I've had plenty of friends and many wonderful experiences in my life, yet somewhere in the back of my head was a little voice saying where are my people, where are my people. I'm sure that sounds completely batshit crazy, but I've never felt that I've been around people who think like me and I've compromised and understood and been patient with the people in my life, like forever. Anyway, I found my people -- and what do you know, turns out they are Clay Aiken fans. This is something I realized before I ever met even one of you in person. It has nothing to do with traveling or going to concerts or any social thing ... I just found a group of supportive and giving and open-minded people and the glue is Clay Aiken. I needed this moment of self-disclosure. You are my people.

If you need something to make you feel better....listen to OMWH CD...listen to the words of OMWH...very applicable to this situation. I was listening to TRM...and if Jaymes is someone that has accepted the Real Clay...that is a powerful bond. I love this CD and if this controversy is making people listen more to him ...then GREAT.

iseeme, CG...and those that are having trouble with this...I hope you start to feel better and I totally respect that your feelings and emotions are your own. I have no problem with you posting your opinions as long as you don;t have a problem with people posting opposing views. I just have some fundamental differences with you that makes me react differently....

...I really don't care if this story is another "proof" that Clay is gay. Everything about Clay has been used as proof that he is gay...his hair, his eyeliner, his voice, his walk, his interest in special education, Broadway...what else. My attitude is SO WHAT? He is still getting respect for his voice for his music, for his charitable work and is still selling relatively well in this time of bad economy. YES he gets ridiculed...everybody does. Its a sad part of our society today so I just ignore that ugly side cos Clay or his fans can;t do anything about it. The only way he can win is by being himself and not let all the negativity defeat him or control his life.

...IF this is true...I don't see this behavior as contradictory to his wanting a family and children. It actually supports it. I don't think he is a conservative that believes the only valid family is a married man, woman and children. He is surrounded by examples of single women bringing up their kids Angela and Quiana...so I don't see why he wouldn't support Jaymes if she wants to have a child. I also see how he does not need blood relation to consider people family...he has his tour family, his Broadway family...so to him the term family can have many meanings. This guy...I can see doing this. This is about love...creating a new human being that will bring joy to his parents...What is so contradictory about that. Jaymes is a beautiful woman. She certainly does not look 50 and she is exactly the type of woman that Clay would admire and respect. I can see him seeing the qualities he wants in his children in her. I also believe there is profound love between these two...whether that is platonic or romantic...it is still a very strong bond. ALL that helps me be happy and even be excited about the possibility that Clay is a dad.

...I know some people are saying that he should be considerate about his fans...well here is a radical idea....what about consideration for Clay, for Jaymes and the baby. I think in this instance his priority should be Jaymes and baby, Clay, their family and close friends, his career, then maybe his fans and then the general public. So if for whatever reason it is better for Jaymes, Clay and the baby to be quiet about this...then the fans should just understand that. If they are angry about it and wants to leave the fandom...that is their prerogative but Clay cannot be responsible for our happiness. This is really not happening in the fan's lives. Clay is a stranger. If we turn off our computers, don't listen to radio or TV gossip shows, don;t read gossip magazines...this won;t even affect us. The worse things a fan can experience are friends teasing them...so give them a finger or ignore them...but then it need not touch us. BUT this changes Clay and Jaymes life. This will follow Clay all his life so I think they need to figure out how it will be easier for them before thinking about the fans.

...I said that I think they should make a statement about this eventually. This morning I changed my mind about that. Seeing how TMZ is even unearthing the sex of the child, I think the only way they can manage it is zero info coming from their camp. Of course if its not true I think a denial will make the story insignificant. BUT if its true...I think its naive to think that a simple announcement that they will have a baby will stop the media frenzy. That will be just the beginning because if they make a statement they are giving the press a bit and they will keep wanting more and more. They will want to know the HOW, Why, When, Where and even really hound the mother and child once the baby is born. KAndre gave a great example...Jodie Foster. She gives nothing about her private life and its been like that from the beginning...so now the press accepts that and no longer hounds her. I think the other alternative is for Clay to just open their lives up to the press and the fans...and I don't think he will ever want that.

...I don't think this will hurt his career...more and more people are getting curious and checking him out...

...If this is true...I actually have a lot of admiration for Clay and Jaymes. They are not letting archaic conventions...the haters...the paparazzi...the fans...stop them from doing something that will bring them a lot of joy. They are taking their lives in their hands and taking risks. I think Jaymes is very brave doing this. I hope the very best for her.

THIS has made me a bigger fan of Clay...love him and so proud of him.

This could be my very first post. Another Clay fan sent me a picture of Clay with other artists and President Bush. She said he performed for the President last night. If this is true, it shows that he's still busy performing with very little time for gossips.

If your picture is in some photobucket account...all you have to do is copy the URL and in your reply box there is a button with a picture...click on that and paste the URL of your picture in the window that comes up.

If the picture is in your Hard drive just do a file attachment...below the reply window there is a button for browse...find the file in your HD then click on the upload button...then you say click on add to post button.

The interesting thing to me about our posting that we want a statement from Clay and/or the Fosters is that our opinions won't change what they will do. We can post here what we think Clay should do until the cows come home, but Clay's gonna do what HE thinks is right in his own time. So, personally, for me, and me alone, it seems rather pointless. Please note - I'm not telling anyone not to post their feelings or that they really want a statement. I'm just saying that for me it seems like wasted breath (or keystrokes - heeee).

I'd rather think about those broooaaad shoulders, and what it would be like to assist Mr. Aiken in relaxing after a long evening in that tux. After all, he must be exhausted, and someone needs to help him get all of those pieces of clothing, hang them up, give him a little back massage, and .... well, I think I'll stop there!

WORD...in a way I can understand where Iseeme is at this point because she is just processing it and most of us has had a couple of days to get used to this story. But I do hope that people can move on to accepting that Clay will do what he thinks is best for himself and Jaymes first and foremost...and we really don't know the whole situation to judge whether it is just a simple yes or no.

Isn;t it great that clay did something to distract us! And those pictures sure make me forget about all this drama.....

I watched the Broadway Cares DVD and it is so worth the money (although I am hoping it will be ripped because that is a lot of money to pay for one song and I know everyone can't afford it). First of all, it is IMO his best duet he ever did. eeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee I love it because first of all the audience noise is muffled so you really can hear the song loud and clear. It's really a thing of beauty and they both looked fabulous. I love me some Hannah.

This is my favorite duet ever and the one that showed me he truly is a Broadway star.... I want to see it too!!!!

We are all entitled to privacy...celebrities or no celebrity. If Clay does not want to speak about this that is his prerogative. NOW the fans response ...that is up to every individual. If people are angry with it...then you are...Clay is not responsible for your feelings and he does not have to make you feel better. If the fans want to stop supporting him...then stop...that is your choice as it is Clay' s choice to speak or not.

My personal stand...I think he should speak about it eventually...but that is up to him and Jaymes and I will totally support his right to keep quiet if he wants.

Ahh Play - whatever!!!! You did exactly what I figured you or someone else would do/say/maintain. I'm not looking to make people agree with me. I'm venting because I'm unhappy and confused. I got an email from a friend a few minutes ago and I'm going to quote her. I think maybe she's summing it up better than I did:

And on that note. I'm finished. I don't care if anyone agrees with me, feels the same way I do, or gives a rat's patootie. I think this whole thing is weird, sensationalistic, and ill-conceived (oops, no pun intended there!) It could have been handled in a much better manner for ALL concerned....including Jaymes and the little one! As for how it got leaked.....the one thing I did read was the first TMZ blurb where they quoted the Foster family rep as announcing she was pregnant, Clay was the father, and the baby was due in August!!!

Iseeme...we were on the board when this whole thing developed and broke out. The original TMZ report just said multiple sources told TMZ that they were having a baby. At this point most everyone on this board was just laughing about this because no one was taking TMZ seriously.

THEN People magazine got hold of a rep fo David Foster...who confirmed that Jaymes is indeed pregnant and having a baby in august and clay is the father. That is when we started seeing it spread like wild fire on a lot of the entertainment news sites like ET and on to legit news. SO...this was not an announced thing. This was not planned.

The denial that came from the EX sister in law only came from one article from a canadian paper and as far as I know that was the only article that said the Rep retracted and asked People to take back the story. Since...no retraction was given by people and another story about Claymates support came out.

SO at this point...I think the only mistake made was Davids rep opening his mouth to confirm in the first place. At this point no one in clay and Jaymes camp is speaking. That does not mean they will never talk about it. I think its pretty premature to worry about the baby at this point.

CG....we don;t know if its only Jaymes that uses the Clayandr SN...unless you know that she was actually there reading...we do not know what she is doing. At this point I do think she is pregnant cos both stories did confirm this detail.

But, I really do not know why it is so important to differentiate between artificial insemination and in vitro fertilization. In both scenarios conception did not happen "the old fashion" way and in both scenarios it meant Clay (IF this is even true) was in a room with magazines, a cup and his hands.

Which I believe is the whole reason for this breaking news. True or not, does anyone think there would be nearly this much interest if Clay was going to be a father under what most would consider more "normal" circumstances? Nope. The sensational aspect of this rumor is the artificial insemination angle (or IVF but I doubt TMZ cares about the difference). And I believe that the whole reason that has been the most important and emphasized slant to the story is because it feeds right into the "he's gay" theories held by so many. That makes it much more juicy and sensational than if he were in love with someone in his age bracket and was expecting a baby conceived the old fashion way. How boring would that be!

I do disagree with this. Most of the headlines that I saw was talking about Clay being a daddy. If AI part was the big story then that would be the most prominent headline. The detail that was getting the most attention IMO is the fact that he is having it with an older woman. I really do think this story became huge because of Clay and the older woman angle.

Iseeme...I do agree that I think it would be better if they make some statement about this. I still think they will but I personally am willing to wait for it. With this event that he was on...I can see him wanting to just concentrate on preparing for this. This is not some insignificant thing and he sang a song he never did before, I can see him wanting to put aside the stress of dealing with this story as he prepare for this performance.

I also agree with JennaZ when she said that maybe they were taken unaware by the leaking of this story and right now they are still deciding on how to handle this. I really don;t know why people are so unwilling to wait for them to make a statement...why do people think they have to do it NOW? Its not like our personal lives are involved in this. I don't think they are taking away anything from us by taking their time on this. I do believe they will speak up, eventually.

As I said earlier...I am most concerned about Jaymes at the moment because this can;t be an easy time for her. Because of her age, this would be considered a high risk pregnancy and stress should be kept minimal. I have a feeling the family and everyone is keeping her quiet and trying to keep her stress level down so the fandom is not their top priority. I think that nothing will be said about this until Clay and Jaymes can sit down and figure it out and when they are ready, we will know. Now that we know what Clay was busy with this last few days...the silence makes more sense to me.

KF...I do agree that one thing that is making me go more to the believe this story column is how People has handled this story. I don;t think they can just ignore a retraction if there was some real basis for it, and not just someone that regrets saying something about it. I also think that follow up article is more like a PR piece from TC, I could be wrong about that of course.

Not that Clay wouldn't donate. I don't find that surprising in the least.

But - if age and inability to conceive up to this point has been an issue for J, then wouldn't it be "in vitro fertilization" instead of AI?

I just have a feeling that some idiot got 20% of a story and didn't have sense enough to know the difference or the terminology or bother to look it up. I can certainly understand ivf. Much more believable to me.

IMO, probably the only truth in the story is that Jaymes is pregnant. I think they probably asked DF's spokesperson general questions about Clay to try to link them together and then just embellished the rest to suit their needs. It won't matter to me either way, I'll still love Clay, but this just doesn't seem like something he would do. I'm hoping we hear something from the Foster camp tomorrow to straighten things out. I don't think Clay owes us any explanation because I sincerely believe he had nothing to do with the situation. I could be totally incorrect, but that's how I feel at the moment.

Another lurker comes up...I think a lot of people feel this way thats why people are being cautious about believing it totally.

I see that some people are really worried about how this will affect Clay's career, but 1) I don't think Clay makes any of his decisions about his personal life on how it will affect his career, and 2) it is quite possible that this will actually boost his career. I know that I became much more interested in the Dixie Chicks after they made that controversial (at least to some) statement about Bush. I'm funny that way, if someone gets all bent out of shape about something, it makes me more interested. Started reading the Harry Potter books just because of all the frenzy about how it was going to damn people to hell or something. Who knows what they were jabbering about. Yes, he may lose some fans, their loss, but he could possibly gain a lot more. That's life. Is there a singing emoticon around here? Wasn't that a Sinatra song? I know I heard it somewhere.
