  1. Oh I did so love that AI5 smile and the fact that he turned the tables on AI. But I am in love with #2 and I did love his beard even if he did have to do beard comb overs. And who would have thought that less than a year after that photo was taken he would be holding his own baby in his arms. ps I am seriously bummed out at the fact that #1 didn't win yesterday...how could you resist that smile on that happy happy man?
  2. I have my ticket and I won't be flying out on Sunday so would love to join you all.
  3. I don't listen to ATDW very much any more..not that I have anything against covers, classics whatever, just that I wish the songs chosen for Clay to sing on that album weren't being sung so often by others on today's radio. When I hear one of those songs in a store or on the radio and it is not Clay's voice, I get upset because it's his voice I want to hear singing it. OT for you foodies. I just came across this recipe website Cookstr
  4. This from WinkyDink at CH I just visited this site and Holy-moly is right! Now am listening to Van Morrison's Ballerina which always vividly brings back those wonderful nights with my DH during those exciting times after we met as we lay listening to late night FM. ETA: Which, BTW, at that time early 1992, was the only station in Vancouver where one could hear Van Morrison or Bob Dylan or Crosby Stills Nash and Young or any number of singers and groups who did not fit the Top 40 AM format.
  5. FromClaygary Good luck for your interview today and I hope you got enuf sleep. Tonite on my first day back in Vancouver my daughter took me to see "For My Wife", one of the films in the Vancouver Queer Film Festival. Charlene was instrumental in getting a bill passed in Washington state to confer some legal rights to same sex partners and was honoured at the Hollywood GLADD awards for her documentary and her advocacy work.
  6. More Than This : Roxy Music.
  7. Hello all from cottage country in Madawasca. I have had varying success in getting access to the internet since arriving here. Consequently I've been having a fly by read using the WiFi at a picnic table in front of a laundromat before arriving every day to visit my mama or on my way back to my brother's cottage I am so happy that there is a chance that I will be able to go to the Gala. I have a request. I really would like to sit with someone I know either in person or thru this board. Does anyone here have room at their table and wouldn't mind my joining you? I am having such trouble getting anything posted and then it appears twice in the same post! I wonder if one of the little ants I've seen on this table has crawled in a port. Here goes...one more try.
  8. Hello from now rainy England...i would love to part of the breakfast fun but, of course, it all depends on whether I can get a ticket to the Gala.
  9. Happy Independence Day From an Canadian vacationing in the UK. Today I spent 5 hours in Kew Gardens and if allowed would have loved to camp out there for a week. There is so much to see. The weather, so un-English with temperatures in the high 80's, has finally cooled a little. Tomorrow I'm off to visit a friend for a few days and visit Bath as well as some gardens. I have been so busy sight seeing and visiting with family that I am finding it hard to keep up with the boards, in fact I quickly skim them for any news of our boyfriend. When I saw that he had blogged today I was so excited that it took me three tries before I successfully logged in to OFC! Thanks for posting this FromClaygary. I watched a few minutes of Part 1, booked marked it and look forward to viewing all the rest. Yesterday I watched the men's singles semi-finals and was rooting for Andy Murray along with most of Britain. I did find it amusing tho' that my relatives informed me that Britain was pinning its hopes on him winning even tho he is Scottish.
  10. I wonder if this stuff would help with the odor? Cigar Aficianado magazine even recommends it. I'm going to buy some to try after eating at certain restaurants because I hate the way some food places make my hair and clothes smell. Letcha know if it works or not! hee Hope y'all are having a good day. This product looks good. I mean if it can take away the smell of skunk as shown in the video it would be worth getting. I cannot see that it is carried anywhere up here tho' and I leave before Amazon.com could get it to me. My day has gotten better now that my packing anxiety has decreased somewhat and I have just put a chocolate Pavlova for our book group dinner tomorrow into the oven. The recipe is one of Delia Smith's that I'm trying for the first time. I do wish that the thunder I heard earlier today had been followed by rain...we really need it as everything is so dry.
  11. all for your very informative and useful advice. Much appreciated.
  12. I need some advice from you all. My subscription is up in just a few days and I'd like to know what the difference is in the offered Ultimate membership and the Online Only plan? And is the difference worth US$10.00? Also Scarlett and KAndre when you were travelling from place to place in China how many pieces of luggage were you having to schlep around? I will be leaving on my trip to the UK in a few days and am beginning to obsess about luggage weight and numbers. I realize that this is the first time in years that I have not had a central location from which I come and go and have had someone to drive me. I'll be travelling by train in increments from London to West Yorkshire. Advice from any of you seasoned travellers is much welcome. Sheesh does this look desperate or what?
  13. My oh my it's been a while since I saw that gif. It is rather mesmerizing. I need a little information. I have an iPod Nano which is not even a year old and this morning when I turned it on I saw that there are 4 thin lines about a third of the way from the top of the screen and 1 in the middle of the screen. Does anyone know why? and if there is anything that can be done to eliminate them?
  14. Rhubarb and strawberry pie mmmm so good, rhubarb and strawberry crisp with vanilla ice cream. Oh yeah! Lotus is starting to salivate! Right now I am struggling to set up the netbook I bought yesterday and I am going nuts. I've already called my internet service support person 3 times and am about to call again. I cannot get the wireless to work and now I'm wondering if my router is just outdated. Hell's Teeth this is so frustrating!
  15. Have any of you here thought of yourselves as cougars in relation to Clay? Much as I lust after him I've never called myself that but I then think I'm way past cougar age and well into too old pussycat age. An Interesting article on the subject from NPR Let Us Allow The Word 'Cougar' To Die Instantly and Painfully by Linda Holmes and on a slightly positive note on the so called fight between OMC and AL that points out how ridiculous and unimportant it all is. Lambert smacks down Aiken ps wandacleo I enjoyed the article on The Gay Asterisk thank for posting the link. (damn 2 edits in 3 minutes!)
  16. Kareneh I am really enjoying reading your blogs and loved the image that is conjured up of your landlord in the chlorine concentrated pool water scrubbing the bottom while his underwear slowly dissolves. Your brain is certainly getting a lot of exercise with all the new information you are dealing with daily.
  17. liney23 I'll be visiting family and friends from London to Yorkshire for a month. I do want to see some of the places I remember from my childhood and go to Hadrian's wall as well as doing some walking in the Yorkshire Dales and visiting whatever National Trust gardens are close to where I am staying. When I return I'll be visiting with family and friends in Ontario before returning home.
  18. Well, I did click on the link and did see the cover and while I really don't see myself buying his album, I thought the RS cover looked pretty damn sexy. And I am someone who still loves the "Rocky Horror Picture Show" and has the DVD. He also says he doesn't want to come out in the way Clay did...well duh! They are so different. I don't imagine that Adam has any comprehension of the crap the media has put Clay through these last 6 years and why should he care. Right now he is at the height of his celebrity and obviously having a ball. Anyway...said my piece..no more from me on that subject. Not being a seasoned traveller as many of you here are, I'm getting a little anxious about travelling for 7 weeks..and I am a terrible procrastinator..what clothes to take..what gadgets to take...where exactly do I intend to go when I get to the 6 different places I'm visiting in England...how do I limit my time skimming the boards to say 1 hour per day? Arghh!!! :thcid_3BBE149B-59C6-45CF-B77F-7
  19. wandacleo quite the review of my Life in Ruins. Having only seen the trailer I thought that the movie might be fun, something to rent in a few months. But after reading your reaction I checked out reviews on Movie Reviews at Rotten Tomatoes and wow it was totally panned. Roger Ebert said Don't think I will be renting it. Thanks for the warning.
  20. Thank you KarenEh for those photos of Clay which greeted me as I have my morning coffee and for the link to your blog. I see that you have written a lot since you made the final decision to stay in the House of Erotic Massage. I wonder how long it will take for the neighbours to realize that you are not going to be running a bawdy house. It sounds very expensive there but I guess that's due to the US dollar dropping again. it now will cost C$ 0.11 less to buy a US dollar than it did just a couple of weeks ago but only 2cents less to buy a British pound.
  21. On that note, a friend recently shared this simple, but powerful YouTube video - Thank you annabear for posting that link. Good morning all and now off to play in the garden. i.e. weeding etc, before it becomes too hot to do so.
  22. Me too...thanks for the link. It's a hot day here on the coast. News is that we may break a record for high temperatures on this day. At 300pm it was 80F in my house, meanwhile Back East, i.e. Toronto my brother tells me that they had to have the heat on last night! I'll have to wait until early evening before going out in the garden to do some much needed weeding.
  23. The only good side to Clay's response to Prop, 8 being distributed to the blogosphere is that it really shows just how articulate, intelligent & thoughtful he is, and I think far too few people see this side of Clay, they only see the crap!! Of course our favorite asshole is taking credit for lifting the blog & sending it to PH's shit site, & he lifted the Adam blog as well & sent it to Gawker .com. He has bragged for quite a while that he is a member of the OFC under an alias. Too bad the OFC doesn't have a way they can track it to him & ban his sorry ass. But, if he didn't lift it one of the other wacko's over there would. Clay we need some news, Baaaaad!!! Seems to me that even if the OFC were able to ban him he could just join under a different name. I think that he will always around..he is obsessed. And I don't think that he is the only OFC member who would lift the blog, judging from some of the nasty comments thrown at Clay after his Adam comment from "fans" at OFC. Love the banner.
