  1. Add me for another show -- Saturday, March 29, at the 8:00 p.m. show!
  2. *pumps fist in air* HA! I changed the banner! Now I just need to show couchie how to do it! Pretty eyes banner, courtesy of cindilu2. And no, I don't think he's looking down 00lsee's shirt exclusively....we can all dream that he's looking at each one of his FCA women!
  3. I would say my grade would be a "C" from the Clay Aiken School of Financial Management. I am doing one Spamalot trip -- when I hadn't planned on ANY trips. And I'll probably splurge for a few more tickets to the show while I'm there. But....having said that...when there's a husband involved (one who is wanting us to put new windows and gutters on our house, not to mention remodeling the bathroom), it kind of knocks the grade down a bit. *g* 3 pieces of Clack? Oh God no. Only 3?!?!?! That's insanity.
  4. Marilyon, THANK YOU for your recap. I didn't find it boring at all! Cotton, sorry to hear about your van, but I'm glad it's was fixable. And at not too bad of a price either. cindilu....sorry, she didn't tell me how to do that. I'd screw it up anyway. But I think couchie may know.... And that's a beautiful banner. ETA: I'm chatting with Ansa right now....the first leg of her journey is complete, tomorrow begins round two. And she just talked me through changing the banner. I'm going to wait until tomorrow though....hee.
  5. Oooooo, Marilyon, thanks for the pretties! Did you enjoy the show yesterday?
  6. My husband claims I curse more lately than I did before, and he thinks it's because of me hanging out with all you guys. I don't know where he got that idea. I still don't curse all that much, but it's mostly when I'm mad as hell. Also, stupidity in traffic makes me curse. But I will say that I think my cursing on this board may be seeping out into my RL talk. *shrug* I hope Clay has a good day off today. OK, so he's probably working on his album today, I but I do hope he has fun this evening!
  7. Pictures of a CUTE guy and new emoticons. All is right in my world. *g* YAY for KARENEH!!! (Hey, that rhymes!) aikim, I think WGN is going to start shifting Rewind a LOT now that baseball season has started. I seem to remember a screen crawl during last week's episode announcing that the show would be on yesterday. Which I of course totally forgot about. Figures. I'm going to hope my local station will show it just under two hours....but that channel is showing NASCAR at the moment. So, I could miss this episode all together. *sigh*
  8. Ho hum....just another boring day in the fandom, I see. And honestly, that's pretty much all I have to say about that. I think maybe I'll go to the gym this afternoon and listen to Clay sing to meeeee! Ansa, I hope you have a fabulous time on your trip. Please keep in touch! I still love the Moanica picture. He was so damn cute that day. Of course, I find him "so damn CUTE" every damn day.
  9. What is it about Clay? Damned if I know. (Gotta steal from the best, don't ya know. And heh....just had a thought. That line above should be a thread title....) What draws you to him? There's a couple of things at play here, for me. One is, as Gladys so rightfully put it, is that he's a mystery. He's constantly surprising me, and I like that. From his hair to what he sings to his career choices, I never quite know what to expect from the man, and while I normally hate that kind of thing, in his case I find that charming as hell. Secondly, it's his sense of humor. As couchie said, the man is QUICK, and I'll never forget the day I figured that out. I had been half-heartedly following AI, even through the beginning on season two. I liked Clay's underdog quality about him, and thought he had a really really good voice, but still wasn't really all that invested. Then, they showed the visit to the Television Academy of Arts and Sciences. Clay mentions that he's from Raleigh; a person in the audience claps. He then says, "if you're here, who's at home?" At that precise moment, I knew the man had a brain, and was funny. Have you ever been this involved in another singer's career? Yes and no. I've been a fangirl almost my entire life -- actors and singers. So, I've been involved in their careers in the fact that I've gone to see Raiders of the Lost Ark almost 35 times in the theater, or seen Huey Lewis in concert more than a few times. But....the internet wasn't around for most of these fandoms for me, and to me, that changed everything. The speed of clack being uploaded, and the instant sharing of ideas, is a boon to someone like me. Is it just the singing? No. I do love Clay's voice, I really do, but I would say that's fourth on my list of his favorite qualities. His humor and his brains would be number one and number two. The other would be his heart -- the man seems so caring to me. (Sorry for the sap....) What is the other key trait that makes you get on a message board every day or download some clack? Easy. The friendships. I love reading about Clay....but I also love knowing what is going on with every single person here. And was it the voting and the nature of Idol that invested you so much? Again, no. I only voted the last two weeks. I think for me, the reason I'm invested is because of the MAN. _____ Crap. Well, it took a month and a half. I guess maybe I was afraid it would be a shorter period of time than that.
  10. *crosses fingers that both the NYC Guide and the Playbill are still around when I hit NYC at the end of the month* Kareneh, I hope you have safe travels, and I'd love to hear about your adventures as they unfold. merrieeee, buy the biggest you can handle. *g* YAY!!!! It's MARCH!!! I get to see Clay this month!!!!
  11. I'm TOTALLY avoiding work here today.... Check here for the FCA recommended media. CMH was the last song of set one. Heh. Before the news of CHM home hit, I was finding myself singing this to myself. Too many earworms for one day.
  12. cindilu, that article linked says that CMH is usually associated with Christmas, but they are changing one lyric (the first line) to take the only real "holiday" reference out. (Hopefully, they asked Kenny L. first! Hee) In the case of the interviews with Linda, I'd totally agree with this assessment. He knows Linda, he likes Linda, he trusts Linda....and vice versa. He seems to open up to people who he likes and trusts. Diane S. is another one. Heck, I'd even throw old bird Larry King into that mix. He's turned into a terrible interviewer anymore (and not just with Clay), but I've always got the feeling that Clay likes him. To be totally self-serving, may I suggest
  13. Considering that several of us have our only Spamalot trip planned for March, I would say -- NO!!!! Yeah, I think claytonic will be a bit busy this weekend. You know, I was never a "I can see it in his eyes" person, so I can only vaguely comment on that. However, I will totally agree with this.... He is definitely a survivor, in soooooo many ways. And I think it is fantastic that he's found someone (both Jaymes and Kipper) who are helping him find his muse to channel everything that is going on his life. It's exciting, ya'll. Definite thread title nomination.
  14. luckiest, I'm so glad things are working well for you. You and your son will make it! fear, good news about your son too!
  15. Do I need to hand out coffee to certain members of the Clay Nation? Also, besides going to people he trusts....he's going to people that will reach a fairly wide audience, IMO. Forget going to the industry rags first. Let's hit People magazine -- circulation 1 gazillion. (OK, I made that up [tm Clay]). I'm sure there are lots of people who read people.com on a daily basis who are not Clay fans, and now have a heads up that he's going to have an album soon. And the media spread of the WRAL clips suggests the same thing -- hitting both Yahoo and AOL is pretty darn huge. It's a grassroots approach, and I really like it. Or as couchie says above, "taking it to the masses." So, do you have coconuts there? *g* I know! The moment I heard the title, I pictured Clay doing the priiing move...growling "come on, woman, come on daddy"...throwing his head back, arms extended...killing on that chorus. Yeah, I've not got that song in my head, which is good, because I loved Clay's version of the song. At the same time, I'm very happy for Ruben that he's got "another chance." At the same time AGAIN (hee), I'm like play in that I hope the comparisons and the nastiness are kept at bay. Crap, it sounds like that isn't happening.
  16. Thanks duckyvee for the recap. I like hearing about the changes you've seen in Clay's performance, and also your noticing the rest of the show!
  17. The sendspace laljeterfan posted is for the longer clip. YAY!!! :F_05BL17blowkiss:
  18. OK, I must be blind. I can't find where that clip is in the CH vault. Can someone PM me the link? I can usually find almost everything in the vault (I have my files pretty similarly organized), but this one is simply eluding me. Maybe it's because I'm sitting here with the laptop, and the cat on top of my arms.....
  19. aikim, I don't have a key to the CV vault, only the CH. I guess I'll just have to wait patiently. Thanks for your help though. merrieee, that's very cool. You now have a grail of your very own!
  20. Question: is there a rip of the WRAL "behind the scenes of Spamalot" available for download? I've watched many times today, but was wondering if there was one available yet.....
  21. 00lsee, I'm assuming you've seen the "need more room" clip now.... ....and I'm waiting for muski to chime in here. As if we don't already know what she'll say. He is simply adorable. Oh wait, that should be CUTE, shouldn't it?
  22. There's a new 7 minute video on the WRAL website, "Backstage at Spamalot." I've only just started watching, but he takes us into the costume room. And crap, I've got to leave now!!!! CRAP!!! But I did see where he talks about "needing more room" in his costume....heh.
  23. WRAL.com Aiken Reveals Backstage Secrets of "Spamalot"
  24. After watching the clips a few gazillion times, I've got two things to say: 1) I'm going to go to bed right now, and having great dreams. 2) Can I take him home with me, squeeze him, and call him George?
