  1. Got just the thing for that all-important street cred: or these: Clay could fake everybody out (and make PETA eat their words, ha!) by wearing these: Um, toe socks may be a bit problematic....maybe he can have some special-ordered, because I doubt these would fit: (Sorry about the size, I resized them in photobucket, but it didn't matter) Divayenta, I hope your husband is home, safe, soon.
  2. Since I have declared today is Official Post-Prostitute Day (um, just for ME, so watch it!), allow me laugh out loud at Bottlecap, and to giggle at playbiller - and then thwack! play upside the head if "modelling Clay" is a pun. And I think it is. Ya know, more people should submit entries, because Clay may even now be considering dismissing his entire team, and hiring his very own PSPO from this very thread.
  3. bottlecap, Bwah! And I think you represent the best kind of Clay fan - you are a fan of Clay! Ansa - we can't just let Clay pick out his own socks - what are you thinking? I think he really does need his own personal sock picker-outer, or PSPO for brevity's (and spelling's) sake. I mean, we can't trust him, or his mom, or any of his friends or stylists to pick out his socks, ya know. Isn't done. Not right. I strongly suspect that the unmatched socks were deliberately provided to Clay by RCA and Roger.
  4. Psssst! (Looks around nervously) Is the boss gone? Warning - snark ahead, scroll if ya forgot how that works! I was thinking that, even though we here at FCA are prolly not smart'n'savvy enuf to have a poll which will absolutely certainly affect Clay's future plans, becoss he prolly doesn't HAVE any, ya know, we should have a little question of the day ourselves. I would ask the mods if it is okay to do so, but haha! she is off being buffed and brushed and polished and massaged and being made splendiferous - we'll be lucky if she even comes back! so here goes....... What kind of socks do you think Clay should wear in order to attract, and keep, that desirable 18 to 29 year old demographic? What kind of socks do you think Clay should slowly and lovingly pull on to his elegantly looooong footage-class-appendices in order to reel in that other desired clump of fans - the older - but not in their dotage, for goodness sakes! - smart'n'savvy'n'sexy well-seasoned wimmen? Think carefully, and I want to see exactly how the socks you choose work into a comprehensive marketing plan, if at all possible. Of course, with the right socks, I personally feel he can fire everybody! Success and adoration will be his! Well, even more of it! Stripey socks? Solids? Adorned with little chickens or hearts or firetrucks? or SpongeBob? Little crosses? Dollar signs? Cotton? Polyester? Silk? (A turn-off for moi, I don't want to see hairs poking through, they always make me think of the Joe Namath commercial, if Joe had not shaved first) Gold Toe? Ralph Lauren? Should he dress those amazing tootsies to impress? or to show his solidarity with his more common fans, who prolly buy their socks at WalMart right after a smiley-face price break? How about those shapeless sock thingies that you get in the First Class ditty bag on an airplane? I LOVE those! And everyone will know for sure he flies in style! And how long should those socks be? Knee-high? over-the-calf? crew? ankle-huggers? And don't forget to specify what color! We may finally be able to suss out what his favorite color is - or maybe he will cleverly trick us! Bet it is one or the other! We will know right away if he pays attention, because I betcha he will be wearing socks at his next public appearance! It will be a sign! And, to borrow and slightly amend that old plea from Festivus, we can holler "Clay! Turn around and pull up your pants!!!!!" OOOPS!! (Looks down to see who is currently signed in) Yikes! The boss! Busted!
  5. Oh, what a great picture! No content to this post, just Thanks! to all, for the pretties!
  6. well, I uploaded the pictures to the google picture thingy, and linked to them from there - I thought I was so clever, but I guess not. I love those Tyra pictures - she is so beautiful, and Clay is so handsome....
  7. Ok, I hope this is okay now - I opened a photobucket account, and have been copying and pasting my old decrepit heart out.
  8. I have bad news.....I just got back from observing the line of ClayMates waiting to see if they qualify as smart'n'sexy'n'savvy older, no, wait, mature women, and thus be suitable for representin' as Clay fans.....sadly, the line passes right by a tavern, and I fear these fans are not gonna make the cut..... oldkittykat4Clay, after two beers..... hasNE1seenmyfleacollar123, after three glasses of wine.... Hey!whomovedthelitterbox747, after four kamikazes..... Almost the entire FCA group, after a few shared bottles of wine..... purring4Clay, after a few Margaritas..... pickofthelitterluvsClay, after two bottles of Jack Daniels.....(oops...looks like a Claydawg - doesn't he know guys are exempt from preferred fan demographics?) And - after a loooong wait - 2 beers, 3 glasses of wine, 4 kamikazes, some Margaritas, and a bottle of Jack shared with those 'mates from FCA....some sort of minion....
  9. Really interesting posts about YWT - I do remember that the discussions about it revealed quite a bit about some people, good AND bad. I am in the non-religious camp, but I loved YWT and took the staging no more personally than I did for any of the other songs. Clay just looked transported and happy; I do envy him that! I had more to say, but y'all will be QUITE relieved that I can't post more because this: Playbiller said: cracks me up uncontrollably - I would pay quite a bit to see Neil Young in The Jazz Singer! And I don't even like Neil Young! But it would be worth it just for the harmonica parts.
  10. I bet Sarah Silverman shows up in bed, too...somehow I picture Clay and Kimmel snickering and laughing and planning this show for weeks.
  11. Amen. Do I have to get dressed up in order to attend the Church Of Couchie? Oh, due to circumstances beyond my control, I was in a KMart on Saturday - they have fully restocked ATDW, complete with the download stuff! About 15 of them! I have not figured how this is all part of an evil plan, though, so I don't know if I should be pleased or not - oh, wait - I'm happy! Although this is a quite urban music section - but then again, no ATDWs for at least a month, so it is good!
  12. Saw four ATDW's at my WalMart today - guess they have not been told they are not to sell them! I am quite JELLUS of people who are going to the BAF thingy.....Ms. Fear - I know we can't get a cellcert, but I will be waiting up for the play-by-play description! In other news, I heard that the City of Santa Monica has petitioned Gov. Ahnold to change its name to Mary Sue City.
  13. That is interesting, because I have always known that Bono does a great deal of good, but has his warts just like everybody else - but this is generally not paid attention to outside of England and Ireland. I have heard he avoids paying taxes just as much as anyone else does who makes it big in the music business. Moved his corporation to Amsterdam or some such thing. And I don't think that most of the people who buy his CDs care at all. About anything but the music, that is.
  14. Happy New Year to y'all! I am just wishing for some more CLAY!!!111!!!1!!! concerts in my future! The sooner, the better!
  15. I watched DOOL for the first time ever! Clay looked and sounded heavenly. It was wonderful to hear OHN, too. What a gift. That Patch guy looks 100 times better than his picture. Heeee....my 34 year old son used to watch DOOL - I had no idea! I guess the flu is going around - I've got it bad. It is so boring, though, I just read the new Hannibal Lecter book straight through.
  16. heeeee...Muski, here is a little something I wrote a couple of years ago...a little song review: Thoughts on hearing Solitaire...first, and subsequent times... Starts out slowly, crisp, clear, soft, but not tentative....., have been waiting for this song....think I know what to expect, have already experienced little bursts and teases of it, loved other versions..... Just the piano, then that necessary little drumbeat....just to keep things on track, and move the song forward... The absolutely beautiful enunciation of "indifference" lets me know that we know where we are going with this song, we will love and treasure ALL the words, all the little steps that shepherd us to the....conclusion. We drift along with the song, it is just lovely as it goes, a familiar experience that has somehow started getting more interesting and intrigueing.... The volume and instrumentation keep increasing in intensity...not so swiftly as to surprise, but insistently....patiently... First chorus, perfect, just as I had hoped....then that little touch of lower-register "broken" says, wait...I am not even close to where we are going with this... Next chorus is starting to build in complexity and intensity...starts slowly to swell.... Then, the almost painful tiny halt..... right before "a little hope".... was expecting the big finish right there..., but no...not yet.....we sweetly keep at the softer pace for just a little longer....and then, the huge, sweet glory notes we were hoping and yearning for... And they don't stop.....they go on until we are just sated...with the song.... The final sweet fade is so necessary....it would be a shame to just abruptly halt, and... now we need a cigarette...or to just keep playing that song. Like some other experiences, it keeps getting better when you know what to expect and know you will not be disappointed.... Strolls back into own lair, which is currently decorated in a Moroccan manner...
  17. Merry Christmas to all, and some advice for KAndre - if you think White Castle burgers are bad, don't even think about trying a Chili Cheese Pup from Krystal's. Talk about a slider. I won't even bring up the deep-fried hot dogs from Rutt's Hut in New Jersey - astoundingly, this thing can be ordered in varying degrees of doneness, like a filet mignon: "Cooked to different degrees of doneness. In and out (cooked just enough to eat) Ripper (cooked till the skin rips) Weller (more well done) and cremator (black)." I had one bite. Oops, I guess I DID bring it up. Anyhoo - KAndre's recaps - mine pale in comparison! Here is a sample: Jacksonville was awesome! !!111!!1! Traveler and Perusingone are awesome!!!!!! Clay looked fabulous and sounded awesome!!!!!! I am pissed because I did not think to steal a Clay Aiken Concert Dinner menu from the restaurant in the OMNI - that was the only dinner they were serving, pretty deluxe, too! I totally agree with Ansa's thinking on ATDW. Not dead, no conspiracy (except for bone-headed penny-pinching stuff which an awful lot of other artists get - who knew Fantasia's CD just was out? I sure did not.) Crappy business as usual, looks like to me. I find it impossible to believe Clive would nix a fabulous CD of originals just to make a point or sink a ship - too much money involved. Besides, maybe this way we will get more songs written by Clay, now that he has taken the plunge with Lover All Alone and has received good feedback. Oh dear, for some reason that sounds smutty.
  18. Hmmm...I always felt she was reserved because idiot fans were always in her house, in her yard, in her business. Heeee....saw lots of those at Clay concerts - fans, not Faye. Clay clearly loves her, and he is no fool, so I have always felt she was nice, but unprepared for all the scrutiny, and so withdrew. I am considered cold and stoic too, because I will be damned if I will cry in front of strangers who are expecting it. I cry in privacy. People who watch me for a reaction are S.o.o.l.
  19. ok, I just cracked up at "but we don't wanna die before the concert" and my grandson wants to know what is so funny!
  20. Well, lessee - Cathy Bates is married to Dan Ackroyd, who thinks she is dull and asks for a divorce. She is a big fan of an older singer played by Jonathan pryce - who gets killed on the way to a TV show where Bates has won a M&G. She is so upset by everything she uncharacteristically travels to England to see pryce's house, and meets pryce's lover/partner, Rupert Everett - seems pryce was in the closet. Oh, and Bates' DIL is that pretty dwarf lady who is guesting on House and Boston Legal right now, she is her partner in crime, they and Rupert try to track down the killer. It is a hoot, there are tons of guest stars, but for some reason it never got released, it is just on cable and DVD. Bates turns out to have quite a nice singing voice, too, and I do love Jonathan Pryce. If you google the movie, you will see mostly raves! It was made in 2002 - Manilow has a bit part in it, sings at a tribute, he looks "preserved" or something.
  21. I just watched Unconditional Love for about the fourth time - it is just so funny and sweet and weird, I recommend it highly! Cathy Bates, Rupert Everett, Jonathan Pryce, Dan Ackroyd, Barry Manilow, that pretty dwarf lady who is showing up on House and Boston Legal, a bunch of other people - I went ahead and ordered it from DeepDiscountDVD, so I would have it to watch whenever I want.
  22. It is great reading the recaps - I am not watching much clack because I will be at Jacksonville Thursday night - anyone else here going? We are meeting across the street from the venue at the OMNI, after the show.
  23. playbiller has been counting seats and says there are less than 120 left in the building....
  24. She has already hung up, I think she will call back at intermission...the sound wasn't coming over her cell phone too well. But will def. tell her everyone said Hi!!
  25. Hey! My scoop got scooped! y'all are quick! But yes, looks pretty full at the theater....according to playbiller. I am jellus as heck.
