway, one of the episodes was about Les being thought of as being gay. He was being banned from interviewing sports figures in the locker room because he misspoke and someone referred to him as a "queer little guy" and another player took that literally. So Andy and Mr. Carlson are telling him this and reassuring him that they will get it straightened out. Les's reaction? "It doesn't matter if I am or not, people are going to think what they want" Kind of knocked my breath away for minute hearing this and then kind of made me sad to think 20 some years after that show was on the air those perceptions are still valid today. On a lighter note, the show is still hysterically funny and I still love Dr. Johnny Fever! Kim

You must by psychic; that is already happening. Seriously, were the songwriters supposed to lock the song away in a trunk never to see the light of day again because Clay wasn't recording it? That seems to be what some are thinking and it makes me scratch my head.

I'm so sorry. *sniff* Sorry you won't get to go [shallow] and sorry I won't get to meet you [/shallow] I really wish some fans could get away from this "Clay as the perpetual victim of RCA and Clive" mentality...why is it so hard to accept that maybe he just didn't like the song? Kim My theory? Clay isn't turning into what they want him to turn into. They have to blame someone because they can't blame Clay and they have to believe he may not want for himself what they want him to be. So they blame Clive/RCA/whoever-else-they-can-think-of instead of just accepting that he may not want what they want. Exactly! Kim

Bravo Keepingfaith! I still have that clip on my computer and two years later it still gives me goosebumps! This man will not be denied, he is too talented and too driven for it to be otherwise. I truly wish the fandom would allow him to develop into who is meant to be instead of always trying to make him into who they want or need him to be. Loverboy and BFM...I wish them luck, I never had much of an attachment to BFM...it was a nice little song...too boy-bandish for me and I always though Clay could do better and hopefully he will on the next CD. Okay, something wierd just happened with the board; I refreshed the page and when I did every post on the page was self-contained...the thread title was above every post and there were no reply buttons...had to go back to the forum and refresh and now it looks back to normal. Kim
