The 7 day period ending 06/04/08 saw 87 Mainstream AC spins for OMWH. It is #29 on the Mainstream AC Chart. OMWH is not on either the Taking Off or Jump charts. There are no new Format Starters, but I am expecting to see KBEZ soon as it added OMWH per AllAccess.

On the personal side, claytonic's post about David's new protege made me take a sidestep. You see, a few years back when MiniScarlett was born I made sure that I would have a lot of say on her name. A year earlier when DS was born I didn't get to have a lot of input on his name because I ended up with an emergency CS when DS's heartbeat was faltering and I was exhausted and out of it. I liked the name DS ended up with but it's nice to be able to pick. For MiniScarlett, I'd always loved the show Brigadoon (those hundred-years apart relationships just get me -- Brigadoon, Sleeping Beauty, Somewhere in Time, etc) and I liked the last name of the actress, Cyd Charisse. David's new star is very talented but I'm kinda sad that the name I picked (which was not very common for Filipinos at that time) could end up being a one-name celebrity one like "Madonna".

Not that it really matters. Very small discrepancy, and the bottom line is that OMWH is chugging along, with that "I think I can" mentality. I've been trying to support it, but no results yet at the stations closest to me (WJBR in Wilmington, WBEB in Philadelphia). I think WBEB, whose placement on the dial is 101 and which is referred to as B101 (B-one-oh-one), really should step up to the plate with that Spamalot connection and all. Of course, I didn't suggest it quite that way in my email request. I've even been doing surveys and listening to the stations a little so I can say something relevant in my requests, both of which I find to be onerous tasks. I'll do it, though, because becoming an AC radio artist is a goal Clay set. I think it's reachable.

Heh, about time I chimed in on the emoticons. I do have my moments and I have other not moments. I am trying to remember to do thumbnails more often, but sometimes, it is what it is. it is an issue for dial up and that is why I try not to overdo. We not only have members, but we are constantly reminded we have lurkers as well. As to not posting them on Ch well, I agreed with that, it makes reading go faster and scrolling not as much. You have to have a variety of places for people to post. It is important to remember the culture is different at each site and to adapt, even though I do forget from time to time. I used to read at work, when I had work for good reason, I had long conference calls that I was required to attend by my boss that i had nothing to do with. I would do desk work, while listening to the call while reading the boards and hence no fall asleep in the meetings, which I did do when I attended these meetings in person. yes, as much as I did the work fine, I got into trouble all the time for falling asleep in meetings and my head nodding off, I think it was the monotonous drone of voices, sort of like a lullaby.

Right now, I put the dog outside, while I stay in the air conditioning, we had our big walk at 8 am today and a little one at 10. I guess I will have to sit outside with her, I have been keeping the shade down since here are actually a few people around today instead of my usual living alone on the block(scary during those night walks).

Clay, well, he will be fine,actually there are many who describe him as fine right now!

I dunno. Like you I have heard they poll different stations, and I don't have access to that data. The chart you linked has the same format starters and leaders for Matchbox Twenty. Both show 15 stations playing and +23 spins. Just the ranking and total spins are different--waaaaaaay different.

ETA: Both charts are called Mediabase. They look identical in many respects. Both have the header "Mediabase - Published Panel Past 7 Days - by Overall Rank."

OK, he's on NOW...channel 502. They were very clear to say "reportedly" and that he wasn't saying anything about his private life.

They're showing lots of good stuff actually. I think that it was the stuff that they showed on CNN pretty much...but nice to see his face on my TV.

I loved his hair in the new footage BTW.

He stated clearly in that interview, which would have been taped shortly after OMWH was released....definitely after the AOL sessions cuz they showed some of that...he CLEARLY stated that he wasn't talking about the tabloid stuff anymore. That's the thing. As much as we don't know when and if he will even make a statement regarding all this - we also will probaby never know the reasons WHY he chose to make/not make a statement and the timing. That's really as it should be too, IMO.
