  1. Just that it is cute, and Reed chooses which comments to display, is all. Not a big deal, just a pleasantry. Hee! Might not mean a thing, but it sure brought a big-ass grin to my face! Thanks! Ditto with the grin and an awwww..... I find Jim hysterical no matter what routine it is. My favorite line in that clip... Pillow jokes? Really? He's doing pillow jokes? I didn't realize he was going to be so "edgy" .... My point exactly. At one point in his career he WAS told he should "edge" it up and start using more raw language, drop a few f-bombs here and there. He refused. Just cuz. Love him. And yes, I know he and Conan are great friends. Conan could take some lessons, IMO. --- *swoon* I love that new UM clip. And I'm also loving Clay's latest answers on the OFC. OMG. How can he say he sucks at Math? Thanks to whoever posted that link to the "Bacon " clip. I had heard of Jim Gaffigan but did not really "get" him. I now have him on my list of YT clips to look at when time allows. I love the bolded part above. Good for him that he is who he is and plans to just be that way .(sounds a bit like someone else....) I admire comedians who can "keep it clean" and also not belittle other specific celebs. Although, there are some who work "blue" who are still v.v. funny but not meanspirited. Love Amtrak ! Our travel agent recommended we do a few legs of our trip last year by train and it was a great idea. The trip from Washington to NY was great and probably took the same or less time than flying when you add up all the waiting time at the airports and the trip from the airport into our hotel etc plus we got to see some of the countryside.
  2. I agree Claytonic. Its funny , I was watching a documentary a week or so ago about a comedians' rise to fame and at one stage he had a makeover and he said words to the effect of: "In my work I am asking people to look at me and I know I prefer looking at people who, if not hot-looking, are at least intriguing to look at." I can totally understand this. I have heard of people having a tummy-tuck at the same time as a c-section. I don't know if it's true but I sure wish I had thought to ask!
  3. {{{ldyj}}} You are in my thoughts. Good news for your son Luckiest, congratulations. Happy Birthday Preden!! I just went and checked my Spam shirt Couchie and it is the same as you described but with only one logo on one sleeve. My DH got the same one and we have both had questions whenever we have worn them. I don't wear mine out much but tend to put it on at the end of a hard work day. It brings back such good memories and the quote is uplifting. (Just reread and yes, I am such a nerd. In aussie slang -a dag)
  4. Hey! something Clay and I (and DH & Boys) have in common! And the largest proportion of the rest of the population too apparently! I really don't think "they" would knock back anyone who would benefit them. You said it so much better djs Swine Flu- I have been watching the news too Couchie and am very interested to hear how things are going in California. My sister and family are heading over at the end of May. Wait and see how things pan out I guess . We have 31 suspected cases in my state but none confirmed.
  5. Well at least if he was naked then noone could complain about his clothes. Of course thats the only reason we I would like to see this, to spare him the fashion police critique............ Funny you should mention Muski, I was just thinking today that she hadn't been on in a while. I was planning to ask you if she is ok - I take it that she is?
  6. Can you imagine the heads exploding!??? Actually...if the song could be "butched up" a bit..... could be iiinteresting............
  7. Me too!!!! I saw it on Broadway on one of my rare "nights off" ie without children and DH and while I thought it was OK, I wasn't blown away by it. I was in the mood to enjoy anything, being out on the town by myself in NY freaking City and seeing shows on Broadway. It was along-held dream of mine so I should have loved it yet I found myself thinking that I wished I had Given Spam another go.... Always Couchie, always You are indeed a woman of discernment Wanda. ITA jamar. Sometimes a movie will hit a bit too close to home about some worry in RL and then every time that movie is seen or mentioned it brings it all back up again. Or if a song is played constantly when I am going through a rough patch it reminds me and then I dislike that song. Generally ( barring the above examples) I love musicals and romantic comedies. I love live performances and am planning to get back to NYC. Sometime, hopefully before age 90. At this stage it is looking like a retirement trip. Totally OT : Does anyone want a guinea pig? Seems the darling little one month old I got for the kids a couple of months ago was up the duff! :o Total surprise for us all. Yesterday went out to the cage and there were the littluns. I think this makes me a granny? :o Seriously....I could just pop one in a post bag.....anyone?..........
  8. I ditto Wandas thoughts Aikim It's been an interesting week in Clay land - well as good as it could be without tours/ appearances. I have just caught up since we went away over Easter to Sabah ( in Malaysian Borneo). It was a last minute decision since our planned visitors had to cancel. Had a lovely time - the boys are at a good age for travelling, 11 & 14. We saw orangutans and other monkeys, toured around and spent some time being waited on around the hotel pool. My kind of holiday! My computer is on a go slow til the end of the month so I can't wait to get all the clack of ANTM etc! Hugs to all the sick and /or poison plant affected!!
  9. {{{Scarlett}}} You were missed. "I am from the Land down under. Where women glow and men thunder" - It's just that with all this glowing I haven't had time to learn all them fancy-pancy french food terms. And we had to be careful in the states & Canada because even though we thought we were speaking plain English some of the people we spoke to didn't agree. A couple of times I ended up putting on my best American or English accent in order to be understood. And don't get me started on the difficulty of getting coffee how I like it............. My mom & I were just talking, over the weekend, about it being almost a year since our Spam-a-venture. I still remember all of us standing around in Shubert Alley, well after the stage door, finally looking at each other, and deciding we might as well ask each other if we were the people we were looking for! Good memories Anna! I would Iwould!
  10. Ah, that reminds me...does anyone own one of those hand-held steam irons? You know, the one you use to smooth out wrinkles on clothes on a hanger, and can be used to iron sheets directly on the bed, curtains that are hanging. Can also be used to sterilize and steam-clean clothes you would normally send to the dry cleaners. I am about to buy one but just don't want to end up with another unused electric appliance. Hey Claytonic let us know what its like if you do get one. I have watched those adds and often thought it looks good. But then again I am a sucker for those things on infomercials. I once ordered a mop for $60. I can't believe I paid so much for a really crappy ordinary mop that turned my hands black every time I picked it up! I restrain myself nowadays! I had not heard that term when I went to Juniors last year. Ausdon: "Could I have ice cream with my apple pie please?" Juniors waiter: "One apple pie a la mode" Ausdon: "Oh no I would just like apple pie with ice cream" Juniors waiter: ( suppressing a smile and talking realllly slooow) Yes, that is a la mode. Ausdon: " Oh OK!" Juniors waiter: (fakes smile and thinks "stupid foreigners!) BTW: On the 2nd April it was exactly 12 months since we started our excellent American adventure.
  11. Something about the face as well, sort of the ..flatness of it? doesn't look like him.
  12. OK, I feel like speculating... I speculate a TV offer that's too enticing to refuse because it's likely to be in LA ... which is Jaymes' home and where Parker lives when he's not in Raleigh. Besides, that's been my Clay dream, for him to be on a weekly show on TV ... although a one-off TV special wouldn't be sneezed at either. But I would like a TV series, peleeeze!! Yes for sure...I think it would be an insult to have him play a gay character simply because a talented actor of his caliber would be asked to play something that has nothing to do with his own persona. When I watched Dustin Hoffman in Rain Man, I was so lost in the character, I wasn't distracted by the fact that, oh, he's not really a savant, he's just pretending for the movie. But I truly hope they give him something to do that we have never seen before and that in the process, he gets a whole bunch of new clayfans who BECAME fans for the right reasons and aren't going to leave the fandom if they find out later that he's with the minority group that doesn't like avocado... or sumthin' ITA Clazy & Claytonic! A hosting gig (ala Jimmy Kimmel or Jay Leno) would be great because he wouldn't have to follow a script and his quick wit could be given full rein... OTOH.... he could polish up and showcase his acting skills with a supporting or recurring role on a series, making his versatility more widely known, and allowing him time for musical and family commitments. I don't know why he would employ any managers etc to advise him, he could just ask us! I myself am sounding like a know-it-all an expert today!! ETA: OH NO!! HE doesn't like avocado? .....Well, I spose I can forgive him that ...as long as we can still share our love of pecans & walnuts........
  13. Thanks for the update on Tom Deckman, one of my new faves...
  14. Ahhh, Bottle is this because its April 1? Or is there some new scandal/ fight/ brewhaha broohahaha thing? I hates spiders....... ...please don't send any logs to me........ bwah I have to say that I am absolutely disgusted that Clay fans are still out there duking it out in his honor all over the internet. I guess there will always be something the poor baby needs protection from. Don't know why I am even the least bit surprised but I am. OK Couchie what is it this time? Its raining and raining and raining here. I just got home from work after being stuck on the highway because of a nasty head on accident. I don't know how a car came to be travelling the wrong way down a major highway...
  15. good insight Jamar especially about the persecution complex. Me thinks Clay is about to be pinched You read my mind Tribeca! Welcome beryl! Have you introduced yourself/ told your "How I discovered Clay" story on the newbie thread? I love to hear those stories and a little about who I am "chatting "with.
  16. He is looking veeerrry smooth. Except for the puffiness which could be partly because of the angle the photo was taken. Love the suit and hairdo!
  17. Lovely post Merrieee .... but how did you read my thoughts before I'd even thunk 'em? Your post made me smile Bottle, for two reasons: 1. It was funny 2. In Aus we have/had a childrens TV show called "Bananas in Pyjamas". The names of said bananas are , yep, "B1" and "B2"! I will leave it to the smut-mistresses to make of that what they will (so well!).
  18. Kareneh said: Ditto - I doo love TV! I loved them because of their unredeeming qualities. So un-PC! - I think thats another thing I like about Clay - his occassional un-PC-ness. 2. Frasier -A classic that I'm happy to watch again and again. As someone else mentioned, so well cast. I love DHP and his "slapstick" scenes were hilarious. 3. Criminal Minds - just to put a current one in (and celebrate the cute nerds!) Are you off to Denmark soon Kareneh?
  19. Throw those glasses on over here Perma! - It does seem a good sign doesn't it. Hey justclay thats a good topic for our ongoing board surveys! "What I used to be" I used to be many many many pounds lighter! Also a shop assistant and a (v.v. bad) netball player. ETA: Go Couchie. Seems like a good foot in the door.
