The trouble with NC is the venue is not great in Raleigh. From what I have heard its mostly lawn seats with bad sight lines. And the world seems to want to come go to that one! Also, its the weekend right after California which might cause problems for people who are planning on going there. I wouldn't rule it out because hey! I'm making plans to go to California and I may be unemployed at the time - or worse, newly employed and not allowed to take the time! But I figure I need to plan and if I can't go, I'll worry about that then. My tax refund is on its way and earmarked for Clay!

Just call me irresponsible! :medium-smiley-070:

For the three-fer, the ideal way to do it would be to fly into San Diego and out of LA. I bet, though, if it were cheaper to fly in and out of LA someone could make sure you get down to San Diego.

Hopefully more dates will be announced and there will be an easier place for everyone to meet up. Are there any weekend days left without a concert?

I was a Cary for the JBT - got lawn seats, did not want to pay brokers.

We got there early on that hot day and all the news people were there handing out hats and fans, we traded pins and had a good time.Since we got ther 3 hours ahead of time, with a cooler - so we had a picnic lunch. We parked close enough to drop all that off 1/2 hour before the show - so we raced inside and got into the second row on the lawn and it was great. We had a good site line, had jumbo trons in front of us and could use our binoculars. The lawn was higher than the small seating area, and apparently cooler.

OK, it wasn't second row, but we really did have a good time talking to all the people around us. We even snuck over and talked to the meers in the seats. Now the seats people complained a lot, A LOT, but us lawn people had a good time in our cheap seats.

On the other hand the Biltmore looks a little like musicfest with flat seating long and narrow. Maybe it is wide and shallow, I have to look at the picture again. Fear and I will discuss it tonight.

I wonder if those New York state venues are meant to appease the Canadian fans? So close yet so far?

They've appeased me!!!!! :F_05BL17blowkiss: Looks like a NY-OH threefer! And the timing is perfect too, becoss I have family stuff at the end of July. Heh, watch, just becoss I said that they'll post a bunch of Canadian dates then. LOL.

I'm also thinking about doing a roadtrip to NC for the Cary/Asheville twofer. I attended the Cary JBT, and just by complete luck managed to pull up 2nd row reserved seats on the Ticketmaster public sale. It was the hottest I've ever been in my life, but it was sooooo worth it. Asheville sounds very prestigious, and the scenery looks gorgeous. I've never been to that part of NC. So if an FCA get together was planned for NC, I'd definitely be there!

Ok....deep breath....OHHHHMMMMMMMMM......

Let's wait for all the dates and places before we try to plan our FCA Fest...Of course, the So. Cal 3-Fer would be a hoot and a holler, but I can understand why it might not work for our East Coast and Eastern Canadian women...(But isn't LA a pretty inexpensive airport to find tix for?) IN any case...I can tell you that Raleigh and Asheville, NC, are not just 'down the road' from each other....and flying into Raleigh isn't always cheap. But hell, I don't know...

Let's see if he gets any dates in Chicago or New Orleans!!! Of course, New Orleans really isn't in the middle of the country, either, is it? Wonder what the absolute geographic center of the U.S. is....anybody know? What about the geographic center of N. America? Mmmm? What am I talking about? I don't have a fuckin' clue.

I think somebody slipped some GuaraNAH in my Diet Coke. :fca:

I am so excited I can't stand it.

I am planning on going to California and that is so exciting! :04:

And a concert practically in my own back yard! Well, not that close. At least 45 minutes to an hour away. And in a bad neighborhood. And Philly is quickly becoming the murder capital of the nation, but still! No matter what happens job-wise, no one can take that concert away from me! :laola0:

And we WILL find a place for an FCA get together! :party20:

I am wired!

Bring on the rest of the dates so we can make our plans!!

God, we haven't even ordered tickets yet!

Thank goodness for tax refunds!!

Muski St. Louis, the gateway to the west, is pretty darn close to the center of the country. I'm hoping the tour planninn part of Team Clay notices that and remembers he hasn't been here since the IT. I'd be happy with Chicago, or Merrillvile.... he's done 2 great concerts at Merrillville. Merrillville is 6 hours from me, but the drive would have to be better than it was in December.

Luckiest there are so many of your posts, both here and elsewhere I could have worded in the past several days. I enjoy reading posts from you and others, who are just sky high on the fact that he's touring this summer. Ansa, I'm glad you're going to get to see him somewhere, and Muski I'm not sure if your feet have touched the ground since these dates have been posted. Who needs a new album, let him go out there and sing the crap out of his current one for now. None of us have been able to experience that yet.

Ansa, that's so cool about your hubby. It makes a helluva lot of difference to have a supportive partner. I know some people who have to actually make efforts NOT to talk about Clay or their Clay friends! I know someone who basically stopped being a part of a message board AND stopped posting her story because her husband basically gave her an ultimatum---her 'hobby' or him!

<_<:what_d_fuck:

I told my husband that and he did the same 'emoticon' thing as I posted above...heh. He said, "Right, I can imagine me saying that to YOU!":cryingwlaughter::hahaha:

Yay for Ansa. I get to meet my sister, finally. And she's going to finally get to see her second concert. YAY.. don't worry about anything...by the time it's all over you will be an expert. I hope all the tour dates are released before the first tickets go on sell and I'll be cool. Waves to financial advisor. eeek

Couchie, you going to Philly? Is that the concert you're talking about going to, Ansa? Or is it just wherever we have our FCA fest? Or both? huh?

And we still need a few more uptempo tunes I think... or he will do some tempo changing on some of the songs listed. Maybe he could do MoaM songs as a montage or a few of the ATDW as a montage. Hmmm montage? Is that the word I'm looking for? You know what I mean. But this would thrill me. Of course, anything Clay sings will thrill me. .

Feel free to mess with.

Edited to add Muski's song..still don't know the temp..I'm determined to find the song and take a damn listen!

Why Don't We Do It In The Road?

Lyrics: Lennon/McCartney

Music: Lennon/McCartney

Sung by Phil Lesh with the Grateful Dead a few times in the mid-1980s, and subsequently with Phil Lesh & Friends and with The Dead.

Why don't we do it in the road?

Why don't we do it in the road?

No one will be watching us

Why don't we do it in the road?

Why don't we do it in the road?

Why don't we do it in the road?

Why don't we do it in the road?

Why don't we do it in the road?

No one will be watching us

Why don't we do it in the road?

Why don't we do it in the road?

Why don't we do it in the road?

Why don't we do it in the road?

Why don't we do it in the road?

No one will be watching us

Why don't we do it in the road?

Why don't we do it in the road?

Why don't we do it in the road?

Why don't we do it in the road?

Why don't we do it in the road?

No one will be watching us

Why don't we do it in the road?

[variant:Why don't we do it on the drums?]

So...can we include it? :ura: :00000441:

But just imagine him singing THESE words..

I'm gonna do all the things for you

A girl wants a man to do

Oh, baby (Oh, baby)

I'll sacrifice for you

I'll even do wrong for you

Oh, baby (Oh, baby)

Every minute, every hour

I'm gonna shower you

With love and affection

Look out, it's comin' in your direction

And I'm

I'm gonna make you love me

Oh, yes I will

Yes I will

I'm gonna make you love me

Oh, yes I will

Yes I will

Look here

My love is strong, you see

I know you'll never get tired of me

Oh, baby (Oh, baby)

And I'm gonna use every trick in the book

I'll try my best to get you hooked

Hey, baby (Hey, baby)

oh, I am SOOOOO ready to get Clayed again. :hubbahubba:

Ooooooh couchie, my favorite game. Hope I'll get in a response before my friend arrives. At first perusal, I love what you've done with it.

OT. I have a friend coming to visit from NY (actually drove over from Wisconsin where he was attending a funeral. My friend likes to drive--can you tell?). So he wasn't sure he was coming. Has two weeks off and a funeral in Wisconsin that he wants to go to (last of the elders). So Sunday night he calls me from a wake and says he's leaving Monday night for NC and he'll call again first. Tuesday at noon (that's today, right?) he calls and says he's leaving now. Which is great because the alternative could have been that he called to tell me he's here already and forgot to call before he left. Monday was mom day and she flat wore my ass out, and I came home and vegged and went to bed, and didn't get ** done here. So I spent the day today clearing a space on the floor in the second bedroom for my air bed, which meant unpacking 12!!! boxes (and moving others)--all papers of various sorts relating to my job for the last 20 years or so. I've been dreading it forever, but it only took a few hours. Of course there's a lot of sorting and winnowing yet to do. I've got another friend coming for the gala and that will further motivate me. I'm trying to advance from "5 months and I'm not unpacked yet!" to "Boy this place is cluttered; I need to spring clean!" I moved from a huge 3 bdr. apt. plus all the stuff from my office to a 2 bdr. apt. no office. It's taking me awhile to get it together. But today I did a lot! Whew. An hour or so ago he called to say he's in Hickory (also called from Asheville, still unsure whether to stop or keep going) and is stopping, so I have a few hours in the morning for more house cleaning.

I won't be on the boards much til Richard leaves. Whenever that will be. The weekend, I'm guessing. Or early next week. I'll sneak on when he goes to bed. I'm excited--he's my BFF, but we hardly ever get to see each other as we've never lived in the same place since he lived here for a year in the early 80's. That's when we met. Not a romance, just FYI, he's a great good friend of mine.

(Isn't into Clay but finds the phenomenon of the fandom/boards/etc fascinating. Likes Clay OK--thinks he is geeky and weird in a good way. Has rarely listened to him sing.)

So later tonight or in the morning, I hope, the set list. I'll bet you anything he's going to sing Everything I Have, since it was on Days and it's one of the originals. Maybe after LNM?? Medleys is the word. Did I spell that right?

Oh, did y'all know everyone in the known universe is apparently a member of this board? Hee. I looked at the member's list a couple of days ago and was amazed. Lots have posted at one time or another too.
