I never found YTW preachy either...In its simplest form...to me...it was a song about God (and personally, I don't believe there is a separate Christian God, Jewish God, etc....there is just God) and the belief that He was and is always there when you need Him. If you take away all the external components and Christian components and just focus on the sentiment it is a quite beautiful song that I think anyone of any faith can relate to. Kim

I guess I don't understand fans wanting Clay to change or to be or sing what they feel comfortable with; he has always been open about who he is, what his faith means to him and what kind of songs he prefers to sing...to my way of thinking, if you are not happy with his song or career choices and cannot support them, than don't. But I don't see the point in shouting it from the rooftops, being disappointed and generally throwing tantrums on message boards because you are not getting what you want. Have to admit there are some fans I wish would just move on because they always seem to be unhappy with whatever Clay does. Kim

Thanks so much to all who bring the recaps; I am enjoying them very much, even though I am jealous as all heck that I won't be seeing this show. :F_05BL17blowkiss: I am not listening to anything from CD; want it all to be fresh and new on May 6th...I've only noticed a few people making pre-judgements on the CD from the track list, but it is the usual suspects, so I just roll my eyes and move on. Never have been to a CD release party and probably won't go this time...I would much rather just get the CD and fan girl gush on the boards. I have a feeling there will be a lot of analyzing of every song to see how it relates to Clay's life and what it means and that just gets a little to intrusive to me! How cool that Eric Idle was there last night! This has been such a wonderful gig for Clay and while I am looking forward to the new CD, I am also going to be sad that this will be ending! Oh, I did see the track list and "I Draw The Line"...I keep hearing Johnny's Cash's "I Walk The Line" in my head...I am guessing they are not the same, LOL! Kim

Good Morning Everyone, Did not have the best week-end; found out Saturday that my mother's younger sister passed away; she had been ill for sometime, so it was not a surprise. Talked to my cousin in Arizona for about an hour Saturday night just reminicising. Also had to take our bunny, Fluffy to the vet on Saturday because he was having some stomach issues and unfortunately, he died Sunday Morning. Not the best time to have your bunny pass away on Easter. So it was a rather somber day, cleaning out the cage, etc. On the upside, my daughter stopped by yesterday and dropped off her dog for a visit which is always fun for us, although Cinnamon is not to happy since the dog upsets her routine. You mean like we've seen cindilu do whenever someone comments about her posts critisizing someone she feels is critisizing Clay? Then she makes a pity me post and leaves the board in a snit for a few days? I own my posts and mean what I say and don't regret anything I have said. I also don't feel that I need to defend my opinion, on my own recap, of my own experience seeing Spamalot. It is what it is. Why not just ignore a post you have a problem with? Perhaps it is more fun to make someone feel less than a fan, for not falling all over themselves. I don't believe I was trying to make you feel less of a fan; your feelings are your feelings, but I and anyone else on the board has a right to respond to them. And I do ignore many posts when I feel responding to them would be counterproductive. If your post was meant to be snark, than I apologize; I guess not being able to see Spamalot bothers me much more than I thought it would and I have a very hard time with fans complaining when they have been very lucky to see this show. Not Cindilu but you know; when you post on a message board you have to assume the risk that someone is not going to like what you say especially if it can be interpreted as controversial...and there will be discussion. That is what we do, there is give and take...If you are not willing to own your posts and be willing to discuss your position, than you shouldn't post. I know myself, that I have posted many things that are disagreed with and I am sure I have incurred my share of eye-rolls, etc....but when I post, I mean what I say and yes, there are times when I have regretted posting something (and this maybe one of them, LOL!); but I think if you feel strongly about something you should respond to it and I usually do. More and more, cruising the boards, I see this happen, someone posts something; someone else has a problem with it and makes a comment and the original poster gets in a snit. I don't get that...why post something you know some are going to have a problem with and then get mad when they do? Sorry for such a heavy post on a Holiday week-end... Kim

I am sorry for those who don't get to see Clay at the stagedoor, but at least you got to go to NYC and see the show, some of us won't be seeing the show or the stagedoor (living vicariously through stagedoor videos)...still..there is the Summer Tour to look forward too. Kim

(July1) Everyone have a great day, I have a lot of Easter baking to do...I always make the traditional Italian egg bread...bread shaped into a basket with hard-boiled eggs in it. I make small ones for the kids and a larger one for us. Always make them on Saturday and that is breakfast on Easter Morning.
