  1. OMG, that's adorable, thanks for posting it! One of the OTHER things young Mr. Aiken has received from his Daddy is that gift of looking you RIGHT IN THE EYE.....even in a picture. Totally cutie-pie! Have a good Friday! I bet this "recession" or whatever ya wanna call it is impacting your work.
  2. Awww, hope Clay is better faster than HIS soon! ....and my sympathies to those with tickets to this weeks' shows.... (((((((Cagney)))))) I missed your post while I was in Newfoundland skimming on an upsy-downsy hotel internet. I'm very glad to be home.
  3. I' m still having little off-and-on giggling fits about "save the lecture". I can HEAR him saying it.
  4. What always surprises me from the pictures we've seen, is not how serious Parker looks...but how ALERT he seems. He does indeed seem to be just taking it all in, making decisions. He's definitely checking it all out.
  5. Nawww, he's got his daddy's little smirk is all. I have read the 'it's so normal' thing (regarding the photo) in a few different places now. Yep, a loving mom and dad with their son in a 'classic' pose. Why should it be so remarkable? His family is more complete than a lot I know. Yup! ...and they look so totally happy.
  6. OK, that's it, I'm never getting on a plane at 7 AM again, I'm missing too much Claytime!! :lmaosmiley-1: Absolutely LOVE that he copied us on his personality profile; found it really interesting, and some things I would never, ever have thought that probably explain a bit. I want to do mine, but...y'know...it's that business laptop thing happening again, so I'll do it when I get home. The picture of Jaymes and Clay and Parker is WAY cute!!! He looks totally adorable...and so does Parker! Seriously, what a sweet pic. Looks like Clay is sitting on the arm of the sofa/chair beside them. And what red hair Parker looks to have! Adorable.....word of the day. OK...now I can go get some supper and just TRY to wipe this huge big grin off my face. PS it's COOOOOOOOLD in Corner Brook Newfoundland!! But no snow thank goodness.
  7. I love that suggestion, but unfortunately selling something on Itunes is not a piece of cake. This type of recording would probably not make the cut....AND if it did, there would be a huge kickback to Itunes, which seems counter-productive. Selling it on the Spam website and OFC would likely work though. Nothing is easy, huh? ncgurrl, thanks for the additional taxi info! Great to meet you in Raleigh!
  8. That would be 8th Avenue between 44th and 45th. Which is important for the driver to know because 44th is one way going one direction, and 45th is one way going the other. Most importantly, eeeeeeeeeeeee - have fun!!! They wouldn't. It adds to the adventure. (LOVE that new last guy cindilu2) Good Lord.... Y'know, now that you say that....I KNEW that from last time, it just makes NO sense, that's all! Thanks so much again!! I've written it down on the hotel reservation. :lmaosmiley-1:
  9. Oh, sorry, Jamar I didn't mean you specifically! ...I just meant how would ANYone who was a visitor to NYC and staying in a hotel know this info. ...and thanks again to jmh!
  10. They're all flat rate. Just be sure you catch one at the taxi stand. That's Times Square. Uptown is towards the higher street numbers & Central Park, downtown is towards the financial district. Manhattan is the borough all of those locations are in, as opposed to Brooklyn, Queens, the Bronx, or Staten Island. If you tell us your hotel, we'll tell you what you need to say. I love all you guys! :thbighug-1: Now I get it, just not one of the "rogue" guys off-line. ...and thanks so much for the location info as well! We're at the Milford Plaza; the address is 700-8th Ave. So I guess that would be Manhattan/Times Square/8th avenue between 7th and 8th streets? Also~I have a suggestion for those not able to go during fundraising time and get a picture. May be/probably is dorky, but hey, never said I wasn't! So, a suggestion and a request, all rolled up into one Is there someone that is going during fundraising time that would be willing to ask Clay to take a picture (of him alone, or with Rick and Tom) holding a sign (which my helper would take along) saying something like "Hi Lori" or "For Lori" or something of the sort? I think he would do it (why not?...more $) and I have Paypal for my helper. ETA: I personally would love that, and it's the nearest I'll ever get!
  11. Gay, not gay, whatever, I'm betting there are still hearts being broken at the Shubert! Yah, I think so...it's not the hauling IN the subway etc that's the issue, it's the several blocks walk to the hotel FROM the subway hauling it. I'd be fine with that with my purse~with three weeks worth of luggage and a 50-lb laptop...not so much! Everyone keeps saying a "flat rate" taxi....are there taxis that are NOT flat rate? And how do I tell the difference? Just had to give a rousing second reading to this! SO true. And, Claytonic, you're not alone on the "way of the world" stuff either; with ya there! It is what it is. ...and thanks to Jamar and others for the tip about the hotel location! I wouldn't have thought of that. Just curious....if, obviously, you're a visitor to NYC....how the heck do you KNOW this information? I stayed in our hotel once already, and wouldn't have the remotest clue about all that kind of info. I know it's just down the alley from the Shubert, and of course can find out the address and print a mapquest map which might help....but I don't know what NY'ers call it...ie, Manhattan/uptown/downtown...wouldn't have the remotest idea!
  12. Thanks for the suggeations, Cindy and jmh! I get that the Airtrain and subway are viable~but just can NOT see me and my intrepid companions hauling umpty-dozen suitcases blocks and blocks to the hotel. I know my back won't take it, and I'm not sure about the others. jmh, do you happen to know if taxis are generally available/waiting at the airport, or do they need to be pre-booked? to luckiest1....that was fun! And the subway was so efficient getting me back to Finch I could hardly believe it. About 1.5 hrs restaurant door to computer desk.
  13. Shoot, I knew there was something else I wanted to ask! I have to run, but will check back later....but: Does anyone from the NYC area, or who has used a service successfully, have a suggestion as to a car service or option to get from JFK down to Broadway? Last time we used Carmel Limo and were VERY unhappy with them, so we won't be doing that again. There are three of us and we would prefer a car service, I think, to a shuttle~but I'm open to suggestions.
  14. Just wanted to say a real quick HAPPY BIRTHDAY (three months) TO PARKER FOSTER AIKEN. I bet he's a real doll, just like Daddy!
  15. COMPLETELY off-topic...but I know there are several crafters of various types here, and I found this trailer for an upcoming documentary on youtube really interesting. Hope you will too. Back on topic....can hardly wait to see what Clay comes up with for an "enticer"! Sure, SURE wish I could go. But I'll be donating anyhow. It would probably be easier if I just gave him the password for my bank account. I'm sure he'd be more careful than I am.
  16. OMG, I love him! He totally, TOTALLY cracks me up! Cripes, I wish I was made of money! Somehow or other, I'll donate...but I hope he does think of us that are not going to be able to get there (in time). I think there are a lot of great suggestions, actually~some of them might be tough-ish, but hey, do they necessarily have to be READY before the end of the fundraiser? We could pre-order. ETA: that 500-character thing at the OFC sucks BIGTIME!....and I always forget about it when I go to respond. 62 tries later.....YES, I KNOW I talk too much!!
  17. Eeeeehhh!! Yes, thanks!! J'AIME ses yeux vert!! Or, Whichever.
  18. ldyj, congrats on the acknowledgement of your question!! I would be SOO excited too! Sure hoping Clay feels better quickly~I have friends attending Thurs/Fri, but that's not the whole thing of course. Luckiest1, I had to give up on the results to go to bed last night, but I have to say that's the first time in many, many years I've been interested as well. I'm excited about your future, USA! ....and I NEVER watch election results, or vote, up here. When someone comes along to lead the country whom I respect~I'll vote. Until then~nuh-uh. I refuse to give the idiots we have available now even that small acknowledgement. OK, enough with the politics from a furriner!
  19. UNwatermarked versions of the Spring Awakening pics are now posted at CV HERE
  20. People magazine seems to really like Clay lately. Hmmm could it be because he gave them an exclusive? Na they wouldn't be that shallow surely! Just the little one-liner? I'm not sure, does that mean there'll be a pic in this upcoming week's People? Cuz it doesn't make sense otherwise. Or is there a pic on the page linked that I'm not seeing? Thanks for bringing over the Spring Awakening pix! Would LOVE to be able to actually see them, but I'm so thrilled he's out and about. I agree with whoever said he's enjoying NYC while they're there. Cute comments from Gayle King. Wish he'd show US the pictures! Maybe there'll be some Thursday....
  21. Goldarngirl and I and some other friends saw Neil at Casino Rama in September of this year, and he mentioned this album and sang a bit of "Waking up is Hard". It sounds like a fun album indeed, and something Parker should definitely have. ETA: 4. Love will keep us together. 5. HB Sweet Sixteen 9. Teen Angel
  22. Just a quick and a pass-along....there are reports that Quiana was at Spam last night. Sounds like everyone is coming to see Parker
  23. Playing catchup after being away all weekend... I've never had a problem on Capital Blvd! Easy access to the 540/Airport and lots of....lots of. Very nice!! Had a lovely weekend with Clayfriends, watching A Clay Aiken Christmas in our short sleeves with all the windows open....in November....in Ontario! Wonders will never cease. We had a gourmet menu of lime chips, mexican dip, veggies/dip, smarties, mini rolos...and pizza....and had a great time! Mucho thanks to our hostess!
  24. Awwwwww, you spoiled the surprise! I was just waiting for the cry of help from Muski on Sunday night as she drove around......and around......and around..... Looks like we might have reached the end of the stage door experiences..... I knew it was gonna happen, but hoped it would last longer. But I'm glad he has Jaymes and Parker there to rush home to.
