  1. WORD to your very wise daughter Bella. This statement applies to Clay and his fans. :F_05BL17blowkiss: IIT , I have no problem with it , its just none of my business, and it changes nothing for me. I hate that PH leaked this cover IIT.
  2. Happy Birthday Aikim! . Could this also be part 2 of the promotion for the cd? Please let it be happy, happy. I don't ever want to see that look on Clay's face like in the 2006 interview, which I haven't watched since. Edited many times to get the facts right. Hmmm... I think I feel a *cough*cold*cough* coming on later this week... at least for a couple hours on Thurs. & Fri. morning... *achoo* *sniff* . Could this also be part 2 of the promotion for the cd? I just read your post and I think I may have caught the *cough*cold*cough* from you. I can probably manage to work for the next two days. But gosh, by Thursday I just may be too ill. Yeah you guys do look a bit pale. There are some bad things going around. I hear they take a couple of days to take hold and then you really neeeeed to stay in bed for a couple of days. OUCH Cotton! Quite often after forehead injuries/surgery you can have a black eye a day or two later. So thats something to look forward to!
  3. Menopause Jewelry My husband, being unhappy with my mood swings, bought me a mood ring the other day so he would be able to monitor my moods. We've discovered that when I'm in a good mood, it turns green. When I'm in a bad mood, it leaves a big frickin red mark on his forehead. Maybe next time he'll buy me a diamond. Dumb ass.
  4. Good luck to gbmifan & aikim! Congratulations merieeee. 39 years sure is something to be proud of. Coincidentally ( maybe subconsciously) I wore my Spamalot tshirt to bed last night. So I am sitting here wearing it & wishing you all in NYC a fantastic time and wishing for Clay a truly "triumphant return." :F_05BL17blowkiss: If I win lotto tonight I wonder how long it would take me to be standing in Schubert Alley? spam loverly spaaaam....... find your grail... fiind yoouurrr graaaaaaiill.....hic.... ETA: He blogged while I was posting? sniffle.... can't read it but still.....sniffle......
  5. Thanks Lotus for the Litres/gallons info. Bottle that two days picture was gorgeous! So clear!
  6. I filled up today because it's Tuesday, and that's when petrol (gas) is cheapest for the week here. So... Today,. I paid 138.9 per litre. Yesterday it was 147.9. And tomorrow it will probably back up to over 145.9 per litre. I can't wait for solar-powered cars to be widely available and partially fueled (as a backup) by another renewable resource that won't impact on our environment and won't have us chopped at the knees in terms of our reliance on oil producing nations. How many litres to a gallon? Good to hear everyone is ok.
  7. ITA Couchie! I learn so much about topics I would never even think to ask about! YAY Anna! :nana: Stopped digging out from my muddy basement to say "woo hoo" to annabear. A little bit of hope in the midst of your no power situation. The water receded on its own! At least, I didn't have to hire an extraction company. I'm surprised by that as so much stuff was floating around that I thought the two drains were blocked, but gravity must have worked. Tomorrow, I will find out how the furnace and water heater fared underwater. The next day, the washer/dryer/freezer. I don't have much hope for the later trio. I would love to have my washer so I could clean all the flood soaked laundry. I "had" (don't know if past tense is appropriate yet) a 15 year old Maytag washer. Never needed a single repair. I'm going to hate to lose it. Hope I can get hot water tomorrow, I miss the dishwasher and showers. Thanks for the sump pump advice. That's on my "to do" list too. Too bad about your washer Jazzgirl. I had a fridge for 20 years and very rarely some minor thing would need fixing and my repairman kept telling me to not replace it ( Or my old washer) because they just don't make 'em that sturdy anymore. Sadly they both gave up in the last 18 months. Fingers crossed for you! I see lots of different opinions on this board, and lots of different women who are encouraged to express them. No guarantee that anyone will agree or disagree, or even care one way or the other on any particular topic, which is what makes interesting reading. Babies: I love the baby stage because they are so portable. I know I missed that when trying to wrangle a cheeky stubbourn defiant uncooperative high spirited, intelligent, highly verbal, & goal orientated toddler !
  8. Thanks Play (and Liney)! We don't have basements and I always wondered why some areas needed them.
  9. Hee djs111 This reminds me of when I was a kid one of our neighbours (teen) used to play "video killed the radio star" and "born to be alive" at full blast through his open bedroom window but only in the daytime thank goodness. I think they were the only two songs he owned! I immediately remember him if ever I hear those songs.
  10. :arg-dancing-welcome-whitebg-url to all newbies
  11. Thank you all for the lovely Birthday wishes :F_05BL17blowkiss: I had a really lovely day. DH and boys took me to my favourite surf club for lunch, it is the best time of year weather -wise, hardly a cloud in the sky, bright blue and sunny but not hot yet. There were a few surfers braving the really big waves, so that was some entertainment, though it would be my worst nightmare! That picture from Hannah? Wow!
  12. Hey Chacha doesn't "the Front Fell Off" sound like its a bit too close to real life? I spose thats the secret to good comedy! Its like this show we have here called "Kath & Kim", an American version is in the works apparently. I saw an interview with the two women who write & star in it where they were saying they thought it was succesful because everyone thinks "Oh she's just like my neighbour/friend /sister" but nobody ever thinks its about them.
  13. Add me to the list of those trying to maybe , sort of, do something about the excessive cuddliness of my personage at the moment....... it's either do something or appear in public , go to work etc in my dressing gown since it's the only thing which fits comfortably at the moment.
  14. ETA: I know it's a scintillating post ,but you all probably don't need it twice.....
  15. Hey Chach! I had forgotten about that. Thanks for reminding me of a fun day! Actually I intend buying DH a gps for his birthday in Nov- In his new job he has to drive all over and he keeps getting lost! Happy Birthday Merieeee Brought tears to my eyes. {{{Muski and family}}} Well I'm off now to pick up my costume for a fancy dress party this weekend- I'm going as "Dorothy" from the "Wizard of OZ"- not too sure about it though. The dress shows my knees and I'd rather keep them covered! If I can't find something better I'll just have to "sell it like crazy" - you know......"Oh of course I love costume parties!" " I am such a Zany extrovert that I adore costumes with Shortish skirts and an eyeful of cleavage!!"..... Umm... think I can convince myself?
  16. :3: :3: Cha Cha I use L'Oreal Castings. Maybe this is the same thing? You leave it on for 30 mins and its supposed to last for 20 washes. It blends the grey ( or "silvers" as my hairdresser nicely puts it) OK but mine are still fairly spread out. Oh Anna just imagine the embarassment if you had called 911! Reminds me of a time when my sister and I were at home by ourselves (late teens) and the wind blew a little plastic ornament off the window sill to bounce on the sink and then down to the floor. We drew straws to see who would go investigate first, with the other one clutching at her back. We laughed hysterically for quite a while after, I can tell you!!
  17. Hey Kareneh, I have been having problems with IE for a few weeks now. I have to keep uninstalling it then it works for a while and then goes again.... You mentioned Dr Watson, what is this? I hadn't heard of it until my recent troubles and wondered if that was the cause. I have an external drive but haven't got it out of the box yet . eek That's right as usual the Ho Ho's don't get any respect! HeeeHee.. Cake Songs... :lmaosmiley-1: I'd heard of them being mentioned OFTEN but never knew what they were... the same way I'd heard about Oreos for years (from watching American TV) but didn't know what they were until a few years ago when they hit the market here. ausdon, did YOU know what Twinkies were? We do have similar miniature cake products here but I don't like them much because sugar seems to be the main ingredient! If I am going to eat sugar, I'd rather eat it in something else that I am already addicted to! I avoid Coke but IF I have a treat, I will only drink the Real Thing with 12 (?) teaspoons of sugar rather than that awful tasting artificial sweeter. Yes Claytonic I did know what twinkies were and I had heard of the twinkie defense (I have no life)! I also am not too keen on those cakes, I think of all the preservatives and hundreds of ingredients that sound like they belong in a lab and not on my plate! Not that I don't enjoy the rare one (or 12). I'm with you on the coke, I figure if I'm going to have it I'll take my chances with natural sugar rather than some chemical, the long term effects of which are yet be fully realised. Clay content? I am sure he likes Twinkies.......
  18. ITA KIM! Worst thing is most men also look great in a tux, that whole suave thing. My hubby will often comb his hair and use the electric razor at the traffic lights too!!! If you are worried about your shoes have you tried "Happy Feet"? I don't know what the name might be in the USA but Dr Scholls makes a whole range of silicon pads you can put in your shoes. I use the ones that stick in your shoe under the ball of your foot and provide much cushioning and also stop your foot from sliding forward. (Often a problem when you put panty hose on ) I find these a great help. Sounds yummy Wanda! Is all Indian food very spicy? There is an Indian restuarant near my home and I have been wanting to go there but we are not big on chillis etc. Good Luck to anyone in the path of Gustav!! :F_05BL17blowkiss: Favourite(only) time seeing Clay? Easy- SPamloverlySpam!! No stage doors, no Hannah, but still gives me that ICG!! When will I win Lotto? Welcome to the Newbies! Many Thanks NCRocks, I love hearing about these sightings. It sort of puts my mind at rest, that he is out there not being hassled or chased by Paparazzi, just enjoying some time with family and friends. {{{ChaCha and hard drive}}}
  19. Hello FCAers!! :F_05BL17blowkiss: I have been off the board for a while and I've missed you all!! My computer wouldnt let me do web searches or get to pages linked from "favourites" so after much scanning for spyware/viruses and fruitless conversations with ISP someone suggested it might be Internet Explorer. I have switched to another browser and YAY! Problem not fixed yet but at least we are back on line. Now off to catch up! XXX
  20. Scarlett said, WORD :F_05BL17blowkiss: I also feel happy, except for the part where I can't think of a good enough reason to go back to NYC, well one that will convince hubby!
  21. Wanda I hope you typed this with an OUTRAGEOUS french accent!!!! (Well, thats how it sounded in my head....) Wow Djs, I didn't even think anyone would be interested in my birthday party entertainment...........
