  1. I agree! I'm so cool with anything that happens this evening. It will be a fun filled, entertaining night! The chemistry between the two men...and adding a horse? BWAHAHAHA!
  2. Holy crap. This should be goooooooooooood.... ETA: Latest UNICEF Fieldnote And then, from the CH: Bet he'll be dressed in robes, with a beard pasted on his face. *g*
  3. Claygasm, that's what's listed on the 1iota site for tickets. The abc.com site for Jimmy doesn't mention Cameron Diaz at all. I also double-checked the promo for tonight's show that Jimmy read two nights ago...no mention of Cameron. Maybe she's a walk-on? Maybe it should say "Tyra Banks" instead? *g*
  4. Paul and Ringo were always my two favorite Beatles (so I guess I need to fight Clayzor for Paul...). Of course, though....my first experience of them was through the cartoon show from the 60's. I could get by watching that. Sadly, I was too you to experience the Ed Sullivan/Beatles phenomenon. That's one of those cultural milestones I wish I could say I experienced, but I can't. So....where are the "in line at Kimmel" reports?!?!? luckiest1, I'll have to tape that special on CNN this evening; ER is on at the same time! *g* So....where are the "in line at Kimmel" reports?!?!? Wish I had watched that Colbert last night. But play, I agree that "The Daily Show" seems to be the best place to get news anymore. Required watching in our household. So....where are the "in line at Kimmel" reports?!?!?
  5. Television ad for the Cary concert (YouSendIt File) Harumph. He's doing songs from ATDW. I'm not happy. [/extreme sarcasm]
  6. BWAH! Personally, I was having Harry Potter flashbacks...but then, I've had Clay Aiken flashbacks when I've seen a few of the Harry Potter movies! *g* Your last suggestion here is what I took out of this. Dharma moved in, the natives got pissed. Geopolitical analogies for the world today, IMO. Are we really sure that Dharma wasn't doing a good thing? It looked to me as if they were trying to form a utopian society...not a bad thing in theory, but usually a disaster in practice. I also would venture a guess that Ben gave the gas, and the gasmasks, to the "hostiles" -- he could have been the leader in this instance. 1. I think Jacob is real -- and both Ben and Locke have the ability to see/hear him. Again, another Harry Potter reference to me; only a few wizards could speak to the snakes in the books. (Am I reading too much Harry Potter into this?) 2. I think Ben's pretty goofy, but it all may be an act. 3. I HOPE TO GOD THEY DON'T KILL LOCKE! I really don't think so, actually. He's too mystical! I noticed that too. Pretty funny, actually. I know...that blew my theory out of the water that she was an Other. Damn. Found this on the CH: Cool Lost site with Screencaps Images of Jacob, maybe?
  7. Glad to see you merrieee, hope everything went well with your surgery. (BTW, I almost ALWAYS have to check the spelling of your name. *repeats a few times: 2 r's, 3 e's*) I think that one comes in for a close second after the BeeGees medley IMO....and again, I think this one shows that the AI season two was just magical -- those kids worked hard, got a lot accomplished, and managed to sing their solos plus work up medleys that were really good. AI has never been able to capture that since. When my husband and I went to the AI2 tour, he came away VERY impressed by Charles. He thought the very opening number was outstanding. And yes, the BeeGees medley live was so much fun. That whole tour really was a blast, so much good stuff in just a few hours, and IMO, not just Clay either. I enjoyed practically everything about that tour, except for Kimbermeee (I even liked Carmen better than her....) Oooooo, an Elton John medley would rock the house....but I'm guessing Clay wouldn't sing "The Bitch is Back," would he? *g* Yeah, gotta keep up with Kimmel reports! EEEEEEEEEEE! Clay on TV! It's interesting reading the "fights" or "shared custody" between songs on ATDW. I'm surprised no one has claimed HYCA, although I think diva might end up fighting me for that one. I'll also take a hit for both BYLM and WISYS. BYLM is one of those songs that I was dreading -- I mean, Celine Dion! But I really, really love what I feel is the passion in his voice, and I think the arrangement of the songs just works. WISYS is one that took me a while to "get" -- but one day, it hit me like a ton of bricks. Again, I think the instrumentation on this one is fantastic...I love the strings at the end during the last chorus. And Clay's voice is sublime to me.
  8. Man, I need to sleep on this episode. So much happened...and yet...and yet....hell, I still don't have a clue about the reasonings of Ben, who the f*** Jacob is, and a lot of other stuff. Locke! That's gonna be interesting to see what happens with him. Hope he stays around.....
  9. Woohoo! Fresh mea...um, a new face! Very cool! Welcome aboard Gibby! So....are you going to be experiencing this: :Tour3:
  10. Totally, sorry to hear about your migraines....I know what that can be like. Yuck. Here's my take on your theories, though: I actually just laugh and admire him all the more when he says stuff like that. Why? Because it shows to be that he's simply not afraid to piss people off, just by stating his opinion. I was emailing with someone yesterday about this, and we both agreed that Clay has every right to state his feelings on certain topics, whether we concur with him or not. As a matter of fact, to me it shows me that he has a really hawt brain, you know? Also, I've heard of at least one instance where a person (not a Clay fan) offered to eat their words about things they had said about Clay, because of this interview. They really liked his chutzpah. "Balls of titanium," for sure. Image? I think Clay's image is the LAST thing on his mind, especially when he talks about UNICEF. Again, that's another thing I really, really love about him -- he really just doesn't care what others think of him. As far as his talking about AI goes -- I don't think he has an ax to grind. For what? I think it may just be more of him finally being a bit tired of getting asked about AI, when he'd rather talk about UNICEF, or the BAF, or whatever project he's promoting at the moment. And I really don't think he was criticizing their ENTIRE effort, it was just that they could have done MORE. CG, I hear ya on Kelly too. I personally think that she lives up to her nickname of Yelly once in a while, and I also think that she comes off during interviews as an airhead. But I've never really doubted that Clay likes her, and she him. "An Inconvenient Truth" rocks! ETA: CG, I'll agree with you on the first part of this. We really don't know everything that was said in this interview. It's a problem that happens all the time when he's talking about RCA, right? *g* But the second part, we're gonna have to agree to disagree. I think, if anything, by stating what he did, he CHALLENGED at least a few of "the common people" to think about it a bit more, rather than take things at face value. It's something I have to struggle with all the time as a person who works with community college students -- do we teach to the "lowest common denominator," or do we try to challenge them and hope that a few rise up? I personally believe in the latter, and I get a feeling that Clay does too. Sure, it may lose a bunch of people along the way, but those that "get it" -- boy, the appreciate it later. JMO.
  11. *clears throat to begin Homer Simpson impersonation* Mmmmmmmmmmm....strawberries.......... Seriously...I love my food, and buffet number 3 looks like the best option to me. I also like the fact that non-alcoholic drinks are included in the price -- I want to keep a clear head before the show so that I won't go into a drunken stupor and scream out at Clay during the show "Take it off, stud boy!" (Now, after the show...different story...alcohol is good then...because I'll just be yelling the same thing to the clack being shown, much less harmful...) However, I just need a nibble of sweet after a good dinner, and the strawberries sound very enticing to me. Yum.
  12. Ooooo, forgot about that one. I too have a soft spot for TITN, cheesy lyrics and all. I'll never forget that night, when he did that last "Lift me up," in that soft voice -- the change from power to soft, and then back to power, gave me goosebumps. Just thought of sumptin' -- I'm hoping he does TITN on the tour. I think I'd really love to hear that song with an orchestra backing him. If the arrangement works, that is....I think that will be the key for doing some of his older, MOAM songs with the orchestra. Any ideas on what songs will work best with the strings backing him? MOAM is an obvious choice. I'm still chuckling at the thought of Invisible like this...but I wouldn't put it past him either. Almost forgot this too -- couchie, your theory of him singing LAA as a "challenge" is very interesting. I think the song may be too personal for him...but if he could conceivably try to sing it as a way to open his soul a bit more, I would be so very proud of him. We'll just have to see. Me neither! I'm looking forward to it! I will be in front of the big screen, laptop at the ready! Hey couchie! Don't we need a "birthday" mod? I think muski just volunteered! Mean? Hell no! I think it should be enlightening to them. I loved BeeGees night during AI2 -- thought it was a great night for all 4 contestants, and I still pull out the final four medley from the results night.
  13. Ahem....I forgot about this until this morning, and had to check with a certain someone....because she was shy about certain things... Happy belated birthday Clayzorback! :bday2: BWAH!!! *puts on bling covered boxing gloves* Fight! I thought those were MY songs. Ah...maybe I should take off the gloves...as long as no one attempts to take HYCA from me, I'm cool. Man, I can't remember when I started to notice that...and it drove me nuts too. Kinda like Trenyce keeping time with her fingers on her microphone -- that was actually worse for me. My favorite AI song from Clay? Oh geez...I always have a hard time with question. TLS knocked my socks off; "Tell Her About It" impressed me as well (I thought the change up from slow to fast was quite genius); and I did love MTK as well. But, I think for me, the winner has to be BMUB -- he came out on that stage with "Why don't you..." and OWNED it. He sold that song to me that night. CG, great snark yesterday on TLS...and I love the view on your property! So very pretty! Thanks for posting this couchie...I learned something new because of that link. Very cool. Come any time and I'll make you some! Do you prefer yours with whiskey, bourbon or brandy?? Ooooo, can I have one? And my answer to your last question there: Yes. :all_coholic:
  14. Wheeeee! You will really enjoy it! I couldn't put it down. And if I was anywhere near SF, I'd have been there. I see that several communities are using this books as their "one book, one city" choice -- meaning that the city officials, and frequently the libraries in the area, encourage the entire population of a city to read the book and then discuss it. I'm gonna have to plant that seed into a couple of people's heads around here.... ...and I'm trying to get this book from my library, and all the copies are checked out! AAAAAGH! Maybe I'll ask for a copy of a birthday present.... I won't go quite that far, but I don't think it is the *best song every written and recorded* like I've read elsewhere. I also doubt it would have succeeded on the radio any more than ATD did. I think it's a lovely song, but I'm not holding my breath until he sings it in concert.....because I am not so sure that he will. If he does, cool! I'm with luckiest on this -- I love the song, think it is beautiful. But the greatest song evah? Nah. I personally don't think there is a "greatest song evah." Anyway, I think the main reason that this song got built up in people's minds is because Clay wrote it. By him admitting that, I think some people saw this as a way for Clay to get "street cred" in the music world. Eh, whatevah. I'm hoping he sings LAA (possibly as the encore), but if he doesn't, I'll be cool. It may be too personal of a song for him to sing live night after night.
  15. Yahoo Music: An Idol Who Really Gives Back
  16. Wow -- thanks for bringing that over Jenna. It really heartens me to read the entire interview -- because I now know that I'm in this show for the long haul. I'm probably not going to like some of the answers, but that's OK, because there will at least BE answers!
  17. *grumble, grumble, grumble* But I'll do it, because I really like muski and want to know more details of this Clyra dinner!
  18. Now I just gotta talk to the other admins and find out how to load it to our many, many emoticons.... ETA: Hee! I did it! Thanks couchie! And yay for muski, because it's even part of the emoticons on the side of the reply screen!
  19. Well shoot -- that's only 4 1/2 hours away for me as well! But then, there's that pesky weather thing to worry about. I wish Clay could guarantee good, sunny weather for his birthday celebration, but alas.... Let me think about it.... Looks as if we're going to need a "Clay Christmas Tour 2007" emoticon already! Hee. I love that TC is planning this tour out at practically the same time as the summer tour. Same basic resources (needed: one orchestra), but knowing that in some cities, the orchestras take the summer off -- but they sure don't at Christmas! Hey Team Clay -- Peoria has a great orchestra, and a great place to hold a concert! Talk to me!
  20. I think, for me...the education aspect on WHY these things happen add a layer of resonance to me, and may influence me more than just showing me the problem in the first place. Yes, the awareness aspect was great for IGB, and I'm sure there are people who went to their libraries or the internet to find out more. But for some people, adding that extra layer of why the problem exists when they are talking about the problem itself gives a new and different reason for giving. So, I'm thinking Clay may have mentally skipped a few steps -- IGB provided step one while Clay was already on step 3 or 4. It does sound like IGB did focus on the problems in the US too, and I agree that this is very cool. I firmly believe that the U.S. could do more at home and around the world. However, I kinda took Clay's comments this way (and I know for a fact that these words are totally filtered through my own viewpoint): I sometimes feel that Americans can get a "we're better than you" mentality, and yes, even when it comes to charitable giving. Again, we do have the resources -- but should the US then lord that over other countries? In my mind, every single person on the planet is a HUMAN BEING, first and foremost. Anyway, I just wonder if that is where Clay is coming from in this regard? I also agree that UNICEF will not complain about the money raised, nor should they. I'm glad it was a wildly successful fundraiser. I don't think Clay would disagree with that. Sorry about the political rant here.
  21. This picture cracked me up! Hee! I'm pretty much like this too, but then I thought about the JNT 2005, where I had a box seat with my husband and a good friend plus her husband. It was my only show -- and yet I had a blast. For one thing, we were far enough back to get the ENTIRE proceedings; also, it was fun being fangirly with my friend while our husbands were rolling their eyes in tandem. *g* But for the most part, I think I would try my best to get fairly good seats for at least one show per tour (which I already have this time around, thanks to the wonderfulness known as KAndre), and so I'm not stressing too much yet about Tulsa. Ask me again n two days. Another thing, for me, regarding seats -- I've had front row twice. As much as I loved it, I also feel that there are fans out there that have NEVER had front row, and I feel as if they should at least have a chance at getting those great seats before I pounce again. Selfishness has never been my strong suit. Oh Lord. Great attitude, and I totally agree. As much as many people just KNEW in 2003 that after the Anomaly, they'd still be hearing from Clay...it could have been FAR different. But the idea of that sounds so preposterous now -- because, really, I wouldn't be writing on this message board if that had happened. It's fantastic that Clay is here in our lives, and I truly believe he will be for a long time to come. So, that's a good reason not to stress over tickets as much. I'll get better seats sometime soon, I know it. Hee! Just even thinking about Clay at this HS reunion cracks me up. If nothing else, his biography in the reunion booklet should be a hoot; I think most of us could write it! Yes, it would be great if he showed up with Tyra on his arm, but even if he shows up by himself, just as Clayton, I think the class will be quaking in their boots, waiting for his retaliation. *g* I've never understood this mentality, either. I think though it was simply being spoiled. Clay was EVERYWHERE in 2003 and most of 2004. Suddenly 2005 hit, without the prospect of "seeing" Clay everyday, and more than a few people got very nervous. It never really happened, though, did it? He kept popping up (heh), just not as frequently as before. 2006 was different -- but at the same time, I really figured he had to be working, y'know? The guy likes to keep busy, or it seems that way, anyway. Plus, he does need vacations. Anyway, I've almost always had the "absence makes the heart grow fonder" mentality toward Clay. I love him, but I know that, since he's not my husband *g*, it's good to have a break from him once in a while -- because it makes me appreciate him all the more when he does show up again! Have fun in Denver, muski! Hey geekette!!! :F_05BL17blowkiss: Good luck with your search. I'm sure you know this already, but I'd just be patient for a while -- and lurk at a bunch of other boards plus ebay and TM. Those decent tickets seem to appear unexpectedly for some reason. I agree that getting three could be a problem -- is there a possibility you could buy 4 and then try to sell the fourth? jmh has me pegged! Heh. My routine at night is The Daily Show, followed by one more quick perusal of the boards, and then bed. But at 6:00 a.m., I'm drinking a cup of coffee, eating my cereal, and checking the boards. Awake and alert too! As a farm girl, that's a way of life for me! Karen Eh?, I love your way with words. This whole thing CMSU! Claygasm, do tell. I want to hear about the hissy fit. Yeah, I'd like to hear this one too! Thanks KAndre for the interview! Heh. I guess we know what he thinks about Idol Gives Back now, huh? *shrug* Y'all can stop scrolling now....
  22. I agree -- the show needs a "light at the end of the tunnel," so I think this is a great development.
  23. {{{{{{{{{{{KAndre}}}}}}}}}}}} Sorry to hear about your family's loss. Am I gonna get shot when I say that my weekend was not too bad? Spent Saturday morning at my husband's college, watching the graduation ceremony in the outdoor arena. It was perfect weather for it actually -- overcast and cool. I knew a few of the kids graduating, after spending almost two weeks in Ireland with them. Then, I took my husband out for dinner and a movie, in order to celebrate his promotion. BTW, Spiderman 3 rawks. Loved it. Sunday was my final handbell choir performance at church and then chilling. The only bad thing was being TIRED -- I went to bed before 9:00 p.m. Sunday night!!! muski, I love your family stories. And YAY for the concert and softball schedules working out! I've got Kimmel on my calendar, but it hasn't quite permeated my brain yet that Clay will be on this week! That means Thursday will be an interesting day in Clayland, what with pre-show reports. I'm looking forward to seeing what he'll pull with Jimmy this time!
  24. Oh yuck. *sigh* Everyone answered those questions interestingly, didn't they? Uchenna and Joyce seem to be incredibly well liked.
  25. for merrieee....hope everything works out well, and I'm looking forward to meeting you in Texas. BTW, I actually have to agree with you regarding "missing" so much -- I tend to do that too. Sometimes the details just whoosh over my head, just because I'm too enthralled with Clay.
