atinal
I am much, MUCH more bribable than Ansa. Big sis, this week should be good for me, as I have finished rearranging all my furniture and am just waiting to purchase my lovely concert tickets.... In case y'all are wondering - we here in Texas can throw a seriously FUN party...all you have to do is show up... KAndre, I'm so glad that you and the eHP are getting some Clay in your neck of the woods. Our vacation a few weeks ago was in Texas. We started with a week at South Padre and finished with a few days in Houston to visit my step daughter. It was starting the warm up as we left, but those first few days at S. Padre were pretty chilly.....compared to below zero and snow, it was downright balmy. Oh, and while I'm for moving on, I wouldn't mind seeing the results of the KAndre and Diva collaboration. rcknrllmom
Color me dense (surprise) but I didn't even really know that his FU blog was in reaction to UNICEF posts...just thought it was just a "I've had it!" in general... cool. Oh, and see my new old avie? A discussion of this moment in time from the Tampa IT made me nostalgic for this early glimpse of the 'real' Clay.... Man has some lubrication in those hip joints.... from practice, perhaps? Noticed the avi change right away...I mean how could you NOT?
YSRN
And here is the illuminating article that is referred to: Music's New Gatekeeper (WSJ) Ooo, that's interesting djs. Thanks! couchie, I have not yet gotten to Menopause - heh, both meanings!! Seriously, I'm game for just about anything in the city, so whatever ya'll wanna do is fine by me. I might want to drive across with you east bayers though. A quick drive up 17 and then we can all go over the bridge (eep) together?
JennaZ
It's never really mattered to me if the "contest" was real, or if we ever saw any results from it. I'm just for moving on. Sounds like we have a lot to look forward to. Me too, atinal. I guess, though, that some invest themselves so heavily into the fandom that everything takes on such monumental significance, with drama arising over the most ridiculous things. War in the Middle East? No, it's Clay's teeth that generate anger and angst. Sometimes I think that people look for things to make them upset. Anyway, I'm glad all of you meeting in Texas are not letting the contest drama sap your excitement. Wish I could join you. I grew up in Houston, and still miss it sometimes. Have fun! ALthough I don't see any Northern CA venues yet, it looks like a definite Southern CA 3-FER! ETA: Where the HELL is Pala, CA? Gotta go look it up.... EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE! Claygasm
There are still more dates coming! It said he's doing approximately 20 and this is only 12. Northern California may be coming next. There are 6 days between LA and NC. Surely he can run up to the Bay Area before heading east. Maybe? Oh, I googled Pala. It seems its near San Diego? I would love to go to Asheville. A concert at the Biltmore Estate would be lovely! But I don't think its in the cards.
muskifest
ETA: I just called Mr. Muski and said, "Just giving notice: I'll be in Southern California Aug 2, 3 &4." "Why?" "Three concerts in a row." He just laughed and said, "Ok...have fun!" Mr. Muski rocks. and Claygasm, don't think I didn't immediately wonder how feasible a 'quick' trip up the East Coast for the Philly concert would be...I mean, seein' as how I'll be in Miami until the 15th or even the 16th anyway, donchaknow.... :em0200: Hey...are all these places OUTDOOR venues? ldyjocelyn
I have to be patient, and also figure out when my family reunion is in August. But I too would love to go to the Biltmore show! That would be great! EEEEEEEEEEEEEE for CG and Philly! Hmmmm...Texas is looking pretty good to me right now for a trip....
bottlecap
EEEEEEE! I may actual travel a couple of hours to see Clay in Columbus! Hope they get the venue fixed, because that's a big WTF? is that place right now... And georgiaclay, girl - you gotta brave the Atlanta traffic to see you boyfriend!!! Plus a big blank chunk of days at the end of July TBD - EEEEEEE!

Ooooo! Muski!! You MUST come up to Philly! You never miss a concert back here! My blow-up bed is ready and waiting for you! ETA: I don't know about all of them, but the Mann is an outdoor venue. Part of it is under cover and there are seats that are uncomfortable concrete benches (at least they were last time I was there - they have redone the joint) and then lawn seats. Couch Tomato
Yay for the California Threefer.. Whoo hooo.. Guess we can wait for the rest of the dates to see if FCA thang is doable! But weeeeeeeeeeeeeeee.
bottlecap
Well. I'm moderating my excitement a bit until I find out more about the Columbus venue - It soulds like it might be a sit-on-the-lawn type of thing. Crap!!!
Claygasm
At the Mann he may be performing with the Philadelphia Orchestra. That's a very prestigous gig! One of the most well respected orchestras in the country. Of course, he may also be performing with the Philly Pops, but they're very well thought of too. This venue with lawn seats is pretty big, but the only seats where you can really see well are under cover. I don't remember any jumbotrons. The good thing is MANY people go for the lawn seats on the spur of the moment. Its a really popular thing to do around here. So there could be the potential for a lot of Not.Us. folks to hear him - if not see him. The down side is, this is July in Philly. The weather is usually a tad humid to say the least. Ooooooo! Sweaty Clay!!! Now that has potential!
atinal
I sure hope he can find his way to Chicago or St. Louis cause most of those places are pretty far away from me. I too would love to be able to go to the Biltmore Estates one. As a long time HGTV watcher, I've always wanted to see that place. But of course if you went to that one, you'd probably want to go to Raleigh the night before arg....
ldyjocelyn
So far for me, NONE of the shows are driveable, so I'm expecting something a little closer to me to show up. I'm thinking he may play south Chicago, though -- First Midwest Bank Ampitheater (used to be Tweeter Center) is a distinct possibility. I have to confirm one date on my schedule, plus there's a possibility of a second, work related conflict (on a weekend no less, a series of classes that is competitive to get into). But if he sticks with weekends, I'll just have to pick a weekend, and plan on flying that weekend. My financial situation could be in a bit of jeopardy -- hubby is very dissatisfied with his job at the moment, and we may be at single income (me) by that time. (If ya'll believe in prayer/good thoughts, now would be a good time....) However, he and I talked about it last night, and he said I should plan on ONE fly trip this tour, plus any driveables. But I'm still bouncing up and down on just the IDEA of Clay touring! EEEEEEEEE! And no matter where he goes during that time of the year, we'll have sweaty Clay! At least I don't think he'll be trying do dance in a leather jacket at the same time, though. :medium-smiley-070:
muskifest
Lawd Jesus...I must calm down. I've got my US map printed out and have now marked all the announced cities and dates on it with a yellow highlighter. what. I'm on my lunch hour. (I've also made a hotel reservation at the Pala Casino...just in case...they have a 48-hour cancellation policy with no penalties...reserved a room with two Queen beds, by the way....heh) Edited March 13, 2007 by muskifest

playbiller
20, only 20 - am I so greedy? I will be going to Philly with Fear (my birthday - awwww) And I guess I will be going down south in August. Hmm. I think the beach may be the closest. I have to figure it out now! It is not as if there is enough time to plan everything!!!1 - Nope, 1/2 closer from home. Edited March 13, 2007 by playbiller
muskifest
I wonder if those New York state venues are meant to appease the Canadian fans? So close yet so far? And I wonder if there are any extra costs or pain-in-the-ass procedures involved in making Canadian appearances that deter Team Clay? I honestly don't know. I'm having a hard time doing any work 'coss I just want to 'extrapolate' and finish marking my U.S. map with eight more dots of yellow highlighter! :medium-smiley-070:
Ansamcw
EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE do you guys want to consider the NC in August!!!
