ldyjocelyn
OK, question: is listening to some of these songs on repeat torture, or do you get anything out of the repeated listenings? Because I'm in the get something new camp. I've been hearing things tonight I've never heard before, and I've been listening to the album almost non-stop since the first day! He's a master, that Clay guy.
SilverAngel
"But in a room alone with him...Heh" Too funny, but way true~!
FearofH2O
Another song I enjoy. Who am I kidding I like them all. Rather than protools I think they may be using some effects at the very end of Clay's voice on Oooo, ooo,oo. If I remember physics at all, I think it may be changing the length of the sound waves of his voice and the instrument to make them sound alike. This is definitely a showcase song which is interesting and fun.
Ansamcw
Well maybe thats why I love this cos I am not that familiar with the other versions... hee....it definitely is pop.... but there are so many parts that enjoy here, many moments that I just go ah. Oh I do hope he changes this up in concert. But I guess he was trying to change it up from the original so it went pop instead. find the breathy hawahay....very sexy. I love go oooooon and free.... oh and mooooove....and the falsetto on go on....see so many little moments I totally enjoy. and of course the ooooooooooooo in the end
ldyjocelyn
This song. Concert. Eyef**k. Yep, the pieces fit. I'm not crazy about the chick with the echo of the first chorus. That was a bit jarring for me.

Couch Tomato
i actually love listening to them over and over because while I do have it playing at work it's in hte background and i'm in and out of it...can't really concentrate. Some of these songs are still fresh to me. Haven't quite worn them out yet. the repeated listens to kind of let me know which ones I love versus just the ones I merely like. ldyjocelyn
This song showed me a LOT of vocal growth in Clay. It's not all wailing, but a different Clay, IMO. So soft, a very caring voice. And it's sad, so sad... The guitar work is excellent. Andy will have a field day with this in concert.
Ansamcw
I like this...almost love...but not one of my favorites. I lovee the guitar and his voice...but I think I need a bit more heartbreak... and I find the meees a bit too hard. But again so many moments that I do enjoy.... playbiller
OK, I admit it, this song is my favorite song on the album. Of course ans I prepare to write a long reply the bouncing ball sounds in the background. I guess someone woke up. I will be back in a few minutes. ldyjocelyn
OMG, that last note... To revive an old phrase...Thud. Gah, that is beautiful. I've always loved this song, always thought it was the best Elton John song ever. Elton's version is rougher, and again, more piano (duh, since he's a piano player). So the arrangement slays me. dmclovesomc
I think this whole cd is soft and relaxing. A nice change of pace. But I am still looking forward to his next cd being a faster more peppy one.
Ansamcw
yeah the guitar is masterful... I love how it starts and yes I do apprecaite that this is one of his more subtle performances. He will be so gorgeous during the concert for sure... I LOVE his falsetto voice here. In the past he seem a bit hesitant with the falsetto but not here. oh and I love the little wails... uhhhooooh sigh...so sexy
ldyjocelyn
Hi dmclovesomc! I think this album alternately relaxes me and energizes me -- just as some of his faster stuff wears me out! Hee. This song is one big emotional roller coaster for me. The longing in his heart is amazing, from what I can hear.
Claygasm
I love the Spanish guitar. Its sounds so sad. I just wish Clay sounded as sad...... I think his voice is a tad on the high side on this. But its still a little gut wrenching to me because I can't help but think he's thinking of BOTH his fathers when he sings this....... This is one of the ones I like. Not love, but definitely like. I just wish he had a little more sadness and lowness in his voice..... FearofH2O
Very nice interpretation of this song. I get the feeling of longing rather than sorrow in Clay's voice. Perhaps he is regretting what has happened rather than feeling remorseful and is longing for another chance. Is this stretching?
SilverAngel
I love this whole CD. I realize that I am one of the lucky ones. So many wanted a different kind of CD this time around. I feel really certain that those people will get that the next time around. In the meantime, I am just loving A Thousand Different Ways and can't wait to see Clay do some of the songs in the tour in 2007. This is really fun to see what you all have to say. So glad that I could be here with each and all of you. SilverAngel xoxoxoox
dmclovesomc
I love the cd. Right now I am listening to the one I got today that I won from the Fox news contest. ( I got my 8 copies..LOL )
ldyjocelyn
This one in concert. Hmmm. Not sure how that will work, for some reason. I think this is gonna be one cool concert, regardless.
