  1. Luckiest did you ever find out about house? In case you didn't, the priest had some genetic condition (Whistler something?) and the boy came in and apologised. The priest had this revelation about all the coincidences that led him to House and his faith was restored. Voila! The End.
  2. I figured it was an accepted adjective in the US to describe a good looking guy. I just rarely hear it used here in relation to guys but I am sure it happens because if it's heard on American TV programs that are shown here it will be copied by someone. I don't watch enough TV to have heard it being used, at least not in recent memory. I just remember the reaction I got but that was long ago, and I've just never used it again unless I am talking about animal or human babies! Every time I see it used here, which is quite often... I always remember back to that day. It's no big deal, I just can't shake the memory of it though. When I see a hot pic of Clay, my reaction is "what a spunk!" ETA: canfly NNHB? I know I am late to the party again. I've used "cute" and heard it used. I guess it depends on the guy,I have never found the "macho" guys attractive. Hee, exactly! Thread title? Well yes, it seems to have been in usage with a different meaning but not by me. My mother heard me say it in my early teens, nearly fell over, explained the meaning and forbid me to say it again. I still can't bring myself to use it :28: ........and that was ten years ago!............. :laught31: :laught31: I am with you all on the hugebucketofsaltBMGinsider. One thing that struck me though was about the 6 month "gag order". Does anyone else think that this might have a grain of truth? Maybe something like this written into the initial contract? Like when people sell a business and agree to not open up in competition in the area or within a certain time frame.
  3. Welcome Newbies & ex-lurkers! {{Clayzy}} - better days ahead. Umm... not very chatty lately, work is busy, I used up all my words there.
  4. I was just thinking the same thing Tribeca. Some people, especially older ones, don't know the "PC" terms but still have good intentions . The tricky thing is how can you tell if you don't really know the person? If you know the person well you can have a better idea of what's in their heart. I love this one Anna!
  5. Seems like everything is bad for our health! I was about to say "except vegetables" but then I remembered that just tonight I was looking on a web site about reactions that some people have to both natural and "unnatural foods, including some veg!
  6. Hey Scarlett I'm still here. I keep checking in. My kids have been sick the last two days so no work for me. Of course if I am to do anything on my bucket list that will have to change! Canada & the USA ( the west coasts of both), all the Scandinavian countries, more time in Italy ,Spain, France,& New York... I have always had seriously itchy feet! I will have to do like Anna and win lotto. ETA: Oh, and maybe a concert or two in a far flung land....Anybody know of any cute and talented and entertaining performers?
  7. My sister and I were just talking about this list the other day . She calls it her "travel bucket list". Hers had Italy on it and mine featured a lot of Canada. How about everyone else?
  8. And I am absolutely going to try this, since two people in my home play WOW all the time, and this may make things faster for them (I am directly connected to FIOS, they are not) I am also v. bad about birthdays, so happy birthday in perpetuity to all! This is similar to what they do for mobile cell phone batteries that will no longer take/hold a full charge. My parents have an older style phone that they really like and you just can't get new batteries any more. They saw a sign in a shop saying they would "re-condition your old phone batteries" (or some similar phrase). After chatting with the girl at the counter for a while she let slip that all they do is put them in the freezer for a few days. Bet her boss wasn't happy! All you do is wrap up well in plastic and pop them in for a few days and yes, it does work. Very exciting KarenEh! No more Baku? I saw flights from Philadelphia to Europe for under $300 - US Air. I can't go in early May, however, as I'll be in the Carribbean. On the beach. Under a thatched hut. In the lazy river. Anywhere that takes no effort. Have fun, though! Ducky I am sooo jealous!
  9. no clue what that means sorry Hee, Houston, we have a problem! Streaming = using the left mouse button to click on something and just watch it once Downloading = using the right mouse button to click on something and save it to your computer On Youtube, you are streaming the video. If you click on a link to the Clackunlimited vault, you do not want to stream. You need to right click on the file, and choose "save as" so that it downloads to a particular folder on your computer. Then, you can play it from that folder as many times as you want. If you don't want it anymore, you can always delete it later. Hey thanks for this I didn,t know this either.
  10. I had to switch to TAR because somehow when I hooked my tv system back up after the big moving furniture all around thang I only have one satellite line -- so I can't tape one channel while watching another and I"m too lazy to go into another room. But I was enjoying it. It feels lean and mean. BTW, written qualification tests will be in everybody's inbox by morning! OMG OMG!! Panic Panic Panic Will it be only on Clay Knowledge ? Or general Knowledge... err generally? Ausdon paces around frantically QUICK ..was the Battle of Hastings in 1066? Or was that the signing of the Magna Carta? What are the names of the inert gases? What was Pythagorus again? A Snake? A man? What was Clays Imaginary friends name at the age of Five?Does he like Peanut butter or will it kill him ? Was that an epipen in his pocket? Rant discontinued due to brain overload....
  11. Thanks to all for the pet rodent info and stories. I am not sure I know what I am letting myself in for, I will keep you posted. Funny you should mention that, because that has struck me as one of Clay's weaknesses. I'll never forget reading in LTS where he became a vegetarian for TWO YEARS even thought he liked meat, just to "show" his mother. I am also a stubborn person and i know how it feels to dig in my heels and not budge but I have had to learn to compromise, it's been a life-long work in progress on my part. This reminds me of the time my son declared he was a vegetarian because he didn't like the meat I had served him. Me: "Thats OK, you can just eat the veggies, many vegetarians survive all their lives on veggies" DS: (shocked to his very core) " You mean they only eat vegetables!!! Me:" Well..what did you think they ate?......" Diet Coke, meet monitor. BWAH!!! I'm right there with ya, Fear. Empty headed, and loving it. annabear: Amen sistah. See: my siggie. Always and forever, baby. ITA! It has taken me ages to catch up, guess I'm one of the not-smart! (probably also stubborn and lazy at times ) Actually, I'm watching the Oscars. Nice of them to have it on my day off. Did you get a load of that tribute to musicals! I would sooo love to see that live! I love musicals and of course anything with Hugh Jackman!
  12. Well, to keep the "G" alliteration, you could call him "Guy", or if he's French "Gee" *g*. Actually, I'm thinking of naming him Gnocchi (nyō'kē, nyŏk'ē)... it's an Italian potato dumpling. Insomnia-inspired naming! I'm Italian, it's a "g" name even though the g is silent, and it has a bit of an Asian sound to the pronunciation, which is fitting since he's a Chinese Crested Powderpuff. I like it! Never really liked gnocchi or maybe I just haven't had a good dish of it...I am half-Italian, btw. Your new puppy is adorable and I think that would be a cute name! Kim Cute Pup Anna! I made some gnocchi once and a heavier soggier blander dish was never had! I must try them at a restaurant sometime to see how far off the track mine were. Speaking of gerbils..(what are they anyway? ..a bit like a rat?) ....my DS1 has nearly talked me into letting him get a guinea pig. I am not a pet person but a bit of a soft touch to the kids, apparently.
  13. You CMSU KAndre! Complaints about other people? I think you can add gossip in here- not bad/nasty stuff but the kind thats ridiculous, harmless and about someone you don't know. Like your friends workmates or their clients sisters or something. Even though I consider myself not a gossip..... Yeah! Do share! In the absence of any actual news or clack.........
  14. Ok that's it, that's the straw...I am outta here. I just can't take it any more!!!! Merrieeee, calm down. You know that Clive made him do it...........
  15. Thanks Anna and Muski. The weird thing is that 60% of my own state is under water with floods and my cyclones expected. There is one poem I remember from my schooldays about Aus. It has a line about "droughts and flooding rains" - quite apt about now. The death toll keeps going up- 130 now... Damned straight! (heh)....but I imagine the price of titanium would...er...rise since every male would rush to coat their own pitiful balls with 'Eau d' Aiken'..... Oh the images this brings to mind.....
  16. I haven't caught up yet but thought I would pop in briefly to update on the fires. So far 108 confirmed dead. Every time I turn on the TV its gone up by another 50 or so. Many still missing. The worst natural disaster in modern history in Australia. The rescue services from all around the country have scrambled to help. Much of the fire fighting was done by volunteers ( the CFA- Country Firefighters Association(?). On the TV are people who can't get into the areas where their families are, or might be, still alive .They just don't know. There are still active fire fronts. Lightening strikes are starting more fires. Some of them have been deliberately lit. Bastards. People are describing huge firestorms sweeping through with the gale force winds. Faster than people can drive away and coming from all sides. If you're inclined to pray, now would be a good time.
  17. I was trying to think of this one! How about "I cant fight this feeling" by REO Speedwagon? (The fact that it's on my " listen to while on the computer" playlist for the last few months is mere research 'cos I psychically knew someone would ask for lovely cheesy songs!)
  18. What would Clay's be? Hair of course! Have to add my extra hugs for {{{{jmh and family}}}} I am still catching up on yesterday's posts. OT - Hey Aussies!!! It's summer down there right??? I heard it was Does this sight look familiar??? (I think this was taken in Melbourne) Yep ChaCha this is how I have felt several times lately!
  19. Lovely to hear your news Luckiest. Congrats to you both.
  20. Only one hour a day Lotus? Good luck with that one! Your comment about Clays' dating life is food for thought. I think you might have something there. Maybe it really is like Clay has just started dating in a "grown-up" way. By "grown up" I mean out in the open for anyone to see, not like a secret crush. Of course I expect that he has dated and had previous relationships but the need for secrecy must have been stifling. So maybe he and Reed are really serious or maybe not. I know that I am glad not to be with any of my first few boyfriends!
