#5 (plus #6 & #7) - "Well....the weather outside is frightful...but the man is so delightful..."

He reminds me of my husband. He could care less what anybody thinks and doesn't give a rat's patootie what he looks like when he leaves the house. He likes to hunt for the most wrinkled article of clothing he can find. One with a couple of holes in it or a big old stain. It's a good thing I love both of these men. :F_05BL17blowkiss: :medium-smiley-070:

I think that's one reason this picture is so hot to me. That is Mr. "I don't give a damn what people think"! Combine that with the scruffy manly look and you have HOT! Its more of an attitude or aura hot. I hate the bucket hat, HATE the glasses, hate the clothes, not crazy about the sandals and even hate he seems to have left one of the pups at home, but there is just some kind of hot oozing from that picture for me!

Hey, Claygasm! Know what's playing right now from my iTunes here at work?

It's George. Singing "While My Guitar Gently Weeps"... :F_05BL17blowkiss:

Oooooooo!!! I think that is my very, very favorite George song ever!!!!

muski, if you need "Just, er....Buddies" or "Good Buddies" in Word format, I have those.

That would be sooooo wonderful. Thank you. I just got "Southern Heat" from cha cha, and as I told her in my email, my vision got blurry when I opened it and saw that first chapter....silly, huh?

What really burns is that when my laptop got lost/stolen in LA last September, I started copying and pasting chapters from the boards of my old stories and PROMISING MYSELF TO CREATE CDS FROM THE FILES....I never got all of them into word files on this laptop and never got around to making cds of them. Kept putting it off, figuring there were other things more important to do with my time....which, of course, is true...but still...

So I'm putting an all-call out on CV and EAYOR on my story thread, asking for help from any others who might have copied and converted my other stories into word docs. I actually have Nothing But the Truth printed out! But I don't have the electronic copy...Now THAT'S a major undertaking!

So this posted at the CH.

trishcc at CV found the tour listed already at Pollstar. The link to Grand Prairie already has tickets..

There is a date listed I hadn't seen before: July 19th in Canandaigua, NY. Where is Canandaigua, NY????

ETA: Interesting. I think Canadaigua is really Rochester in disguise!

Yep, Can......gua is the venue near Rochester. I know because I booked a hotel there today. :)

Clay and his "disguise" CMSU. Not a fan of beards, but there really isn't any look he can't pull off, as far as I'm concerned.

Yup I think my hubby and my dad...both had favorite shorts that look very much like those shorts. Now my hubby does take time to look good when going out...he would wear those shorts and well chosen wrinkled shirt and nice contrasting faded tshirt inside...They all look worn and casual...but the combination usually ends up looking good.

Hee...yeah I read those flip flops are paul smith. I bet those shorts and shrit are pretty pricey too for looking like they came from goodwill...

I just love it when I continue to see Clay looking like this. Not my favorite look mind you. I see him more like a younger brother when he is in those outfits. But I just feel like Clay really isn;t changing who he is...and his travelling outfits are my assurance of that.

Yeah, I was hanging out with my friend all day and the bolded part would definitely describe him as well. But then I dress like my stuff came from goodwill and sometimes it did, so I can't say much, nor do I want to. So maybe it isn't surprising that I find this particular version of Clay hawt as all get-out. Not as hawt as "in performance mode" Clay, cause that Clay is HAWT, but as a regular guy, today's paparazzi Clay is a guy I'd give a second look to.

Rochester is Canandaigua in disguise, for purposes of concert location anyway. That is, no one who lived up there would describe a concert in that venue as a concert in Rochester. Just like the Cary concert is in Cary, not Raleigh.

All of a sudden it sounds like a bunch of y'all are going to Philly to me. I just haven't decided what to do--other than Raleigh and Asheville. I'd like to know what the other venues will be.

You guys, my boyfriend is sure workin the "ugly". What a "cub". Call the Fab Five , stat! Manscaping, wardrobe revision, anything. Maybe Tom will fix him a nutritious meal with vegetables!

I still love him.

The madness over tickets at CH is curazuh. Lists and manic behaviour. I tried to get on a certain list well in advance but someone over there just doesn't like me and never has.

Hey, if you're ever in Vegas, don't miss cirque du soleil's "O". most stupendous piece of staging with water and moving parts and mystery and fantastic visuals ever. what a show!

(((Diva)))...yup that is whats so frustrating about this group buying things...it seems lots of board politics involved. Oh well...As much as I would love to get front row seats, I am good without it.I just watn to be in the building and absoorbe his magnificence...and all the crazy atmosphere that goes with it.

So hope we get the rest of the dates today....keep all fingers and toes crossed

{{{hugs}}} I'd be complaining to the mods, if I were you. Like/dislike shouldn't play into anything....but we all know it often does.

So apparently someone on the CB found an Oct. 24th date listed for somewhere in NY, on a broker site? Wonder if there's any truth to it. And I read a few posts saying that it might be a Christmas date........bwah ha ha! Clay loves him some Christmas, but even he is not crazy enough to celebrate it before Halloween! :P

Anyone who is thinking of coming to Philly and aren't included in any lists or groups or just wants to hedge their bets and figure they can sell any extra tickets later....

They do have these "Friends of the Mann" things. They're different levels of membership. Anyway, according to what I have been reading on the boards, they get their seats before any groups. They are assigned according to the level "friend" you are, with the most expensive getting first dibs on down. You can get up to 6 tickets per friendship (hee!). The only bad thing is, you don't know where your seats will be before you have to plunk down the money. They decide what the best seats are. Seems to me, though, if they get priority over groups, "friends" would always have better seats.

Its a thought. You can probably get more information here: Mann Center for the Perfroming Arts or give them a call. The least expensive level seems to be $75 AND you get parking in one of their lots and parking ia BITCH down there!

Of course, maybe its already too late for this! What do I know?

I do know the Mann in big. Under cover alone they have like 4000 seats, but if you add in the terrace and the lawn, its like 10,000! They sometimes put coupons in the local paper for free lawn seats!

The ticket angst is creeping me out. Someone said that a site called TicketsNow! has tickets for sale at the Greek NOW! Example is 8th row center for $395 or something like that. The tix don't even officially go on sale until April sometimes. How does this happen? I don't get it.

I'm actually on a 'list' at CH...for two tix...to a concert I might not even get to go to, but I know I'll be able to sell the danged things if I can't make it. I'm a newbie over there so I'm not expecting any seating favors, for sure.

Half of me wishes all this scheming and advance maneuvering was not even an option and the other half of me wants the best damned seat possible for the least amount of money, damn it! and wants people I don't like so much to get not-so-good seats, 'coss I'm petty that way. :em0100:

This book I"m reading is fascinating and I want to tell Clay about it. He'd LOVE it!

Anybody have his cell number?

OH I so agree. The bucket hat is hideous, the sweater’s too small but there’s something about that broad shouldered, dog totin’, two strappin’ guy that smolders to me.

I put my name on the group list for Philadelphia because I’m a lemming…and I always panic. For Wolf Trap JBT I was not part of the group tix. I got my ticket through the fanclub presale and had much better seats than the group ticket people had. I don’t think I’ve ever just bought one ticket to a Clay concert. It’s a sickness. I don’t think I’ll be that bad this time around. (that’s if you don’t count my Pavlov response to the Philly group list). Anyway, Diva, I’ve got you covered.

I am sharing the LOVE for the Beatles. Have you heard the album LOVE?? Which is the 'soundtrack' for the Cirque du Soleil's new show in Vegas. (Diva is seeing this show TONIGHT!) It's all the best parts of all the Beatles' songs jumbled up together into little montages of music.

(forgive me if you have already discussed this!)

:pod:

Starting with a road trip to PA a couple weeks ago, I listened to Beatles LOVE for about 2 days and then I moved onto disc 2 of the Beatles Live at the BBC, and then to disc 2 of the Beatles Anthology, and from there to Beatles 1. I am looking for all the little bits and pieces they used in the LOVE album. I was surprised by the BBC album - there are lots of songs on there I'd never heard! I must not have listened to it when I bought it! What? Or else I don't remember - CRS you know!!

I LOVE George! Even though Paul was always my favorite - I wanted to marry him. He would have liked me too! Being a blonde photographer and all.... what?

muski - your pursuit for all your writings brings two words to mind! EXTERNAL HARD DRIVE! (ok that's three) You really should get one. Some are fairly small and not that expensive. I have a 6 gig one about the size of a box of matches. OR - did you mention you have an ipod? Can't you store files on that? (assuming it's one of the bigger ones...)

Anyhow, external hard drive is the way to go! They range in size and capacity (you can see some HERE) and the smaller ones you just unplug from the USB port and stick them in your pocket. I have several with all the Clack there ever was (practically, probably missed a few here and there, dating back to AI and AI tour) and the biggest one is 250 gigs. When your computer crashes or whatever, you just unplug from one and plug into another!

OK - I'll stop rambling now.......

Diva is right about all the angst going on at the CH about ticket-buying. I am trying not to get too caught up in it...... But I AM EXCITED ABOUT THIS SUMMER!!!!!

cha cha....got two external hard drives...have had 'issues' with both...but you're right...I'll work on transferring my "precious" to both the external drives AND to CDs this weekend! Meanwhile, my readers ROCK, y'all!

Within four hours of asking for help, readers had emailed me all the stories I've posted! Even the "War & Peace"-wannabe, Nothing But the Truth!

Today...even with Pod People and ticket assholes in our midst and all kinds of not-so-lovely fans, I'm in love with the Clay fandom!

We're awesome. :F_05BL17blowkiss:

Well, after reviewingthe site and writing a detailed list of questions to the Mann, I have decided that a 6 way split Friend ticket is the way to go - the Friend tickets (except for 4) go on sale 3/23, so we better be deciding who is a friend or not! I better check the fan club and see if they are going to have presales.

I'm being chill so far with the tickets--I've impressed myself. I figure there will be plenty of extras around, and since I'm not all that picky, I should be fine. Of course I'll do Ticket Bastard Tango and the OFC presales, and see what shakes out, but this rush to buy group tickets kind of weirds me out. Course I don't have a lot of extra money to fritter away anymore, so that helps me be reasonable, but I used to get really annoyed with myself for having extra tickets I couldn't sell. Why throw away money like that? So I'm content to let the group sale madness pass me by. But divayenta, ain't no way anyone has the right to "forget" to include you on any group sale list you ask to be on. I'd make a stink on your behalf if I knew where to make it. GRRRRR. Anyways, :F_05BL17blowkiss: you are the best person evah, and anyone who doesn't see that can kiss my behind! Pffftttt!!

Hmmmm, I have my name on one list for group tickets, and already have my Chatauqua ticket through a friend, but I don't feel like I'm trying to rush anything. I'm just lazy and can avoid doing the Ticketmaster tango this way! LOL.

Speaking of the Beatles and external hard drives.......I have three externals (160 gb, 200 gb, 250 gb) named George, John and Paul. Hee, can Ringo be far behind? I also have hundreds of data dvds burned off, mostly the same clack that is on the externals. I am ready for anything!

One thing I make sure to back up to an external on a regular basis is my master file folder for my iTunes library. I've put a lot of time and effort into getting so much audio organized, I'd hate to lose it.

I love, love, love the Beatles Love album, and I also love the Beatles at the Beeb and the Anthology series. I can't seen to find my Anthology Cds though.......only the DVDs. I'll have to search some old boxes.....

It's funny. I've found a musical genre that I can enjoy with each of my 3 kids (who are 15, 19, and 21). The youngest is really into the Beatles right now, and we listen to all of my old Beatles Cds when we are driving around. The 19 year old is an Elvis freak. He just can't get enough. He and I have tickets to attend the big concert at the Collingwood ON Elvis festival this July (please Clay, no Toronto concert on July 28th, I beg of you). The oldest, my daughter, is my partner in crime and attends all Clay concerts with me. Well, almost all, I'm 2 up on her, and she won't let me forget it. :P

muski - can you send me the 'War n Peace' novel? (NBTT) It would be great to have it all in one place to print out (or not) and read! I looked for it at CV but didn't find it yet!

And what kinds of issues did you have with the HDs? What kind were they?

playbiller - how much would it cost to be your 'friend'?????

Well, if the 90 dollar friend is good, split 6 ways, it would be 15 each and the tickets.

I don't expect any reply until Monday, weather is bad and people are thinking about that.

Of course, someone who could use the friendship should be the purchaser - this is a bit far for me to drive for a regular concert. There are also free priority parking tickets which could pay for the Friendship.
