  1. Thanks for passing on that message from Clay Bottle. Its cool how he keeps tabs on little old FCA and then contacts his fave babes just to say hi.
  2. ITA on the banner Cindilu and also on the Spaminostalgia Bottle.
  3. HAPPY NEW YEAR FCA May your 2010 be filled with health ,happiness, concerts & new music.
  4. This reminds me Lotus of my first (and last ) attempt at making a pav at school. I obviously overbeat the egg whites and it turned out like a big white pancake! I like to make most things from scratch but pavlovas are one of those things that I leave to the "experts", along with custard (haven't got the knack) and pastry (hot hands). What are some of those "best left to the experts" items for my fellow FCAers?
  5. Yum Lotus! It is our tradition to have a pavlova for dessert. This year I bought a massive one and only used half so the rest is out there in the cupboard, calling to me - I must be strong I must be strong I must be strong................... We are nearly at the end of Boxing day. We braved the sales and picked up a few bargains, saved about $400 on much needed work clothes for DH and myself, so probably worth the aggravation. I must be getting too old and crotchety since I would mostly prefer to be anywhere else but in the throngs, searching for parking etc! Then at the end we rewarded the kids with a visit to the chocolate cafe. Tomorrow is absolutely strict strict diet day. Maybe. Hope everyone had a lovely Christmas with their loved ones and that the New Year brings lots of good things including music from a certain somebody. PS: Very hot and humid here-around 30C most days- and our southern rellies are facing "extreme catastrophic fire danger" ( a new classification in response to the "Black Saturday" fires earlier this year)
  6. Helloooo FCA! I haven't been here in a little while and won't be for a while yet. First computer problems and now a bulging spinal disc have been keeping me away. Doc and physio both say that sitting is not my friend at the moment so I am lying flat out and taking some strong pain killers ( hooray !) and getting bored to tears! Hopefully the exercises and rest will have me right in no time and by then there will be exciting juicy clack to drool over view with polite, restrained admiration. Hope you are all doing well, happy Thanksgiving, happy birthday, merry Christmas. PS: Couchie, I have not forgotten, just been delayed. XX
  7. Good luck Couchie! I used to be with a temp agency and I like the variety and also not having to work with the same people every day.
  8. :04: :04: Happy Birthday Kareneh :04: :04:
  9. Happy Birthday Canfly! :04: Hello FCAers!
  10. Or...........you could forget about it and see if Clay notices!! Orrrr...you could start a trend and see if Clay follows- him being such a fashion plate and all..........
  11. Thanks LadyJ! This has been fun!
  12. {{{ Luckiest & Family}}}
  13. Which parts? I wouldn't ask but if there is a DVD of Clays parts then it would only be polite to see it......... Thanks for all the well wishes on our freaky dust storm. We were out driving around looking at display homes but I saw on the news some people were jogging. I would have missed my jog yesterday thats for sure! Of course, I am a slug and would take any excuse!! I will attempt to post my blue sun photo later when my DH can help my tech-challenged self.
  14. LOL Couchie - your "hate" list is the same as my "fave" list!
  15. Happy Birthday Aikim!! Extraordinary day here - a massive dust storm blanketing about a quarter of the country. I can still smell it and taste it. Visibility was much reduced and the sun shone blue. I saw photos on the news of blood red skies. Freaky. Well I had better go now and start dusting
  16. Very interesting to hear about your students Canfly. Seems sad that their options would be limited if they should decide to leave their communities. My oldest son has just finished with his Maths tutor. She has taken a temp teaching job for the next school term in a far away place so wont be available. Since he has been at High school the last 18months his maths scores have been going down. I have had three teachers tell me his class is hard (a "wild mob" is how one put it) but that his behaviour is ok. I spoke to the Head of Dept about getting him moved and after she looked into it she said that the other mainstream class was full also. His marks have gone down too much for the Pace (advanced) class so I was forced to get him a tutor. Now it is up to him to put in the extra work required, but he is a nearly 15 yr old boy so its a case of "you can lead a horse to water etc etc". The thing is that he is getting As in the advanced level English and Social Studies classes so I really think that he could at least get an average grade in Maths if he chose to apply himself. Oh well, I am trying not to worry since he is doing better in every other way, but I don't want him to limit his options for the future,you know? The tutor leaving has a bright side since she charged $50 dollars an hour and we have had an offer accepted on a block of land. So every cent will count when we start building next year. It is very exciting to be building again but also brings home to me how much of a worrier I am. I keep waking up at 2am worrying that we have not found the right house plan yet! Nothing has even gone wrong yet, as it inevitably does, but I am already losing sleep! All I can say is that I hope Clay does some lots of things soon so that I can take my mind off things and while away those early hours with exciting news and lovely clack!
