  1. Personally, I am not one to borrow trouble and as always, I think a lot of this shit could be avoided if some fans would pull out their dictionaries and look up the defination of ignore...There are too many fans, in the guise of "helping Clay" just end up fanning the flames and before you know it we have a full out bonfire. Most of these times these sites are just looking for hits and attention, and it seems Clay fans are more than happy to help them out. Kim
  2. Good Morning Everyone, 42 Days until Clay is Live at Lincoln Center! 53 Days until Clay Tapes The Skating Special! 73 Days until The Christmas Tour Starts! 99 Days until Christmas in Merrillville! 102 Days until The Skating Special Airs! Everyone have a great day! Kim
  3. Clay's High School Reunion is the week-end of the 21/22...I remember that because my birthday is on the 22 and when it was posted on the boards, I commented that Clay was celebrating 10 years out of high school and I was turning 50, doesn't seem quite fair. Kim
  4. I guess I just don't see what the phone call has to do with anything. A press release was put out about a non-existant tour without the knowledge of the other two supposed participants. No, we don't know how far the negotiations went; but according to Clay's blog it was just an idea that was tossed around and nothing came of it. Kim and her team screwed up royally and Kim pissing in her blog that Clay didn't call her two months to deflect any guilt on her part just came across as immature. As far as I am concerned, Clay is the innocent party here. Kim
  5. I guess I am at a loss as to what Clay did that would be considered jerk behavior? Is it because he didn't return a phone call for two months and how do we know that is true? Two sides two every story and I always prefer to give Clay the benefit of the doubt. Kim
  6. Hi All, My first reaction on reading Kim's blog was "what a bitch"; Clay was very careful in his blog not to call her out; would have been nice is she could have acted like an adult and done the same. Have no idea the status of their relationship but I can't imagine Clay is too happy with her right now. Jello, huh! I love Jello with fruit...I also like Orange Jello with carrots which my kids think is gross! Kim
  7. Had a Clay moment today...was in my bank and suddenly I hear this oh so familiar voice...they were playing This Is The Night! I was so excited, we don't hear much Clay in the Chicago area and I think I have only heard him a couple of times when I was out. He does have such a distinctive voice and I have not listened to that song in a long time so it was nice to just stand there with a goofy smile on my face and listen. Kim
  8. Jazzgirl Great first post and so glad to see you here! :F_05BL17blowkiss: Backing a winner...I think that is never so apparent than with the constant need to make sure Clay wins every poll, no matter how inane out there. I think for some, there is this thought that if Clay is not no. 1 in a poll, it will mean his popularity is waning, his 15 minutes are up, etc. Not saying I have never voted in a poll, In Style comes to mind, but I generally avoid them, especially when there are fans who have decided it is their job to browbeat you into voting for everything and make it seem like it is life and death. Kim
  9. Good Morning Everyone, 43 Days until Clay is Live at Lincoln Center! 54 Days until Clay Tapes The Skating Special! 74 Days until The Christmas Tour Starts! 100 Days until Christmas in Merrillville! 103 Days until The Skating Special Airs! Everyone have a great day! Kim
  10. Decided to bring over the whole post: Stripedshirts:: Here's a little something exclusive: I found out today where Clay had lunch this weekend, and with whom. Here's how I found out. I went to a pretaping -- AND -- Got a little fun scoop from the Tyra Banks Show! Since Tyra's show has moved here, I got a tkt to go this afternoon. The guest was Rachel Zoe, Celebrity Stylist to the stars and she is promoting her book called "Style A to Zoe, The Art of Fashion, Beauty, and Everything Glamour" And during the segment where Tyra covered 'F for First Class', she shared a little tidbit about where to get a really great meal, first class style -- it's a place that we read about from a few months back: JEAN GEORGES. Dinner at Jean Georges can run you $100+ a piece - but if you go during lunch, you can still get the same great dishes for 1/4 of the price! And right after she mentioned that she let slip that she had lunch w/ Clay (said it like this 'Claay.....AIKEN!' w/ a big smile & bounce) there a few months back. She didn't reveal what she & he ate - but did share that she paid for the first lunch. The 2nd lunch w/ him was just this past wknd, which he returned the favor. She mimicked Clay w/ " 'Oh, ah'll pay', w/ that Southern accent of his" and she also said "Of course you are!" It was so totally unexpected. As soon as I heard his name mentioned, I squealed and clapped. Nobody else did - they just sat and stared, either not knowing who Tyra mentioned or didn't care.....aw heck w/ you people' .... I was darn happy & proud I heard his name mentioned, & w/ such admiration. & I love that she shared this - shows to me, as well off as she is based on her growing enterprise & fabulous modelling career, she can still be frugal, budget conscious -just like our Clay. So now we can connect something else he did this wknd - caught The Color Purple, had lunch w/ a buddy. Later, I chatted w/ one the producers. I congratulated him & Tyra for the show doing well & bringing it to NYC. I also showed him the little Clay pin I had on my lapel, & expressed how sad I didn't get a chance to show it off to Tyra. The pin was the size of a nickel, but Clay's face was prominantly on it. The producer immediately recognized him; & said "Oh! what a show that was -- the women were CRAZY!" then he caught himself & quickly said "but it was a GREAT show! I loved the rapport between him and Tyra" I had bust out laughing, thinking about how it went last Oct. when Clay first came to show & how those who were lucky enough to attend, blew the minds of those producers who had their hands full that day. Our unbridled enthusiasm certainly leaves a memorable mark every show Clay goes to. Nobody knows when/if Clay will come back to Tyra's show, but we can be sure he will when the time comes for that cd (or whatever else he's got to promote). I also got a bit of nice loot from the show. Rachel Zoe's book is a nice style guide - she's dressed alot of celebs & will be doing a book signing in the city in October when it's released. No air date has been announced yet for this show, will have to find it under the topic "Rachel Zoe - Style A to Zoe" book promo on Tyra's website - but my hunch is Oct. since that's when the book is released. Hopefully if the Clay mention isn't edited out, you will hear it when she covers the "F" section in Rachel's book. That certainly made my 1st Tyra show experience. So in case you wanna set your vcrs/tivos.....here's a little something to look forward to in a few weeks
  11. Stripedshirts just posted at CV that she was at a taping of the Tyra Banks show and Tyra let it slip that she had lunch with Clay over the week-end...I think we need some Clyra pictures. Kim
  12. Welcome Spikesmom, I love cheese sandwiches, but my favorite is a tuna melt...tuna on rye with cheese and then grilled. So who is Spike? Kim
  13. Dark chocolate is my friend, yummy! (are we past the Kim talk? I was afraid I was going to have to change my name!) Kim
  14. xxx4clay I am so glad you are here and I was very happy to see your post, even though I knew it would be edited...I got edited today too...big surprise...for daring to say that maybe a little common sense is in order when these situations arise...apparently that was being judgemental. (if you ever have another lapse of judgement and go back, check your PM's.) :F_05BL17blowkiss: Kim
  15. I see we are talking food... Never had liver...but I like liver sausage! My Dad always put salt and pepper on any melon he was eating, cantaloupe, watermelon...actually he put salt and pepper on everything...he would only eat lettuce with sugar on it and his favorite treat was a piece of bread with butter and sugar on it...He was German by the way. My Mother was Italian so I grew up with lots of pasta...it seems all my childhood memories revolve around food...both sides were big on desserts and cookies...at Christmas you couldn't even see the top of the table with all the goodies. My German Grandma was the jelly maker...guava was a favorite and she made the best cookies....would always send us decorated Santa cookies at Christmas. They lived in Florida and a big treat for us was when they would send us a bushel of oranges from their grove...we thought it was so cool to get oranges in the middle of winter. Kim (Oh, and I absolutely hate brussel sprouts)
  16. Couchie I will be the first to admit that I can be very sensitive to criticism and tend to take way too many things personally and that is something I need to work on and can't blame it entirely on experiences at other boards; it goes back before Clay was even a mote in Vernon's eye (I was going to say glint but I don't think he every was)...so please don't feel that any of you need to censor yourself on my account...I enjoy the conversation here very much...common sense in the fandom...what a concept! Kim
  17. Just dropping by for a quick dose of sanity... :F_05BL17blowkiss: to all! Kim ETA Sure is a lot of backpedaling and rationalizing going on out there.
  18. Good Morning All, 44 Days until Clay is Live at Lincoln Center! 55 Days until Clay Tapes The Skating Special! 75 Days until The Christmas Tour Starts! 101 Days until Christmas in Merrillville! 104 Days until The Skating Special Airs! Everyone have a great day! Kim
  19. Okay, I admit to having a shit-eating grin on my face right now after Clay's last blog. I know I was pretty pissy about the whole thing even though I knew that it probably wouldn't have happened and I want to apologize for it. The one thing that makes me sad is that after all this time, there are some who will still not give Clay the benefit of the doubt and are more than happy to rip him a new one at the first sign of him supposedly doing something career-wise they disagree with. As for Kim, no, I don't feel sorry for her.....She's an adult and knew exactly what she was doing and if she was really a friend of Clay's she could have nixed the whole possible tour angle. I wouldn't blame Clay if he is really pissed at her. Okay enough of that...too many good things coming up in the next few months to look forward to. Kim
  20. Good Morning Everyone, 45 Days until Clay is Live at Lincoln Center! 56 Days until Clay Tapes The Skating Special! 76 Days until The Christmas Tour Starts! 102 Days until Christmas in Merrillville! 105 Days until The Skating Special Airs! Everyone have a great day! Kim
  21. Hi All, One of the things I am having trouble reconciling with this Tour is the thought that Clay wants this tour when he has shown a lot of disdain for AI during his banter (sorry I can't quote sources)...just can't figure this out. I did venture over to the OFC and yep, lots of OTT posts from the resident drama queens; some very condescending posts, I thought, directed at those of us who chose not to go if this happens (why do people care how I spend my money?) and I do believe there were some trolls lurking around too. I would be the last person to tell Clay how to run his career, one of the things that drives me nuts in the fandom is all the know-it-alls who know exactly what Clay needs to do to have the successful career that they want. If he really wants to do this tour than all the angsting and breast-beating in the world is going to change his mind and bottom line it is his career and he is the only person in-the-know that I trust...I always figure he has way more information than the rest of us and is can make better informed decisions. I will always be a fan, doesn't mean I will always like what he does. Kim
  22. Now this I think is one of those slightly overstated comments that starts putting people on the defensive - I am sympathetic that some are upset. I do find amusement in some of the over-the-top reactions to many things. I am not disrepecting anyone's opinions. Let's not go down that way. I guess it does come off as somewhat defensive, but that was last night when the news broke and I wasn't dealing well with it; still not and they just hit me the wrong way. Kim
  23. The only reason I brought up the Kareoke aspect, is because my suspician is that they would be singing a lot of cover songs...probably stuff from AI and I think Clay needs to get away from that. Could be wrong, but that was my gut feeling. Kim
  24. Well, I slept on it and thought maybe I would wake up with a different perspective, but nope, still hate the idea. Been reading on other boards and seeing a lot posts saying that those of that would not go to this tour are not supporting Clay, trying to teach him a lesson and generally will be responsible for the downfall of his career. My reasons for not going have nothing to do with any of that; I simply am not a fan of Ruben or Kim and see no reason to spend money on a tour that I would probably not enjoy. I hope those that go have a wonderful time and enjoy it. I still do not think it is a good idea; this this kind of tour will just enforce the kareoke/cover singer mantle Clay has to carry and will not do much as far as letting go of the AI baggage. As you can tell, I am not a AI fan at all and maybe that has something (or a lot ) to do why I am not happy about this. Kim
