Actually, I am amazed at the number of people goingto NYC for the first time from all over the country/world. Another example of learning a lot as a Clay fan.

Also another example as to why we should all be getting bigger tax rebates than the general public - we have, do and will be putting it right back into supporting the economy in various towns all over the country!

Aiken is expected to tour the U.S. this summer, beginning in July.

EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!

Bring it on CUTE singerman!

OMGOMGOMGOMG!!!

EEEEEEE !!!

Tour starting in July!

I wonder if that will change??

Lordy! There had better be some indoor venues!! I hatessess - I mean I CAN. NOT. TAKE. THE. HEAT!!!

This find makes me verra verra happy!!!

Hey, Playbiller! I can't get away with that much! I haven't been able to kiss the Real Aiken! :cryingwlaughter: Just his likeness (Y'all know I didn't kiss a NYCity bus, fercryinoutloud! I just hugged it. Ewww!) on a Nu Yawk Citay bus!

I loved seeing the city. I have been before. Way back in '70, my Ex and I lived at McGuire AFB in NJ, but he wasn't very adventuresome and I was 20! Young and stoopid and not very wordly!

In '81, DH and I went to see Phantom on July 4th with his Sis and BIL who live in Maine. It was the most amazing show! The singing! The acting! The SET! Amazing! A completely different experience from Spamalot!

I've also seen theater in London - I saw Godspell there when EX and I were stationed at Bentwaters-Woodbridge AFB. Saw a straight show, too, though I can't remember the title. There was a running misunderstanding re: Blue Films - a comedic mystery. Fun - but I love me some musicals!

I love seeing the OMWH details flutter out! Such fun! I don't mind not seeing anything about it a OFC or RCA. Clay's fans always ferret stuff out before they are ready for The Press Release, anyway, so I don't think we'll ever hear it first from official channels. That's okay by me!

:laola0: :laola0: :laola0:

DH went to the boat today (casino boat). I sent him off with strict instructions to get busy and start my Tour Fund!!! :cryingwlaughter:

I just have had a premonition! :)

KarenEh I just finished reading the latest 2 entries to your blog. It is a fascinating look into a world so very different in many ways.

I watched part of the dance performance but I gotta say after 2 minutes of watching those dancers landing on their shins I had to stop cause I was wincing so much. I hope you get a 4 ringed working kitchen stove soon. What a hassle making meals with just one burner.

How wonderfully exciting...can it be true? A tour in July. I wonder how long it will be before the announcements of venues start. I wonder if he will ever have a tour with all the dates announced at once. I wonder if he will have a band this time. I suppose that might depend partly on the response to the new CD. I'm just babbling here. EEEEEEEEE!!!!

More photos of the audience. Spamalot Anniversary in 3D

You use your $600 tax stimulus check! That is, if it wasn't already earmarked for paying off your Spamalot travel bills.... :whistling-1:

Playbill on the new Sir Galahad - he looks (I was gonna say CUTE, but that's reserved!) ruggedly handsome.

Dean Will Succeed Sieber in Broadway's Spamalot

By Andrew Gans

March 21, 2008

The Tony Award-winning musical Monty Python's Spamalot will welcome a new Galahad March 25.

Bradley Dean, who played the roles of Sir Dennis Galahad, The Black Knight and Prince Herbert's Father in the national tour of Spamalot, will assume those roles on Broadway at the Shubert Theatre. Dean succeeds Christopher Sieber, who has been cast as Lord Farquaad in the Broadway-bound Shrek the Musical.

The cast of Monty Python's Spamalot currently features Tom Deckman, David Hibbard, Jonathan Hadary, Clay Aiken, Rick Holmes, Brad Oscar, Hannah Waddingham, Kevin Covert and Matthew Crowle.

Bradley Dean has been seen on Broadway in Company, Man of La Mancha and Jayne Eyre and in the national tours of Spamalot and Evita. His regional credits include productions of No Way to Treat a Lady, Falsettos, The Caretaker, Loot, The Tempest and the title roles in Phantom, The Scarlet Pimpernel and Macbeth. Dean's screen credits include "All My Children" and "Guiding Light."

I cannot afford a summer tour!!! I can't!!! I have spent waaaaay too much money on Spamalot!

AND I am not eligible for vacation time until the end of July.

AND I only get 2 lousy weeks now!

How am I supposed to be a concert ho with no money and so little vacation time??? :cry4:

**Prays there are lots of driving distance concerts on Saturdays and Sundays**

bottlecap, he is cu....ur, ruggedly handsome. Hee. And my $600 check will probably be used to pay my Spamalot bills, sadly. I'm with CG in that I have to hope for close (to me) weekend shows, because I think flying for this tour is pretty much out of the question. My husband and I have also just put down a payment on a week at Disney World in November, so I need to be saving for that as well. Plus, you know Clay will do a Christmas tour....

Broadwayworld.com has photo coverage of the Spamalot in 3-D here. There's a picture from the stage of the mezzanine and balcony -- so I wonder if playbiller can find herself in the crowd!

Oooo! I just remembered I have a free Southwest ticket I earned from being a concert ho during the DCAT (when I was unemployed!).

I need to amend my prayer....

**Prays there are lots of driving distance concerts on Saturdays and Sundays AND at least one where Southwest flies that borders a weekend so I can fly free and see as many concerts as possible using as little vacation time as possible. **

I am off to the side and they keep showing mid orchestra. The theater was really packed that night, should be some good figures for the theater out next week.

YOu can wallow in your 600 dollar checks - did you know you have to have EARNED income to get it - so it leaves out the people who are still unemployed and fell off the unemployment rolls. Nope they just drop us from the unemployment rolls and drop us from any benefits. You would think there would be a benefit for spending more than you earn in any fashion.

Wheeeeeeeeeeeee! Summer tour! Now, this is Billboard, so can we take it as more than just a rumour? I'm not really sure anymore about what is a reliable source of information. I would think that we should be hearing news of venues pretty soon if it's true.

As broke as I am gonna be after May 4th (not to mention OMWH x 7 on May 6th), I can't help but do the happy dance over this news! :00000441:

A few weeks ago, I posted that the broker I use told me that Clay would be doing an Amphitheatre tour this summer. He was hearing buzz from venues and promoters. I prefaced that by saying I couldn't vouch for the reliability of my source, so the information should be considered a rumor.

Coincidentally, I spoke with that broker yesterday, and asked if he had heard anything more about a tour. He said, no, just the same....starting in July into August. I asked him about the geographic area. He said he heard NATIONAL tour...all areas.

This is my first post here and it is to give a huge THANK YOU to DesertRose (hope I got that right) for her kindness at the stage door on Tuesday night 3-18. Clay sort of passed by my daughter Chris as she was seated in her wheelchair and the playbills came sailing over her head. DesertRose gently called Clay's attention to Chris and he very sweetly spoke to her and made sure we had gotten his autograph (We had brought Learning to Sing for the occasion).

It was terribly sweet of her to do this for a total stranger, to take the risk of tugging on the Aiken in a way he might not have liked, but it went beutifully, so I came here to let you all know - she rocks!!.

But you probably already knew that.

ETA Desertflower!!! Damn! I knew I'd get that wrong.

Blame Clay.

Yes, annabear...he does indeed look like a superhero just about ready to grab the prize(s) after rescuing fair damsel... :cryingwlaughter:

So I just got back home from taking MuskiDaughter#1 to the BART station to join all the others on the school trip. I gave her a big hug, told her I miss her already but am sooooo excited for her and then they were gone. On their way to SFO and British Airways to London, then Madrid. From there---busing it through Spain and Portugal. And Hubby just called after landing safely in Philly (I told him to yell "HEY!" to you, Claygasm!). He'll take the train Tuesday to NYC to join me there. Then....

SPAM! wonderful SPAM!

SPAM, SPAM, SPAM, SPAM....

Wooo Hooo! So Gibby, you and Mr. Gibby decided where we're going to eat Wednesday? Somewhere cheap, I hope.

IU Gal... hope you stick around and join us now and then, not just as a wham, bam, thank you ma'am (desertflower)... :cryingwlaughter::cryingwlaughter: Does IU mean Illinois U or Indiana U or that thing some used to use for birth control? :cryingwlaughter:

muski... so you and your youngest are alone. Good luck! :cryingwlaughter: I remember sending my daughters (17 months apart in age) off to Europe for 6 weeks on their own when youngest graduated from college. Sent them with money, a Youth Hostel pass and a Eurrail pass and everything in me crossed that they came back in one piece. They had some stories, I tell you! :cryingwlaughter:

Jonathan Cohen, N.Y.

Just as his stint starring in the Broadway hit "Spamalot" concludes, Clay Aiken will return with his first album of entirely new material since 2003's "Measure of a Man."

Due May 6 via 19 Recordings/RCA, Aiken's "On My Way Here" was produced by Kipper, best known for his work with Sting and Chris Botti. The album will likely include the title track and a song called "Ashes," but no other details about the project have yet been made available.

Aiken is expected to tour the U.S. this summer, beginning in July. He will also be visible on TV shows such as "Good Morning America" and "The View."

"Measure of Man" debuted at No. 1 on The Billboard 200. Aiken has since released 2004's "Merry Christmas With Love" and 2006's all-covers "A Thousand Different Ways."

EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!

EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!!!!!!!

:laola0: :laola0: :laola0:

Being one of the pathetic few (I mean, really...what are there, 5 of us?) that didn't get to Spamalot, I can't begin to say how exicted I am about a summer tour! And since I didn't blow my bank account on NY trips, I'll be able to travel pretty much wherever I need to. Still and all, though, I'm crossing my fingers for some drivable concerts. I like to start out the tour with a small trip within driving distance, then make a big trip of it later in the tour. Kinda like foreplay preceeding the Big Event. :whistling-1: And since it's been a long dry spell for me, I'm likely to turn into a OMWH concert slut.
