  1. I'm with CG, I like Alexa's voice, I like the song....but she needs to stop swaying so much! Thanks YSRN and Gibby for posting the screencaps! He's so yummy.
  2. couchie, as another of my favorites Huey Lewis sang, "It's hip to be square." New album -- out by fall 2008 is my prediction! I'm liking Aida Turturro! Never seen an episode of "The Sopranos," however.
  3. Could Clay have gotten any redder when Jimmy mentioned the horse and his....attributes? So, if they are looking for producers right now....what does this mean for that kickass album that was recorded and will be released any day now? CG I think Clay told the truth when he said he just gets told that everything is set up. He probably has no clue of the date when the shows end....as compared to the Claymates, who have the entire schedule memorized. *g*
  4. Gibby, we don't miss any chance to smut around here! I actually like the lime green/purple combo, I think he looks very adorable. The bangs are what make it, IMO. It's too funny watching him talk about UNICEF while on a horse. Stroke of genius. (Anyone? Anyone?)
  5. So if I rub him, I'll have good luck? BWAH!!! He looks so adorable! And kinda regal too! Love him doing the interview on the freakin' horse! Poor baby has laryngitis! Oh, not a good screencap of him in Afghanistan! Clobi-Wan-Kenobi! Hee!
  6. That seems to be the the thing for Clay and Jimmy -- how can his entrance top his last one? Heh. This summary sounds fantastic...can't wait to see it for myself!
  7. EEEEEEE! It's starting! I think Jimmy likes having the Claymates camp out at his studio....
  8. Putting this in white print, so that those who don't want to know don't have to read it (in other words, SPOILERS): From what I understand, Goran is pretty much leaving. I've read that he will be doing a few episodes next season, but he's been on the show for 9 years (AMAZING!), so he feels it's time. I'm sad about it too, I'm gonna miss him. I wanna know more about Ray, though!
  9. I agree! I'm so cool with anything that happens this evening. It will be a fun filled, entertaining night! The chemistry between the two men...and adding a horse? BWAHAHAHA!
  10. Holy crap. This should be goooooooooooood.... ETA: Latest UNICEF Fieldnote And then, from the CH: Bet he'll be dressed in robes, with a beard pasted on his face. *g*
  11. Claygasm, that's what's listed on the 1iota site for tickets. The abc.com site for Jimmy doesn't mention Cameron Diaz at all. I also double-checked the promo for tonight's show that Jimmy read two nights ago...no mention of Cameron. Maybe she's a walk-on? Maybe it should say "Tyra Banks" instead? *g*
  12. Paul and Ringo were always my two favorite Beatles (so I guess I need to fight Clayzor for Paul...). Of course, though....my first experience of them was through the cartoon show from the 60's. I could get by watching that. Sadly, I was too you to experience the Ed Sullivan/Beatles phenomenon. That's one of those cultural milestones I wish I could say I experienced, but I can't. So....where are the "in line at Kimmel" reports?!?!? luckiest1, I'll have to tape that special on CNN this evening; ER is on at the same time! *g* So....where are the "in line at Kimmel" reports?!?!? Wish I had watched that Colbert last night. But play, I agree that "The Daily Show" seems to be the best place to get news anymore. Required watching in our household. So....where are the "in line at Kimmel" reports?!?!?
  13. Television ad for the Cary concert (YouSendIt File) Harumph. He's doing songs from ATDW. I'm not happy. [/extreme sarcasm]
  14. BWAH! Personally, I was having Harry Potter flashbacks...but then, I've had Clay Aiken flashbacks when I've seen a few of the Harry Potter movies! *g* Your last suggestion here is what I took out of this. Dharma moved in, the natives got pissed. Geopolitical analogies for the world today, IMO. Are we really sure that Dharma wasn't doing a good thing? It looked to me as if they were trying to form a utopian society...not a bad thing in theory, but usually a disaster in practice. I also would venture a guess that Ben gave the gas, and the gasmasks, to the "hostiles" -- he could have been the leader in this instance. 1. I think Jacob is real -- and both Ben and Locke have the ability to see/hear him. Again, another Harry Potter reference to me; only a few wizards could speak to the snakes in the books. (Am I reading too much Harry Potter into this?) 2. I think Ben's pretty goofy, but it all may be an act. 3. I HOPE TO GOD THEY DON'T KILL LOCKE! I really don't think so, actually. He's too mystical! I noticed that too. Pretty funny, actually. I know...that blew my theory out of the water that she was an Other. Damn. Found this on the CH: Cool Lost site with Screencaps Images of Jacob, maybe?
  15. Glad to see you merrieee, hope everything went well with your surgery. (BTW, I almost ALWAYS have to check the spelling of your name. *repeats a few times: 2 r's, 3 e's*) I think that one comes in for a close second after the BeeGees medley IMO....and again, I think this one shows that the AI season two was just magical -- those kids worked hard, got a lot accomplished, and managed to sing their solos plus work up medleys that were really good. AI has never been able to capture that since. When my husband and I went to the AI2 tour, he came away VERY impressed by Charles. He thought the very opening number was outstanding. And yes, the BeeGees medley live was so much fun. That whole tour really was a blast, so much good stuff in just a few hours, and IMO, not just Clay either. I enjoyed practically everything about that tour, except for Kimbermeee (I even liked Carmen better than her....) Oooooo, an Elton John medley would rock the house....but I'm guessing Clay wouldn't sing "The Bitch is Back," would he? *g* Yeah, gotta keep up with Kimmel reports! EEEEEEEEEEE! Clay on TV! It's interesting reading the "fights" or "shared custody" between songs on ATDW. I'm surprised no one has claimed HYCA, although I think diva might end up fighting me for that one. I'll also take a hit for both BYLM and WISYS. BYLM is one of those songs that I was dreading -- I mean, Celine Dion! But I really, really love what I feel is the passion in his voice, and I think the arrangement of the songs just works. WISYS is one that took me a while to "get" -- but one day, it hit me like a ton of bricks. Again, I think the instrumentation on this one is fantastic...I love the strings at the end during the last chorus. And Clay's voice is sublime to me.
  16. Man, I need to sleep on this episode. So much happened...and yet...and yet....hell, I still don't have a clue about the reasonings of Ben, who the f*** Jacob is, and a lot of other stuff. Locke! That's gonna be interesting to see what happens with him. Hope he stays around.....
  17. Woohoo! Fresh mea...um, a new face! Very cool! Welcome aboard Gibby! So....are you going to be experiencing this: :Tour3:
  18. Totally, sorry to hear about your migraines....I know what that can be like. Yuck. Here's my take on your theories, though: I actually just laugh and admire him all the more when he says stuff like that. Why? Because it shows to be that he's simply not afraid to piss people off, just by stating his opinion. I was emailing with someone yesterday about this, and we both agreed that Clay has every right to state his feelings on certain topics, whether we concur with him or not. As a matter of fact, to me it shows me that he has a really hawt brain, you know? Also, I've heard of at least one instance where a person (not a Clay fan) offered to eat their words about things they had said about Clay, because of this interview. They really liked his chutzpah. "Balls of titanium," for sure. Image? I think Clay's image is the LAST thing on his mind, especially when he talks about UNICEF. Again, that's another thing I really, really love about him -- he really just doesn't care what others think of him. As far as his talking about AI goes -- I don't think he has an ax to grind. For what? I think it may just be more of him finally being a bit tired of getting asked about AI, when he'd rather talk about UNICEF, or the BAF, or whatever project he's promoting at the moment. And I really don't think he was criticizing their ENTIRE effort, it was just that they could have done MORE. CG, I hear ya on Kelly too. I personally think that she lives up to her nickname of Yelly once in a while, and I also think that she comes off during interviews as an airhead. But I've never really doubted that Clay likes her, and she him. "An Inconvenient Truth" rocks! ETA: CG, I'll agree with you on the first part of this. We really don't know everything that was said in this interview. It's a problem that happens all the time when he's talking about RCA, right? *g* But the second part, we're gonna have to agree to disagree. I think, if anything, by stating what he did, he CHALLENGED at least a few of "the common people" to think about it a bit more, rather than take things at face value. It's something I have to struggle with all the time as a person who works with community college students -- do we teach to the "lowest common denominator," or do we try to challenge them and hope that a few rise up? I personally believe in the latter, and I get a feeling that Clay does too. Sure, it may lose a bunch of people along the way, but those that "get it" -- boy, the appreciate it later. JMO.
  19. *clears throat to begin Homer Simpson impersonation* Mmmmmmmmmmm....strawberries.......... Seriously...I love my food, and buffet number 3 looks like the best option to me. I also like the fact that non-alcoholic drinks are included in the price -- I want to keep a clear head before the show so that I won't go into a drunken stupor and scream out at Clay during the show "Take it off, stud boy!" (Now, after the show...different story...alcohol is good then...because I'll just be yelling the same thing to the clack being shown, much less harmful...) However, I just need a nibble of sweet after a good dinner, and the strawberries sound very enticing to me. Yum.
  20. Ooooo, forgot about that one. I too have a soft spot for TITN, cheesy lyrics and all. I'll never forget that night, when he did that last "Lift me up," in that soft voice -- the change from power to soft, and then back to power, gave me goosebumps. Just thought of sumptin' -- I'm hoping he does TITN on the tour. I think I'd really love to hear that song with an orchestra backing him. If the arrangement works, that is....I think that will be the key for doing some of his older, MOAM songs with the orchestra. Any ideas on what songs will work best with the strings backing him? MOAM is an obvious choice. I'm still chuckling at the thought of Invisible like this...but I wouldn't put it past him either. Almost forgot this too -- couchie, your theory of him singing LAA as a "challenge" is very interesting. I think the song may be too personal for him...but if he could conceivably try to sing it as a way to open his soul a bit more, I would be so very proud of him. We'll just have to see. Me neither! I'm looking forward to it! I will be in front of the big screen, laptop at the ready! Hey couchie! Don't we need a "birthday" mod? I think muski just volunteered! Mean? Hell no! I think it should be enlightening to them. I loved BeeGees night during AI2 -- thought it was a great night for all 4 contestants, and I still pull out the final four medley from the results night.
  21. Ahem....I forgot about this until this morning, and had to check with a certain someone....because she was shy about certain things... Happy belated birthday Clayzorback! :bday2: BWAH!!! *puts on bling covered boxing gloves* Fight! I thought those were MY songs. Ah...maybe I should take off the gloves...as long as no one attempts to take HYCA from me, I'm cool. Man, I can't remember when I started to notice that...and it drove me nuts too. Kinda like Trenyce keeping time with her fingers on her microphone -- that was actually worse for me. My favorite AI song from Clay? Oh geez...I always have a hard time with question. TLS knocked my socks off; "Tell Her About It" impressed me as well (I thought the change up from slow to fast was quite genius); and I did love MTK as well. But, I think for me, the winner has to be BMUB -- he came out on that stage with "Why don't you..." and OWNED it. He sold that song to me that night. CG, great snark yesterday on TLS...and I love the view on your property! So very pretty! Thanks for posting this couchie...I learned something new because of that link. Very cool. Come any time and I'll make you some! Do you prefer yours with whiskey, bourbon or brandy?? Ooooo, can I have one? And my answer to your last question there: Yes. :all_coholic:
  22. Wheeeee! You will really enjoy it! I couldn't put it down. And if I was anywhere near SF, I'd have been there. I see that several communities are using this books as their "one book, one city" choice -- meaning that the city officials, and frequently the libraries in the area, encourage the entire population of a city to read the book and then discuss it. I'm gonna have to plant that seed into a couple of people's heads around here.... ...and I'm trying to get this book from my library, and all the copies are checked out! AAAAAGH! Maybe I'll ask for a copy of a birthday present.... I won't go quite that far, but I don't think it is the *best song every written and recorded* like I've read elsewhere. I also doubt it would have succeeded on the radio any more than ATD did. I think it's a lovely song, but I'm not holding my breath until he sings it in concert.....because I am not so sure that he will. If he does, cool! I'm with luckiest on this -- I love the song, think it is beautiful. But the greatest song evah? Nah. I personally don't think there is a "greatest song evah." Anyway, I think the main reason that this song got built up in people's minds is because Clay wrote it. By him admitting that, I think some people saw this as a way for Clay to get "street cred" in the music world. Eh, whatevah. I'm hoping he sings LAA (possibly as the encore), but if he doesn't, I'll be cool. It may be too personal of a song for him to sing live night after night.
  23. Yahoo Music: An Idol Who Really Gives Back
  24. Wow -- thanks for bringing that over Jenna. It really heartens me to read the entire interview -- because I now know that I'm in this show for the long haul. I'm probably not going to like some of the answers, but that's OK, because there will at least BE answers!
