As for the picture we are trying to place.... I can't quite put my finger on it either. It look like it was taken outside, because his eyes are a little squinty. Could it be one of the ones on the bicycle? I can't for the life of me think of what folder that could be in!! I can't think of what magazine it was in either.

I did find one kind of similar tho...

The hair looks a little the same. It's labeled tv guide, so I guess that one was in tv guide! You can compare the hands at least!!

Kim - I sympathize with your TV/Cable woes!!! I forgot to mention that I am still having problems with my computer, even after my guru was here for 2½ hours on Saturday. It still isn't booting up sometimes (gets hung up on the welcome screen) and then after a couple of hours it will display an error message and the aother saying it needs to restart, and then it'll reboot itself. Not a good sign!

I also have Comcast and have been thinking of another possibility. I wanted to wait for Verizon Fios but it doesn't look as if that will be available here for awhile. I think Dish Network might be another option, or just the regular Verizon DSL.

But then what to do for TV reception? It's a dilemma! :8:

oh my goodness LOVE THEM!! Im already for the new Moon movie but if you go see the movie, go with low expectations, its not like the book, its low budget and there are a few eye rolling moments, I went with low expectations and didnt expect it to be super and I enjoyed it very much

jamar - I vote for "Downtown" - sounds more like a destination.

If you can correlate those two events, then I don't think there's any way Clay can continue to live up to your expectations/standards.

If Clay starts his own record label, I doubt it will have had anything to do with Justin. Just sayin'.

I would think if they use Clay's song for anything they'd have to pay for the rights to use it, which they most likely would have! However, they could also use the images and not use the sound track. I guess we'll have to wait and see.

heinz - you are right! I did think of water when you said 'tubing' -- my daughter and her bf are into kayaking and just went during the week between Christmas and New Year's so my mind just automatically thought of water. My mistake! That does sound like fun, and I might even like to try it! Do you have to have special tubes, or will any ole innertube do?

We used to have a tractor tire innertube we used in our swimming pool when I was growing up. I wonder where one could get one of those these days???

I admit to having adverse reactions to all of these mistakes! Yes it has become much more prevalent since the invention of the internet. (a word the AOL spell-checker always insists I capitalize - why, why??)

Actually, I can't believe I left out MY pet peeve, Your and You're.....

I laughed at the grammar lessons; I'm so with you all! Many of those drive me absolutely nuts too. My pet peeve? Misspelling people's names....KRISTY Barnes. JEROME Bell. Not Jermone. It's all about showing respect, I think. If you're going to talk about someone, at least get their name right!

My pet peeve (like anyone cares) in the grammar world is "its" and it's". It's not like it's too difficult is it? Hee!

There are people out there who seem to have involuntary typing strokes and put an apostrophe before every 's' at a word ending. That drives me bananas! I withdrew the line of not commenting when one was going to publish a shirt with an unnecessary apostrophe at the end of one of the words.

My grammar pet peeve is 'they're' 'there' and their'.

Fortunately, this one is less popular somehow!

they'd call for me and ask where I was - you know, "Cheryl Ann, where are you?" and I'd coming running and reply "here me are!"... so I guess I was destined to have poor grammar...

Another funny story... when my kids were little I used to yell at them to "BEHAVE!!" Once one came up to me, and looked at me with those adorable eyes (she was about 3) and said "Mommie, I'm bein' 'have!!"

Also - we used to live on a bendy bend in the road and whenever the roads were bad, cars would end up in the yard across the street fairly regularly! One Cmas Eve, two girls showed up at our door, laughing at pointing at their car in the neighbor's yard, telling us that the neighbors weren't home. They had obviously "had drink taken" to use the Irish description! We called the tow truck and offered them some hot chocolate. Ah, the good ole days! Now we live near another dangerous curve which people miss at least once a year it seems! The results are a little more sobering, ambulances must be called as well as tow trucks.

Regarding RCA and all the swirling comments - I ventured to another board last night and found out two things. Peeps think Clay planned this all along, that his contract with RCA is over and he is happy with the outcome. Now he can do what he wants.

Second thing... RCA not only closed down the clayaiken.com site, but also Clay has owned his own domain name (i.e. clayaiken.com) since sometime in October. I checked my internet ID site and this appears to be true.

My Personal Opinion - and I have been thinking this for a couple of years now - is that Clay will start his own record label. After all, does he not have (one of) the most powerful names in recording in his corner? He already formed his own production company (Fifty-two 30 - or however you write it out ) so why not his own label? It seems to be a logical progression to me. Several other AI grads have done it, well, maybe not several, but at least Justin Guarini that I know of.

I hope this becomes fact.

Another thought..... if he has his own production company, and has already bought rights to a few show names, how far away could it be before his own dream of hosting a talk show become a reality? We all know how persistent he is!

That's because it has become so common place that you have become accustomed to hearing it said that way. In fact, I know people who correct their kids, incorrectly!!!!

Other commonly, but incorrectly, used terms:

WRONG: I would of gone to the movies with you

RIGHT: I would have gone to the movies with you

WRONG: Her and I are going to the movies

RIGHT: She and I are going to the movies

WRONG: Her is going to the movies

RIGHT: She is going to the movies

THEREFORE: She and I are going to the movies

Quick observation about the "would of" thing. It probably evolved from people saying "would've" in a way that caused people to start spelling and saying it as "would of." (that is all.)

Some spelling mistakes bug me too. Like when someone spells "definitely" wrong and puts an 'a' in it. Or when people abbreviate "et cetera" incorrectly, putting 'ect' instead of 'etc.' We all have our little quirks I guess!!

Hearing about that plane crash reminded me of a winter day a long time ago when a plane crashed after take-off from National Airport and landed in the Potomac River near the 14th St Bridge. It was all because the plane wasn't de-iced properly, What a tragedy that was. They made a movie out it a few years later. I was home with my babies watching the whole thing on TV.
