I agree.  I thought Roger's comment was perfect.

<<<<<<< Lost in MD>>>>>>

I truly hesitate to put a link to the source of the quote...but if anyone wants to read it just pm me.

Yes it is great...they sure know how to handle this problem.

Good morning folks,

Hope this finds everybody in good form today.

I want to add my two cents worth :PGO TEAM CLAY. This has been a roller coaster week (one that I want to get off of now!!), but like the song "I will survive", I think everybody has come out of this in one piece.

On to better times ahead with a new CD (although we have no idea of the content or idea for said CD), music videos, more clack that we can haul a stick at (hopefully) and a tour of some kind, unless OMC is Broadway Bound or has just one venue (ala, Las Vegas and Celine Dion). I don't see the latter happening, because as OMC has said numerous times "I like going to small towns" and touring.

Again, like I said that is my two cents worth this morning.

ya'll it's ok to post the "rep" quote

You caught me Ms Tomato...I was just too lazy to read the tiny prints and type it up but I found it somewhere else:

ok...this is what the rep of Clay said in the end of star article...people simply assume its Roger:

"Clay's on a flying saucer with his alien parents, busy kidnapping monkeys. We cannot comment till he gets home from Pluto."

this could be found in the end of the Star article.

That rollercoaster analogy is particularly apt, isn't it georgiaclay? I keep thinking things have finally leveled off, and we get another unexpected drop or tunnel, which ultimately will be followed with the long, nail-biting, seems-to-take forever chug up to the top of the hill of the CD release. And then, hold on to your lungs, bay-bees, 'cause I think that ride is going to go supersonic. The anticipation is close to killing me, and the ride should effectively finish me off. Who wants my pins when I'm dead? ;)

clay4shore, is "too damn many" a number? ;) I'm askeered to count.

[bottlecap makes a note to double-check that her seatbelt and safety bar are functioning properly for her seat on the Aikenator Express. If I "accidently" fall out, you know who the prime suspect will be.... ]

EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!

DUALDISC! FIRST HALF OF 2006!

EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!

From this Reuters article:

Sony BMG is set to release more than 100 DualDisc titles in 2006. The shipment total is expected to surpass its 2005 output of more than 13 million units on 102 titles. Among the acts with DualDisc titles in the first half of this year are Pink, Dixie Chicks, Barry Manilow, Teddy Geiger, Miranda Lambert, Clay Aiken, Weird Al Yankovic, the Fray, the Jonas Brothers and London Pigg.

EEEEEEE! Video content! EEEEEE!

ETA explanation of the DualDisc concept:

DualDisc™ is both a CD and DVD in one – allowing an artist to deliver audio, video, and computer content all on a single two-sided disc. One side of the DualDisc™ is a full-length CD audio album, while the other side offers DVD content – including enhanced album audio and features such as 5.1 surround sound, music videos, artist interviews, behind-the-scenes footage, documentary films, photo galleries, lyrics, computer-ready digital song files, and Web links.

eeeeeeEEEEEEEEEEEEEEeeeeeeeeeeeeEEEEEEEEEEEEeeeeeeeee!

I'm eee'ing in stereo to honor my man's Dual Disk! He's so clever! He's so sweet! He's so special! I WANT IT NOW! NOW I SAY!

Now I REALLLY want to know what video content will on it! Will the fan club get leaks? Will we have pictures of his butt? Should I upgrade my sound system? If he puts it out while I'm in Europe, I'm gonna spank his butt. I might spank it anyway. Yes, spank. Mmmmm.

The recording companies are cheap SOBs - they won't spend an extra frickin' sixty cents on a CD that they already gouge us and the artists on? And they wonder why they are losing money....

Can I ask a dumb question? How did this album end up coming out under Sony? This is new right?

Here's my problem - I was one of those people who were badly burned by the last round of Sony CDs that took a computer science degree to rip and get on your iPod. Then, after that mess we learned that when we ripped the CD it dumped a bunch of spyware on our computers? I spent ages cleaning it up and vowed never to buy another Sony CD. What to do????

Skatejoy, RCA Records is under the SonyBMG umbrella (click "Labels" on the left hand side). The FAQs on the Sony site say they have stopped issuing discs with the offending XCP software. So hopefully, no worries there.

While I'm here, I'll drop off a little blast from the past that CV was watching last night. Here is the link to the Carolina Huricanes Clay footage from late 2003. I am still astounded that man can so casually skate and sing at the same time.

Even with Sony "disclaimers", I'm buying at least two - one for the CD/DVD/SACD in my living room sound system and one to rip using my backup computer so I can reformat and reinstall the hard drive if necessary...

Clay's lucky I love him so much....

Let me tell you just how much I believe Sony's disclaimers....

The other problem with Sony is that they aren't playing nice with iTunes. If the album isn't on iTunes, it could miss a lot of sales. I know Switchfoot was pretty bitter about how their last album got caught up in the whole Sony/Apple powerplay.

Maybe getting sued by Texas shook some sense into them.

This is still pretty much an RCA product though that was under the BMG part of the merger...so Hopefully they disn;t acquire the Sony bad habits yet. I mean I don;t think we heard any bad things about Kelly's CD. I think there were some problems with Bo's but I'm sure they will fix it now. These are huge artists products they are dealing with. They won;t jeoperdaize their sales IMO.

So, what do we think the DVD content will be? I have been rummaging through my other DualDisc for examples.

U2 - How to Dismantle an Atomic Bomb - A documentary and some bonus videos from songs on the album. I think I watched this stuff once, and didn't find it to be too compelling.

Bo Bice - The Real Thing - Entire album in enhanced stereo, A Day in the Life video, and bonus audio tracks. I've listened to the CD side a few times, but haven't been interested enough to check out the DVD stuff. (Hee. This second place finisher is definitely not as important to me as the one from Season 2.)

Rob Thomas - Something to Be - Documentary, photo gallery, lyrics. This had a pretty long segment on recording studio stuff, along with some photo shoot footage.

(Takes a moment to beg Clive Davis for similar content for the Aiken. Particularly if a small amount of pissiness and the potential for shoe throwing is involved.)

Franz Ferdinand - You Could Have it So Much Better - In the studio footage, gallery, interview, music video.

So, based on my admittedly small sample, I would think we could plan to see some studio footage / backstage sort of stuff. I'd love to see Clay collaborating with the producer and the musicians to achieve the sound they are looking for. Of course, that presumes that Alpha Male Clay comes out in the studio, and that he has a musical vision he wants to achieve. Hey, it's my little fantasy, and I'm holding on to it until we see what the content actually is.

Another question for you: Is a couple bucks extra for the video content that big a deal? I generally always buy the DualDisc versions if they are available, because the small price difference isn't an issue for me. Of course, we haven't gotten are marching orders on how many copies to buy, and if I have to get more than 7, I guess that could start adding up to some real money! :P

clay4shore, hee. Yeah, what's up with that? Don't they want to take our money? :P

well hopefully Clay won't have any problems but frankly the CD would actually have to personally slap me in the face before I wouldn't buy it

PPPPFFFFTTTT, amateur. It could run up my charge cards, steal money out of my purse, eat all the food in my kitchen, leave cigarette burns on my carpet, hit on my friends and load my computer up with porn and I'd still buy it. ;)
