I think it could be a win win situation...yeah, you could set your watch by how soon the usual suspects show up and give their reasons why this would be the worst thing ever and are already predicting the demise of the new CD. Since he said Holiday stories and not specifically Christmas do you think he would mind a Thanksgiving story? I have a dandy concerning a pan of stuffing that ended up on my Grandma's dining room floor and still made it to dinner (albiet with a few...um...added ingredients...interesting that the grown-ups never noticed the dog hairs and lint mixed in with the celery and onions! I sincerely hope I didn't come off as defensive in my post this morning...that wasn't my intent; just to give my perspective and how things effect me. Cindilu :F_05BL17blowkiss: I totally understand where you are coming from. Loved Clay on ET...he really is adorable and I didn't get the Donald Trump comparisons either. Amazing how one little appearance is getting him so much publicity...UNICEF or a new PR person? Kim

It was always interesting watching my girls interact with each other; sometimes they could be the bestest friends and other times fight like cats and dogs and yet no matter how much they picked on each other, when it came to outsiders, they were always ready to defend each other. This fandom is often like that...let a DJ; talk show host, etc. pick on Clay, make fun or call him names and we are ready to fight to the death, send e-mails, etc. and yet it is perfectly acceptable for the fans to pick on him, tear apart his hair, clothes, career choices and it is all couched under "sharing opinions" and "Clay wants to hear our criticisms". Has always seemed like a bit of double standard to me. I'm not saying he is perfect or that I haven't seen pictures that I didn't like or he hasn't done things that I questioned, but for me, it just isn't necessary to post about it publicly. I usually just pick up the phone and call my best Clay buddy and re-hash the latest drama. Personally, I spent a lot of time in my middle school years, much like Clay, being picked on and bullied, so I have a pretty low tolerance for criticism and I probably do over-react to things that are said about him on the boards so I do tend to scroll a lot or just leave when I feel it is going beyond my comfort level. Interpretation can be tricky, what same may consider snarky others may see as being snotty; what some may see a funny, others not so much...it is sometimes difficult and while emoticons may help; sometimes things just strike you the wrong way. I myself have posted things which I thought were snarky or funny and have been called out as being sarcastic and I am always kind of surprised because that wasn't my intention. So, I tend to be much more conservative when I post. Just my two cents worth and I am sure there will be many who will disagree with me...just thought it might be worth discussing. Kim

Couchie Just word to your whole post! I don't google, I don't go to those other boards or gnatty sites...my opinion...gossip is a two-way street...you need someone to print the gossip and someone to read it; I don't see much difference in the two. Those "fans" who think they are helping Clay by engaging with the slime are delusional and probably looking for some attention...and really, with "fans" like that, who needs enemies. I made the mistake of calling them out on their crap on Chexxy's place and was immediately shown the door. Power can be a very dangerous thing and there are too many fans out there who think they have it or are invested in getting it and they don't care who they have to walk on to get it. I am at the point now, where I just read the boards for news...I lurk more than post and just scroll past those who I know are going to push my buttons and enjoy doing it. Okay enough of the serious stuff...had a date with my Clay buddy this morning to exchange clack and just visit...she ended up inviting me to Sam's club with her and I spent $70! Hubby wanted to know if I was stocking up for a blizzard (with the way the weather changes in Chicago, you never know, LOL!). I did get some stuff I needed, but I may go broke If we make this a regular thing! I keep trying to get her over here, she is of the same mindset and I thing she would enjoy it! Sometimes it is really good to be out of the loop and clueless...reading the last few pages was a real eye-opener. I joined Chexxxy's place thinking it was going to be a different place and it was different; just not what I was looking for...I couldn't hightail it out of there fast enough. I don't know about calling AI cheaters, but I do think there is a lot of manipulation going on there; its all about casting contestants who fit in with what kind of singer they are looking for during any given year. I would bet this year they are going to stack the decks to have an African-American male win since we haven't had one since Ruben. Not to mention having ringers and professionals as contestants. It really is a game show and not a talent show...it has been pretty obvious since Season 2 how much it has changed and how little the audience voting really matters. They are going to promote who they want whether that person was the audience's choice or not. Look at Daughtry and Taylor Hicks. The premise was that the winner would get a recording contract and now everyone and their brother gets one, so why vote? Not a fan of the show and while I am thankful to it for giving us Clay; I think it peaked at Season 2 and has been going downhill ever since. Kim
