  1. My big thrill today was finally figuring out, with some help, how to put videos on my Nano. So now I have the Gala songs on my IPod but I want more, more, I tell you. So..can anyone recommend a free programme that converts wmv into an mpeg4 so that I can d/l and carry around some of my favourite montages. Cindilu2 Congratulations on starting on your new path!
  2. here's another late one with wishes for A Very Happy Birthday, Cotton, and Best wishes for a Clay filled year!! (Oooo...that was fun)
  3. muskifest I really do think that you need give some warning before posting those photos. That third one in particular. Doesn't matter how many times I see that photo it still stirs the same reaction in me. Lotus fans herself...Lawdy lawdy!! Yesterday I saw David Archuleta on the Bonnie Hunt show. He is cute but such a little kid and I really think that he was too young for AI. I can see that he appeals to 'tweens the way the Jonas Brothers do but that won't last very long, not unless he can be seen to be cool enough for the upcoming 'tweens generation. Bonnie Hunt told him when times are great not to let it go to his head and when times get tough not to let it go to his heart. Good advice and I'm sure he'll need it. Monty Python has its own channel on You Tube Monty Python on You Tube I just finished watching the French Taunter scene and you know what? I think the Spamalot version is much funnier.
  4. Ah some of the many beautiful faces of Clay. Thanks for the banner cindilu. What a nice way for me to start my day as I sit here drinking coffee and reading the boards. And merieee thanks for the link to MDYK with clicks. That is such a lovely version.
  5. There are videos of Wanda Sykes stand up comedy on YouTube.
  6. Oops!!!!! I did mean Maddows. See...being a Clay fan the only Rachel last name that came unconsciously to my typing fingers was Ray. And even though in the interview http://www.whmp.com/pages/3230747.php it seems as tho' it was a joke that Clay is on her show, you know, she's gay, he's gay, the interview itself is a fun listen. And as is pointed out in the Young Turks video you get one liberal news commentator on MSNBC then ratings will rise, and now with two with Rachel Maddow, even more so. TV stations as well as people can change and, even if we might not like what they have done or said in the past, I welcome this change.
  7. I had not heard of Rachel Maddow until yesterday so I have been watching some video of her on You Tube and wish that I got MSNBC on my cable. Here is a commentary on her show after her ratings were higher than Oberman's.
  8. You just got home? Glad you're safe. WTH happened? The pilot forget his GPS?
  9. I just found this over at CV and it is well worth watching.
  10. I'm back from Houston and Austin, back from the sun and warmth to cold and grey and pelting rain the night I returned. I miss Texas. The night before I left I had dinner with KAndre, merieee and Scarlett. Delicious varied sushi buffet. It's a wonder I didn't burst. And such a fun evening though too short. It was such a treat to meet up with fans who are so enthusiastic, dare I say, obsessed with OMC and then to be propositioned by KAndre's GPS when she got me back to my daughter's was the icing on the cake. I do miss the almost daily video and photos we were having from Spamalot until recently and missing the excitement that I was feeling this time last year when I was looking forward to seeing him at the Minneapolis concerts. Sigh! Maybe it's time for me to do some Clack organizing and deal with the hundreds of photos that I have been unable to resist right clicking and saving.
  11. Waiting to see the next President of the United States and feeling so light in my heart...I never thought I would see this day.
  12. If it's 7:30 then let's make it Kirin2 - Japanese Seafood & Sushi Buffet (Lotus, it's just a couple of restaurants down from Macaroni Grill heading east on 1960 and there's lots of non-seafood dishes too in case you don't like seafood -- chicken teriyaki & grilled beef & steamed pork dumplings and more). This way we can sit and munch on edamame until you get there. (who am I kidding, I'll be munching on snow crab) I just don't want to sit in the office waiting for 7:30. I left at 6 pm today and it was pretty dark already. I think merrieeee gets off early too. Or if you guys are dead set on a Benihana-like (hibachi) Japanese place there is one on the other side of 249 but I have to think of the name. Lotus, would you please pm your cell? We tend to make last-minute decisions (in case you haven't noticed yet) On Topic: all i see are sparkling eyes and a huge grin that makes me weak in the knees -- was there anything else important i didn't catch? Oh, and these too! and ETA: Couchie, we NEED to go to Kirin on the next eHP SF trip! Great! Kirin2 at 7:30 Wednesday night. But I can get there at 700 if some of you will be there early also.
  13. I received this today from the Michael Palin for President Committee. So I did.
  14. I'm easy. Just tell me by 5pm Wednesday... or pick a country/cuisine and I'll find us something. what does Lotus want? ETA: thanks for bringing the pretty pics, annabear! There is a mall not far from where I am staying called Willowbrook on FM 1960 with lots of restaurants to choose from. As for type of restaurant, I'm easy. I have eaten at the Macaroni Grill and that was good. Could you all decide where and at what time, please? gibby thank for the link to the Hokey Pokey video. Anyone tell me how or from where I can down load it?
  15. Surely that can't be the total list of their artists...the list is so short. Where are the rest of them? If you go to RCA Home page You will find Clay there under New Releases.
  16. Back from having BBQ at the Salt Lick, am now trying to figure out which authors to see tomorrow..dang there are so many and half the ones I want to see are on at the same time. Just let me know when and where on Wednesday night and under whose name is the reservation.
  17. Scarlett I know I will regret not seeing it...but can't do much about it...am now in Austin...Blue Bell icecream is yummy and of to hear Andre Dubus III tonite. See u soon.
  18. Thanks for all the delicious photos. I am so happy to read that the team of goldarngirl and luckiest1 are doing a Best of the Gala and...doing it soon. I'm off to the Texas Book Festival tomorrow with a stop off at the Blue Bell Creamery where my daughter tells me they make the best ice cream in the Southwest and will be back for election day...should be very interesting for this Canadian. I was horrified when I saw the reports on up to 6 hour line-ups to vote, I've never had to wait more than a few minutes back home. And then DD showed me a sample ballot...OMG!! No wonder there are line ups. I'm just sorry that I will miss the International Quilt Festival http://www.quilts.com/fqm08/info/postcard.pdf Will you be attending Scarlett?
  19. Oh man, did I ever get sidetracked from packing by that photo site...a lot of right clicking and saving. And it must have taken me half an hour to create this post since I could not figure out how to insert the photos...the programme didn't like the links. Here are some early lovelies Zootopia 2003 Clay Aiken in Concert in NYC July 31, 2003 2003 World children's day at Ronald Mcdonald house GMA Summer Concert Series Sigh! I'm 13 again.
  20. They might write and say a lot of garbage about him but no one can ever question his work ethic http://www.jamd.com/search/?q=clay+aiken THis site has a colection of the best and worst photos of Clay Aiken. Oh bottlecap there are plenty of you know what photos!!!!! Wow this is a great photo site!! 29 pages each with 30 photos of Clay!! Thanks for the link. I have to say tho' that it was only the good ones I noticed.
  21. Wow 640 gb? What brand? I may just have one fall into my cart next time I'm there. I choose to take this appearance like this: 1) networking, networking, networking; and 2) showing off his balls of titanium. I may not have been able to do it, but he did. (Of course, I don't have balls, but you know what I mean....) I love the idea of early voting for those who need it, but I like going on that first Tuesday in November, before I go to work. It's just the ritual of the thing for me.... Well I am disappointed that Clay didn't have a change to fling some zingers himself but yes this shows just what titanium balls he has...to accept the invitation knowing that he would be roasted himself. I just talked with my daughter in Houston who say that the early voting turnout is big. I remember those images from November 2004 of the long line ups at polls where there were not enough machines or the machines had broken and no one was there to fix them and voters were very effectively disenfranchised.
  22. dsj11 Thanks for that link..I enjoyed the celebration of Betty's Sue Anne. I prefer humour that has a little subtlety about it. Humour that gives one credit for some intelligence which the "jokes" of Gilbert Gottfried are sorely lacking. ldyjocelyn I would think that Clay would have known that he would be the one guest who would be the target of the most jokes. I just hope he got some zingers in himself. Couch Tomato The Friars Club is a private club for people in entertainment and I guess like all such clubs is a place to network and make connections as well as relax. So sorry that you were not able to make it to the rally in what seems to be, IMHO, the most significant presidential race since the one which FDR won. Where would the country be today without the safe guards he put in place, at least the ones that subsequent administrations didn't gut. I hope your mother's health is improving.
  23. Well here is something to cheer you up. The programme for the roast today with OBF's name first on the list. I know, it's in alphabetical order but I still get a little thrill seeing his name at the top. It's a good thing that he titanium balls...he must have needed them today since he'll be roasted along with everyone else. Roast programme
  24. Sure is different here when so many of us are off in Raleigh. Here are some more photos from last night. Not particularly complimentary but it does give an idea of how Jerome immediately hustled Clay away from the E crew. WENN photos Now that cardigan he was wearing last night..I have a theory. IMO Clay gains weight easily and is very aware of it. He has mentioned his weight many times and did mention it to the person who reported on talking with him in the grocery store when she asked him about Breyers Peach Ice Cream. So, being thrifty, he has a sweater vest that he can wear now and also when he's gained weight, one that will hide his tummy.
  25. I second that....Election day in Canada. I hope all you Claynadians have already voted or will vote later today. The rain has stopped for now, the sun shining, the house cleaning and laundry done after having family here for the weekend. I spent time with my little grand daughters, 3 3/4 and 1 3/4 down at the beach. They had a wonderful time throwing pebbles and rocks into the water, I swear they could do it for hours. This afternoon I'll listen to Clay while I do much needed garden clean up. All of you going to the Gala this weekend have a marvelous time and bring back lots of Clack and recaps for us who would love to be there but are not able to attend.
