I think Clay was very proud of the work he did on ATDW but I also think he was ready to move on to the next thing as soon as the promotion was over...I noticed that as soon as he was done with Kimmel, etc. he started letting his grow out and I have always thought that the long mane of the 2006 JNT was sort of his declaration of independence from the turmoil of ATDW and all the other stuff of 2006...just Clay going back to being himself and not some stylized popstar. You know, Kim, I'd LOVE to think this is true...but I think he's just funning with us....I know it seems weird that I of all people would hesitate to agree that he DOES indeed proudly acknowledge and flaunt his...er....prominent...er....physical assets. But I don't think he's saying or doing anything that's meant to insinuate that he does. I mean....for the most part, I think he's just making reference to his wild dancing style that causes him to need more space to...er....work. Regardless, it makes for fine fantasy fodder to think that your assessment is true. Need I remind you of a certain jeans picture from this summer that left nothing to the imagination; I can't imagine him going out on stage in those 5 years ago...course, it could also mean that he was just being stubborn and didn't want to go out and spend money on new jeans. Finally was able to watch the "crotch" video; cracks me up how open his about his attributes, when 5 years ago the man couldn't pull his shirt down far enough and made sure to adjust that tie oh so perfectly when he sat on a stool! Kim

Well, I finally was able to watch the whole interview (with just a little buffering) and loved it. What really struck me is how the songs are such a mix...not one "musical direction"; just songs that Clay loves and wants to sing. The constant need of some fans to have Clay define his musical direction always had me rolling my eyes and I was very happy to see that he addressed that question in his own way. I think this CD really is going to be his answer to all his critics, fan and otherwise. Kim

Loved the interview! Love that there is going to be an R & B song (even though I am probably the only one in the fandom that doesn't like Clay's version of If You Don't Know Me By Now...I tried, I really did!) I am so excited for this CD...sounds like Clay is getting exactly what he wants on it and I love this new Producer! Kim

Believe me, I am not all that pure...first night of any tour, I am plopped down in front of the computer listening to the cellcert, but a CD is just different to me. And I did download the WRAL clips because that is information that Clay is giving us...I know he can't keep everything secret; just wish the fandom could be a little more patient...I know...Clayfan and patience...total oxymoren. Thing is, I like surprises...and I am just hoping there are still some surprises left on May 6th when I have that CD in my hot little hands, but I am not counting on it and that kind of makes me sad. I guess the only way to avoid knowing anything is to stay off the boards completely and I just don't have that kind of willpower. Kim
