Stress class, my ass, couchie! You got your stress relief from our conversation! :medium-smiley-070: :cryingwlaughter:

Yeah that's true. I'm one of those people who hate people who talk on their cell phones while driving, yet Muski kept me company all the way to class. I was laughing and screaming and hooting and hollering all the way. Thanks Muski. But you know, the class has helped me because I'm handling this whole will she or won't she be joining us on the Calif4fer pretty well. No stress at all..just hope a good outcome for all..including spending at least one show with you. Or two. heee.

Watching the lyric show

so far:

I had the time of my life

Car Wash heee

Everything reminds me of Clay.

Speaking of Clay.. I totally love that guy. Yep, I know you save love for family and friends and people you know -not somebody you don't really know. But what the heck..I spend more more on him than I do some of my family and most of my friends. The bottom line for me has always been for him to be happy doing what he wants to do. That's all I'll ever want for him and I can't imagine not being here supporting him all the way. Sometimes all the junk gets in the way but I don't ever want to forget that.

I also wanted to remind people that this is your board. Please feel free to email or PM me about anything. You can say anything to me. I don't have a thin skin or a long memory. Anyway, suggestions and feedback is always welcome.

ETA: Fear! Hope you made it home! What a nightmare.

Also edited some things thanks to my girl bottle.

amen couchie...

today...showed me that I am really here for Clay. I will take my lead from him and I will support him in anything he does.

I still firmly believe that he can handle his own business. It won't always go his way...its won't be an easy road but he can handle it. I may feel sad for what he has to go through from time to time but I really don;t think he wants me to stress about it.

Good luck with the new job, Claygasm!

Sorry to hear you might not be able to make it to California, Muski. I was looking forward to meeting you.

As it is, I'm not sure I'm going to Pala, after all. The more I read about this long, winding road up to the casino, the less inclined I am to drive it alone, even for Clay. And I would be coming from Los Angeles, not San Diego. Not only is it a longer drive, but there doesn't seem to be anyone going the same way. Going to San Diego is not an option, for a variety of reasons. I just don't think I can take off two days, and now is not a good time for me to spend money on hotel rooms.

I'm sorry I'll miss all the fun, but I still have the Greek concert. I'd love to meet up with many of you before that one.

I'm heading off to bed in a few minutes but had to drop by to say how great tonight's was. I thoroughly enjoyed myself, so much tonight. I met lickiest1 and cindilu2 in the theatre and standing in the bus line I was next to sylvie and kavanaugh who I also met for the first time. I didn't make the acquaintance of the security guard who stayed right at the end of the infamous Row 4 all night! I left my camera in my purse because the row was really open, the ambient light was fairly bright, and I was four seats in from the end of the row. I've never felt so exposed before.

But the concert was fab. The acoustics amazing and Clay came over and sang on this bit of the stage that wrapped around the end of Row 4 twice and that was very very nice indeed.

I do have to say though, the lighting was so good, I was heartsick over the evil-security-guy-but-probably-a-nice-family-man-doing-his-job-person at the end of the row. Anyway, the bed is calling. The guy can sure sing. Yessireee!

Love that meet and greet pass!

Dance? Honey, the only dance this picture makes me think of is a horizontal one....and he's snapping his finger for the next illustrative interpretation of the moves on the next pages of the Kama Sutra!

from CH:

There are some good meet & greet recaps on the OFC, with some good tidbits. For instance, Clay would have chosen "Lonely No More" or "These Open Arms" for his first single, if it had been his choice. And *sob* he does not seem to love BFM and doesn't expect it to show up in concert or on a CD.

moving my deeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeep question...

OK I have a deeeep deeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeep question..one I don't get or understand and that I hope someone can explain to me. What the hell is self tanner and why on earth does Clay use it.. and is it liquidy or is it a tanning salon.what? If it is liquidy, how do you cover your entire body or do you? LOL This is not in my world and have never given it a second thought. I love my pasty white boryfriend and I like him pasty and white. What's the deal.

I think Lonely No More and These Open Arms would have been much better choices for a single. And what, he doesn't like Back For More? I think I need more context on that one. I like that song but somebody ask him about Tears Run Dry..Now that is the song I love and miss and want a recorded version of. I'm satisfied with concert versions of BFM.

BWAH..Muski..it's been two week since I've seen you..my SMUT gene is in need of repair..I looked at his hands and not his face..heee

ETA since I'm the only one up apparantly... I was so proud of myself for kicking my soap habit about 7 years ago...but now I'm hooked on General Hospital again. How the hell did that happen. I hate soapnet..the only reason this is an issue at all. heeee. Anyway, due to stress class I missed the 7 pm showing now have to stay up until midnight to see Jason kick some skank ass bootie. I've been waiting forever for this..THIS IS THE NIGHT heee.

I musta missed what ya'll are stressing about or whatever happened (I did see a shitload of lurkers here today - like 75 or so... wow!), but I most definitely agree with this sentiment. Dude gets paid a ton o' cash to do some things he loves and some things that probably aren't so fun. He had to grow up kinda fast there for a bit, but he's settling in nicely it seems. He's a sarcastic shit and I bet all that snark helps him deal, but I don't think he's really feeling all that sorry for himself and he certainly doesn't need me coddling him along. I just can't see him as anything but strong and smart as hell.

Suggestions and Feedback? Everything here is just perfect IMO. I feel free to express myself alongside people who may not always agree with me, but treat my thoughts and opinions with respect nonetheless. Who can complain about that? Not me!

:F_05BL17blowkiss:

Squeeee... my Kav and Sylvie are here! I get to see them in six days! Oh, and Clay too!

I lurve that shirt...and that hairdo from Philly. Yum. I get Dent, Ears, Sideburns... all the good stuff. Hee.

Clay Acres!? Never heard of that one? Hmm... Is there a tractor?

BWAH! Self-tanner is liquid or gel or even spray. For us pasty whites. But yeah, I prefer natural pretty much everything. Er, except apparently my own gray hairs.

Stealing this from the OFCMB... sue me:

He asked if anyone had any questions, so I spoke up and asked him if the song, “Back for More” might be resurrected at some time in the future either on a CD or in concert. He said “probably not.” He said“the song doesn’t really do it for me.” I said “ARE YOU KIDDING ME??? Didn’t you see us all in the audience with our arms in the air singing along with that song?” He laughed and said that he just doesn’t feel the song fits with the direction the CD may go in I guess. I then asked if we were to assume that the next CD would be all original material. He said if he had ANYTHING to do with it, it certainly would be. You could see how strongly he felt about this and he did say that he feels he may have to fight for it, but he said he was prepared to “stick to his guns” and do it. He said it may end up taking a long time, but he wants to do it. I could just tell how badly he really wants this. He said he really dislikes the “politics” that go on with this type of thing. He does feel that his new producer is on the same page as he is and hopes all goes well. He still couldn’t tell us a name for him yet. As far as releasing singles, he said that he really has no say at all as to what is picked. He said he can offer his opinion, but usually it doesn’t work that way. He told us that his pick for a single would have been “Lonely No More” or “These Open Arms”. He also said that “These Open Arms” is his favorite song to sing right now along with the TV theme medley. When asked what song he’s tired of singing, he said “1000 Days” and he said that he NEVER gets tired of singing “Invisible”! He mentioned that the most difficult song for him to sing is “This is the Night.”

Heh, I quit GH cold turkey on May 22, 2003. And now I'm all hooked again. I DVR it and watch it about once a month in a marathon. I'm behind about a month right now. I wish I could put it on my iPod and take it on the plane... ooo, I'll have to look into that somehow!

Good luck with your job tomorrow, Claygasm! I'll miss my twin around here!

YSRN...you saying something? Huh? heee :F_05BL17blowkiss:

Clay Acres!? Never heard of that one? Hmm... Is there a tractor?

bwah... I thought I had read every Muski story...don't know how I missed it. Is it at EAYOR?

BWAH! Self-tanner is liquid or gel or even spray. For us pasty whites. But yeah, I prefer natural pretty much everything. Er, except apparently my own gray hairs.

Oh god, heee gray hair is the worst. OK nappy as it is right now... my hair is still soft - but those gray hairs are so course. And it's coming in way too fast. OK speaking of hair...I have quite the dilemma brewing... what to do with my hair for this damn trip. My hair hasn't seen chemicals or heat in a LONG time so am scared to go that route. I've had so many beauty shop disasters. (Lord how does Clay stand to do so many damn treatments). The last time I got a perm it was the last time ...and most of my hair fell out from it after like 3 minutes of having the stuff in my hair. It must have been pure lye or something. Can't believe I'm actually considering to that again. I also may go buy me some hair and have it braided. What to do what to do?

Thanks for bringing that over. Very interesting. And see really not worth all the lurking. I agree with your sentiment YSRN.

But the important part I bolded. .

Squeeeeeeeeeeeeeee why does that turn me on. The guy really really knows who he is and what he wants. I truly believe that. Jaymes said it long again. And I'm ready to hear it. I just really think he's going to suprise us. I really do. Not in change the world type thing but really just find the place he fits.

Anybody have any thoughts on this? I mean I liked BFM but just thought it wasn't too different from MoaM songs. Is he talking about the sentiment of the song? Does he want a theme? So intriguing. Can't wait to hear more. And I really love the set up of meet and greets.

hee have to open a soap thread...but once a month...eek I'll have to be careful. you'll have to tell me where you are.

Enjoy your concert...now what's up with Cali!!

oooh I see cha cha trusty down there.. POUNCE...meant to thank you for the update of your daughters...can't believe they are doing this WITHOUT THEIR LUGGAGE. wow. What troopers. Looks like they're realling getting into the spirit of things. What an adventure.

ITA about BFM sounding just like another song from MOAM. And he did not have anything to do with choosing those songs either. I can't wait to "hear" what HE wants! I want to know what else he can write about too.

I am a bit worried as to what happened regarding his next CD. I get the uncomfortable feeling (probably just indigestion from my burger) that the cryptkeeper is starting to back paddle on his supposed promise to let Clay make the CD he wanted. I'm sure speculation will abound after tonights comments from Clay.

I'll stick my hand out there and see if anybody bites - Wondering if the KC issue plays into it in some way. Perhaps now Clive is thinking/saying "See, I need to maintain total and ultimate control over you kids". Or....maybe not.

Hey I'm still up and now can't sleep so I'll continue to postho and talk to you treenuts...Well BFM is a song he introduced when he was trying out material for his album. I mean if that wasn't something he really connected with he sure fooled the heck out of me and actually throws my thinking into disarray. Doesn't seem like he was mourning this on his CD and that just blows my mind? BACK FOR MORE? Isn't this a song he and Jaymes picked out? Crazy! Funny! I mean I thought that was a shoe in for the mystery nobody has ever heard album. heee. But was it? Is his vision different from what it was 2 years ago? That really intrigues me. Maybe writing a song or coming up with these great arrangements for ATDW influenced him in some way.And equally funny is that he is tired of ATD? WHAT? I thought he loved that one with all of his heart. heee. I think I might have been on the train that thought he wrote it. The man is an enigma which keeps me highly amused and keeps me around. I mean those two sentiments just killed whatever I thought I knew about Clay and his last album. I know absolutely nothing. hee.

Well my hope is he doesn't take any advice from Kelly :cryingwlaughter: I don't know about any supposed promises. Everything has been speculation and I learned a long time ago that speculation in this fandom means absolutely nothing although much of it becomes fact. Sometimes it's hard to remember that some tidbit was just joe blow's meaningless post on a message board and not something real. I actually have a good feeling. Stupid maybe but hey. I'll be like Scarlett and think about it next year - after his two tours are over. .

Speaking of Invisible..Clay could have fit that song in at the end of the to 40 medley. That would have been a hoot. I actually think ATD would be a much better song if sung faster. I thought it was during JBT. I may need to go back and watch that clack.

Interesting thought whether or not BFM was on the or one of the albums he and Jaymes put together before the chiefy pulled a wonka on him. We may never know what was on that/those CDs.

As for taking advice from Kelly, I doubt it. He doesn't seem to react to others actions or situations. At least not from what I've seen. And as for speculation....No way! I know what I heard him say on Kimmel and they were his words not a blogger or poster or a MB somewhere. He definitly said he was going to be doing something different and fresh and was excited about that. I'm only hoping that based upon tonights comments he made in NY(both in the M&G and on stage) that chiefy hasn't suddenly gone back on whatever understanding they had. And hopefully he's not gunshy about letting Clay have his own way with the next CD due to the issues with Kelly's most recent one and her going against his so called better judgement.

As for ATD, I believe he had changed the tune up a few times on it before recording it. I actually like that song....like lots.

I'm still holding out hope that he is going to add IYDKMBN by the time they get to Cali. Simply because they know we are special and of course he has heard I so desparately want to hear him sing this live.

drinkkkk much, Sally?

The only part speculative is that he was promised something IMO..Clay has never said that. But I totally agree..the man is quite capable all on his own. I'd love to hear Broken Wings, Lonely No more, AND IYDKMBN in California. He has been known to add to his show but I'm not holding my breath. And TV Medley is his favorite. goofball. .

Claygasm Good luck today!! I am hoping to find something after California so I can have MY name on a paycheck again....unfortunately it might be nights and retail....we shall see how it all works out....miss my old job and the money...I really had it good there....the boss was difficult but wasnt around most of the time...

STILL can't believe we will be in California.....now I am stressing because in order to get to the airport we have to leave at 2a.m. I am not much of a night driver....we come home around 11 pm too...couldnt use the airport here because that cost WAYYYYYYYY to much...grrr...

Next CD? well, I will wait and see...not speculate or worry, just hope a bit.....I hope he finally gets to make the one he wants. I am still waiting for the one simply titled Clay Aiken!!!

I assume all those extra guests last night were due to a CH poster linking to the scan of the M&G sticker ldyjocelyn posted last night. That kinda freaked me out! Particularly since my post directly after her's suggested running Clay's cargo shorts through a combine and included an animation of a carrot on a tractor. If a bunch of strangers are reading one of my posts, I would have wanted it to be something a little more intellectual and insightful. HA!

Claygasm............Good luck on your new job today. It is hard to go back to work for someone else when you have had your own business for so long. I know from experience. It's hard to take orders from someone when you know they are wrong. Hard to give a 110% of yourself when others around you are barely doing 50%, and you can't say anything to them or fire their asses. :cryingwlaughter: But, somehow you manage and you do what you need to do because you need to do it.

He sounds so good and just gets better and better.

I will miss him while I'm in England next week but I will just have to console myself with tickets to see Orlando Bloom :hubbahubba: in a play in London! No good seats left but I'm in the house. Hi to all the luverly lurkers!

Sure wish I was going to England with you. Always wanted to go there and Australia. Well many places really. Since Clay came along I have this big old urge to go to Raleigh and pull me up some blades of grass, too. Check out the local Sears store and their carpet samples. Get me some of that North Carolina Crunch Clay ice cream. Do the Clay museum. Well, you get the picture. :cryingwlaughter:

couchie, I think he knows who he is and what he wants too. I just don't always think it is the same thing that his label wants. That's the breaks. Happens to lots of artists. He's not the first or the last.

Well we don't know for sure, treenuts, what will happen to his next cd, yet, so I don't plan to let the angst take me over. I'm so glad we have FCA to come to, so we don't have to listen to the angst that drove many of us here to begin with.

lydjocelyn, thanks for the pics. I understand the tanning thing, but God, I have to say I miss those hairy arms. I wish the spray tanning didn't require that he have to do that. I feel like crying when I see pics of those bald arms.

Hey y'all

I just posted a partial recap in the Syracuse thread but I am not caught up at all, and will have to finish it later. But are you telling me I missed SKIN last night? Because that black shirt was seriously long and even covered most of his butt. I am surprised that it rode up that much in front, I sure never saw it. But the camera does not lie!

He did roll his sleeves up in the 2nd half and some people in our group said there was no arm hair. I cannot say one way or the other because my eyes are just not good enough for those kind of details. I'm lucky I can see him at all!

The concert last night was amazing and I can't wait to do it all over again tonight. Now off to get dressed for breakfast. :F_05BL17blowkiss:

Oh, and ldyj, just to let you know....I touched Clay at the buses, too! wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!!!!

Random thoughts ..... Bad arm hair day? OMG, too funny!!!!

Back for More? As one who has been accused of schloppily loving everything Clay does ... I never liked BFM in any way, shape or form. Sorry to the lovers of this song, but the song had zero appeal for me. Tears Run Dry was for me the best new song from JBT. Of course, I never saw BFM performed live, but watched every piece of Clack that I was told would do it for me ... and nothing ever did. Not the GMA performance or at any time during JBT. To me, the song strained Clay's voice, and the music and lyrics were pedestrian. I, for one, never ever understood the appeal of this song, other than perhaps fans were just excited to pump their arms and play Clay's a Rock Star, when there's nothing remotely rock about BFM to me. Invisible is a thousand times superior to BFM, again my opinion.

As to ATDW, I've always believed that Without You was released as a single to showcase Clay's voice because I think only a handful of current artists would even dare attempt it, and certainly not to sing regularly or on tour. But, for radio song, my sister and I disagreed from the get go. I thought Lonely No More was the obvious radio single, and my sister was passionate for These Open Arms. The first time she heard the snippets she called the album for These Open Arms ... and then when the complete songs were available, she loved it even more and TOA and Broken Wings were her distinct favorites. She told me over and over and over that if Clay wanted a radio hit that These Open Arms would do it for him. I don't think I'm going to tell her about this, she was so adamant about it. Needless to mention she was tha-rilled to hear him sing it in Houston and Tulsa. The M&G report that Clay would have preferred LNM or TOA as a single is way cool to me. I certainly don't know Clive's process, but from observation I'm wondering ... does the artist go out and make the album they want and then turn it in to the label for either a green light or a turn down, and if a turn down then a knock down drag out or acquiescence or both?

And ... have I missed something about the people lurking here? I know I spent almost all of yesterday at the hospital, so has something been said or done that is top secret, or something that everybody knows about but me, because that wouldn't be a first.

Cindilu, I'm running far behind here, but I have your gorgeous Houston LAA wallpaper on my desktop and it is the Most Beautiful Evah!! Thank you so very much for this ... IMO it's one of the very best wallpapers ever created. You are fantastic!!!

Spray-on tans? I think everybody in the business does it since torching and scorching fabulous skin shouldn't even be an option. Clay has made it so plain that he wants TV. He loves TV. He loves TV theme songs and I think he's probably thinking about his very own TV theme song (and Invisible seems like a super choice to me). If he gets the TV show he really wants, he'll either have to have a tan, or he'll have to wear lots of make-up. A spray tan is probably the best option under the circumstances. From the pictures, he look absolutely wonderful.

Eureka!

Watching the classics from last night ( :F_05BL17blowkiss: Scarlett!), I know what's up with the spray tanning...

...he's got a girl who wants to be crazy about his farmer tan!

Ok, I'm leaving now before I get pelted....

*Am I going to have to explain what exactly a "farmer tan" is to you city slickers?*

This "City Girl" is very familiar with what a farmer's tan is, and also can't wait to see the tractor driver chugging along live and in person. Soon - and that's the normal definition, not the Clay version of soon. :whistling-1:

Till me, bay-bee!!! :DoClay:

I may actually post something totally coherent today from the posts I've seen...but after seeing Scarlett's classics clip from last night, specifically 6:30 - 6:36, I think I'm dead. GET IT NOW!

We've got something to replace this now, if someone makes a gif of it that is.... *begs*

Well...since I gave up worry in my life about 10 years ago I don't think I'll be doing any of it over the future CD either. What ever happens, happens. I certainly have no control over it and I plan to enjoy the rest of the tour and beyond.

:allgood:

BFM? Maybe Clay really just doesn't like the song enough to bring it back. I thought it was fun in concert, but when I played an mp3 of it for my 20 somethings they were very meh with it and I had to agree. IMO it loses something in the translation. I also have doubts about the idea of it being a big fat radio hit. I think I know how that goes. With support...maybe, without it...no way. IMO, on it's own it's just an awright song. Nothing to write home about. I think if Clay said what he said in the M&G about BFM in those words then maybe it didn't really make it very far in their initial select-a-song process. Playing it every night at the end of the concert was good for the whole flow of the show ... so it really did work in that context. I never read anything into it beyond that. I don't ever recall him saying anything about the song itself after that. In fact I remember an interview (was it the podcasts?) where he basically said after the JBT they put those songs away and didn't go back to them until much later in the process and then the only one that stuck out was ATD. But of course others may remember other things that Clay has said about the song.

eta ... or what keepingfaith said above me... *highfives*

Ironically (or not *g*) I'm also in the the notafanofTOUCHclub....which has gotten me accused of being all shades of horrendous things on the boards over the years. Hee.

Hee. It amuses me to no end how up and down these things are. And how often my two intense fandoms mirror each other. We open the second half w/a sweep of a good team from the left coast and we're on top of world and ready to make a run for the penant. A few days later we lose back to back games to the best offensive team in baseball by a combined 2 runs while getting a couple of amazing pitching performances from a rookie and an ace and the season is over people. Well...I ain't givin' up yet. Nope...not me. :RedGuy:

edited for clarity...clarity is good.

I assume all those extra guests last night were due to a CH poster linking to the scan of the M&G sticker ldyjocelyn posted last night.

BWAH, thanks Bottle well that makes perfect sense. Hey we never have stuff fast, only eventually heee and thanks to you and Play and others that bring things over. It was disconcerting to learn they were real live people and not bots and now we've scared them away forever :cryingwlaughter: . I'm like Clay, who jokes that the same 3000 people see all of his shows...I'm used to talking to my same 20 girlfriends.

Clay should add the Living Single theme song...let Quiana and Ang do some Queen Latifah. I was thinking of that song yesterday because of hte line "glad I have my girls." Do we have an offical song? :cryingwlaughter:

What's a farmer tan?

bwah... well unfortunately I don't see my team doing one of its amazing runs.

Keepingfaith: I just don't know how you get the stuff on evenly and cover everything. How long does it take?

Yes the voice really is shown off on Without You. But it's also the song most like the orginal and that brings it's own criticisms. Hearing him talk about these things though makes me think he's really astute though.

Happy Thursday peeps.

Still smiling about Clay loving that TV medley and theme songs. I don't know why I'm so tickled. I think because it's the Clay I love. No matter how much we try to explain him away - it's amazing how the Clive made me do it I see in comments that explain away his choices - and then he turns around and does TV theme song medley and it's one of his favorite things. That wasn't forced on him and it's chessier than anything on ATDW and that's my Clay. God I love him.

Between that, his comments about ATD and BFM I will NEVER be able to figure him out and actually I prefer it that way. I'll be the first to admit I don't have him figured out and can't really say WHAT he has in mind for the new album. I find that kinda fun actually. Surprise me Clay.
