Good luck to anyone trying for tickets in this first round. I'm still holding out hope for something in the midwest

Ditto to that. I should probably check and make sure my Ticketbastard account information is still up to date since I haven't used it since 2005.

Good reminder, bottle!

And BTW, I called the Pala Casino this morning to see about another release of Clay's package..

heh...I've been waiting to write that...

but alas, 'tis not to be....He and I had a grand ole' time schmoozing...When he said tix will go on sale Friday, I said, "UH...just be prepared." He responded that they wouldn't be handling tix sales---that it would be Ticketmaster doing it. I told him 'we' call Ticketmaster "Ticketbastard", and I thought he was going to have a laughing fit!

I'll be sure to eat my protein Friday morning! Hey, Clay! Got any spare GuaranAH? Or if not, got a spare package? :medium-smiley-070:

EEEEEEEEEE I can't believe I will be in a ticket frenzy too...but I will have to piggyback with Couchie...But I really wonder if it will be tat crazy...it is a big enough venue right???

It isn't that big, I don't think, but it is a lawn, not a room with fire codes and all that.

I am already nervous. And I love it because it means "soon" (ticket gods willing....) we will be seeing that fine hunk of man with the golden voice live and in person!

ETA: Does anyone know for sure - when Ticketmaster says 10:00am, do they mean local time at the venue?? So in the case of Pala, 10:00am would be Pacific time, or 1:00pm here on the east coast?

butterflyshine, who is also a mod at the OFC, posted this at CV:

I will check on the presale of the Pala venue, not every venue will have an OFC presale, but I have no idea if this one of those venues or not....

If she posts anything more at CV, I'll bring it over. I assume she'll also post any updates at the OFC.

thanks bottlecap...I think this may become one of his most complicated concerts yet...with the orchestra and the fact he may have to leave in the middle of the tour for his UNICEF trip.

I thought his UNICEF trip would be over before the tour starts. Did I miss something?

he said in his blog that they are scheduling it in early summer and is part of the reason why they were having problems with the scheduling.

Hrrumpf! Let me check my calendar to see if I'm free Dec. 7th. <_< Oh, wait. I'll have to flip a few hundred pages in my datebook---past the summer months, donchaknow. :what_d_fuck:

Don't get me wrong, guys....I'm tickled pink to know we'll be able to celebrate two seasons with Mr. PANTS! and VOX!...I'm just itching to get the rest of those summer concert dates. :soon::smokelots: MUST plan my business trips!

ETA: Hee! Couchie! Kenny asked, "When are your buddies coming? Friday? Saturday?" I answered. Here was his answer:

"Oh, I'll clean up Friday, then. I was gonna wait 'til Sunday." And then he took the paper and his warmed-up pizza into the living room.

Heh. :medium-smiley-048:

This was in my Google News Alerts for Clay this evening....more about the BAF Gala in less than two weeks.

Champions for Change Benefit

Raleigh, NC- The Bubel/Aiken Foundation (TBAF) will be hosting its annual Champion of Change Gala, Saturday, March 31, at the Cardinal Club in Raleigh. The Gala honors individuals and groups who have created opportunities for people with disabilities to participate in all that life has to offer.

The event will feature a special performance by multi-platinum recording artist Clay Aiken as well as an exquisite three-course dinner from Executive Chief Fred Leach, compliments of the Cardinal Club. Lynda Loveland, local news anchor for WRAL-TV, will serve as mistress of ceremonies. Champion of Change awards will be given to State Farm Insurance, Coach Jim Johnson, TBAF’s Voices of Beta Alpha volunteers and Youth Honoree, Jonathan Bunzey.

The honoree that makes me smile is Coach Jim Johnson....

On February 13, 2006, Champion of Change Honoree, Coach Jim Johnson made the kindhearted gesture of inserting his team manager who has autism, Jason McElwain—now known to the world as J-Mac—into Greece Athena High School’s final home game, which the Trojans won 79-43. J-Mac scored 20 points in just over four minutes, including six three-point baskets, to become an instant national celebrity. Johnson is being honored as a Champion of Change for his commitment to including everyone on his team and making a decision for inclusion that has brought to light the possibilities that including children with disabilities can bring not only for the particular child but also for an entire community.

I remember that story being on the news, seeing it several times...and each time, it made me cry.

EEEEEEEEEEE for Christmas! An ancient and honorable tradition. Hee.

Totally off topic, but I need opinions here because I am paranoid and over protective of my kitty.

You know the pet food recall? Well, one of the cat foods listed is Hill's Science Diet Savory Cuts Adult food - chicken, beef and ocean fish - in the 5.5 ounce cans. They list various expiration dates and lot numbers.

I feed Waldo Hill's Science Diet Savory Cuts Adult food - chicken, beef and ocean fish - in the 3 ounce cans. None of the expiration dates or lots numbers match.

Close but phew! Safe, right?

Well, is it??

It is so close it is making me very nervous! Problem is, he is a VERY picky eater and this is all he will eat.

Do you think it is safe to continue feeding him the 3 ounce cans??? Techincally, they are not on the recall list.

On topic - it is waaaay to early to care about Christmas! There are still, what, 7 dates to be announced for the summer tour? First things first!

I'm glad he is doing a Christmas tour again and hope he'll bring a fresh new stand-up routine to it (but please! No vignettes!), but I want the summer of love first!

Pet food - I am safe - this dog was raised on purina pro - the previous dog could only eat human food and science diet. Iams is disgusting stuff that almost killed the previous dog - it has some very strong additive that is in most pet foods, what ever it was I small bit was enough to make my dog sick - picked that up the first day (pretty easy - immediate, and I mean immediate, diarhea) I had her and put her on human food while I tested different dog foods on her.

yayayayayayaya a Christmas concert -I knew he would have one - this is the second leg of thetour - moresymphnies -I wonder if he will be on the full show and if he will have backup singers?

I really just wish he has some more new songs for the Christmas concert...There are so many great Christmas songs out there...I bet he does...he probably is getting bored with the ones he has been singing for 3 christmases...

I can't believe I'm going to say this, but Ansa got me thinking...If he does sing some different songs for Christmas, what do you want to hear?

I'll go first.

"Baby, It's Cold Outside"....so many delicious possibilities with that one. :hubbahubba:
