Gibby THANK YOU! I love that big nose-scrunching grin in the second picture. I've got a thing for Clay's nose.

And feet.

And fur.

Star Trek conventions? I attended the VERY first one held in NYC. The neatest part was that the stars all had hospitality rooms and we could just wander in and out of them. I absolutely LOVED Jimmy Doohan. He was funny and kind and sincere and welcoming. Nichelle Nichols was an Earth Mama wanting to take everyone back to her hotel to party. Shatner, of course, did not have a hospitality room, he gave a lecture to 300 of us and he was funny. It was beneath Nimoy to attend at that time in his life. And while I'll always love TOS, I'm a TNG girl. See new siggy.

Crying over sad songs? Not usually however, Clay made me bawl like a baby in Clearfield. He was singing YWT. Now I'm not a religious person but I freaking love the way he sings that song. Towards the end, I started crying, then Clay comes back out with TITN. I bawled like a freaking baby, big, hacking sobs. Although that's not a really good song, it's Clay's first professionally recorded song *ignors OTWOL* and it brought back memories of the AI2 Tour and everything. Then he's singing 'Invisible' and I'm bopping along to the music and bawling my eyes out, then he goes into 'Solitaire' and yep, still bawling my eyes out. I also think 'Merry Christmas, With Love' is very sad.

Of course the song is now tainted for me--I still haven't been able to watch the "Vincident" since it originally aired. It's the only AI Clack I skip over.

Ahh, but Clayrev, if you listen to just the audio, Clay sings that song awsomely!

Farouche, I don't usually read fanfic, but one of your stories was the very first one I ever read and I was freaking hooked! It was about three years ago on RHT and had about 50 chapters and took place in kinda real time. Your characters were so alive and the story line so believable.

Couple of old photoshops. I don't know who did them:

You're welcome, Wanda! His nose scrunch is really cute. And I love all of those other things, too. That's why my photobucket is overflowing!

ETA: Ah, I see that the photoshops are proliferating. This one inspires a number of naughty thoughts:

Oh, oh, oh, that's fom my favorite Leno appearance!!! I loved his look there! Actually, that was the only visit I liked. Never appreciated how Leno treated him like an adolescent. JMPOV and all that.....

I was there when Shadylil was crying like an effing baby--who cries during Invisible for Pete's sake?

Shady knows I hatesssss photoshops like that, but she still sends them to me in e-mails. GRRR. I delete 'em so fast it'll make your head spin. Here at least I can scroll. And on top of that, she says TITN is not a good song??? WTF??? Don't let lightmyfire hear you say that!! But all is forgiven, due to the Star Trek reminiscences. just don't do it again :)

OK I did a little housecleaning and here is part 2 of the FCA forums tour. Part 1 of tour can be found here.

The 3rd forum is CLAY LIVE. and the sub forums will of course always consist of a particular tour and will include threads for each of the venues and various other sub forums having to do with Clay and a live event.

Right now in the forum, the DCAT threads still remain as well as a new forum for the Xmas concerts. You can go there to plan or see who will be at your concerts or plan any get togethers, share tips, etc. Those threads will turn into cellcert threads and then recaps after the concert.

There is also a MISC Events thread- Right now it is housing the ice show in Vegas talk. If anyone if going to the Neil Sedaka thing, feel free to start a thread there. In fact, you can start threads all over the forum for the most part. If you have an idea for a thread but don't know where to put it just ask one of the mods and we'll help you set it up.

There's a Clay media thread there but it appears pretty useless at the present time. We'll either see how it evolves or rethink it. Since Ansa and I concentrate on putting this type of info at the main FCA site we don't really bother with it here.

Forum number 4 belongs to Bubel-Aiken foundation.

We put TBAF news there. We have a beta alpha chapter FCA-MAD. We haven't had any major projects as of yet but we'll work on that in the near future.

Ok that was short.. I'll do the next couple in a day or so.

lovereyes - sorry, that's probably my fault for adding another picture at the end. This is probably the pic you meant to post (and I loved his look that night, too!):

uh....

Well....I mean....he does love that song, you know....and it DOES have a special significance and whatnot....and sometimes Clay's face gets all schmoopy during it when the crowd sings along....and...

oh, hell....I'm raising my hand here, people! :imgtongue:

ETA: I share the doubts about Jay Leno's 'sincerity'. I've also felt a patronizing air from him re: Clay...not sure exactly why, but....

cindilu..that song is just beautiful. Where did it come from and who is Mark Shultz. Stunning music and stunning voice. Thank you for the FD recommendation, that's the #1.

I don't know much about him, really. I just heard the song on the radio late, late one night and it touched me. *thanks the deities for the days of Napster* I do believe Mark Shultz is a CCM artist.

Pig Hilton must have some kind of deal with ABC? First GMA, now Kimmel. Mehh. As long as Jimmy doesn't diss Clay with him, it's all good. Sure, I'd prefer if the scumbag just shrivelled up and blew away like the worthless piece of shit he is - but the world will keep on turning. Heh. Maybe Jimmy will give it to him like he gave it to that Gawker chick on LKL. I'd have to fly out to LA and kiss his feet then.

Exactly what I was thinking cindilu. Jimmy made that Gawker chick look like the stupid fucking liar that she is, that was a rout. I have absolutely no doubts that he will defend his friend Clay if the subject comes up. Can't wait to tune in to that show but the only problem is that I can't stand to look at that ugly fucking piece of stupid shit. Well now, I feel much better!

It makes sense that Shultz is a CCM artist. They do pour their hearts into the music.

Hey goldarngirl, Tammy wrote the song but Martina's voice just touches me more than Tammy's. It's a beautiful song nonetheless.

BWAH!! Shadylil, you're not alone!

Could be just me rationalizing, but I've always thought he gets so much crap from comedians because he's so funny. He's competition, big time, and for him it's just a sideline to that amazing voice. That must suck for them.

I've liked his appearances on Leno but yes Jay always has a bemused posture. And Clay seems to play a goofier role. I don't mind as I love goofy too.

Listened to ATDW for the fist time since the tour began and all I can say..I have missed it. I repeated the songs he didn't sing in concert several times. Wow, I missed them so much. I really appreciate These Open Arms more now..but I Want to Know What Love Is just doesn't cut it anymore. It was always a disappointment to me because i was so intrigued by the snippet and I didn' t think it lived up to its promise. But now that Quiana and Ang and Clay have been wailing the shit out of it...the recorded version really pales by the comparison. Recorded Lover All Alone? sublime. Back to being my first playlist of the day.

*raises hand*

During the last show of the NAT I got to see, in Charlotte. Hit me like a ton of bricks. The infectious joy of him singing that song, combined with the fact that it was my last show of the tour, and I was sobbing like a baby.

I love the Kimmel appearances -- but I also love the Leno appearances too. It's definitely a different Clay -- he plays the "hick" up, and I think that's probably because of Leno's doing. Do I care? Not really -- I like that Clay as well. I think he does well in almost all appearances like that, where he just gets to talk and become a storyteller. To me, that sells himself -- his charm.

I'm totally easy like that -- Clay's on my teevee. I'm happy.

ETA: shady, I LOVE your siggie. One of the best Next Gen episodes EVAH!

But I think it's a two way street -- Clay makes fun of Jay too. And frankly, Clay makes fun of himself more than anyone else does toward him. He's got self-depricating down COLD.

That's why I've never worried about Clay when he's gonna be on a TV show. EVER. Clay knows how to handle it.

JMO, YMMV, all those different letters.

Poor JMH and lilyshine were so concerned for me, rubbing my back, asking if I was OK. Hell yeah, I was just freaking schmoopie that night.

Picard's naked ass is f-i-n-e. Yes, yes, I know that I should be more concerned about the message of that particular episode, but the ass rules, yo!

:medium-smiley-070: I may not have been to a Star Trek convention, but do either of these count?

I've been to 3 days' worth of Beatle Week in Liverpool....

and I own all the Star Trek movies plus "Galaxy Quest" which we just watched for the umpteenth time last night!

You have posted like 7 pages since this reference - remember it?? :lilredani:

:imgtongue::whistling-1:

BTW - I am watching Kimmel - you-know-who is coming on in a bit.

I didn't turn it on just to see him, I frequently watch if I remember it's on!!

I'll let you know if YKW or Kimmel mentions Clay. Should I spoiler it?
